Found this spot super last minute and honestly so glad we did! Definitely worth stopping by. The location is perfect too since the beach is literally right across the street, so it's nice to grab some food and go for a walk after. Everything we ordered was a 10/10, no complaints at all. I also really liked that they're dog friendly and it seemed pretty family friendly too since we saw a few kids there. Customer service was really good as well! I came to Finney's in Laguna Beach for dinner one night, sadly just missing happy hour (which ends promptly at 5 PM), and walked away with a mixed 3-star experience. Let's start with the bright spots: our server was absolutely phenomenal. She was completely on top of her stuff, highly attentive, and managed the table wonderfully. The overall ambience of the space is also really cool, though on the night we visited, there happened to be a bunch of families with babies crying loudly throughout the room. Of course, that's completely outside the restaurant's control, but it definitely added a lot of noise to the environment. Unfortunately, the food itself was extremely expensive and quite mediocre. We shared two specialty burgers, the bison burger and the Wagyu burger and both were surprisingly small. Worse yet, the buns were pretty bad, feeling and tasting on the level of sweet Hawaiian rolls you get in a bag from the grocery store. While the meat was decent, it didn't feel anywhere near as high-quality as they advertise it to be. Portion sizes overall were tiny for what you pay compared to other burger restaurants. The side salad was very small, and our side of fries literally only had about 12 fries on the plate and that was it. As for logistics, street parking in that area can be a total hit-or-miss depending on the day and time you visit. The restrooms were okay, but they definitely could have been cleaner. Great service and a neat location, but the overpriced, undersized, and underwhelming food keeps this at three stars. read more

Calm atmosphere with a chill vibe. It was a beautiful day out and the waiters and waitresses were really kind and never let our drinks run empty. They have a good amount of tables ranging from 2-6 People. Booths, tables, and picnic tables. I ordered a raspberry lemonade, Avocado egg rolls, And Hot honey traditional wings. The raspberry lemonade was just the right amount of tart. The Avocado egg rolls is just that, avocado in a crispy roll. The hot honey traditional wings, wow, the way they batter their wings and fry them is "chefs kiss" because the crispiness was still perfect with the sticky sauce. My only gripe would be their silverware was pretty dirty, I didn't use them for my meal but overall a good experience. read more

I absolutely love Laguna Beach and go into all establishments there with high expectations. Finney's Crafthouse has a prime location on PCH and the one thing I loved was our street-side table offering a front-row seat to the stylish locals, casual beach-goers, exploring visitors while enjoying the coastal breeze. Terran (sp?) was adorable and began serving with high energy and attentiveness. However, we had completely finished our appetizers and had no drink refills or ability to order another cocktail and simply felt abandonded. Upon her eventual return she appeared more flustered, took our meal and drink orders (which she forgot) and it just went downhill from there unfortunately. Since I was unable to get Terran's attention to inquire on the contents of my husband's cocktail, I had to go directly to the bartender. I was surprised at the lack of helpfulness and that instead of taking my question as a welcoming experience to show/explain how Finney's make this particular drink and help clarify why it may not have looked and tasted similar to what he was used to, this bartender immediately went on the defense and had an offensive attitude and made it in front of me to "prove" to me that all the ingredients were in fact included. It wasn't JUST about that. I have never experienced such a lack of customer service. (What I also felt immediately was that this was not the first time this particular concern regarding this same drink has come up.) As a former bartender myself, FYI, I am quite familiar with how drinks are made as well as proper bartender etiquette and behavior. My husband said this cocktail tasted "funny" not simply that this "one" ingredient may not have been included so I was in fact curious what the components were so I was very happy to let him make it in front of me. Needless to say, Finney's has a great airy casual atmosphere if you're looking for fun with big-screen tvs for sports with a massive variety of craft brews and a sizeable menu that includes many fun bar foods like wings, pizzas, tacos and tater tots. My husband and I also enjoyed competing against other locations on the tabletop trivia game. I may have had more of a positive experience if I went with different intentions and less expectations. But again, they're in Laguna Beach so... Very disappointed. :( read more

Finally, a really good burger place in downtown Laguna Beach! I've been to Finney's Crafthouse a few times now, and every burger I've tried has been delicious. And the sweet potato fries... wow. They also have an excellent beer selection. Another small thing I really appreciate is being able to pay at the table with the tablet instead of having to wait for the server when you're ready to leave. I was conflicted between 4 & 5 stars. What was the deciding factor was going back for lunch the following day and the food & service was superb. Yesterday we stopped by for dinner and used the wait list feature on here (highly recommend). The service was honestly slow. Not so much our server, who later shared he was actually in the bar area far from us, but the others who would ask if we needed something then not come back with it. In terms of food, we shared the coconut shrimp appetizer based on my peers reviews on here! I agree they were good! For my entree I had the poke bowl which was decent. My husband had the salmon bowl which he wasn't so much of a fan of the quinoa. Now today for lunch, totally different story. Our server was awesome and attentive. The tater tots were probably the best I've ever had, I'd take down another large right now if I could. The atmosphere had a great energy without ever getting too loud. So glad we stumbled in here. Tessa at the host stand greeted us with a smile and a friendly attitude, such a good start. Beer wise, they've got a great California draft lineup. I tried the Finney's Maple Brown (brewed in Laguna) malty, a little darker than my usual, but super smooth. I asked for a cider next and got kombucha by mistake (honestly, not bad!), but the cider ended up being my favorite. I love a crafted drink, but I always enjoy a draft beer. The wide variety they offer has something for everyone. I need to come back just to work through the taps. Eyeing the Cali Cream next time. Food: we came for the mini lobster rolls and they delivered, buttery with that subtle sweetness of the Hawaiian roll. The bacon and blue burger was juicy and packed with flavor; peppered bacon, blue cheese, crispy onions and yuzu buffalo. Owen, our server, was on it with recommendations and stayed attentive even during the rush. Eli, the assistant manager, checked in and surprised us with extra churros for dessert, crisp outside, soft inside. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual with TV's throughout to catch a game. Finney's Craft House in Laguna Beach is a medium size footprint, bigger energy, family friendly, beer lovers, sports bar experience. It is The Point meets Yard House. They usually have the large front windows open so you get the beautiful Laguna Beach weather and vibe at all times. The bar has a lot of woodgrain and dark metal and always feels like it could be just a tiny bit cleaner throughout. Service is quick without being brisk and efficient. The menu is large and the food is tasty and reliable. Burger sizes are substantial! It also has a large size menu of rotating taps and includes seltzers and cider as as well as specialty drinks for those who don't do beer. The restaurant footprint is much larger than the bar footprint and you may face a weight to get a table or a seat. They are dog, friendly and beach friendly. We've been here a number of times and will be back again. read more

We came on Monday Laguna Beach for lunch. I've been wanting to try Finney's for a while now. I would like to start with the positive first. Finney's is located on PCH. The restaurant has a great outdoor patio with sliding doors to give it a good vibe. It's a great location to enjoy drinks on a sunny day. They have a nice selection of beers on tap. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to come to the front just to seat us. My husband ordered a beer and the grilled chicken club and asked for fries. When he received the sandwich it hardly had any chicken and received chips instead of the fries. I asked him if we should flag down our waiter, didn't even check in to see how our food was. His comment to me it's like eating toast, there's nothing in there. I went the Grilled Mahi Tacos. The fish wasn't seasoned and the tacos didn't taste like anything. Let's start with the service, staff is amazing 10/10. Super nice and understanding when we asked what the seasoning was for the chicken since we are feeding our baby it. We got the blue cheese burger, that was a solid 8/10. I will say, I am almost 99% positive there was slight mold on my burger bun, but I just picked it off, so beware. Also, not including fries with the burger is criminal, but I digress (fries were mid at best, 6/10). The fried pickles, great concept (because they cut long ways and not like normal circles), terrible execution 3/10; it was covered in batter which was delicious, but you couldn't even tell there was a pickle in it. On to the Nashville chicken slider, good flavor, huge portion, I mean great bang for your buck, but could have used more pickles or something, I felt the sauce overpowered; 6/10. Chicken quesadillas was decent, but chicken was dry 7/10. I got a cider and it was completely flat, I wasn't sure if it was just flat cider or it went bad so I won't rate on that. I rate low because they have a ton of potential and the menu looks delicious. I will definitely comeback for a redemption round and hopefully change the rating; because I am confident this place is a 4/5 at minimum, but the food was just so subpar this time around. As for the inside, I love it, very open, relaxed, tvs everywhere, but what's with the bar menu? Trying to read that thing is like looking at a bad word search puzzle. read more

Loved this restaurant! Got seated in a decent amount of time. We got bench style seats with a big table as we had 6 people. The wait staff was super nice. Our waiter was very thorough and made sure to keep us happy. I was shocked at the affordable prices as the restaurant is in down town Laguna. We shared the nachos for appetizer, I got the grapefruit martini. It was good but not tart enough for me to get again. My friends got the strawberry margarita.. One liked it, the other didn't. The burgers were a great size and my grilled fish tacos were great! My daughter got the bone in wings and she loved them. Her friend got the tots and liked them. We visited Finney's for a late lunch on a weekday. It's a great location on PCH, and the menu looked tasty so we were looking forward to a good experience. The place was 1/3 to 1/2 full. Sadly, we found the service and food to be lacking. I ordered lettuce wraps and fries for my meal, husband ordered a pizza. After 30+ minutes my meal arrived. We waited 20 more minutes for my husband's pizza. I had to ask the manager about it since he was the only one around to help. When he asked they brought it right out. The lettuce wraps were really bad and not as described in the menu. The chicken filling had very spicy sliced red peppers and seeds on top, which sent me into a coughing fit and I removed. The wonton strips were on the bottom under the chicken, not on top, and totally soggy and gross. The worst thing was the lettuce for the wraps was in thin strips, much of it unusable. I had to use two at a time like a sandwich, and the sticky, syrupy sauce got all over me. I mentioned a couple of these things to our server one of the few times we saw him. He said he personally loved the spicy peppers, but would get me more lettuce leaves. Then he disappeared and we never saw him again. Fortunately my husbands long awaited pizza was good, except that there was too much honey all over the place. When we were done we checked ourselves out without a goodbye. The staff were friendly enough, they just really seem to need serious customer service training related to dining. We sat a long time when we arrived before our server appeared. To explain, he said he had helped some other people he thought arrived before us...? The manager stood at the front, disengaged from customers needing attention and what was going on. With all the time we were there our drinks were barely refilled. Finney's has a great craft beer selection and a seemingly good menu.
