Really torn on this one, I have only ever eaten here once before and I remember the food being very good so when I took a trip to Oceano I decided to eat here again with my wife and son. The service was ok at first and we were seated promptly but it took a minute for our order to be taken and we were only checked on a couple times. I found myself having to ration my water while eating because we weren't getting refills. The server was professional and friendly enough I suppose. As for the food it was a mixed bag, my wife said her Chicken wrap was very good and the potato skin appetizer we ate was very delicious. However, I had ordered the filet mignot tacos and they were VERY disappointing, they had far too many radishes in it and the meat itself tasted like flat steak, and nothing like filet mignot. The taste itself was also very lacking and for $30 dollars it was not worth buying. Additionally we ordered my son Mac and cheese with fries and he refused to eat it which is odd because he loves Mac and cheese, I tried some and it had a very strange taste it. The clam chowder though was pretty good. As for the restaurant itself I found the booths far too small and felt cramped inside. Worst experience ever! Drinks didn't come until food was half gone. Only brought 2 out of four soups. "Grilled" oysters were cold and no garlic or parm. All the seafood tasted like it had soap in it. Host never came out to light the fire, had to wave down a guy that was turning on another tables to turn on ours even tho we asked our sever way before hand. Manager was condescending. I've eaten here several times and it never disappoints! Cool place. Food is hot and fresh and the service is always friendly. The outdoor patio, which has an option for covered or open air, is dog friendly. The patio has glass walls which are nice for a wind break yet you can still sea (pun intended). I started my lunch with a cup of clam chowder which was excellent and had a good amount of clams. I then had the fish and chips which were also excellent. The white fish was lightly breaded and cooked just right. My wife had the "grilled" fish tacos which were shredded up pieces of dry tasteless fish. She was very disappointed. The location is great, right in front of the beach. There is outdoor patio seating that is dog friendly and there are tables with fire pits so it would be wonderful in the evening. That being said all this hinges on IF you can get any food or service. Came on Monday (Martin Luther King Jr day) at 1:15pm, waited 20 minutes in a line to be seated (lots of open booths in the restaurant and outside), and another 25 minutes at our table for no waiter to ever come. The table had wet seats, which I asked to be cleaned. It was wiped and still wet from the wipe, so I personally changed out the chair with a table nearby. The bus boy came and asked if we wanted waters, we said yes, no waters came. The same bus boy came back 10 minutes later asking if we want water, for which we said yes, and said the waiter would be by. We got waters and then waited again and nobody came. We gave up, went to go tell someone we were leaving at 1:55pm and there was nobody to tell, we went inside to find someone to tell, couldn't find anyone, so we left. This is the first time I've ever walked out of a restaurant. If you don't have enough staff, either please warn patrons or just don't seat people. Waste of time and we left hangry. read more

This place is located at the corner of the entrance of Pismo Beach dunes in Grover. Beach. Great views! The staff were not overly welcoming, but the wait wasn't long. Our waiter was a very kind and attentive young man. The food came out fresh and didn't take long. I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips that also came with a side of clam chowder or coleslaw, so I picked the clam chowder. I am very picky when it comes to clam chowder. I have to say this was the best clam chowder I have had in a long time! So tasty! The fish was lightly battered, which is what I prefer. The fries were ok, but I will give them props because they were crispy. The tartar sauce was also great! The atmosphere is family friendly and this is a great place to eat yummy seafood! First off, want to let you all know, quite a few restaurants in the Pismo and Grover Beach area add 3% processing fee if you charge. We have lived in the area and have never been to this restaurant. A friend goes there quite often and said it was good. We went on a Saturday night and were "so" lucky to find a parking place. I wanted to sit inside as it was a little chilly, but still be able to see and hear the band. Again lucky, sat right by a window and I could see everyone dancing and having a good.time. The band was Outlaw Country from Bakersfield, they were fantastic, I was dancing in the booth. I looked them up on YouTube and they were there. Our server was Ava, so nice and cheerful. I had a Cadillac Margarita, at first I thought, I wish it were in a bigger glass. Oh no it was perfect, so I only had one. My husband had a Modelo. I ordered Deluxe Coconut Shrimp, came with French fries and either clam chowder or Cole slaw, of course I ordered the chowder. Wanted to get some clam chowder to go and I just so happen to be at Grover so I thought I would get some from here. I went on Valentine's Day so it was pretty packed and it took a little longer than expected to get my food. Well I really liked this place...sure it was in my plan all along. To have a stroll on the beach and exhaust ourselves to the point that we needed food and drink... Fin's was convenient for parking and of course a meal. The perfect ending for a well executed plan. As we walked in the sign posted referred us to have the cashier seat us, that would be fine if we knew where the cashier was hiding. Well we snooped a bit found some clothing and stuff to by, so the cashier must be close right...perhaps she's seating someone else at the moment, we wandered past A bar, then outside to the patio, then back in and there we found the cashier happily smiling...perfect! I wanted to sit inside and not at a table in the sun and there was an empty booth waiting for some butts...alright! Menus down, let the perusing begin, Hum...I'm not too hungry, M what are you thinking to order...(she always gos for the chowder) and there it is, she orders a bowl for us to share. Now toppings like shrimp or crab are encouraged but she chose to compliment the chowder with garlic bread. She then ordered the Poke Nacho's...to share. Our beverages arrived and in no time our lite lunch was served by Ava, nicely done young lady...thank you. The chowder was very good, almost stew like only because t was thick with ingredients. Large strands of "tender" clams, I thought I saw some crab claw meat, and plenty of smallish diced potatoes. The flavor was "Clam Chowder" all the way. Now I've seem my share of garlic bread, this was some of the best I've ever seen. It was not from a baguette roll either, no nice thick almost Texas toast thick and grilled. The poke nachos were good, I don't know I'm not really my kinda thing but try it right. The chips were more wonton, edamame and avocado, a drizzle of sirachi and some sesame seeds (which I had asked not to have). needless to say it was quite good. Now I'm a Fish. & Chips guy so we'll save that for next time but we will certainly be back for more. Oh and they do have some live music after six, so check out the web site for details. We walked to the beach and stopped in for a snack and a drink. Finn's is a local favorite and is right on the sand as you drive onto the only drive-on beach in California. We ordered a tri-tip quesadilla on a sun-dried tomato tortilla to share. It was extra large, full of cheese and stuffed with tri-tip. A perfect afternoon snack! Our server was attentive and brought me a fresh drink to go with my take home container. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating both shaded and in the sun with gas-fire tables for chilly days and evenings. In the summer they have live music a couple of days a week. read more

This is a review of my second visit to this establishment. We were greeted with a waitress that didn't have anything to write down and took notes of our order by memory. As we got our food later on only one order was lacking and didn't show up for my wife. She had to sit there and watch everybody eat but herself. Another waiter checked on us. We told him that she was still waiting for her food. He then checked at the back and showed that her order wasn't up at all, so then it was cooked on the fly. The waitress that took our order finally showed up and asked if everything was good, but told her that one was missing and had to wait. So therefore no apology or anything to compensate for this. This will absolutely most definitely be the last time we ever visit this restaurant if service is going to be this terrible. read more

FOOD: The food was decent. The chowder was full of ingredients and so creamy. My mouth is watering typing up this review thinking about the chowder. I also had the halibut tacos special and they were huge portions and actually had good amount of fish in the tacos instead of just fillers of veggies. The chipotle sauce is addicting, I wanted more. The food came out fresh. The portion did reflect the price but I still think the price was pretty steep for 3 tacos - $27. Almost $10 a piece!? That sounds excessive. This might be a place for a once in a while visit and not a regular visit with that price tag lol. The drinks sounded delicious as well, I had the watermelon mojito during my visit and it was refreshing! Would highly recommend. SERVICE: The servers were so professional and patient. During my visit there was a power outage all around Pismo and they kept their cool and made sure all customers were taken care of and informed about the plan. Rejected incoming customers with respect that they are not able to serve due to no power. They were quick with serving my food (prior to the outage). Always checked in on me with whatever I needed. AMBIANCE: There's an outdoor patio with seatings by the fire and tables. There was a live band during my visit and played amazing songs. Inside plenty of booths; clean and had plenty of lighting (some too much when sun hits it at the right time lol). Not too noisy unless you're right next to where the band is at. They sell some merch by the register as well such as clothing and hats. I highly recommend this spot. Great views, great vibes with the live band and delicious food. Out server was super nice and helpful so no complaints there. However, the food was a 2 out of 10. My fish taco that was grilled was nasty and dry. The fries were over cooked and hard. Don't recommend. The coleslaw and clam chowder are the only good things there! can't go wrong there if you want an appetizer. read more

10/10. I've been driving up the coast from LA to the Bay Area, so I've stopped at a few different restaurants. None of which were worth me writing a review, until now. I preferred the blackened sea bass (sorry I didn't get a picture). Eating it was a religious experience. There was so much flavor, the spinach was the right amount of garlicky, and the rice was yummy. I am very impressed. The cinnamon sponge cake was also yummy. The right amount of sweet without just being a sugar explosion. (I did get a picture of this because I was still here when I started the review). Dannielle was also a delight. Very attentive and quick to respond to me. And there's just something about her presence that I appreciate (maybe that second n really adds something). The patio has a lovely view of the beach. All in all an excellent experience. Last note: if you're going out and you're mad at your husband, don't order the blackened sea bass if you wanna stay mad. Secretly the best chowder on the Central Coast. They use fresh clams which make a huge difference. Great staff all around...we were greeted and seated where we requested (in the room with the live music) drinks were offered immediately. Bartender was on point with their specialty drinks. I had currently taken my in-laws from out of town out to dinner for a birthday celebration. A party of 6, on the weekend of pismos car show, just around 5:30. It was slow but the band was just setting up. We had requested a fire table and sat at one unlit. So we asked for them to light it but unfortunately the boy working was having issues and allowing gas to just fume out. Rather than move us to a new table, our waitress just said it wasn't working. We ordered our food rather quickly and were brought out our drinks quickly. Then came the chowder and coleslaw. We had ordered 4 chowders and one slaw. When she bought out only 3 with the slaw. We had assumed she couldn't carry it all so we waited patiently. After about 7 minutes I walked inside to the hostess and asked if I could get the chowder that was missing from our table along with some crackers for the chowders. She said she'd pass the message to the waitress. I went back to my table and waited for my chowder, the waitress then comes out only with crackers and her tablet with the order. She then goes over our order stating how we weren't missing a chowder. I then said everyone's order back with their choices of chowder or slaw to her and said how there is a total of 4 chowders and we clearly don't have 4. She said we did, until she looked around and realized she hadn't brought enough. I said I would like my chowder without trying to defend myself. Then my mother in law asks for some more waters also. When the waitress came back with the chowder and water she had literally slammed the water down in front of me. I was so shocked, my husband furious and telling me he wants to request a new waitress. When she returned with our food about 5 minutes later she had a change of attitude. But the experience was terrible and almost reminds me why I don't want to support these touristy business as I will be treated like a tourist. So bad wouldn't recommend read more
