I wanted to love this place. The location is unbelievable right in front of the beach entrance. The waiter sat us down as soon as we walked in. This is when it went downhill. The waiter walked us to our table and asked us what we wanted to drink, we ordered two ice teas. We waited 30 mins and my wife decided to go ask for our tea. The waitress at the counter apologized and sent a server. We order fish and chips, cioppino, clam chowder and grilled oysters for our appetizer. The clam chowder was the winner, everything else was just okay. Considering the place was somewhat empty no reason why we waited so long to get served.

3.5/5 Casual seafood restaurant near Oceano Dunes. Service was ok, and the food was decent but nothing to write home about. I had the halibut tacos, which came with French fries and choice of coleslaw or chowder. I opted for the chowder, which was the highlight of the meal. My husband and I also shared oysters on the half shell, which came out surprisingly quick; we think they may have been pre-shucked and plated in advance... There are other better seafood options in the area.

We had the most special experience celebrating our daughter's 7th birthday at Fins Bar & Grill! A huge thank you to Delia, our amazing server who truly went above and beyond to make our lunch feel so meaningful and memorable. She brought such kindness, and attention to every detail--it didn't feel like just a meal, it felt like a celebration. The fire pit table with the ocean views really enhanced the experience too. The food was absolutely fantastic, the ocean views were beautiful, and the company made it all the more special. We left feeling so grateful and full in every way. Thank you, Delia, for making Brightyn's birthday so unforgettable--we'll definitely be back! Special thanks to Bruce and Lisa too!

    Clam chowder, quite good!

I've eaten here several times and it never disappoints! Cool place. Food is hot and fresh and the service is always friendly. The outdoor patio, which has an option for covered or open air, is dog friendly. The patio has glass walls which are nice for a wind break yet you can still sea (pun intended). If this not one of your stops, you should definitely try it.

Sea bass that was supposed to be blacked. Just covered in seasoning not seared.

Worst experience ever! Drinks didn't come until food was half gone. Only brought 2 out of four soups. "Grilled" oysters were cold and no garlic or parm. All the seafood tasted like it had soap in it. Host never came out to light the fire, had to wave down a guy that was turning on another tables to turn on ours even tho we asked our sever way before hand. Manager was condescending. I do not recommend this place. Never came back and checked on us.

This place is located at the corner of the entrance of Pismo Beach dunes in Grover. Beach. Great views! The staff were not overly welcoming, but the wait wasn't long. Our waiter was a very kind and attentive young man. The food came out fresh and didn't take long. I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips that also came with a side of clam chowder or coleslaw, so I picked the clam chowder. I am very picky when it comes to clam chowder. I have to say this was the best clam chowder I have had in a long time! So tasty! The fish was lightly battered, which is what I prefer. The fries were ok, but I will give them props because they were crispy. The tartar sauce was also great! The atmosphere is family friendly and this is a great place to eat yummy seafood! Looking forward to trying another dish when I go back!Give them a try when you are close by!

First off, want to let you all know, quite a few restaurants in the Pismo and Grover Beach area add 3% processing fee if you charge. We have lived in the area and have never been to this restaurant. A friend goes there quite often and said it was good. We went on a Saturday night and were "so" lucky to find a parking place. I wanted to sit inside as it was a little chilly, but still be able to see and hear the band. Again lucky, sat right by a window and I could see everyone dancing and having a good.time. The band was Outlaw Country from Bakersfield, they were fantastic, I was dancing in the booth. I looked them up on YouTube and they were there. Our server was Ava, so nice and cheerful. I had a Cadillac Margarita, at first I thought, I wish it were in a bigger glass. Oh no it was perfect, so I only had one. My husband had a Modelo. I ordered Deluxe Coconut Shrimp, came with French fries and either clam chowder or Cole slaw, of course I ordered the chowder. My husband had Calamari as Ava said quite good and both meals did not disappoint. We ate everything but left some of the fries, ha.

We love this place, if I'm in Pismo or Grover beach we make it a point to stop here. Great food! Great service! Great entertainment and ambiance second to none.

Came by around 3 pm on a Saturday after vising the street fair a few blocks away. Place was only moderately busy even though the weather was nice. I ordered their Chefs Special Poke Nachos ($28). Food took a while but was provided at the right temperature and looked appetizing. Nachos were pretty good with a fair amount of poke. Wonton chips were crispy and the sauce was flavorful. I'd order this again. Staff was friendly and efficient.

The oysters were incredibly sweet and creamy, the octopus was perfectly tender without being chewy, and the Kurobuta pork chop was cooked to perfection, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I was on my way to Monterey for research and decided to book a last-minute reservation in Pismo…read moreBeach for dinner, and was surprised at how utterly disappointing our experience was when we dined at the Oyster Loft. Perhaps the onus was on me to recognize the shape of a tourist trap, but I was optimistic about this restaurant based on some reviews. The "crudo" plate is nothing of the sort beyond a few sliced pieces of fish on a bed of ice (if you know anything about serving *sashimi*, this is a no-no); to call something "crudo" which is, effectively, a sashimi platter feels... somewhat misleading. We also ordered a selection of oysters and were disappointed to see they were haphazardly shucked so much so that many of the oysters would not detach from their shells as we attempted to eat them. There's nothing so inelegant as trying to suck down an oyster and finding it won't budge (even after you've gently coaxed it with the appropriate utensil). The service also left something to be desired. We ordered a first round of cocktails and wine, and the server never checked on us again to see if we would like another round. I usually don't like to make such late reservations (we arrived for an 8:30pm reservation), so perhaps our server was busy with trying to finish their shift, but it felt like an egregous oversight to both 1) not be asked if we would like more drinks when our glasses were empty for 20 minutes, and 2) to not check in on our waters (we were handed a bottle and we ran out of water throughout the course of our meal, and no one seemed to care). Our dinner was also, unfortunately, interrupted by a large table behind us (about 10-15 people) who were incredibly inebriated and having a raucous good ol' time together (kudos for them, but if you want a more romanic or peaceful setting then I may suggest you dine elsewhere). It may behoove the manager to consider asking such guests to be considerate of others who are dining 3 feet from a group that was easily 6 martinis into their dining experience before their food came. Is the view gorgeous? Yes. Is it worth the price, and the seeming lack of service? Absolutely not. I will not be returning, but I suspect that is of little consequence when a restaurant such as this has the premium on prime dining real estate in this lil' beach town. May the luck be ever in your favor should you choose to dine here, and may you experience the bare modicum of service that such prices should include. Just my two cents!

We had a reservation for a birthday dinner and arrived about 30 minutes early. We were told we'd be seated closer to our reservation time, which was completely understandable. However, as we waited, we watched several groups (including walk-ins without reservations) get seated before us. Even after our reservation time had passed, we had to check in with the host again before we were finally seated, despite there being plenty of empty tables. The service at the front definitely could have been handled better. The food, on the other hand, was very good with a great variety of options. I loved that they start you off with freshly made tortillas, cinnamon butter, and salsa to share. I ordered the Campechana de Mariscos, which was fresh, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. We also had the Molcajete, and it was delicious! It came with a great mix of steak, chicken, chorizo, jumbo shrimp, nopal, and cheese. The portion was generous and easily enough for two people. Other dishes we ordered also included the pozole, chicken nachos, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was delicious as well! The mac and cheese especially. For drinks, I tried the Golden Hour nonalcoholic cocktail, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. It tasted like watered-down ginger beer with no carbonation and only the faintest hint of pineapple. It was more on the bitter taste. Overall, this is a great restaurant for the ocean views and flavorful food. The portions are generous, and there's something for everyone on the menu. The only downside was the host service and the unnecessary wait despite having a reservation. I'd still come back for the food and the scenery.
