Came here for a birthday and would highly recommend. Everything we ordered was so good. They also have specials which the servers seems very knowledgeable about. Cozy restaurant in the Rochester Public Market with a menu with a good number of options. Everything is homemade here ! The pasta, sauce, bread, gelato, and most of their desserts are all homemade.

Margarita pizza and soup of the day

The food was very good: definitely homemade and fresh. The ambience was comfortable, and the runners serving the food were friendly yet fast! The spaghetti sauce was very flavorful and not sweet (a very good thing, in my opinion). The noodles' texture was different - like you knew they were homemade! The margarita pizza was devoured by my teenager, and the crust reminded me of the pizza I had in Italy. (It also was cleanly cut!) Finally, the homemade soup of the day (Stracciatella) had a perfect blend of chicken, pasta, spinach and broth. My teenager ate half of that, too! Would definitely recommend. The only downside to this place is the difficult parking since it's part of the Farmers Market. Just be patient to find parking or walk a little if you have to park on side streets. Would definitely come again!

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Fiorella after browsing the Rochester Public Market. The Margherita Pizza was delicious with a nice crust and sweet sauce. The real highlight was the wood-roasted eggplant on baguette with tomato, arugula, and bean purée. The sandwich was flavorful. The bread had a super crunchy exterior with amazing roasted veggies. The bean purée was out of sight. In all, a lovely relaxing lunch. It hit all the marks. We will return.

Generally busy so service is a little slow, loved the ambiance of the place though! The food was good, we got the eggplant gnocchi and pizza. Gnocchi was really fresh, soft but still had a nice bounce, and the sauce was amazing. The pizza had a nice thin crust and overall had a nice Smokey-ness from the ham

Eggplant sandwich- good but needs a punch of flavor (maybe ask for a side of marinara sauce?)

Food: eggplant sandwich, spaghetti w/meatballs, pizza with mushrooms no cheese. The eggplant sandwich was goid, but lacked flavor. I feel like what would take it to the flavor next level would be a booster - like caramelized onions and a tomato jam of some sort. Service: go up to the counter and they bring it to you. The girl at the counter wasn't very helpful and appeared bored. Location: we came here because we needed a place to get out of the cold and seat down and eat lunch after the Public Market, which this is located in the same lot.

    Cacio e Pepe?????? Not really

I'm hoping the spaghetti Cacio e Pepe I was served at lunch was just a "one-off" error by Fiorella. Bland, with no pepper taste, the liquidy sauce added nothing. Although the pasta was prepared well, Al dente, no flavor came through. It was disappointing at best. Fiorella is a counter-service restaurant. You walk up to the front, order your meal, and someone will plop your plate in front of you when it's done. Utensils are provided cafeteria style. The place was crowded, and thus, people must enjoy this kind of dining. If the food is incredible, I'll eat it off the floor, doggy style. However, for pasta this bland, I would need a cadre of servers fawning all over me to put a smile on my face. Maybe Fiorella is better at dinner.

Great place!! Pizza is so good! We will remember to go visit again sooner than later. We don't get to the public market area that often!

Wowza! What an incredible meal with fabulous service! We started with the cocktail special which was similar to an Aperol spritz - glass size was small for a spritz but flavor was nice We shared green salads - huge portion next time will add goat or Roquefort cheese Three pizza and caciao e pepe were the main course YOU MUST GO TRY THEOR PIZZA! Best crust in town and amazing toppings! Be sure to make a reservation

I will be completely frank I think everyone in the metro Rochester Area has been here at least once and you should too.. seriously. Located in the Rochester Public Market by the Cheese Store and next to Velvet Belly. I've been here before but I did not write a review let's remedy that now. (If someone tells you they don't think they would like pasta with cheese and cracked black pepper in their lives needs to try it) Here's the deal call them to make a reservation for dinner or if you have any questions about lunch and etc. I know you don't wanna call but it is what it is. They don't fo online reservations. We came here on a Saturday they open at 11:30-2pm, close than open at around 5pm and close at 11pm I believe (check the info) Basically you walk in and go up to the long bar and order the menu is attached to the counter. You order, get yourself a table or sit at the bar, they give you a number and bring you the food. We picked up our plates and utensils ourselves. They do serve wine and etc and we called in about bringing in a bottle it's fine but the corkage fee is $20 I find this annoying but whatever. We ordered some things to share... We got the cacio e pepe..this is a simple dish made well, basically pasta (spaghetti) with pasta water, cheese and cracked black pepper. Yes kids it a carb bomb but well worth it.. my only slight gripe is I wished it had a little more pepper. Still it was scrumptious and luscious and I could eat more! Than we got the Chicken Cutlet that came with a mixed green salad, lemon to squeeze all over it and some shredded Parmesan Reggiano. Now this was tasty and one person could finish it but it pretty large. It was battered and fried just right, the chicken was succulent but I wished it had a little more seasoning. Both these dishes were shared by myself and my friend and we ate it all.. if I was alone and ordered it most of it would have come mine with me. After our lunch we had a glass of Prosecco a nice way to end lunch and cut thru all the carbs, fat and etc. We did not get any thing sweet and maybe I missed it on the counters menu. The inside has clean lines, wood floors and tables. At night the dim light would be a slight sexy touch but during the lunch hours you need a tad bit more light, maybe open the blinds a bit more. Oh well this is minor. Service was easy at the counter and staff bringing food and delivering drinks were helpful and pleasant. Would I come back again for lunch and dinner.. you damn tooting! Parking is at the public market and it's not hard to get during the evening, daytime you may have to look due to the market that is open at the same time on a Saturday. Give them a whirl, I'll be back.

Chicken Cutlet-can't be seen, but it has 2 pieces of chicken that size. DELICIOUS!

My friends and I can't stop talking about our dinner at Fiorella. It was a month ago! It was so good that we're still talking about it. I went there when it first opened and I finally came back with some first timers. All of us agreed that it is one of our favorite Italian restaurants around, if not our favorite. I have to start by saying that the Chicken Cutlets are the best I have ever had in my life, no joke. It was the perfect thickness, perfect crunch and seasoning, and it had the best lemon vinaigrette salad with it. The portion is very generous and you won't go hungry. My friend and I shared that along with Cacio E Pepe. This was chef's kiss. Again, just perfect in every way possible. Fiorella has a sweet Public Market feel with a nice bar. Great use of space as to not be too crammed. Our service was top-notch. We had everything when we needed it. Our server kept the pace of the dinner going perfectly, as you only have 90 minutes for your seating. This was made abundantly clear when I made the reservation and when they called to confirm. This worked for us because we needed to get to a show. However, if you're looking for a place to go and sit to have coffee and talk or after dinner cocktails, you may want to consider going somewhere else for that or choose a different place to eat. When it's busy, they're very strict about the 90 minutes. In closing, my last word of advice is, GET THE TIRAMISU!!!! Don't even think about sharing, get your own! It's cold and topped with mini chocolate chips that compliment it so well.

Great vibes! Great people. Will come back again. The chicken Milanese is amazing there. I got a margarita pizza as well which was good but not great. I don't love their red sauce. It's just too saucy. But that's a personal preference. This is BOMB Italian in Rochester

But each visit is worse than the next. I really hope they take this review as a much needed pull up. Because it actually pains me to leave a 3 star review for my own country people. It really makes me sad that this place is so overrated. Probably due to their local following, which I completely respect. I do not respect the way the employees run the place. They need to pay attention. Just because a lot of people are no longer shopping big corporations doesn't mean we are going to accept the same treatment from our own community business. It's a shame really, It's a great set up, and they have most of what every Italian needs in their life. Packed into an easily accessible area. The layout is very smart. That what keeps me popping in from time to time to see what has changed. Parking is tricky only because they stay super busy. Which usually is a good thing. But as an Italian, and Rochester outsider, who has lived in many Italian communities, this is the dirtiest community grocery store and deli I've been in. They have a few employees that are lazy and rude, and the good employees are the ones taking up all the slack and working hard. Which seems disrespectful to the staff that works hard. The hot foods are hit or miss. sometimes awesome! depends on what time of day you go, and you want to go early to try and beat the flies. The amount of flies in that place is disgusting. I understand all kitchens will get a few. My family owns a restaurant, so I'm not just talking just as an Italian, but one who has worked in Kitchens themselves. A dirty Kitchen and flies are the worst turnoff. Also, it is a problem they could easily remedy. It is not because they stay so busy, they don't have time to clean. It's certain employees that are holding this place back. They really should clean house. I know my Nonni, would never. On this particular day for this review, my BF wanted to go. I reminded him of how dirty it was last time. Being the loyal local he is, he said, I've just been unlucky. So we went. He ordered the meatball dinner, and it looked hot and delicious. He was definitely looking forward to it. I was 2nd and last person in line to order from the deli. As I was waiting more people started coming in. The line suddenly was more than 10 people deep. That's when I noticed the person in front of me, had not been helped. We all had been standing there for 10 min. Next to me was the hot foods counter. There was a woman and a man, standing there having a casual conversation. The whole line heard it. Nothing to do with work. Meanwhile, there was a young girl there running around like a maniac trying to clean her work station, to help people. I waited a few more minutes, then I noticed someone else behind the sub counter just standing there. I left my BF in my line, and very politely asked the girl if they had any other employees that could help us, and showed her the line. She was smiling and was about to say something, when the woman who had been talking with the gray haired man behind the counter, ran over and interrupted. She had such an attitude. She instantly said, I work that section, and since you got out of line, you have to go to the back of the line. I was shocked and dumfounded! But not having that attitude. I said, excuse me, my BF is in line with me, and please do not speak to me this way. The nice girl piped up, and just said. I understand, what can we get for you? The mean woman who was about my age, with brown hair, then said, ok what do you want? With that NY crazy roll your eyes attitude. I said, "nothing, I do not give money to people who disrespect me or their customers. Now my BF has gotten out of line, and is standing next to me, wanting to know what's going on. The disrespectful woman was still there and growing impatient due to the conversation. Yah, She has no problem making us wait, but when she is waiting on us, suddenly it's a problem. I said right in front of this woman, "I decided not to eat here, because this woman is rude, and I do not trust her, not to mess with my sub, so I'm not ordering. The woman suddenly, became nice, to my BF. Male centered woman on board. My hmmm isn't into that centering BS. She very nicely said. I'm trying to take this ladies order. My BF put his food down on the counter in front of her, and simply said, I do not want my food either then and we walked out. My suggestion would be to clean up the place, retrain employees, and get some authentic Italians in there to help. I didn't take pics of the problem employees, because if the owner wants to know who they are, he can reach out. They do not need to be on blast, for being consistently rude, because this was not the first time, and it's always the same people. They know who they are.
