We asked if they offered a military discount and she said no because said they had a very small profit margin. The only discount they offer is 35.00 off if you pay cash. My husband went away on business and when he returned, we went to look again and had a few more questions. We enquired about their return policy because in the event it didn't fit, we'd want to exchange it. She said they did not allow returns because it could be possible that we would damage the product. The person who helped us was the owners daughter and very nice, but didn't know her products and asked us to come back the following day to speak with her dad who was the father. My husband went back the next day to purchase the electric fireplace and ask the final questions just to be sure we had the right size, etc. Also, asked about returns and he also said no. So strange - don't they back up their products? Finally, the owner says to my husband, "my margin is very small and I've already given you more then enough time". Of course my husband left and did not buy the fireplace. Who in their right mind would after that comment? After reading all of their reviews, my review is no different. They have no idea what customer service means and definitely not patriotic to offer some small discount as a courtesy. And, what's interesting is these type of people can never find fault in themselves or take constructive criticism. Hope they go out of business. tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

They ultimately resolved the issue but after a lot of hassle/working different angles.

After closing, I purchased an optional kit that can be added to the IFT System used by manufacturers (an industry standard system). A wireless remote option. The builder had ONLY a wall switch with no thermostat or adjustment ability installed. Per the IFT system you can ADD and UPGRADE remotes, WIFI access, lights, fans, and other accessories. Yet something in the installation by Fireside causes the remote unit to FAIL TO SYNC. Every manual and online search says it SHOULD work. I reached out to Heat and Glo the manufacturer, but they have the installing dealers do the tech support of their fireplaces. I contacted Fireside and sadly they want to GOUGE customers with a $359 SERVICE FEE! NOPE, I do not need all those services since the unit is BRAND NEW from the Builder. It is THEIR installation that FAILS to sync as stated by the manufacturer and all system literature. They need to figure out what they did WRONG that they made the unit incompatible with a system that is designed to work together! THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK! That is low. Very low. Avoid then at all costs. Find a BETTER DEALER that STANDS behind THEIR WORK!
