This is the place I used to take the three cars we have at home for the last seven years. This morning I show up there around 10:20 AM when I saw 2 cars inside and 3 outside. I asked how many cars were in from to me to have an idea to decide if I would come back later due to having an appointment at 11 AM. When asked, the Asian guy who was working at that time rudely answered that all those cars were in front of and he was not going cut the line to put me in which was not my intention. I think I have the right to ask a simple question like this. It's not my fault if for some reason he had a bad night. Maybe for them I'm just a costumer leaving to find another location to get a service done. I know they can survive without me of course but I'm still thinking that business owners need to know on how to train employees who deal directly with people. read more

I've been a customer at Fire House for probably 2 decades but will no longer go here. I needed a smog check on a 1999 4runner and was lied to about not being able to set his dyno up to do my vehicle. What I realized is he was more intrested in just doing the 5 minutes check on 2000 and newer and was not intrested in the lengthy dyno check that's required on 1999 and older cars. Best smog place ever! Went in on a Thursday morning with 5 kids( 5,4,4,3 &2). They told me 20 mins and to have a seat. This place is very clean. They had coffee, tea, water, and sodas availible for free. A few books for kids & some nice coffee table books for the adults. Also a few toys for the kids and they leave the remote on the table so I changed it to a children's channel. Bathrooms were also very clean. I took my older vehicle to Fire House Smog on the recommendation of a few friends. I barely had a chance to settle in when they came back to tell me my smog check was done but I had not passed. They said it didn't pass the visual inspection and decided to cancel the test instead of charging me! That was very nice of them. I took it to a trusted mechanic and came back a couple days later. They tested it again and it passed. They applied coupons to my smog for me without me having ask. Also, the DMV paperwork was handled right there on the spot! A month later, I took my roommate's car and was treated to the same friendly customer service, speedy testing, and was offered another coupon! Their hours are great too. My wife and I have been going to this smog check station for years now and our experience has been consistently excellent. The shop was run by two Fil-Am gentlemen who are both very friendly, efficient, honest and professional. This morning, I came back to this station to have the used-vehicle I just bought for smog. One of the guys cheerfully took care of my business right away and when I went inside to do the paperwork, the shop manager even helped me finalize the processing of my vehicle transfer and registration. I just learned from him that they are authorized by the DMV to process said documentation and thus, saved me time and money. As an additional perk, the manager also gave me a pretty good discount. My appointment was for 3:00, but they took me in a half hour early! They were very friendly, and the mechanic was kind enough to inform me of a coolant leak and some alignment problems so that I could get those addressed as well. The building is clean, staff friendly, I definitely recommend this place to anyone, and I will be coming here any time I need to get my car smogged. NOTE: They will also give you your tags for your vehicle so that you don't have to go back to the DMV! This didn't work for me because I had already paid online. Paul is super-professional, highly energetic, knowledgeable, and socially aware. The waiting room is pleasantly air-conditioned and beyond clean. He prepared a fresh cup of tea for me while I waited probably 10 minutes for my Explorer. I had reservations about my husband's old heap passing, and thankfully it did with flying colors - Paul went over every detail with me. I have also brought my "baby" - my Mercedes.
