Hands down best steakhouse in south Alabama. I've never been able to order a well done steak from any steakhouse and it melt in my mouth, this place did that! The staff is extremely inviting and the atmosphere is very peaceful. They truly cater to you during this dining experiences. The portions are more than enough for the pricing. I love that you can see your meal being prepared but it's not noisy. The alcohol selection is out of this world and Mitch, the bartender is always most helpful. I am retired Navy so I have been all over the world and I can say I have never had the level of service that I had tonight that this establishment. I really debated between 1 and 2 stars. First of all, what in the heck was I doing in Atmore anyway? Whether for good or bad I have been to all major casino areas in the United States and a few beyond the borders. Experience has at least taught me that there is always a good steak restaurant that will make the sounds of play go away and remind me that there is peace and wonderful bites no matter where you live..... NOT the case here! First, cleanliness was not apparent. It went from the dried-up spills at the entrance to pieces of food remnants around our table. Yuck. Our server looked disheveled - almost like he had been awakened in the early evening. His attitude and sense or urgency was also asleep. At least I found out where the spills were coming from - my purse got soaked at the first pouring of water into our glasses. The menu was standard. The wine menu was probably good for Atmore, but in serious need for a rehaul in any city boasting population over 10K or so. There was not one bottle listed that I had not already tried or could buy at my local grocer. We didn't order, but it didn't matter since no one ever asked for our order - just took the wine menu away (I should say "snatched"). We had the steak with the standard sides and it was average. The steaks were cooked correctly, which is all you can ask of a chef working with his/her inventory, The sides were unremarkable. Again, service was sloppy, slow and unexcited. Full marks for ambiance and decor. Classy and comfortable without being stuffy or gaudy. Service is top notch as well. Friendly, attentive, and charming. I appreciated the palette cleansers between courses as well. The food itself was outstanding. I had shrimp and grits. I never "got" grits before. I understand now. Amazing. My companion had prime rib, and truffle mac and cheese which where both wonderful. The only minor disappointments were the corn chowder and my wine selection. My parents love this place and my mom is a frequent visitor since she likes to gamble alot. It was apparent that my parents knew some of the folks that worked there. The best part in my opinion was hearing the manager share the struggles that the restaurant has and how much it has changed and where he see the place going. We had a spending limit and j was inclined to spend it all :) last year when i did this, I had king crab legs with my steak. Sadly... this year... no king crab legs. So this year was the filet mignon with Oscar crab, sweet potato, asparagus, crab bisque, creme brulee, caramel pecan cheesecake, and chocolate caramel pecan cake. Did I mention how sad i was that there wasn't any king crab legs? My steak was cooked correctly. My dad ordered a medium well and it came out very well. My dad is more forgiving then me because i would have sent that back. The crab bosque and the oscar crab were both tastey. I would say that the flavor was heavy on the "cheesy" side... but since I dont really know how to describe it. I would say its salty. The caramel pecan cheesecake wasn't anything new. The chocolate caramel pecan cake sounds exactly like that and wasn't anything new. The creme brulee however I was impressed that they used real vanilla beans. The chocolate creme brulee was ok... tasted more like coffee. Carrots were done magnificently. My asparagus spears were too thick for my preference. My sweet potato was done fantastically. The prices were comparable to dc prices, with that said I would have expected more in terms of quality and quantity based on the fact I am not in DC and I am at a place where cost of living is 26% less. Service is great and very attentive. Really... wish they had some king crab legs! Definitely room to make better and based on the manager story he shared I am sure this place will get there. read more

Very nice restaurant and overall good experience. The staff was super friendly and attentive. They gave me many great menu suggestions. Presentation was awesome! I had the Hen meal. It was good and but was served on a sizzling platter which I feel was unnecessary. I understand getting the food to the table as warm as possible but I am not a fan of sizzling plates. Takes too long for the plate to cool and you don't want to mistakenly touch it before it's cooled.. I know from experience. I also ordered the truffle mac and cheese. It was amazing! I'm 47 years old, I rarely eat my favorite food - ribeye - because i like mine well done and i either have to send it back and ruin everyone else time ir i get burned steak. I was recommended by family to give this place a try. They raved about every dish they tried. Fine, it's expensive but that doesn't mean it will be great. So I ordered the ribeye, baked potato and fried green tomatoes. The staff brought out our meals together in beautiful presentation. So special.. now the ribeye .. it brought tears to my eyes. Well done, no knife needed, perfectly seasoned and it melted in my mouth. Everything was perfection!! But I highly highly highly recommend their ribeye. If you love steak, trust me, this place will give you the greatest steak moment of your life. Thank you, Fire Chef. I'm spoiled now and nothing compares to that meal. My friends and I get one night out every couple months, there is no place we would rather go than Fire, in Atmore, Alabama. We had the pleasure of having a server by the name of Stephen our first trip, and every trip since then we have requested him due to his superior service. He is attentive to our needs, and always makes suggestions we love. I can't imagine our night out being any more perfect. Fire has the absolute best steaks, lobster bisque, garlic mashed potatoes, and drinks that money can buy. I recommend to anyone that wants a special night out, whether it be an intimate couples meal, or a large gathering, go to Fire Steakhouse in Atmore Alabama. I had an amazing experience. I came in around 5:30 and seated right away. My server was Jonathan and I recommend anyone going ask for him. He is great at explaining the menu and provides stellar service. (This comes from a someone who served in fine dining). He listened to my concerns and helped me order within my dietary restrictions. I had the crab cakes in some kind of creamy lemon sauce... as a person who lived in Maryland I was not expecting meaty crab cakes, and this absolutely was. (I ate it before I took a picture). Bread is brought to each table with butter and sea salt. The chef sent out a special compliment of the beef tips that melted in my mouth. After your appetizer a scoop of a sorbet is brought and drenched in champagne to clear your palate. Yum. Forr my main course I had crusted salmon with risotto. I wanted to do a little dance at the table. It did not stop there. He proceeded to bring me a wonderful dessert which I was too greedy to ask questions but I did take a quick picture as it was smoking when it came to the table. He proceeded to give me a rose and made my dinner for one complete. Aside from his service the food was amazing. You have two people wait on you and Russell was there when Jonathan could not be. This place was amazing very well in formed staff beautiful quite setting and the food is to die for. I cant wait to go back everyone was friendly. The food was very well presented and on point. This is by far the best dining experience I have every experience. The chef and his crew are wonderful people who made it seem like we where there only table in a place that was quite full. I have to laugh at the advertisement stating this is the best casino steakhouse in Alabama. It is the only Casino steakhouse in Alabama. The prime rib, ordered rare, was gray and in a pool of what should have been au jus. It appeared to have been warmed in a microwave. The asparagus was overlooked and soggy and the mushrooms were over seasoned and also swimming in liquid. If you want a decent steak...look elsewhere. I give 3 stars only because overall our experience wasn't bad. We didn't need reservations because it wasn't busy on a Friday night although it would be a good idea. When we first walked in the hostess was on the computer. I had to initiate the greeting refusing to let this interaction ruin our anniversary. I said "Hey!" -and she responded apathetically "hey" and didn't even look up!! Her name badge identified her as Latoya. Big disappointment-the hostess sets the tone...this isn't a cheap establishment. Next complaint- for the price you pay, why shouldn't I expect an intimate setting? Not one table allows for that in this restaurant. We sat at a booth with another couple 2 feet away on one side and another group 2 feet away in the other side. But at least our table didn't have a light beaming straight at us like an interrogation room. I just wanted to spend time with my husband...not know all the goings on at the next table. I felt like I was at dinner on a cruise. Now, our server Stephen was wonderful! He was knowledgeable and pleasant and just kept us informed about our meal. Request him if you can, not sure if all servers were like him. Also, I complimented Joshua myself for his presence. He was there to clear every course and to top off our drinks without any wait. That's what I expect and he came through. The food-wonderful focaccia bread complimentary with 3 butters...we started off with the fried oysters Rockefeller $15 was delish make sure you use the tabasco sauce and squeeze of lemon...yummy although you might want to take it easy on the creamed spinach it can all be a mouth full. A complimentary one bite stuffed pepper..I could've done without. The wedge salad -$8-very refreshing and is a meal in itself. The sorbet palette cleanser was delightful. Entrees were very rich so...might should've split something instead of ordering both the $24 Short ribs over polenta (good but sooo salty) and $24 Chicken with Swiss chards and sweet potatoes (chicken was amazing but sides were sooo sweet) and we added the $6 truffle Mac and cheese....over load! We are half of everything to save room for dessert. The best part! $9 Chocolate 7 layer cake!!! Yummy. If you don't have room for dessert you'll still get 2 bons bons to round out the meal...and a rose with your ticket. From the start, service was incredibly slow! What should have been a 35 minute meal, lasted for over 2 hours! Food was clearly frozen and NOT fresh. In order, calamari was frozen prior to cooking and was rubbery, heavily breaded and fried. The "pallet cleanser" made zero sense, especially after coating it with a splash of $7 cooks "champagne". The steaks were mediocre at best. The sauces that were paired with the meats of the main entrees had a prepackaged taste to them and left much to be desired, ultimately taking away from the meat. The entree that came with crab meat was by far the worst. The steak was dry and the crab meat was previously frozen, old and smelled fishy. "Fine dining" should NOT be what this restaurant is considered. This restaurant was reaching beyond its grasp. read more

Highly recommend!! The best meal we have ever had. The best service we have ever had also! Puts Ruth Chris' to shame! We made reservations a few days prior, as we are from out of town. The Chef's made an outstanding meal for us, one had the 9oz filet and one had the chicken with sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. Cooked to perfection. We saw the menu and the prices were high, about the same as Ruth Chris'. Our fantastic waiter always kept our water glasses full, and brought us a sample of some cornbread dressing they had while we waited on our bread. Our waitress Tonya was the best in the world! We noticed they didn't have a kids menu, so guess what, she managed to get chicken fingers and french fries from the next door restaurant for our toddler! I'm telling you, she was so thoughtful. We were all starving and they got us some amazing Rosemary bread. We finished our salads, and out comes Tonya with a mini scoop of lemon sorbet topped with champagne while we waited on our entrees! They were piping hot, side dishes were amazing also! We are still talking about our experience and we will be back for every celebration when we are in town. read more

This was our first time to dine at Fire. We were expecting a great experience and delicious food, sadly it was the exact opposite. First, we unknowingly went on a concert night; the full menu is not offered on a concert night. When we made reservations, we were not informed the whole menu would not be available. Our waitress was very nice but extremely too busy, so she came to our table only a few times. We had to wait for drinks to be refilled and orders to be taken. It took 40 minutes to receive our bill after our table had been cleared at the end of the meal. The rib eyes were so tough that we could not eat them, in fact, the diners at the table beside us sent their rib eyes back. We both wanted to love Fire, however, it's likely that this was our first and last visit. read more
