I've gotten pizza from Fired Pie a number of times and it's always been excellent. Unfortunately, the Avondale location is a huge disappointment, and I won't be patronizing them again. I ordered a pie from them for delivery, and what I got was a pizza that was half topping and half crust. Very little sauce and cheese, but lot's of bare, flat plain pizza shell. It tastes yummy, has great texture and crisps all the way through, not just around the edges. What sets Fired Pie apart from similar places (MOD & Pieology) is the variety of sauces (8 options!) and quality of ingredients! Their mushrooms are roasted! They have so many different meat options (sausage, spicy sausage, salami, pepperoni, grilled chicken, Buffalo chicken, bacon, capicola, meatball, vegan chorizo, Canadian bacon, steak). And seems that lazy Sunday afternoons are for eating here as well. So we decided to come by on a rainy cold Saturday this past weekend, which is unusual for AZ in October. So I get the usual because I can't get away from it. It is just so yummy. Here it is, in all its glory. I know I've listed the ingredients in previous review so I won't this time but try it. I went In this afternoon to order 3 pizzas with Alfredo sauce, after seeing the associate put what looked like Caesar dressing on the pizzas I asked her if she was sure that was Alfredo & she ensured me it was- so much so that another older woman behind the counter chimed in to tell me they changed their Alfredo sauce, so that's why the consistency was different. After completing my order and receiving my pizzas I found out that it in fact was Caesar dressing and not Alfredo. Worst service I've ever experienced and won't be calling that place back, asked if it was okay to place an order and pay cash as long as I put a card on file. I used to really like this place. I love the food! What makes me absolutely furious is that the portions have been so inconsistent and you never know what you will get. I usually get a salad with chicken - this last time I thought they were joking saying my salad was a regular full size. The box was half empty and no joke, I found 3 pieces of chicken in it. Me and my husband placed this order for pick up and we are happy to have finally tried them out. The pizzas are definitely big enough to share but we got two because we couldn't pick between which pizza to try. We got 2 salads. The caeser dressing is good and the spinach was fresh. So they have my vote there. I'm really picky about caeser and there's was great. We ordered a build your own pizza with Alfredo, parmesan and chicken. The crust was fine but I think we'll try another cheese next time. By the time we got it home the cheese had cooled so the pizza was a little chewy. But the flavor was good and we were happy with it. Then we got a margarita pizza. Very nice but I wish there had been more sauce. It was mostly tomato chunks so each bite was a little uneven. The staff was also very helpful and it was ready when they said it would be. And they even offered to remake my whole salad when I accidentally clicked the wrong toppings when ordering online. We told them not to worry about it but I loved they were happy to do it even though it was my fault. The prices were very fair and overall we'd definitely go back.
