I've gotten pizza from Fired Pie a number of times and it's always been excellent. Unfortunately, the Avondale location is a huge disappointment, and I won't be patronizing them again. I ordered a pie from them for delivery, and what I got was a pizza that was half topping and half crust. Very little sauce and cheese, but lot's of bare, flat plain pizza shell. Never again, and I suggest unless you like plain baked pizza crust I'd suggest you go pretty much anywhere else.

Solid craft-your-own pizza place. Even though we came on "training night" we still walked away (as tourists from California) impressed with fired pie. The size and quality of the pies (and the price) exceeded expectation. - Great spot for tourists looking for an easy and affordable dinner... - Plenty of seating inside.

These guys are awesome! We called ahead for cater for 20 pizzas (5 cheese, 5 veggies, 5 pepperoni, and 5 pepperoni and sausage). I was greeted when I got to the counter. I told them I was there to pick up a catering order, they had to all prepared and ready for me. I paid and then they helped me load the pizzas and all the goodies in the trunk. Pizzas were hot and ready for our party!

I really like this little pizza spot. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and made my pizza exactly the way I wanted it, even cooked it perfectly! I am obsessed with their cauliflower crust! It tastes yummy, has great texture and crisps all the way through, not just around the edges. What sets Fired Pie apart from similar places (MOD & Pieology) is the variety of sauces (8 options!) and quality of ingredients! Their mushrooms are roasted! They have so many different meat options (sausage, spicy sausage, salami, pepperoni, grilled chicken, Buffalo chicken, bacon, capicola, meatball, vegan chorizo, Canadian bacon, steak). It's almost impossible to choose your perfect topping combination. This was my 2nd visit to this location and I will be back every time I'm in town!

I have eaten here so much that I don't know which time to talk about! So obviously my family is obsessed with this place. We DoorDas-Ed it about a hundred times this year. And seems that lazy Sunday afternoons are for eating here as well. So we decided to come by on a rainy cold Saturday this past weekend, which is unusual for AZ in October. So I get the usual because I can't get away from it. It is just so yummy. Here it is, in all its glory. I know I've listed the ingredients in previous review so I won't this time but try it. It makes a big difference when you add the oil and garlic base first then go on to build your pizza like you normally would with the red sauce on top.

Great job! Called ahead. Order was hot & ready. One pie: Hawaiian - Canadian bacon, pineapple, bbq sauce, red onion, fresh cilantro. Hit The Spot!

Love their choice of toppings and thin crust and I wasn't a thin crust fan before. My new favorite!

The decor is a bit dark, but chic & colorful. Our server, Esmerelda, was fantastic: funny, attentive, polite. There was a guy there who seemed to be the Jack of all trades. He brought us our food, I saw him behind the bar, and even bussing tables. He, too, was friendly & smiley. Cocktails: they had a great selection but we went with plain ol' Cokes. That's okay, we'll partake of their boozy drinks when we visit again. Food: parmesan truffle fries were aah-mazing. I even told Esmerelda they should add a pizza with the garlic aioli. The buffalo mozzarella had a bit of a kick to the sauce; we could have used more toasted bread to dip into it. We ordered the heaven and bianca pizzas. The crust was thinner than normal, which I was happy about, and the flavors of both were delicious. Dessert: despite not finishing the appetizers & pizza (no worries, we thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers!), we opted for a gelato flight. It was divine, and hefty samples. You wouldn't think 4 oz was much, but of gelato, it was plenty. We selected chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, and mango. If you haven't tried Roma 23, I highly recommend it. Even if you don't live close by, it is worth the drive.

When we did manage to get in, we ordered a glass of pinot noir and Pelligrino to drink. The waitress brought out a glass of white wine and insisted this was their pinot noir... even the bartender confirmed. So the staff is NOT wine savvy, I wouldn't trust their recommendations on pairings here either. They didn't have any Pelligrino left, so I ended up getting an arnold palmer. However, when they brought the check out, the Pelligrino was still on the tab and we had to ask them to take it off. We both got pasta, the lasagna and the chicken masala, and a caesar salad. The noodles tasted like it was made in house, which was nice. Chicken was not overly breaded and the sauce was light. The salad had too much cheese but I think some people just like that on their salad. I'm interested to try their pizza at some point in the future, assuming we can make it in time before they close ;)

Lil Capo Pizzeria 5.0/5 The Closest Thing to New York…read morePizza I've Found in Arizona Growing up in Upstate New York, I admittedly have high standards when it comes to pizza. After moving to Arizona in 2007, I've spent years searching for a slice that genuinely reminds me of home. While there are plenty of decent pizza spots throughout the Valley, very few capture that authentic New York style. Lil Capo Pizzeria absolutely does! Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works. Sometimes simplicity executed well is the hardest thing to accomplish. Pizza: 5/5 Service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. After selecting our slices, they quickly reheated them to perfection and had them on our table within minutes. It's exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizzeria--fast, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable. Service: 5/5 I also appreciated the atmosphere. Lil Capo isn't trying to be flashy or trendy. Instead, it has that classic neighborhood pizzeria feel where the focus stays exactly where it should--on making outstanding pizza. It's casual, comfortable, family-friendly, and somewhere you could easily become a regular. The pricing is another pleasant surprise. Considering the quality of the pizza and the generous slice sizes, I found everything to be very fairly priced. Overall Finding authentic New York-style pizza in Arizona has been surprisingly difficult over the years, but Lil Capo delivers exactly what I've been searching for. Authentic New York-style crust Excellent sauce-to-cheese ratio Minimal grease Friendly, efficient service Fair prices Comfortable neighborhood atmosphere I've eaten pizza throughout New York my entire life, and Lil Capo remains the closest I've found to the real thing anywhere in Arizona. Whenever I'm on the west side of the Valley--or heading to or from a Cardinals game--I find myself looking for an excuse to stop in. Next time, I'm skipping the slices and ordering an entire pie. If you're a fellow New Yorker living in Arizona and craving a slice that tastes like home, Lil Capo should be at the top of your list.

Tucked away in the Westgate Mall, it's a compact, modern little spot that likely gets buzzing during the lunch hour. I moved away to the DC area in 2011, but visited my parents in general around Christmastime. Then, in late January-early February 2021, I helped my parents move across the US to where they live now in Lancaster, PA, only about 100 miles drive instead of a long flight across the US. My dad let me have his birthday free Grimaldi's pizza since they were busy with moving stuff. I drove from my parents far west valley home on the last day they were there for an early dinner on that warm Thursday, January 28, 2021. They had plenty of outside seating, which I opted for. I feel like the inside was closed for dine-in because of Covid, but I was also trying to be cautious as I didn't want to catch Covid while driving my parents across the US. Thankfully, it was a beautiful Sunny & 75 F with calm winds. On that note, on that Sunday 4 days earlier when I left DC, I ate outside before getting to DCA airport (even I think having the option to eat inside) with a cold 38 F high, but I was being super careful before my trip. The server was friendly & efficient. I got a pizza with sausage. It was a thin NY style pizza, which was delicious, although I stopped eating pork later in 2021. But there are a wide variety of toppings, and I would have found something else good that would've worked. Additionally, I opted to buy dessert to be nice; some Oreo cake, which was solid. But the real highlight is their delicious pizza.
