I also wanted a second set of eyes to check all my work and inspect everything once in a while, so I dropped my bike off at Fairfax Cycles. The main service I requested was to replace the front fork and exchange the fork and brake oils. I bought the Ohlins fork from Partszilla and dropped it off at the shop. I was missing some other small parts needed, and they were able to order it for me. I had a budget I wanted to stick to, and they were able to work with me to meet my budget and the services I needed. They were very flexible. For the amount of work done on my bike, I'd say the price was fair. The place is very busy all year round, though. Please set your expectations. You'll likely have to wait to get serviced. You'll also need to pick up ASAP. I felt good about all the services performed on the bike. The installed Ohlins fork makes the bike so much better. Will I come back, a definite yes.

My battery jumper was showing a good battery, too! I spoke with Drew on the phone and asked if he could service my bike. He diagnosed a few different things it could be over the phone, and it turns out it was the battery was dead (as he predicted lol). Within 24 hours or maybe 36, he was able to pick up my bike, have it diagnosed, and provide an accurate estimate of costs. I dropped off some cash to him, and the parts are on order. I am looking to be riding again within a few more days! After speaking some more with him, I found out that Drew is a knowledgeable motorcycle technician and shop manager with over 20 years experience. Josh has done several regular maintenance services (5k, 10k and 15k mile) on my 03 FLSTCI. I found this bike with 4k miles on it a couple of years ago, and Josh has maintained it ever since. This services were timely, my bike was clean with no leaks, and the bike always rode better when I got it back. When you want engine modifications and other modifications, Josh is your guy. Last year Josh upgraded my engine with a big bore kit (88" to 95"), performance cams and hydraulic cam tensioners with double scavenging high-volume oil pump. He also installed an auto-adjust primary chain adjuster. Currently, Josh is working with me on a handbag conversion on my Heritage Softail. Later in the year, it will be powder coating wheels, front end and some engine parts, as well as ceramic coating the exhaust. I picked up a new piston and was having trouble replacing it myself. By luck I ran across his shop. Reached out and he was incredibly responsive and accommodating. I brought the brake master cylinder into him, went to the store down the road, came back and it was fixed. He gave great suggestions for bleeding the cylinder and then the brake lines. So I figured I would give them a chance to sell me a motorcycle - which is my purpose for making the long trip over the mountain. I found the bike I like and asked the 2 closest staff for information (the bikes did not have any tags). The two played hot potato so I went and used their restroom first. When I came back to the same bike, with my helmet and riding jacket in hand, nobody seemed very motivated to want to deal with me. So I left and have decided to see if I can make the purchase from Village Motorsports, 23436 Constitution Hwy, Unionville, VA 22567 instead. Their staff is so much friendlier and actually great you when you enter their facility.

I like the placement of the elevators and bathrooms and entry/exit ways of the building. The parking lot could be a little larger with more spaces... once a few people and moving trucks show up at the same time it makes everything a little crazy. The building is protected by a security keypad and cameras to make you feel safer. I have found a few mouse droppings on top of/in my accessible boxes after leaving my belongings on-site but no boxes had been eaten into (nosey meeces). No food is permitted on-site in case you were wondering. Hopefully that problem gets rectified immediately. I understand that the rodent could have hitched a ride from another patron or broken in from outside of the unit but hopefully the staff have protocols in place to tackle these pests. Other than that the parking lot and interior of the building stay pretty clean. Unfortunately an unplanned factory phone reset erased my pictures.
