With all the snow and having to drive to work, it was a stressful day. On the way to work, I spun out and hit a snow bank. Tow truck was able to get me out, but my check engine light was on. Drove to work, put in my 10 hour shift and drove home, still check engine. I dropped my car off at Firehawk Automotive. They said the would take a look at it to make sure nothing was damaged. Turns out there was snow blocking up the sensor, once it thawed, sensor was fine. No charge, absolutely amazing! Tow truck was expensive (another company), but I was grateful it was available and arrived quickly. Firehawk got me in quickly and gave me the assurance my car was fine (very important with a new baby!) and no charge! I am extremely thankful for them. I think I found a new auto repair place! I was informed about this place by my neighbors after leaving mechanic of 15 years. Everybody is so nice and honest. My car was unsafe to drive, and my former mechanic told me that it was my racket pinion or tie rod but wouldn't know for sure until he starts taking my car apart. I was like no I'll take it home. They guys at Fire Hawk told what was wrong immediately and it was both. They quoted me a price and gave the approval to go ahead and fix it. I expected to not have a car for 2 weeks, but it was done in a few days and my car drives like its brand new again. Oh, it turned out that my former mechanic charged me for new brakes, rotors and pads but turned out this was not the fact. The guys are Fire Hawk caught this issue as well. I am thrilled to say I found a great mechanic who's honest, fair and reliable. Steve, the owner of Firehawk Automotive is that mechanic. He's recently worked on my Kia Shortage as well as VW Beetle I purchased for my granddaughter. In both cases Steve went over them with a fine tooth comb and did all the repairs needed as well as advising me of possible future issues so as to be prepared when the time comes. This is the worst car shop in Cleveland. Brought my car in with a brake issue. The owner of the shop told me what it costs to fix it. No biggie car had more issues than I thought. I asked him to go ahead and fix it, he then tells me he had an issue starting my car and had to take apart my ignition. Now my car won't start and the original issue isn't resolved. Not only will he not work on my car because of the ignition issue, I have completely wasted my time bringing my car here and has more issues than when I brought it in. I was trying to find a repair shop for my daughter's car and took a chance here. She is a medical student and had her car sitting for a couple months while at out of state hospitals. When she returned the dash was lit up and she couldn't drive the car. We had it towed to Firehawk and Steve looked at it right away. It turned out to be a frozen alternator that he tried to break free but couldn't. Long story short, I live in another state and had to trust him. He did the job the same day and charged less than his quote, and my daughter picked it up later that afternoon. I even asked him to look at a leaking power steering unit, and instead of pressuring to get it done he reassured me that it wasn't anything to worry about at this time. The Truck was dropped off to get the fuel pump rewired because it was a temp fix with a split wire. also, making the truck run weird when wet out and not pass an aims test. Because it bypassed the control module. the wire was added to the front fuse box and regularly ran to a fuse box under the backseat of the truck. the truck was taken to them to run a wire from the fuel pump back to the fuse box under the backseat. Wich was explained when dropped off and picked up! when I picked up the truck I was told that both headlights going out at the same time was normal, and I needed a new control module, luckily for me, they had a guy that can fix it.. I explained to them the truck was there to get a fuel pump wire replaced, the control module almost a year old and works good, it just needs to be wire the right way. witch is why it's there now! I told them the old wire from when it was originally wired in was still hanging down from the fuse box still live! and that was the wire I wanted to be replaced! I was told yea we saw that wire hanging and knows exactly what I'm talking about. I then asked why is my bill $166.95 when the work I requested never got done? I was told because they changed the headlights and looked at my truck! I looked at the bill I was charged $40.00 for parts (bulbs) $100.00 Labor for work that was not requested or asked for. they even charged $6.30 for HazMat but no one had a mask or Haz gear on at any time we were there. I don't even have a check engine light on but the receipt says it is on because of faulty ECM??!! When I got home I found out both of my headlights are still out after being charged $20 for each, on top of it they were never given the ok to change them or any other work to my truck but the fuel pump wire!!! I was recommended by a long time friend of a mechanic that works there on top of all that! read more

If you've ever asked yourself (and who hasn't) if only I could find an honest mechanic, then this is the place for you. I've been using this place for my automobiles for about 8 years now and every time I've had some work done I've been impressed with the honesty and quality of work, but this last visit is just unheard of when dealing with any business let alone a mechanic. I took my car in for a check up since it turned 10 years old and was making some weird noises and handling a little strange. I had the owner, Steve give me an estimate of just about $1000 for some things which he found and felt were important to repair since I had told him I was going to be doing some traveling over the summer. Now here's where the honesty part just blows me away. When I picked up the car from the repair work, Steve hands me a bill for under $500, telling me it took them less time than he had thought it would. Now is that an honest business owner and in this case mechanic, or what? I highly recommend this place and I will keep giving them my business for as long as I own a vehicle. read more
