Where add green pepper and not enough meats seem that lazy job to do ?!! I asked for add green pepper and onions w I not happy with them service to make them !

Joy L.

Use the drive through- the gentleman who waited on me was a hoot! He was very helpful and clearly likes his job. He gave me the low down as well as all the ways I can earn savings through the app and surveys and what-not. Service was quick, sub was tasty. I got the cold Italian. The reason for 4 stars... the bread they use is awful... it's got way too much sugar in it and ruins the sandwich (ala Subway). Its completely wrong...too soft.. I'm from Jersey and very particular about subs. Hoagie bread should be soft on the inside and hard on the outside. The meat and cheese was far superior the the sandwich competition in the area through. All in all I think most people will enjoy these sammies.

I consider Firehouse Subs one of the top sub restaurants in the World. The bread is always fresh and tasty. The variety of custom and house subs ingredients are always fresh, ample and numerous. The custom subs provide a variety of really premier variations aptly named to honor the fireman they support. The additional ingredients that you can add include just about everything you might want to had to recipe for a really satisfying meal. I drive from Eagle River to far south Anchorage just to get my fix of Firehouse subs. Well worth the drive and conveniently very near the Cabelas Store.

VERY Small Italian Sandwich
James A.

Was on the south side of town to get some auto parts and thought I'd forgo A Subway sandwich for a Firehouse Sub. My mistake. I enter and decide to order a small Italian sandwich with chips and drink. When the sandwich was delivered I was SHOCKED! The sandwich is like 4 inches long. It's 1/2 the size of a Subway 6" Italian. Pretty much the same price as A 6" Subway sandwich. Guess that's why the Firehouse Subs are few and far between. Can't stay in business long with "Values" like this.

If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered for the first time in Grubhub. Waited 40 min for my food to arrive. As you can see by the receipt it clearly says NO ONIONS NO MAYO. As you can see by the pictures - ONIONS AND MAYO. I could smell it before I even opened it and knew it was wrong. Let's not even talk about that gross undercooked bacon. I called the store, spoke to the manager who asked IF I WANTED TO COME GET A NEW ONE. If I wanted to come to your store I wouldn't have waited 40 minutes for delivery!!!! Complete waste of money. It's straight to the trash. They did nothing to rectify this. Told me to contact Grubhub!!! Never again Not sure what I'll do for dinner now. Not waiting 40 min for something else. ------------- Your response is even worse. There will be NO NEXT TIME. You've done nothing to make this right. Terrible customer service. Tell GrubHub about the incorrect order?? They didn't do anything wrong. You did!!!!

Been since in Jacksonville, FL since we last ate at Firehouse Subs!
Richard N.

Just like I remember it in Jacksonville, FL! Where the Original Restaurant started from. Got what I always get. The Steak and Cheese Large Sub on white bread. The bread is toasted with the meats and cheeses and steamed. We substituted the peppers out and get the mushrooms instead. First bite was heavenly with the sauce that defines that sandwich. All sandwiches come with a nice dill pickle too! We had heard about the Mayor closing all dine in today at 5:00 PM in Anchorage because of the damn virus. When we walked in the chairs were all put up, either stacked against the wall or put on top the tables you see at closing time. They'll be open for Delivery through Grubhub and take out too. So you can still get it but no dine in. I attached a photo of a coupon $12 off your first order of $15+ but you must be new to Grubhub. Keep the restaurants going folks this is going to be a rough time, temporarily! I like what they represent too! Donations to Fire Stations all over America contributing life saving equipment. Carry on Firehouse!

Ham cheese and lettuce + chicken dumpling soup
Tamara D.

Very good. We went through the drive thru only and it was definitely worth the wait. I just got a ham, cheese and lettuce large sub, my husband picked a large sub (honestly can't remember which one but i actually hardly saw it because he ate it so fast), a kids ham and cheese sub meal, and a cup of chicken dumpling soup. The soup could've used more chicken, but was good. The ham in my ham and cheese sub was the sweetest ham I've ever had. Might be too sweet for some people, but I absolutely loved it. The sizes are perfect to share, my son and I split my sandwich, and my brother took half of my husbands. We'd definitely go back, I'm surprised I haven't gone sooner. The kids fireman hat was a huge hit with my two year old.

Kids grilled cheese, not warm, not grilled. Went straight in the garbage.

My partner got the Reuben and I got the Smokin' Mo Sandwich which is brisket, cheese and bbq. Finally some good brisket in town!! It was so good and tender. I was very happy with my order. It comes with a pickle which was nice and garlicky mmm mmm! Chips and slaw are optional sides, but I didn't partake. I also got latkes as I haven't had them since I was a child. They were good. They come with the traditional applesauce and sour cream. I found the portions generous - I came home with half a sandwich and 2 latkes to eat for dinner. The place is clean and has plenty of seats. They do breakfast all day. They also have Dr Browns soda from NY available by the can or case. The pickles can be bought too and all of their meats by the pound. We plan on coming to get some of the by the pound meats at another time. Staff was very friendly and helpful with answering any questions we had. Will definitely be back.

Unfortunate that this is the day I decided it was about time I left a review for House Of Bread…read more House of Bread is a lovely space, airy light dining room, and lots of baked goods, and artisanal-looking jarred goods. It feels very open. They have a menu on the wall, and a chalkboard with the types of bread available that day. Husband orders cheesy broccoli soup, and she tells him "it's not really cheesy broccoli soup, it's got lots of veggies in it too" ok, he says, but still orders a bowl. I choose Tuna Salad, and I select 14 grain as my bread choice - "sorry, we're out of that", so I then choose 9 grain - "sorry, we're out of that", and so I ask for marbled rye - "sorry, we're out of that too" I'm really quite surprised, as it's 12.30 like prime lunch time, and they're out of 3 breads already? Maybe cross them off your chalkboard, so you don't have to keep disappointing people. So i choose focaccia with my fingers crossed, and all was well. The order was complete at 12.36. We sit. We wait. Twiddling our fingers. By 20 minutes I'm becoming impatient, because I'm hangry, and the dining room is not that full - maybe 5 tables. As there are 4 staff working behind the counter (could be more round the back in the bakery) I think service could be faster, to dish up a bowl of premade soup, and assemble a cold tuna salad sandwich. Anyway i get my eye on the young man making sandwiches. He's not wearing gloves, is running his fingers through his hair, and touching his face. I see a sandwich that was on the top of the shelf, and it either fell, or he threw it, onto presumably a bench below, and then reach up angrily for a new bag of bread, I don't know - maybe he made it wrong, and was starting over. By 1.02, (26 minutes later) husband could take it no more and went to get a refund. This is not the review I expected to be leaving today, as I've never had service like this here before. I've never gone here before and had to choose my bread 4 times, due to them running out. I've never had to wait so long for lunch using pre-made ingredients. I don't know what was going on, but it's nothing like all the other times we've been here, and I hope it's a one off. If I go back and see the same staff, I'll just walk straight out again and avoid another experience like this one.

My friend wanted to stop by on her way from work & I remembered how impressed I was back in the Fall. I don't know what happened between then and now but I won't be going back. We stopped in just after 5pm, Thursday April 2nd. I saw a few things I was interested in buying for the family, but I had the feeling someone was staring at us. I looked up and saw the younger girl with multi-colored hair glaring at us while the older girl with colored hair was stacking chairs on tables. Google said they closed at 6pm, so I'm assuming she was mad we were interrupting their pre-close. After seeing the flattest "brownies", flatter than a cookie, the soggy zucchini bread with no date on the wrapper, the glare from the young girl behind the register and not one single "Hi" from the 3 employees working, ( the 3rd one was eating a sandwich behind the counter), I decided not to buy a single thing & not to ever come back. My friend bought 4 items & the glaring girl only spoke when she said the total, not even a "Would you like a bag?", "Thank You", "Enjoy your bread" or "Have a good night." Too bad. My friend & I were looking forward to having a coffee & snack & catching up after work.

I didnt take a picture because it was so cold out and my hands were frozen, but it was a beautiful, elongated bakery treat. It had lovely purple Ube cream and touch of oreo crumbs on top, the base was essential much like a flat cruller, but if higher quality. It was sensational! I bought my husband something that looked lower carb that had coffee cream that also enjoyed. I got my husband custom cold jasmine sugar free tea, and I got a frosty honeydew melon drink. It's like a croissant baked in a waffle form, but a bit denser than a regular croissant. What really made it special was the Ube cream -- a light, buttery frosting that wasn't too sweet. Easily a 10/10 for me. I also ordered the Ube Cruffin, which had that same croissant-like texture in a muffin shape. The inside had a light cream filling, and the top was covered with the same Ube cream. It was good, but not quite as amazing as the Croffle -- 7/10. The Ham Banh Mi was tasty and filling (6/10), and the Boba Milk Tea was decent too (6/10). Oh and I got to taste their smoked salmon chowder that my friend ordered. Very good flavor, body, and richness (8/10). Everything I had was good but nothing that was as memorable as the Ube Croffle, but it wasn't cheap -- I spent a total $32 for a sandwich, drink and 2 pastries. Then again, prices in Alaska tend to be higher in general. Overall, even though I've only been once, I'd definitely come back for that Ube Croffle -- it was the real highlight!

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room.
