My receipt that shows our order and the outrageous fees!

Delivery? NEVER AGAIN! I LOVE Firehouse Subs, and yes, I was lazy, so I ordered delivery. $24 for associated delivery, service, and tip fees!!!! AND--the GrubHub Driver didn't greet me at the door (as specified), and STOLE our drink and chips. Props to GrubHub for giving credit back to my card. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Service: 5 stars hands down. Sandra and her coworkers were amazing. Sandra was at the register and was so cheery and friendly. She greeted everyone with a smile and when asking for your name she thanks you for coming in. When I left she said bye Dan and that's the type of customer service a place can only dream of having. Ambience : 4 stars. Could use a remodel , but it was very clean. Food: 5 stars- food came out warm and tasted fresh. They didn't skimp of the meat or toppings. If the food was bad I would still go back just because of Sandra! Keep up the great work Firehouse Subs.

Kids and I really enjoyed our first visit. Subs are moist, juicy, tasty, flavorful and fairly sized and priced. The added pickle spear is crunchy and flavorful. It really helps that the guy helping us was just terrific. Dining space is open, well lit, and clean.

Friendly service. A nice "welcome" greeting upon entering and a "have a nice day" salutation on exit. You'll never mistake where you are when you walk in the door. Firehouse memorabilia and decor throughout. Lots of red and white and it works. Always clean and lots of tables. Order and pay at the counter. Subs and salads made while you wait. TVs above to keep your attention if you forgot your cell phone which is what captures most people's attention these days especially while we wait for something. Delicious hot and cold sub sandwiches priced a little higher than similar places but well worth it. Get the special which throws in some chips and a drink. Love the included pickle wedge. Small strip mall area with limited shared parking but there's a huge lot right there for the shopping center, so no problem.

I have given you three tries, and this is the last time! I waited 20 minutes for a stake and cheese. People came in after me and left with their food! Are you kidding me when there where only 3 costumers in the whole restaurant?

Nice pa hinting. Goes with thhe theme.

I've been trying to make it here since I moved in Phoenix but never stopped in. Tonight we made it in. The decor was nice. I didn't expect it to be so literal. I loved the uniforms hanging by the door. There was only one option for me,veggie. It includes sauteed mushrooms, onions, tomatoe, lettuce, cheese, peppers, mayo and I'm not sure if mustard. They steam and toast the bread. It was a bit messy but good. My only complaint, for a small it was a bit tiny. My other half and I were the only ones in there ordering, everyone seated were already eating, and it took quite sometime to get my sandwich. So allow time if your on a schedule so you can eat comfortably. I do like the idea that they give back to the community with the sales they make. It's kinda awesome. I think I will be back. Why? The sandwich might be better in the larger portion. Besides, I love toasted sandwiches

Absolutely amazing every time! I miss the lemons. However very consistent and I love the ice tea! Great place for a quick sandwich with all the options! I stop at this location every chance I get. Sandra is extremely sweet and really adds personal touch!

I ate the first half of my TO GO Order LARGE Engineer, February 4th 2015
    Riza H. C.

Wednesday February 4th 2015. Time was at 19:25hrs ish. This establishment is always busy whenever we came either to dine in or have TO GO orders. I think Hubs favorite sandwiches is becoming to be from this establishments. Furthermore, this establishment is close by where we live. Every single time, he said, can we go here. In addition to that Hubs said, they offer MORE variety as compared to the other Sandwich establishments in town he used to go. Hence to this establishment we went "again". This time around for TO GO ORDERS are : * LARGE Engineer ($8.49) * LARGE Steamer with Wheat Bread ($8.49) * Capt. Sorensen's Datil Pepper Grilled Chicken ($5.89) Our Dinner TO GO with tax was about $24.82. Overall, Hubs like it. But this time around, if I am NOT mistaken, my order of LARGE Engineer, do not contain the Hot Pepper, when we requested for it to be in my order. *SIGH* Maybe they are swamped with the Dinner RUSH Hour. Maybe this is an isolated incident. Nevertheless, they still received 3.5 stars in our books due to the variety that they offer. The service is fast. Perhaps next time, when we return, I would rather have my order, dining in, though I can be torn about this decision. It really gave me RVA (Richmond, VA circa early 2000s) nostalgia vibes like for places I worked in around Broadway during college! Wow. Love everything about this place. I'd been going to a lot of coffee shops lately where the style is all like new stuff and new style (which I LOVE) but the style of Tessa Delicatessen was so unexpectedly refreshing. I didn't realize that this part of Colfax was Park Hill! I saw a lot of other interesting places nearby. Can't wait to go back and wander! Not sure if it was the owner that greeted me at the register but she was very friendly and warm. I love the self serve coffee and water and you get to pick a unique mug to drink from. Really strong neighborhood vibe and I think she said it had been open since 2017. So cool! I'm obsessed with the spaciousness and space! My breakfast sandwich did explode all over my hand - so be careful! The egg is soft inside! I got coffee, cheesy hash and the breakfast sandwich. $25 for everything including tip. I think that's a great deal for a lovely morning vibe and breakfast in 2026!

We started with their traditional black eyed pea soup because good luck traditions matter. Shortly after, I "found" three dollars in my coat pocket. Was it already my change from the store? Yes. Did I still credit the soup? Also yes. From there, we leaned fully into deli mode. The cheeseburger was solid and satisfying, the Reuben hit all the right notes, and the macaroni salad was exactly what you want it to be. No frills, just done right. Dessert sealed the deal. The cheesecake was rich without being heavy, and the carrot cake was genuinely excellent. Tessa feels like one of those neighborhood spots you can come back to again and again. Comforting, straightforward, and very good at what they do. Fortune and prosperity aside, this place is worth a visit on its own.

While the former Ambli space has been brightened and renovated to look very much like an east shore market, the seating is less than comfortable. I guess the combo of poor food, bad service and uncomfortable seating is great for turning tables? I will put aside the TERRIBLE service and focus purely on the food. We ate at Zaidy's for breakfast. Many of the breakfast sandwiches are based on their in-house-made bagels. This is a failure! The bagels taste stale for "freshly made" and I find it very odd for a Jewish-themed joint to toss bacon into the sandwich (I personally love bacon, BTW). So setting aside the shanda (shame) bacon...with the cheese, there is an utter lack of seasoning. The breakfast sandwich came with home fried potatoes which were cooked nice and crisp but lacking any seasoning whatsoever. The latke grilled cheese looks appealing but is basically a greasy sponge filled with limp tomato and undercoooked cheese. And finally, the blintzes are an embarrassment to any self-respecting Jew. Zaddy's version are these small pockets that are under fried and more the size of a hamantaschen than a true blinze. I see no reason to rush back. Another few blocks down the street is Sam's 3, where a far better breakfast could be realized and Rosenberg's bagel on Monoco for better bread (albeit that Rosenberg's doesn't serve sandwiches)

We finally made our first trip to the Hilltop location…read more We hail from DC, so we were surprised we learned about Call Your Mother after moving to Denver. Thank goodness we did! Their bagels are inspired by both New York and Montreal styles, giving them a perfectly chewy texture with just a hint of sweetness. They're fantastic on their own, but they really shine as the foundation for these breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the Thunderbird, and as someone who normally avoids both salt & pepper bagels (I know...weird) and sweet-and-savory combinations, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out I was completely wrong. The maple chicken sausage, fluffy bodega-style eggs, melty American and cheddar, spicy honey, and maple salt & pepper bagel somehow create the perfect balance. Nothing overpowers anything else, and every bite just works. My friend had the Pastrami Sun City, which was equally outstanding. The pastrami was tender and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the spicy honey added just the right amount of sweetness without stealing the show. We also ordered the latkes, served with both sour cream and applesauce. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and exactly what you want from a great potato pancake. Being able to switch between the tang of the sour cream and the sweetness of the applesauce made them even better. And don't leave without grabbing a Chocolate Babka Muffin. It has that rich chocolate swirl you'd expect from babka with a crunchy, sugary exterior that's impossible to resist. The colorful, upbeat atmosphere matches the food, and it's clear this place has developed its own identity instead of trying to imitate a traditional deli. That's refreshing. Service is friendly and quick. We saw several people picking up ordrs to go as well. For a first visit, this was a home run. We'll absolutely be back - and next time we're diving into more of the bagels and schmears. Denver is lucky to have a spot like this.
