Omg. This was yesterday over on east Colfax. I was originally going to try Park Hill Hub but the wait was too long so I wandered across the street to this gorgeous spacious eatery! It really gave me RVA (Richmond, VA circa early 2000s) nostalgia vibes like for places I worked in around Broadway during college! Wow. Love everything about this place. I'd been going to a lot of coffee shops lately where the style is all like new stuff and new style (which I LOVE) but the style of Tessa Delicatessen was so unexpectedly refreshing. I didn't realize that this part of Colfax was Park Hill! I saw a lot of other interesting places nearby. Can't wait to go back and wander! Not sure if it was the owner that greeted me at the register but she was very friendly and warm. I love the self serve coffee and water and you get to pick a unique mug to drink from. Really strong neighborhood vibe and I think she said it had been open since 2017. So cool! I'm obsessed with the spaciousness and space! My breakfast sandwich did explode all over my hand - so be careful! The egg is soft inside! I got coffee, cheesy hash and the breakfast sandwich. $25 for everything including tip. I think that's a great deal for a lovely morning vibe and breakfast in 2026!

Tessa Delicatessen was our first stop of the year, and if inviting prosperity involves eating well, we absolutely did it right. We started with their traditional black eyed pea soup because good luck traditions matter. Shortly after, I "found" three dollars in my coat pocket. Was it already my change from the store? Yes. Did I still credit the soup? Also yes. From there, we leaned fully into deli mode. The cheeseburger was solid and satisfying, the Reuben hit all the right notes, and the macaroni salad was exactly what you want it to be. No frills, just done right. Dessert sealed the deal. The cheesecake was rich without being heavy, and the carrot cake was genuinely excellent. Tessa feels like one of those neighborhood spots you can come back to again and again. Comforting, straightforward, and very good at what they do. Fortune and prosperity aside, this place is worth a visit on its own.

The wagyu bacon burger is banging!! It is accompanied with perfectly fried shoe string fries that ARE not overdone like most restaurants serve. Best tasting burger.

Randomly stopped in for lunch and apparently made an excellent life decision. Tessa was SO nice and the sandwich was legit. I got the turkey and the bread was fantastic. Like, "why is this bread this good?" fantastic. Fresh, delicious, and exactly what you want from a neighborhood deli. Came in hungry, left happy and emotionally attached to a turkey sandwich. 10/10.

Meh. Of all the places we've tried this trip, this was the least impressive. Over priced and lackluster. Service was whatever. Brought out burnt French toast, umm sorry it's raw inside, barely cooked on one side & black on the other - how embarrassing. When I brought it up they just looked at it and me.... listen if it SMELLS burnt ? HARD PASS. Overall just an unfortunate way to wrap up an otherwise amazing vaca....

Went in for lunch with my mom and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Caprese on ciabatta, even though I'm usually not a ciabatta fan, but this was honestly the best ciabatta I've ever had. Soft, rustic, not dense at all. The sandwich was delicious overall, though the tomatoes were a little mushy. My mom had the tuna salad on sourdough and liked it. The space is roomy with plenty of seating, and they were playing The Grinch, which made it feel festive. I'd say the food was a bit overpriced and the water station could use a serious glow up, but otherwise everything was solid.

It's a 6/5 next question. Come here for literally whatever you're in the mood for. They have everything! Staff is 10/5. So nice so friendly! We couldn't decide which soup to get so she gave us samples!! Both were amazing. I got the bacon egg Sammy and it was fire. Perfect amount of Pesto, egg friend perfectly and the milk bun really made it!! The chopped cheese was phenomenal and will 100% get that when I come back. It was sooo tasty

This deli is right off Colfax and provides a pretty wide array of quality deli sandwiches. Parking is going to be street parking, but shouldn't be too hard to find. The inside is quite spacious with lots of seats with lots of cute plants. The sandwich itself is pretty good - I would say that the sandwich bread here is exceptional. I will say that the sandwiches here ain't cheap, but they are pretty big and filling.

Tessa is the name. Great service and personality. Sandwich was AMAZING. Such a chill vibe there and I love the open space.

    OG and cup of minestrone.

Ordered the OG and it was delicious. Ingredients tasted fresh. Sam the cashier was very welcoming and had great attitude. The place was packed for lunch but service was very quick. Don't be turned off by the location though.

There's also ample outdoor seating, depending on the weather. The menu has many delectable items making it hard to choose, in a good way. In fact, if I lived in Denver, I'd go back again and again to try everything. The "newer" items include Thai curry lentil soup (which was excellent). grilled kabobs, marinated artichokes, esquites, picked cauliflower (excellent and very tart), dolmas (good, standard dolma), a braised pork sandwich, pimento grilled cheese, and many other items from which to choose. The more traditional items are the classic pastrami, reuben, turkey club, and more, plus a meat / deli counter, giving Leven solid delicatessen cred. The french curry potato salad was excellent. The BLT was one of the best ever had according to my friend. The focaccia & mozzarella was amazing as well. For dessert and I admit an impulse buy at the register, the chocolate, tahini, malted milk brownie was thick, decadent, unique and even better the next day. Great location near the Denver Art Museum, making it a great stop after or before perusing the museum, but probably after because you'll be hungry - you gotta eat something. 5/5, 8.5/10.

I rarely leave a review weighted by anything but the food but I found everything about this place…read moreto be so irritating that I can't help myself. The lack of hospitality and thoughtfulness outside the food is regrettable. The first thing in the door you wonder what you're supposed to do. Someone finally came to get us to direct us but you walk to the back of the restaurant and order at the counter. It's really loud so you need to really listen and speak up. It's night club music. Really bad and inexplicably inappropriate for a restaurant. Who's this for? The employees? I couldn't wait to leave 15 minutes into my visit. They have pepper grinders over by the self serve water station. All empty. We asked the person behind the counter and she said she was surprised that they still had those out there and pointed us to the other side of the restaurant where they have those pepper shakers with the bland tasteless stuff. She didn't go get the grinders. They were there for the entire visit. Someone came by and offered us free biscuits. Neither of us wanted one. We couldn't hear what she was saying. I shook my head no but she left one. She wasn't really interested in our response and you could tell she wasn't interested in doing what she was doing at all. We didn't touch it. My wife ordered tomato soup and a southwest salad. She said neither were special. I liked my pastrami Reuben but thought the pickles were unnecessarily spicy. Way over the top for no reason. Someone knows how to bake bread and that's the only nice thing I'm going to say about this restaurant. DoorDash maybe?

Lou's was a cute & cozy deli that made us the most amazing Italian style sandwiches. They also had home made pastas, speciality grocery items & catering. There was limited indoor seating with one table for six, some counter seating & an outdoor patio. We parked on the street. We ordered the Chicken Parm & the Fried Prosciutto BLT Sandwiches online & ate there. Our order was ready right on time & the staff were friendly & fast. The Chicken Parm was delicious - a nicely seasoned chicken cutlet with fresh mozzarella & a very flavorful marinara sauce. My favorite was the Fried Prosciutto BLT, it was fantastic. The prosciutto was crispy & was instead of bacon. In addition, there was shredded lettuce, tomato & a great tasting garlic aioli on a toasted Ciabatta Roll. I loved this place - I can't wait to go back!
