Tuna Salad Sub - large size
    Rabia J.

In firehouse Subs I like their Tuna sub. I did an order online and they processed it fairly quickly. I added some additional toppings like sautéed mushrooms that tasted really good. The sub it self was pretty good with the bread being fresh and the tuna quality was good. The seasoning was alittle less but I added some more salt and pepper when I got home. My order was a pick up order due to covid I'm not dining at restaurants for the most part it's just pick up orders. However they do have a dining area and it's clean and when I was there only one patron was sitting and eating. It seems like most people are getting orders delivered or getting picked up. When you want a good quality sub this place is the way to go ~

This is more of a review of FH in general and not necessarily this location. Their steak and cheese is mediocre at best. It tastes like the same meat as Subway but a little sweeter (which did not enhance it). I really wish they would leave a hinge on the bread, when I picked it up and as I held it, so much stuff fell out. It needed a third side to help keep everything in. It was just a mess. I'm not going to rush back to a FH Subs anytime soon.

No jalapeños and no bacon as I ordered.

I was just at this location and pretty much everything was wrong with this store. My online order was completely wrong. I paid additional for additional toppings which were not put on my sub. The restaurant was very dirty and nasty. The staff were rude, no 'welcome to firehouse' it was more like a blank stare while I looked for my online order on the counter. The drink station was nasty and the floor had a puddle near the drinks. I want my money back for receiving the incorrect order.

    Sixty ice tea pitcher.

This place is a disaster. The drink station had a dirty ice tea pitcher just sitting there and ice tea on the floor. Nobody cleaned it up the entire time we were there. The front door window was boarded up and it looked like the front picture window had a bullet hole in it. The food was ok and the service was indifferent.

This is the worst firehouse I've ever been too. They got both of the orders wrong. Completely. The roast beef is terrible. The cucumbers are a joke. It's soggy and disgusting. They forgot the pickles. It taste repulsive. The service took forever and the staff all looked miserable and were unfriendly. Don't go here.

Does this look like toasted to perfection to you? Looks burnt and gross to me!

There were so many good choices on the menu that intrigued me (including the steak bomb, buff chic, and italian) but OF COURSE I had to try their beef carpaccio sub... it is truly life changing. Fresh crusty baguette, delicious tasty beef carpaccio, fried onion strings with balsamic??? it is just outstanding. In my opinion, it is worth it to get the boxed lunch. IT came with a ginger lemonade, fresh kettle chips, and a delicious chocolate chip cookie with sea salt. omg. and of course a pickle too. This place is just next level. I cant wait to try the shop in the Gables and to also try some different sandwiches on the menu. Pro tip: place your order ahead of time because it will take about 20 minutes for them to make the sandwich.

Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. It was mediocre at best and honestly felt more on par with something you'd get at Olive Garden than at a restaurant with this kind of vibe and price point. On top of that, the service was quite slow, which made the overall experience feel even more underwhelming. If you're going for drinks, music, and ambiance, it may be worth a visit. But if you're expecting the food and service to match the atmosphere, it falls short.

Laspada had a lit up sign in the window saying they're "open." I seem to recall Next Door Boca giving them decent reviews. I am a native of Philly, hometown of the hoagie. I thought I'd give this place a try. I ran from my car through the rain and tugged on the door....locked. The door hours say open at 11! So much for the lit "open" sign. They have outdoor metal tables and chairs under an awning. I sat at an outdoor table for ten minutes. I looked through the storefront window at a couple employees prepping and I read the wall menu. A guy unlocked the place at 11. I let a young family and several other guys go ahead of me. Guy at the slicing wheel waited on me. I ordered a small Mama Lastrada turkey & salami on wheat. There's about a half dozen employees behind the counter dealing with the assembly line of customers and sandwiches. Guy at the slicing wheel tells me one of the other guys will work on my sandwich. Okay. However, I can't move down the line because there's customers still lined up ahead of me waiting for their food. Slicing wheel guy looks up at me a minute later and asks what he can get for me. I look back at him waiting for him to recognize me from a minute ago when he already had sliced my order. No recognition! I repeated my order to him. Now he remembers me! He again refers me to one of his junior sandwich prep guys. I overheard him telling a busy junior guy, "This is just a small Mama on wheat" or something like that. Still, I can't go down the line because there's guy ahead of me had placed an order for 3 sandwiches. I swear to you that the slicing wheel guy asks me for a THIRD time for my order! By this time, I felt like I was in a Monty Python sketch. I repeated my order. Again, he refers me to a third junior associate (Manny, Moe, and Jack)? Finally, a young associate asked me for toppings. I had noticed two lettuce bins. One bin looked fine. The other looked a little brown. I decided to skip the lettuce rather than ask him to pick from the left hand bin and embarrass them. I also saw a black speck in the onion bin. It probably was nothing but I decided to skip onions just to be safe. I chose tomatoes, Swiss cheese, pickles and sweet peppers. The debit card reader asks if I want to tip. I skipped that. Price was reasonable. Hoagie was okay. The roll was soggy. Philly hoagie shops pride themselves on their rolls. I understand this is Florida, not Philly. I can appreciate this place is popular and busy. However, being asked for my order 3 times by the same experienced worker there left me feeling less than special as a customer.

Despite the lack of a/c and rough conditions they were in, the staff were super friendly behind the counter. My husband and I orders some delicious subs on fresh sesame seed bread. We also ordered a cannoli which they hand fill. It was the best cannoli I have had in South Florida and tasted like the ones I used to enjoy from the North End in Boston. Finally a great cannoli! Due to the power issue, it was a little dark inside. However, this is a true, lived in authentic Italian deli. Again, if you're from up North, you will feel like you are at home here. We split the Chicken Cutlet Florentine and it was absolutely incredible. Heads up: the full size is massive, so splitting it is definitely the move and still totally worth it!! The service was super friendly despite how busy it was. I had my eye on the black & white cookie too because what's an authentic Italian deli without one? Sounds like my next visit to Boca includes trying more stuff!

We grabbed three sandwiches to go, one of which was a burger. The super messy Malone (rated #1 by entire family), the Smoked Texas, and the Vodka Chicken Cutlet hoagie. 50 bucks before tip and we are told we got some hits. Next time we want Cheesesteak and the Smoked Brisket sandwich. That's right, next time. The burger was hands down loved by family and the bbq sauce felt original versus bottled. The pork was moist and we would only request a medium burger if possible. We forgot as the lines were moving and many have questions for register attendant. The Smoked Texas fell a little flat after the burger. The meat was way too diced for pastrami and the creamy aioli was a tad too much in quantity. Wife did not think the sesame seeded bread was right fit. Had we ordered this alone it might have been a partial hit but fell with its competitors. Perhaps a high end Rachel as a worthy replacement ?? The piece left for next day was quite oily and meat was over chopped and disintegrating. Finally came the cutlet hoagie stuffed with breaded chicken, sheets of cheese, and the soft light and super creamy and slightly sweet Vodka sauce. This sauce could also be a late night drink or poured on many items. Yum ....
