They also serve soups and sandwiches too, so you can pick up a meal here. There's nothing too hip or exceptional, but it delivers. They do offer a few deserts, but I don't believe I saw more elaborate items such as cakes. The deli counter seemed to have recognizable, middle-of-the-road brands such as Brandt and Pillars. I didn't pay attention to the pricing, but I just caught another review afterwards that said they sell cheaper than grocery stores. If that's the case, it may be worth coming here for that then. I picked up a marble rye, hot dog buns and cheese sticks, as well as a date square. All were perfectly fine, but nothing that jumped out at me - apart from the date square. If my review was on that alone, I would give it 5 stars. I don't care if people bug me and call me an old man, I love date squares and theirs is loaded with dates - easily twice as much as most others. For that reason, along with being close to work, I can see myself making regular stops here.

The staff was very attentive and answered all our questions with great patience. After we placed our order it arrived at our table in just a few minutes. Everyone raved about the large portions and the exceptional quality of our food. Although it was around $70 for the 3 of us i think it was worth it. I haven't enjoyed a meal like this in a very long time. Dining mid afternoon is unquestionably a good idea , missing both the morning rush and the dinner rush as well.

She shared with me what was fresh and made sure that it was on my plate. You cannot go there without having a black cherry with the combo or anything smoked meat. It's a must. I had tried other deli's proclaiming Montreal style smoked meat, but they all were so salty that not only did your blood pressure go through the roof, but you ended up with a giant headache. I will not disclose names. Here, the balance of flavours is ideal and just salty enough. Your timing will be everything with regards to finding parking and the noise level. Going between rush hour periods will guarantee a better experience. Enjoy!

Lovely gem in the airport past security…read more I was really beginning to hate my life and regret not picking up Wendy's before I went through security when I happened upon this gem. I'm extremely glad I found this place as there doesn't appear to be much available food wise at the airport apart from fast food options like Starbucks. There is booster juice as well but let's be honest that's not a full sit down meal. . I was about to give you and go to Starbucks when I found this place. It's after security near C30 and in addition to all day breakfast serves surprisingly good sandwiches. I settled on the crispy sandwich which came topped with coleslaw and Russian dressing on a tasty and fresh brioche bun. It came served with fries and dripping in pickles and their juices (despite me requesting no pickles). The chicken was an extremely crispy and well seasoned and did its name justice. The fries were nothing to write home about and a bit greasy and room temperature unfortunately. The portion was also extremely tiny. Service was good with my server making suggestions that he thought were better value for money. My dish came in at $23 for example and there was a two piece southern fried chicken meal with veggies option available for $25 so he made this suggestion. I didn't waver though because I'm a huge fan of brioche and I was really happy with my sandwich choice. I almost ordered a second sandwich just for the brioche bun but I couldn't justify paying almost $50 for an average airport meal. This place is off near the c30+ gates and is a nice little oasis with tables set up in 2 and 4 toppers. You also have the option of sitting in the bar or grabbing something to go from the deli counter. I chose to sit and eat alone (as I'm traveling by myself) but this was in no way uncomfortable since I got to enjoy lovely views of planes pulling in and out of the gate out the large window on the far side of the restaurant. Not a bad way to start my trip. Glad I found this place. I'd try it again if I am at the airport and haven't had time to eat before getting here.

Sumi Fernando, the owner, worked 17 years at Schwartz's in Montreal, including head cutter. Do your taste buds a favor and get a smoked meat sandwich with meat that's marinated for 10 days, smoked for eight hours and steamed for three hours. This is incredibly delicious! The combo also comes with seasoned fries, coleslaw, and a whole pickle. Service I came mid afternoon and it wasn't busy. Service was prompt, and the food came out quickly. If you wanna taste something like Schwartz's in Montreal or even Katz's diner in Manhattan, then come to SumiLicious in Scarborough.

I think my rating would be way higher if more effort was put into the construction of the sandwich to complement the pastrami... Like the bread and toppings just didn't do anything to help the meat (which was delicious on its own). I do like that you can choose the kind of mustard you want as well as the cut of pastrami (lean, fatty, both, etc.) For a simple and quick pastrami sandwich, it does the job but I don't think it's worth the Michelin recommendation... This spot gets hyped up EVERYWHERE online but I think that just comes from lack of abundance for this type of food. If you're willing to make a trip for a WAY better fresh pastrami/smoked meat experience, head on over to When The Pig Came Home at the Junction in TO. You won't be disappointed.
