The rude manager with green hair is a complete Pysco She spit on my friend I came in with. They had attitude and were acting weird so he wanted to watch them make his sub. They did not want him watching, instead of spitting in his food she just spit on him. We received partial refunds. I got a decently good video of her acting unprofessional I will release. Franchise owner is not any better. Obviously a problem from the top down. She started cursing at me while trying to review the incident and was lying about things said and done. In the past, we were always pleased with the service and food. Today our veggie subs came with only lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. They both were missing cheese, mushrooms, peppers. When I brought my sub to the counter the person who made my sub told me twice that the missing items were there, even after I asked her to come over and look it. The second time she turned her back on me. I have tolerance for mistakes but not bad attitude. So, I paid $23 for two subs that we missing half the ingredients and poor customer service. I am a sub connoisseur. I have tried all the different sub places that this area has to offer. Today was my first visit. The sub I got was tasty. The deli mustard gives it a "sweeter" taste than other normal subs I get. Sub was also served warm. Usually I eat subs cold but it was still good. Good portion of meats and veggies and the bread was soft. So in general a good sandwich. I got a side of mac'n'cheese with my meal and it wasn't my favorite. It was cold and the noodles tasted and felt like cardboard. They were fully cooked but the noodles were thick and grainy. And the cheese sauce was basically milk. Employees were nice and helpful. Love, love, love these Subs. Our faves are the hook and ladder, and the New York steamer. Portions are generous and it doesn't take an hour and a half to get your food. I ordered the turkey option and my husband had the special which was a Hawaiian sandwich. I also really like their chip selections and the soda machine. So many good flavored water options! Firehouse is Subway with a decorative theme, nothing special but not bad, either. I was less than impressed coming in, I was the only customer ordering and there were 3 people behind the counter. None greeted me, asked if they could help or if I've been here before, they just waited until I finally made it to the register (which is the end point of every other sub place) and waited expectantly for me to order. Once I chose a sub I wasn't asked for extras or other toppings, I was told the price. I had to ask for an explanation of their toppings "cube" by the register. There are a lot different places to get a good sandwich. Firehouse subs is just in location that I drive by once in a while and never thought about going there, but my stomach told me otherwise. I recently stopped in when I was in the area. I was immediately greeted by the staff. It's a very clean and open store. The wall decor lives up to it's name as there's firefighter helmets, hoses, axes, and signs. Turns out that Firehouse subs was founded by someone who was an actual firefighter. The menu was big and easy to see as there a good number of choices for some hot subs. They offer three different sizes of sandwiches (small, medium, or large) on white or wheat bread. The small sub is perfect if you have a smaller appetite. The medium size is similar to the size that you would get at Jimmy Johns or Erberts and Gerberts. I ended up ordering the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket. The beef was tender and hot and covered it Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ (one of my favs). Cheese would slowly drizzle out of the sandwich with each bite. I ate that sandwich so fast, there was barely a mess to clean up. When you make your order, you can round up to the next dollar and that change gets donated to local public safety organizations in Wisconsin. That's pretty cool that they support organizations that relate to the overall theme of the restaurant. read more

Another gripe I have is the prices My sub with chips and a medium pop was $12+ dollars. I don't think the prices matched the quality. I used to like Firehouse Subs until today. I ordered online for curbside pick up. I go there when my order is ready. I park in the spot that is clearly marked curbside pickup. Wait for 5 minutes. Nobody comes so i go inside. There's 4 people working inside none of them wearing masks as they prepare people's food. I stand there for another 5 minutes and noone acknowledges me. I see the bag with my food...do i just take it and go? No, i want these assholes to acknowledge my presence and they still don't. So i loudly say "I'm here to pick up an order." OMG they need one of these in Appleton ASAP. They are soooo good. I had a meatball sub and it was the best one I've ever had. I come from a city where you find an Italian restaurant on almost every block so I've had it all and this beats all of them hands down. Serving sizes are huge so I ate the rest for dinner. The order process was quick and simple, the cashier was professional but not overly friendly. They made the change, praised me for being part of the community - and ever since, most of my reviews now wind up in the Not Recommended section! Brilliant algorithm ya got there, kids. And no way to communicate with a human about it. So I no longer waste time providing them with free content, and post my reviews elsewhere. BUT: I had previously mentioned Firehouse's free Birthday Sandwich, praising them because they didn't require that you join a club or provide personal info...just show ID. That program has been discontinued and now you DO have to join a club and provide info. But I still stick by the rest of my earlier review: The sandwiches here are larger than your typical sub from "that other place" so they're a tiny bit more expensive but worth every penny. Much better quality ingredients IMHO. For me, the standouts are the hot subs, like the BBQ beef brisket. No "deli meat" here! read more

First let me say I love Firehouse Subs. And when I'm in the store I love the multi-choice soda machine where you can mix flavors, etc. But lately I've tried having subs delivered to work for lunch using one of the delivery services. Two different services, at that. Both times my instructions were not followed. The most recent time (yesterday) I requested no lettuce, no mustard, add black olives, extra cheese (which I paid extra for), and please cut the sandwich in four pieces. Only one of these five instructions was followed (the black olives). On the one hand, that's what I get for not going to the restaurant in person, I guess. But on the other hand - that's twice that I didn't get what I ordered. Maybe restaurants think that when people order food delivered, very few will bother to complain. Who knows? We were visiting Green Bay and we ordered a large take out order of subs. When we picked them up and got back to our hotel we realized we forgot the bag of salads and were missing a few subs. The manager and staff were very friendly and quick to fix the problem. They don't deliver but the manager drove to our hotel himself with the rest of our order. Great customer service! read more
