The custard machine was having issues this night and delayed serving in the timely manner of the custards. A few staff were gathering around and the lead was telling them to spread out and designate stations. The meal was not bad and the frozen custard is always a delicious treat. I usually get the cheesecake bits. The cheeseburger seemed to have a thicker patty than usual with the grilled onions, shredded lettuce and cheese. It kind of lacked mayonnaise and ketchup that I had to dunk in the burger to the ketchup as I bit into it to add some type of moistness to the burger. The fries were fresh and hot and salted evenly. The diet root beer I like getting because its pretty dang good. It has a good root beer flavor compared to a&w. I love their frozen custards. It has this creamy nice texture to it and its not too sweet. I usually do my own toppings for the custard sundaes. I usually get the butter cake or cheesecake pcs.

I placed the order in the mobile app when I was just under a half mile away. Usually these orders from other places are handled very quickly, which is why I do them. The app made some things difficult and would not allow customization on some items. One meal I looked at only came with Dr Pepper with no other choice, but you could choose no ice in the drink. Since I can't have Dr Pepper, I went with a different meal. The meal I ordered had the full range of drinks available, but no option for no ice in the drink. This seemed a little ridiculous to me. In the end, I could've got the meal that I wanted rather than the one that I got. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and I'm glad I had it but the app needs work. My other issue was that I arrived and had to enter the building to pick up my meal and when all was said and done, it took them 25 minutes from the time they received my order till the time when they gave it to me. Because I was inside, I just took my drink and dumped it out and then refilled it with no ice. I know this was a waste, but it's on them for not having the app set up right and not communicating in house well. Everybody else it was there was clearly not too happy with the length of the weight to get their food. In the future, I will strive to dine in so that I don't have to worry about standing around and waiting. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and was fairly clean with plenty of seating. The drink and condiment station was almost out of napkins, and the soda machine was leaking when I got my soda. I ended up with soda all down my arm from it. As you can imagine, the sandwiches were cold by then. Maybe during busy times they could also use the "Pay Here" line for online pickups if the ordering line gets too backed up. It would make the pickup process a lot smoother and actually serve the purpose of ordering ahead. As for the atmosphere, it definitely had that classic Waffle House vibe; busy, loud, and full of people. It seemed like they were dealing with a rush, which may have contributed to the confusion, but a more organized pickup process would still go a long way.
