Packed on a Sunday afternoon. Like nowhere to sit or stand packed. Now admittedly we went to pick up our Comicpalooza tickets, which by the way you can't buy on site like their email claims. You gotta buy it online and suffer the ridiculous 15% "service charge". But that story is for another day I suppose. The staff was pleasant and today's special was Italian sub. Pickle spear comes on the side for no extra charge. Free standing soda machine with free refills (take that McDonald's). The outdoor strip mall it's in is like a blast from the past. Cafe Express. James Coney. Even JCPenney. Omg. I've time warped. But all very bright and clean looking. Not like run down as you'd probably expect to see these stores in. The sub hit to spot and now we're set for next week at Comicpalooza too!

My friend and I dined in at firehouse subs after a workout. I never really come here, so I was kind of taken aback by the prices. I paid a little over $7 for a small Italian sub, that's without any customizations or sides. I knew it'd be small but not that small... especially for that price hahaha. It was still good, and I enjoyed eating it with the pickle on the side. I just wouldn't willingly come here on my own. Plenty of parking in the plaza! Workers are friendly and service was relatively quick.

The Bible warned of Firehouse and Brimstone, and it came half true with this excellent sandwich shop. They have some of the better chain sandwiches in Houston, wayyyy better than Subway. Delicious sandwiches over here in Meyerland, and definitely one of the better sandwich chains out there. I personally prefer Potbelly, but they are very good, make no mistake about it, and I always thought their chili was pretty good too.  We've only had one sandwich from this Meyerland location, but we come to this plaza all the time, so I'm sure there will be return visits.

Service is great, food comes out perfect each time. If you ask for extra, they never miss! 10 out of 100 stars! Come to this place once or twice a week. Worth the drive.

Hubby loves firehouse subs. They are good. Visited firehouse subs. I recently had a birthday. I am a participant in their members, app program. Redeemed a free medium sub. This is awesome. Hubby got a sandwich. A free medium sub for your birthday is really generous. We got hero and engineer. Excellent customer service.

This was my first and last time at this location and let me tell you why. I was in a rush so I knew exactly what I wanted. Not many people in the dining area waiting so when I walked in I ordered and waited. First thing I noticed was the wet mop left out in the dining area. Gross. I've worked in food service before and that's just something you don't do. Even if you get customers while moping you apologize, take 5 seconds and put the mop in the back and then come take care of customers. Second thing I noticed was the girl DID NOT change her gloves after touching several things prior to making my sandwich. Again gross. Talk about food safety. Thirdly, they make your sandwich right on this red cutting board. I asked the manager how often they clean it and Danny (think that was his name) said, "after making 2-3 sandwiches with food safe disinfectant". Not acceptable for me! How hard is it to put one of those papers (don't know the name but almost looks like parchment paper) down while making the sandwich? I smelled my sandwich before I left to make sure the disinfection wasn't noticeable. Oh was I wrong. I couldn't smell it but I could taste it. GROSS. $14 for a large sandwich and it has hints of disinfectant. Not only that the bread was toasted too long. I even asked another girl who was lingering behind the counter, "is anyone making my sandwich"? She told me it's in the toaster. How long does it take to toast bread? Then the sandwich was DRY. DRY DRY. It was screaming for more BBQ sauce. And I had to come home and add more cheese. The girl barely put anything but meat and mayonnaise on the sandwich. I know prices are high but that's no reason to be stingy on the ingredients. What a waste of $14. Next time I want a sub sandwich I might as well go across the street to H‑E‑B and make the sandwich at home.

I can speak to the service. It was painless to order. You can call, order online for delivery or pick up, you can also use one of the many food delivery apps. After we submitted our order we actually got a call from the restaurant confirming a couple of things. This was a nice touch because they didn't just assume, they wanted to make sure everything was correct. Also, the food arrived in no time at all Everything was tasty. Everyone looked food on their plates and even went back for seconds Some tips: I would order the wings because they have so much flavor, they are crispy, and it's easy to share/try various flavors They have an option to order an extra egg on the menu. We assumed this was for the fried rice, but this is the main reason we received a call from them asking where we wanted the egg lol Cheers!!

The decor of this place is like walking into a low rider's garage, there's bright murals all over the walls of skulls, Houston sports teams, landmarks and celebrities. It's a whole vibe walking in with the all the colors and reggaeton blasting. The restaurant was slow paced on our visit. The food took awhile to get to the table, longer than other places. Our server did inform us that everything is homemade from scratch. But it was an hour between when we ordered and our meals came out. That wouldn't have been a problem if I was halfway through my third Dirty Horchata, but it was my lunch hour and time is short. So that knocks it down a star. On to the food- Shrimp Quesadillas- good, the cheese was gooey and had a great pull. It was buttery and fried perfectly, the shrimp were crisp and well cooked. Rice- it was super! Loved it. Refried Beans- one of my coworkers didn't get her beans with the meal. So I gave her mine, since we only had an hour I had to take the beans to go. Don't ask about the guac because I gave it away! I will try Dona Leti's again. The food was very good, maybe a cook called in and it was just a bad day. All I know is the bartender better be on point when I go back.

It took about 15 minutes to get our drinks (water) and nearly 45 minutes to get our food. I had to flag the waiter down every time I needed something, and they weren't even that busy. I ordered the 3-taco entree ;two chicken fajita tacos and one steak fajita taco and I was disappointed when I realized they use dark meat chicken for their chicken fajita tacos. This was a first for me. Every Mexican restaurant I've been to has used chicken breast for chicken fajita tacos, so that's what I was expecting. Waiting 45 minutes for tacos and nachos, combined with the subpar service, really took away from the experience. The service, the food and service just didn't live up to all the hype. I definitely won't be rushing back.

In 1977 some friends at work had this thing where they all got together once a month and had lunch at JCI. I completely did not understand their fixation. Then I became addicted like they were and have had a thing for JCI ever since. Can't explain it. Just take into consideration that JCI has been selling chili-cheese dogs for like 100 years - enough said. This is not something you can compare to other restaurants and especially cannot compare to other chili-cheese-hotdogs. This is a unique stand alone food that just doesn't relate to food in general. If you don't like chili-cheese-hotdogs then.... duhh - don't go to this restaurant. They do serve other things but that is for other people to write about. I came back to this review to add that the only thing I have ordered at JCI in 39 years is the "Cheese Coney" - mustard, coney sauce, Kraft Cheese Whiz & onions. I always think I'll try something else - but, never have. Oh wait... I've tried the tater-tots and I think they are pretty good - but, again I just happen to like tater-tots.

The employee seemed like he was the only one and there was a couple dining in who seemed to be regulars after their farewells. I didn't realize it was a build your own bowl/sandwich/salad concept which I thought was unique! Everything was packaged nicely to go since we had to eat at home. I did make the mistake of not checking the order because we realized the pho broth wasn't included which was disappointing! I ended up not going back or calling to report it since I knew it would be too inconvenient to drive all the way back. After the kids refused it, I did try it vermicelli style but the steak was little too salty. The beef banh mi was good but the portion was much smaller than I expected compared to a traditional size. The eggrolls were also on the smaller side but were decent typically eggrolls. I also ended up trying the lychee lemonade but the flavoring wasn't as well balanced. Overall it was not as satisfactory as I would have hoped but wouldn't mind giving another chance to try other menu items like the pork banh mi or viet coffee. Edit after establishment's comment: I realized my misunderstanding of the menu of no broth included now. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the steak as vermicelli and salad style as much either.
