Talk about bad customer service. Whoever took my order didn't know what they were doing also the rudeness was too much. I should have them make my order and not go pick it up but I don't waste food. Then once she took my order she told me the price and hung up didn't tell me how long my order was going to take. Definitely sucks because this was the spot to go after a long soccer practice/game.. We dine here regularly because it's convenient, the food is always fresh and delicious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. And it's clean! That's important these days. My fave is the Hook and Ladder sub, and my husband likes their salads. I love how easy they make it if you want to customize your sandwich or salad. Easily one of the best sub place. I recommend the "Hook and Ladder" with everything. The ham meat is juicy, the bread is crispy and soft, the spread the veggie and the taste is on the point. It seems like Jax has a ton of sub places, and I don't mind it one bit. These subs are a step above subway and right in line with Larry's and Jersey Mike's. And not quite on the same level as Angie's out at the beach. This particular location is always fast and friendly and if you are ordering a big order for work they keep it nice and organized so that Nancy can be sure to have her hook and ladder with no onion. My family stopped in for a quick lunch before our flight on JAX base. Our boys had never been, and they were a little confused about the steamed sub situation. Our sandwiches were delicious, and were ready quickly. If you don't know what to order, just play it safe and get the roast beef and provolone, steamed. It's my absolute favorite! Our little guy, though, started crying when he got his sandwich because he wanted "melty cheese" after he ordered an unsettled sub. Yep, these are the thing skids cry about when they're exhausted from traveling all week. The employee who brought the sandwiches to said it was no problem at all and brought a new, steamed sub..with melty cheese. I hated to cause more work for the employees, but they handled it so nicely without making us feel like we were inconveniencing them. I love this location. The restaurant is a nice large size since they moved to the front of the shopping mall. There is still a place to eat outside, if you prefer. The employees seem to enjoy their job and interacting with the customers. They stay on topof cleaning the tables and answering any questions the customer may have. The manager is friendly and tries to get to know the customers. In fact she not only remembers my name, but what I usually order. I was so surprised one day when she asked me what I was having and when I said " oh my usual." and laughed, she recited my order with the special preferences. The sandwiches are always good and if you want your brownie hot, they will heat it up for you. The bathroom is always clean and I love the smell of the soap. :-) This is definitely my regular spot. read more

I was a little pressed for time and when I looked up, I noticed this place. I heard someone mention it a day before in casual conversation, but didn't pay it any mind until now. I stopped in to notice a long line of people (this is always a good sign except when you are in a rush). I said screw it and decided to wait it out. I looked around and thought the place must be good considering all the people stuffing their mouths. After looking at the menu for a little, I decided to try the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket sandwich. This was the best choice I could have made, so good I tried it two days in a row. I've had good brisket before and this place was very comparable and the fact it was on a sandwich with all the toppings and cheddar cheese only made it that much better. read more

The food is standard Firehouse food so if there isn't much to say about about that (always love the food). My only complaint about this Firehouse is the size of the dining area. It gets really crowded at meal times and can be very difficult to find a table to eat at. read more

The Best Firehouse I have ever been to hands down....!!!! This is the friendliest, most efficient and best tasting Firehouse Subs franchise I have ever been to and I have hit plenty of them in the Jacksonville area. It all starts at the top and with a manager like Dario Isazrd at the front you know his people can't do anything, but line up accordingly and excel to the highest standard possible. I have never entered into this particular location where the entire working staff did not greet me openly and clearly enough for me to hear each voice welcoming me to their location. Devvon is normally on the register when I go to lunch and he is definitely another young man that is a candidate for management because he has the same drive and personality that Dario possesses, so I know he is watching and truly learning from the best. You can always find Dario doing everything to engage his staff like a well oiled machine on top of doing several collateral duties that have to be done in the blink of an eye. Then if you factor in Dario's people skills and the expert way he keeps the product moving while interacting and greeting the people to make them feel at home it is oblivious that this young man is truly destined for greatness. I remember one day in particular a few weeks back when Dario was shaking and baking doing all the things that he has to do, but something seemed a little distant with him. I asked him what was up and he informed me that his house had caught fire and he was just a little distracted. I realize then that even in a clearly stressful and difficult time such as that this young manager still had the excellence and focus to keep the customer happy and the store running in top order never giving thought to his own troubling concerns. As if it wasn't even possible he gained more of my respect that day...!!!!! I am confident that if you sent Dario around to train each store's crew I know each franchisee would be guaranteed a successful store and happy customers to boot. Service wasn't great; I approached the counter to be met by an employee with an apparent lack of customer service skills; he just stood there with his finger on the cash register and didn't say one word, really? Another employee finally offered up a greeting at which time I placed my order, I went for the pulled pork on Hawaiian King roll which I love; it also came with slaw/mustard, the roll was fresh, soft & sweet; the slaw was creamy with a good crunch from the cabbage which added good texture to the sandwich; the pulled pork wasn't remarkable in any way, it was slightly sweet (i'm getting accustomed to a vinegary based flavor) the sweetness from all of the ingredients could have very easily overwhelmed the sandwich and ruined it but in this case it came together and created a pretty decent sandwich, they're somewhat pricey, nearly 7$ for the sandwich alone, I will try them out again to see if any more stars will fall in the future. read more
