We have grown to love our local Firehouse in Salem Oregon. On a road trip to visit my brother here in Washington and low and behold one just down the road from our rv spot. Waited 37 minutes for 2 sandwiches and 2 sides. Barely any meat in both sandwiches, that right there is enough for me not to come back ever again! The sides were not heated properly because the chili was cold. I watched them pour the chili in the bowl so it should have been hot, but wasn't. the whole time I was trying to order the lady taking my order kept talking to her coworkers about their lives and irrelevant things. I had specifically asked for no onions, no pickle, and extra tomato's. I haven't reviewed Firehouse yet and today I purposely wanted to use the APP to redeem points and get a delicious sandwich. When I walked in I noticed the friendliness of the staff right away when they all greeted me. I noticed how clean the restaurant was as well. The staff member behind the counter assisted me with ordering and trying to redeem points to receive my sandwiches. When ordering thee seemed to be a problem with the APP, I couldn't redeem any points for the sandwiches. The managers of the store, both tried assisting me and when they couldn't figure it out they gave me the sandwiches for free. They said "I shouldn't be punished for the APP not working". Everyone working at this location was so friendly from the minute I walked in to the minute I received my sandwiches. We have never had one of their subs - so while traveling we decided to stop here rather than a subway. I wish we had stopped at the subway. The place was clean and staff was friendly. I love firehouse subs but they don't have any where I live. I was excited to see one while traveling and ordered online for pickup. And even more excited to see they now have gluten free buns! They're sort of disorganized. Coke Machine was broken and had to fill up in the sunmart but they don't sell small drinks so they had no lids so had to the sub shop for that. It was a big sub but too wet. I'd go there again and ask them to lighten on the ranch dressing. I prefer mayo and mustard anyway. Service was good. They were pleasant. read more

What a disgusting sloppy mess I got. I ordered the large tuna sub. They had to make tuna right there because they didn't have any made and it was 11 AM they just opened! So what I got was mostly mayonnaise tuna water and some tuna that poured off the sandwich into the box it came in so I had none on my sandwich. One bite would've squirted the little remaining it all over the place. I had to go home and open a new can of tuna to rebuild my sandwich. Plus I got the large and I got literally four rings of onion. Like skinny pathetic rings. See the pictures attached. also there was no Dijon mustard on it that it says is standard. Tehy should've told me they didn't have any tuna rather than throw together some really fast that was runny. I will never go back. I mean for $12 and the actual tuna that was on there? 3.4 ounces. You get that much on half a sub at Subway. Plus it's thick and not runny mayo. I have a scale at home and I scraped it all off a sandwich and weighed it because most of it was in the box not on the sandwich. Oh and the lovely side pickle? A mushy nasty tasting pickle. The only good thing about it was the bun which I hope will be intact because I had to restructure my sandwich and put it in the refrigerator for a while. I had the Italian sub. A little more than $9 for a 6 INCH sandwich! The sandwich lacked in portion size and the Italian dressing is swapped out for a Mayonnaise consistency white creamy stuff. I waited for quit awhile. I thought for being I was there only customer and 5 people on staff. I can't use the term working, because it wouldn't have taken 15 minutes to get a 6 inch cold sub..... Odd place. I checked on their website what type of subs they offered. The have their subs split between hot and cold. If you click on cold subs it shows you all the subs that are served cold, and vice versa when viewing subs served hot. I predetermined I wanted two turkey sandwiches which were on the cold section of their website, with one having bacon added to it. I arrived at the location and walked in and was met with a startling loud chorus of shouts from about seven employees "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!". My first thought was how bad I felt for the employees who are forced to yell real loud "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!" every time someone comes in. This is not a place you want to sit and enjoy your sandwich because they do in fact shout very loudly every time someone comes in. The layout of the place was not thought out very well. I had to walk through and past rows of seating areas where people were coming and going and then stand right next to a soda fountain where people were trying to fill up their cup. I get to the front to order and begin to place my order when all of a sudden I hear real loud "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!", which is loud enough that the cashier has to ask what I just said because she couldn't hear. I first order the turkey sandwich, no problems there. Then I order the turkey add bacon. I guess you can't order a turkey sandwich add bacon, you have to order a turkey bacon ranch, minus the ranch. While the cashier is explaining this, you guessed it, she was interrupted with "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!" being yelled out again and had to re-explain because I couldn't hear her over the loud yelling. I finally was able to place my order, though I felt rushed due to anticipating the loud yelling interrupting my ability to hear and be heard. Also be advised this is another corporate store who forces the employees to beg for donations to what ever charity they are pushing. They do this specifically to avoid paying their corporate tax because they can get a write off on all the donations they collect. I finally get my order and leave. When I get home I realized I didn't get what I thought I had ordered. The turkey sandwich was correct, but since I couldn't simply order a turkey sandwich add bacon and instead had to order a turkey bacon ranch, minus the ranch, it was made hot, which is not what I wanted. To sum it up, average place, nothing special, sparse choice of very basic toppings, bizarre ordering system, not very effective at communicating what exactly you are going to get when ordering, begging for donations and very loud robotic yelling of "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!" numerous times read more

The establishment is clean and the employees are friendly. Very over priced, not impressed. I asked for medium toasted cheese (2 kinds) with some vegies. I got charged for a Turkey, minus the Turkey and extra cheese. Received a plain white bread sandwich, with a small amount of lumpy cheese, barely melted and not toasted. 1 small pathetic tomato slice on each side and a sprinkling of lettuce. $8 for what tasted like an elementary school sandwich. The managers do a very good job, they come out of their way to stop by tables and ask how our food was. They are very friendly to the guy who brings out our food aswell. Lunch gets pretty busy and I know I can come in and get a online order placed and ready to go by the time it says it needs to be ready! Entering this wonderful factory of sandwiches, I felt a warm welcome as the team shouted "welcome to firehouse subs." The floor was so clean which is nice because last week I was at my grandchild's house and he never cleans the damn floor. Anyway, I found my way to the start of the line and I found myself standing in front of such a sweet team with smiles on all their faces. What a wonderful team of energetic people, you will not find it anywhere else. A young man named Cody offered a suggestion for what to eat. He was such a sweet, handsome boy. He was very enthusiastic towards his work, I could tell he loves this place, he might even consider it home for all I know. He told me it was his dream to someday take over the firehouse sub business. Inspirational. I wish I would have had the luck of landing such a sweet boy as my man back when I was just a young girl.
