Always good always fresh always friendly. You get nothing but quality here. All the meats are flavorful, moist and delicious. This is one of the best subs I have come into in the central Texas area. No matter which Firehouse you get into they are constantly food. They have some 20+ sauces to choose from from sweet to gut you with an atomic bomb in your mouth and guts. I don't normally leave reviews but I feel this needed to be said. I'm a huge fan of firehouse subs. I moved here from Washington a few months ago and was pleased to see the had a firehouse subs in Kyle. It was probably one of the dirtiest restaurants I've ever been in. Tables were dirty, there was a greasy film even on the soda machine. To top it off, one of the employees came back with an empty garbage can and immediately popped on gloves to start making sandwiches. I was still waiting for my sandwich to be made so I said something to the guy behind the counter only to get an eye roll and a 5 second hand wash. The sandwich was soggy by the time I got home. Love this location friendly people good service. This Sub shop is tasty, and the hearty & flavorful menu is pretty good too. This sub shop has a drink machine with 120+ drink choices and a sauce bar that can make you drool if your like me and love spicy sauces. The sauce bar goes in a ranking from 1-10. I will start out by saying I am not a huge fan of Firehouse subs in general. You know, woooo hooo another sandwich shop. However, the Kyle location has me hooked. The staff are amazing and always friendly, I love walking into the Kyle location and hearing them all greet you as you walk in the door. They always make my sandwich exactly how I like them and they make you feel welcome whenever you come in. When you walk into firehouse subs you can see the origin of how it was created. They have axes on the wall and firemen suites on the wall. The food has a great taste and a wide variety of subs. We've gone here twice with the most recent visit last Friday!! They were about to close and they still offered to serve us! The service was amazing and the sandwich was prepared well too. The young lady told me she was a new manager and she is doing a great job. We will definitely go back! Went to Kyle, TX Firehouse Subs and could not believe how absolutely filthy the dining are was. It was around 4:30, no other customers in the store and employees standing around socializing. Tables dirty, floor covered with dried food and trash, felt like I needed to clean my shoes after walking out. Afraid of what the food prep area looked like. The four stars is for the food, not the service. The service was unbelievably slow on Sunday night. There was a steady stream of people but not enough for a 30 min wait. Staff was mostly friendly but you can tell some of them haven't worked in food service. The italian sub was fresh, lightly toasted and full of flavor. One of the better italian subs from a sub shop. The soda machine is terrible. It's one of those Coke flavoring machines and regular Coke tastes like vanilla. Tables and floor were clean. Seating gets a little tight as it gets full but not too bad. I will definitely go back for the food and can only hope the service gets better. Dont forget to grab a pickle bucket for $2. It's an empty Firehouse branded 5 gallon bucket with lid. Far superior to any sandwich shop out there! Their bread is melt in your mouth, and their combinations of meats and cheeses is spot on! I recently tried the limited time pork and slaw and was not disappointed. Ok, now THIS is a good sandwich shop! There are 3 at that same intersection and the other 2 are nothing special--just need a sandwich. Firehouse, however, stands out. We've been there several times when we need something quick, it's very clean, the staff is super friendly--they really seem to enjoy their jobs. I can't not order the meatball sub, it is HEAVEN! The bread is soft and fresh, TONS or options for hot sauce and they have one of those soda machines that make you kid faint with happiness (cherry, vanilla Dr. Pepper? Sure! Peach, cherry, grape, vanilla Fanta? Heck yes!) Great place, I love it, no reason to go to the other sandwich shops. read more

Food and service are great, and cleanliness of food area seems excellent. My complaint is that the restrooms which were previously separated by gender have suddenly been made into mixed gender bathrooms. This is really unpleasant for women who have to use the bathroom after a man, who leaves the lid up, splashes the floor and leaves the toilet unflushed. It's good. The quality of the ingredients is definitely better than Subway, and the bread is much softer than Jersey Mike's too. A large sub here is cheaper than JM as well. I like that they toast the bread and put a lot of meat on the sandwich. I went to the Firehouse Subs in Kyle in less than a week after they opened and ordered (along with another sub) a turkey sub with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I had to repeat my order 3 times to the girl at the register. It took 10 to 15 minutes to get my sandwich with only 2 or 3 orders in front of mine, and I chatted with the owner while I waited. When I got home I had a turkey sub with mustard and onions only. I looked at the receipt and it was rung in MAYO NO LETT NO TOM NO. I called and was told I could get it replaced the next time I come in. I went back a week later and found the owner there and explained the problem. She was very gracious and offered to make the sub right away and what I wanted on it. I ordered a turkey sub with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, and even joked that the person I got the sub for HATES onions and mustard. We got our sub in 4-5 minutes during a crowded time (still a little too slow for my likes), and the owner thanked us for giving them another chance. I got home and had a turkey sub with mayo and onions only. My wife called the store and asked to speak with the owner by name, and when asked why we said that we were unhappy customers two times over. The employee put the phone down, announced that she had a complaint, and asked someone if she should just hang up (I am not making this up). Karen (the owner) picked up the phone and my wife explained who we were and what had just happened, including the rude employee who was not bright enough to put her on hold before popping off. Karen started to laugh and my wife told her that she did not consider this to be funny at all. Karen apologized said she was laughing at herself. My wife asked what she was going to do to for us, and Karen responded by asking what we think she should do and then started laughing again. My wife hung up and said that we will never go there again. I could not agree more. read more

Sandwiches at this place are always delightful to eat, but when it comes to the stuff that work there, they have a bad tendency to be very lazy and uncaring about their job there, they almost seem like they don't want to work there sometimes. So because of the workers attitudes I always see the owner having to get after them for how they act sometimes. I love Firehouse subs and its sandwiches BUT this last time I went here was a bad experience. I had ordered two medium subs one on which was white bread and one on wheat. I had gotten home and realized that one was a small. When I called them to see what was up, the guy on the phone was very snippy with me and told me that they ran out of wheat bread and had to cut it to do something , I don't know. Then proceeded to tell me "Well there is the right amount of meat and veggies for a medium it is just on a small piece of bread" Is that really an acceptable excuse? When I asked for a refund he handed me to his manager who had even more of an attitude with me saying "well I can't give you a refund over the phone, now can I?" Excuse me???
