This is a unique concept in a crowded fast food space. The Firehouse Sub is generally heated but you can order them cold. Like Jersey Mik's has their "Mike's Way," Firehouse has their "fully involved." One uniqueness is the display of a couple of dozen different hot sauces ranging in spice range from 1 to 10 and flavors from hot BBQ to Sriracha. But, I don't like the bread. Think about the sub. Bread is a big deal. Jimmy John's has their specific type of bread (which I like). Subway is "meh" but okay. My favorite is Jersey Mike's or maybe Publix, who makes a mean sub. The bread at Firehouse has an almost "sweet" flavor to me. I like the savory sub, no sweet is allowed. For a fair comparison, I ordered the Italian sub. Recently I had one of these from Publix, one from Jersey Mike's and one from a nearby restaurant called Olive Tree. I would rank them Olive Tree first, Jersey Mike's second, Publix and Firehouse. The restaurant is clean, the subs are made in an open environment, you don't get the participation in the selection of "add on's" like you do at JM or at Subway, but Firehouse has it's thing, its just not my thing. Avoid Sunday's unless you have a lot of kids under 12 years old....its 99 cent kids meals on Sunday. I would eat here again, but given other options, would sub somewhere else. read more

I'm torn on how best to handle this review. So it will be two parts. First, firehouse, when we've gone into order has been consistent. We ordered via doordash as we have a newborn. It took two hours, but I'll get to that shortly. Once it finally arrived, it was not even close to correct. The bread was wrong on both, toppings were swapped, meats were wrong. We were very disappointed but because it was delivered, what can we do? We will probably choose elsewhere next time. As far as doordash, every time we've used it it has been wrong or taken forever. One star for the bread and second star for I was so hungry I ate the sloppy soggy sandwich because I wanted to eat something as I was starving. Firehouse is an awesome sandwich chain offering great hot subs and all the different hot sauces you can imagine to slather all over that sub! We had tried 4-5 different ones each day (ate here two days in a row). The subs you order at the cashier and then they bring out to your table. A nice personalized touch for a fast food/quick and casual chain. The Mauldin location does an admirable job in serving you in excellent fashion that is quick and cheerful. Superb job guys! We had asked if they had any other extremely hot sauce. I mentioned my friend spent some time in Thailand and could basically eat raw chillies. So one of the guys said he had something behind the counter. It was a 1 ounce bottle that was in an eye dropper style. Called Mad Dog 257 ghost pepper extract tequila edition. Damn she was a sizzler. Day one I had a New York steamer. Day two I had a Steak N cheese. Both days I had them fully involved (their term for with veggies and pickle spear). I had the medium size with chips and a drink and it was more than enough. Their subs are flavourful hearty and you can dip them in hot sauce! My favourite sauces they had was the Virginia Gentleman bourbon chipotle and the sweet Jabanero sauce. Seriously good stuff! They also have the most interesting soda machine I've seen. You can have around 100 combinations of Coca-Cola styled drinks! Great to wash down that fiery sub! read more

This is my favorite firehouse subs. Very clean and the staff is the best. They call you by name even after you receive your food. The food is always made perfectly and the bread is always fresh. The person cleaning the dining area clears your table and calls you by name. Very impressive. read more

The man making the sandwiches was super friendly, but we waited forever for our food. I mean it was at least 10 minutes and we were the only people ordering when we walked in. Other people followed and they waited 15 at least with one of the guests not having her food, came out way later. I watched the girl make my salad. She had to go all the way into the back to get lettuce to begin with. With subway and jimmy Johns so close we probably won't return. read more
