There are many options for lunch and/or sandwiches/burgers in downtown Greenville and while staying there I wanted to make sure I picked a winner and I chose this one based on the reviews. Coming in, there were many tables available, so I just sat at a hi-top community table, since I was alone. The young lady taking care of me was very friendly and did a nice job giving me her feelings about the menu. I opted for one of the subs she liked, the STP Dipper. I asked for their pasta salad as a side. It was made pretty quickly and delivered to the table and looked pretty good. Unfortunately, it came with their potato salad instead of the pasta salad I asked for. I say "unfortunately" because they make a sweeter version and I think it might have pickles. So, I tried it - Didn't like it. So, when she came around to check on me I pointed out to her that I got potato salad and she quickly apologized and went and got me a side of pasta salad. The pasta salad was a little odd, it was sweet too, but had some interesting ingredients. I tried a few bites, but wasn't a fan. As for the sub - it was pretty good! The sauce they give with it, the Formula 45 was also on the sweet side, but the description seemed to make me think of fast food special sauce (A.K.A. Big Mac sauce) and this definitely was not that, it was much better. It works pretty nicely with this sub's ingredients and I really liked the bread and the pop of bacon bits on it really brought it together nicely. Overall, I would most definitely return and wished there was a location closer to me so I could try more of the menu, as I feel I missed out on other options that might have been better. I'm VERY disappointed in their horrible sides, as least the two I tried. I feel they could improve there. Service was very nice and made up for the poor sides. read more

We stopped in to Grouchos deli for a quick lunch with our family. The restaurant has a cool, classic downtown vibe. It was a very hot day and we were grateful that the AC was wonderful! We were immediately sat in a comfy corner booth and our waitress was fabulous! She kept our drinks refilled and checked on us multiple times. My chef salad was delicious and my husband loved his sandwich. The kids meals were good portions and the kids enjoyed them. We would definitely go back again when in Greenville! read more

Great little deli in downtown Greenville. I tried the Apollo dipper And got both the f-45 sauce and the blue cheese on the side. Both were really good but I did favor the blue cheese. Tons of choices and I really would say there is something for everyone here. My little guy who is extremely picky was able to get a garden salad and some chips. read more

This review is for the Greenville SC location. I ordered a toasted meal during my lunch. I was unable to eat the sandwich due to it being completely hard and burnt. I returned to the location to request a refund. The store clerk contacted her Manager and a refund was not offered, due to the burnt sandwich was not returned. This was the worst Customer Service and food experience that I have ever encountered. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

This review is for my favorite food item/ the only thing I ever order at Groucho's: the STP dipper with formula 45 sauce. It has a special place in my heart and I am partial to Groucho's because I grew up on it in Columbia,SC where the OG locations are. I always order the STP dipper (perfect ratio of turkey, roast beef, bacon bits and melted provolone cheese on a steamed bun , dipped in the formula 45 sauce which is sort of like a thousand island dressing but their own homemade delicious version. I even dip the chips in it- this is my tradition since childhood). I will say I'm not a huge fan of the potato salad side, or some of the other sides or menu items I've tried but that's ok because I really love my go-to!! The Apollo dipper with ham would be runner up in my opinion. I know some people I've talked to that didn't grow up on it feel it's overrated but I'm convinced they just need to stick with the dipper sandwiches and they won't be disappointed! read more

Two stars for the chicken in my salad, it was good. It wasn't even that crowded, yet it took over 45 mins., for our lunches to arrive. Understanding there were nine of us. Still, it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R (Sandlot Voice), for our drinks to arrive, then it seemed like an eternity for the dishes. Please make it make sense. The salads arrived in an oval plastic bowl on paper. Naw man, not for what you're charging, I/we deserve a bowl! It was messy as hell trying to keep the ingredients in that rubber canoe. Whose idea was it??? Salads like toddlers, are hard to reel in, you need a big o' bowl!!! Nope, not me again. I need a bowl. Also, please don't go there if you're hungry, I warned you. P.S. We have been to Groucho's Deli several times for lunch. The service today was bad as usual. We go for the great sandwiches. My favorite is the brown mule. Groucho's Deli was the where I was taken as 16 year old on his 1st trip to Cola Town I 1976 and has been a fan since! The past few years being what they were - I passed Groucho's and thought I want an Apollo Dipper - on the menu: still the same and yet better! No one will ever replace the indomitable spirit of Bruce Miller , but his efficiency in serving large numbers quickly, with high quality food is by Groucho's daily.
