Let me start by saying that I absolutely love Firehouse Subs! I eat here about two to three times a week, no joke, I love the steak and cheese sandwich. The chili is yummy too! Firehouse blows Subway, Submarina and all those other places out of the water. The employees are always really friendly and I have yet to have them make my sandwich wrong. I've been here twice and have gotten a mediocre experience both times. The space is cozy and ordering goes from the back of the store to the front of the store, so the ordering line can get congested at peak hours. Their combos include a sub, chips, and a drink for about $10 while subs alone about $7. The meat and cheese was tasty and the sandwiches have customizable vegetables, but the employees didn't tell me both times I've been there. The first time, I think I only had lettuce and a spear of pickle or whatever comes standard with a sandwich. The second time, my friend explained to me that I could choose from a variety of veggies and pointed to a small spinning display to the side of the counter I would have otherwise not have noticed at all. The service felt very slow with my friend and I waiting at the 16-17 minute mark both times despite there being a good handful of employees behind the counter. I'm guessing it's the cooking/toasting process that makes it so slow. I do like their cherry limeaid drink that is their signature drink. However, they have instructions saying to fill your cup with that drink and add in some fresh squeezed lime to enhance the flavor, but on the second visit, they didn't have limes available for this. They are a company designed to help local firefighters, so if you're into helping such people out, you can do so by donating your change, rounding up your order to the next whole dollar, or purchasing one of their pickle buckets. Overall, the experience was fine, but not a place I would go out and seek when craving a sub. I've gotten faster service, more customization with a cheaper price at Port of Subs. I do like the drink and their charitable activities though, and I'm not opposed to coming back. read more

Probably the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. They've been open for two weeks and I've eaten there about 8-9 times already. The sandwich can stand on its own but if you drown it in that house sauce of theirs it's amazing. Plus they have that Coke machine that allows you to make crazy combos and flavors with your drink. I like their sandwiches a lot and I don't mind waiting a little bit longer for food that is good quality and made right, but this place is so slooooow. Sitting here right now, no one was in line ahead of me, and they have 3 employees behind the counter making sandwiches. I waited for at least 5 mins before someone came to the register to take my order and now it's been 30 mins since I paid and I'm still waiting. I still love the food, however, it is extremely inconvenient that 95% of the time my order is wrong. I am one of those people where if I pay $9.00 for a sub and its wrong, I will take it back because I just paid for it. It usually not like small mistakes either where the tomatoes could just be removed, or the lettuce was forgotten, it's like the entire order wrong. They just simply do not pay any attention when taking or making your order. And It usually shows by their attitude while taking your order, like its a hassle and a waste of their time. If you plan on taking it to go, I suggest opening up the sub and double checking before you leave. There are plenty of people out there looking for jobs, and plenty of them with great customer service. Maybe they should re-evaluate their staff a little because a good sub can only keep me (and others who have experienced this) coming back so many times. read more

Several days ago, I gave into the Firehouse Subs hype after reading all the rave Yelp reviews, and for the general want of supporting local businesses in my area--I took advantage of their convenient online ordering system and ordered one Club-on-a-Sub combo, and a meatball sandwich on the side because I'm a fattie. Both were only medium-sized, so I'm not an extreme fattie. The food: overall, was really only so-so. I had specifically requested that onions be added to my meatball sub when I ordered online. I typed it in the "special instructions" section. Upon digging into the sub, I found that no onions were on the meatball Sammie as I had requested. WTF, over?! Meatballs, sauce, cheese, and bread is so boring... Why can't I request roughage?? -Moving on... I tried the Club-on-a-Sub the next day, which is essentially just their Hook 'n' Line sub, only the Club has bacon. Portion-wise: awesome, it staved off hunger. Flavor-wise: I hoped to go to flavortown, but was instead taken to meh-town. Being a self-proclaimed foodie, I honestly wasn't blown away by their food. It was all something that I could've made myself at home. Their only saving grace from a 1 or 2-star rating is their genuinely friendly customer service, their space-age soda machine, and their honest attempt to make good food. I'm a fan of who they support, what they stand for, and their restaurant in general. The food however, could use a bit of tweaking. I liked how their selection of chips is rivaled only by actual supermarkets, as well as one other sandwich restaurant that I've been to (but will not mention by name because it is douchebaggery to do so, and i hate when people compare restaurants in their reviews). The portions are sufficient and the prices reflect what you pay for. I'm still deciding on what to sample if I come back in the near future. -meh- read more

I love firehouse subs but I would say that customer service has a lot to do with the brand as well. I walk in there and as I approach the cashier missy, said a comment talking about " someone getting cut" then smiled as I came up and asked in a sarcastic " what could I help you with" as if I didn't just hear her threatening comment. I ignored it but what I couldn't ignore was her attitude she really cannot be acting like that on the line at work, she made my stay uncomfortable and I just wanted to get the hell out of there honestly. I had asked for extra pickles and She didn't seem like she was interested in the order I gave, both her and the other women she was working with gave me and my friend bad vibes. I said good bye twice supposably missy didn't hear me until I called out her name because I thought that was rude and left to my car. We began to eat and to my surprise the extra Pickles were not there??!! Every sandwich automatically comes with 1 pickle and the fact that these 2 women forgot at least 1 pickle was odd to me since its there job to make these orders! If I would have left to my house and found no pickles when I asked for extra I would have been super upset given how far I live and how much I paid for the food. I went back in and demanded both pickles but I just felt like they did that on purpose. I'm not going back to this location and the way there attitudes are I doubt others will continue to eat there as well. Went here for lunch today to try out this new sandwich shop and to my disappointment will not be returning. As someone who works in a restaurant, I noticed right from the start that the customer service was next to nothing. As a guest I want to feel invited into an establishment, and greeted with a "hello, what can I get for you." Upon walking up to the two cashiers they continued talking with another clocked out co-worker while I waited to ask my question, being completely ignored. One of the girls noticed that I was standing there for awhile and I asked her what was on the hot honey ham sandwich, and she asked me if I wanted the combo. I told her I wanted to know what was on it, and she seemed really annoyed like I was wasting her time and didn't crack a smile once. I asked if I could get my sandwich without onions, and with an attitude she said "uh huh," and didn't communicated this request to the cook or anyone else. Needless to say I ended up with a honey ham and onion sandwich and wasn't surprised- as she didn't seem to care. I was/am very much confused as to why this girl had an attitude as it seemed pretty slow in there. I noticed my to-go sandwich sitting on the counter for a good 5 minutes, getting soggy. When I picked up my order no one said "thank you," or "have a good day." I said "thank you" quite loudly to the girl and of course no one said anything in return. The sandwich was indeed soggy, and had way too much mayo on it and hardly any cheese. Pretty disappointed and will probably not be returning. Perhaps if this place hired people that were more customer service oriented I would try it again, but when I was there all I could think about was how badly I wanted to leave! Cons: There is nowhere to sit and wait for to-go orders. Sandwiches are over priced for their size. The employees there are very rude. Pros: Location Wait time for to-gos was pretty short. OK, I wanted to like this place but the product is more like what you would expect in a hospital snack bar having been stored in the steam table. First mistake, the soft wheat roll was cut all the way through so that when I opened my wrapped sandwich it just fell apart. Then it was cut in half on an angle, further making it fall open. I did not like the wetness. Who wants a wet sandwich. If you ever had a hot dog where the bun also got overly steamed you know what I mean. The bread and the content need to be distinguishable. In all I would recommend this for people with dentures or no teeth. It has no quality chew factor and I have no craving to return anytime soon. The store layout is also odd - after you order your sandwich you don't get to see it as it is all prepared behind a great high wall? If you do go, split one to see if it is your style - the owner was telling us they have some new "pulled pork on some sweet roll with coleslaw" coming soon - but that did not interest me at all. read more

I figured I would paint a picture for this review to sort of spice things up (get it? Because it's a place known for it's spice?). Anyway, my boyfriend and I arrive, we've never been here before. We walk in and the place is buzzing. There was people everywhere and a table full of kids (I'm assuming a birthday party). The ambiance was great though and the theme was very firehouse-esque. We stared at the menu, doe eye-eyed and a little confused when a woman named Missy came to our rescue. She asked us if we had ever been there before, which we responded with a no. She then proceeded to excitedly tell us what they were all about, how to read the menu, and even gave us a couple recommendations. She then politely waited for us to figure out our orders. When we were finally ready she took our orders with a smile and let us find seating. We sat with our drinks for maybe 10 minutes at most before our food was ready. Now, I wanted to take a picture of our sandwiches as they were very aesthetically pleasing, but the smell was just so good that I couldn't wait. We dug into the sandwiches and my boyfriend even poked himself with the toothpick because he was eating (more like inhaling) his so fast. Before we left my boyfriend ordered a second sandwich, from a different lady, to take home. The girl was very friendly as well, but when my boyfriend was confused on the difference between banana peppers and peppercinis, Missy overheard them and was back to help once more. She blew his mind as he never knew they were two separate things, nor what the difference was. *in case anyone was wondering, banana peppers are normally sliced with a somewhat sweet taste while peppercinis are normally served whole and are spicier.* To sum things up: our experience was fantastic, the service was incredible and the food was drool-worthy. Delicious sandwiches, and friendly service. The environment is clean and fresh, you have the option to eat inside our outside on the patio. They even offer a hot sauce bar to pick and choose to add heat to your sandwich of chili. They offer sandwiches, chili and salad. It was quick service and when they brought our sandwiches to the table the girl explained about the hot sauces and even brought over the house sauce for us to use. They have the soda machine that lets you make different flavors of everything, which is fun to use. The sizes are decent and filling, can't wait to go back and try more. read more
