I've only eaten here once, which was enough. The good: - Food was prepared fresh to order The bad: - It was crowded and service was slow. Had to stand to wait for food since there's not enough seating. Maybe a waiting bench for to go orders would be good? - Food was really average. Small step up from Subway in my opinion. Maybe my wife and I didn't choose the correct subs - but the soft rolls are too much like wonder bread. No real character. - Layout is poor. Narrow space between seating and counters means you're always in the way. - Parking. Not their fault - but the lot was full and lots of trolling before we found a space between two SUVs. In summary, I might be spoiled - but next time you're in the Philly area, try almost any "steak" or "sub" shop for what a sandwich should really be like. read more

The first time I ever went to firehouse subs, i was not the most thrilled but it is most definitely better than subway. I order a turkey sandwich, but the next few times i went back i got the italian and it was by far the most delicious thing i have ever tasted and it is even better with the various sauces to add that extra tasty flavor to your sandiwch. Very satisfying. Sometimes takes a while for my order to come but i know its understanding as i work in food service as well and i know how it is when it is busy. Friendly staff and cute firehouse decor. I got the steak and cheese on wheat w/o mustard and it was delicious. My fiancé got the sriracha beef and my friend got the turkey & cranberry. They both enjoyed them and said "there was meat between the bread." (Haha. They suck at writing reviews). My friend said the cranberry was a little too sweet but overall the sandwich was good. I would have given them 5 stars if the portion size was bigger, but at least there was a good amount of meat and cheese on the sandwich. We were just passing through the area so we probably won't be back because of geography alone, but try this place out if you like hot sandwiches (they have cold ones too) and if you want to donate money to the firefighters charity (they ask you if you want to round your order up to the nearest dollar and donate the change to the charity.) Ever since I discovered Firehouse Subs, I have loved all their subs (my usual being the Engineer Sub). However, today shows what I have been seeing as a pattern; in that despite not being busy, I am usually having to wait close to 15 minutes for my sub. The key reason I am seeing for this is a lack of leadership as well as a lack of personnel (only three people when I walked out here 2 min ago). Being a Marine Corps Veteran, I wanted to jump behind the counter and provide direction.... Great subs but needs improvement in leadership, training and additional personnel. read more

There's a lot of great sandwich shops around... but the specialty subs here are incredible. I've only had their Sweet Chili Thai Pork and Hawaiin sandwiches - they are so tasty I never want to eat anything else, which i'm sure is all great quality as well. Let me start by saying the sauce they make that you can put in little containers to take home is delicious. I would literally put it on any sandwich. I'd probably even marinade something I want to grill in it. Anyway, I think this place is awesome. Awesome!! Originally drove to the shopping center to have chipotle with my wife and son. After parking we noticed the new addition to the center and decided to stop in to "check it out" Boy were we glad we did!! Great atmosphere and my sandwich was great!! The cashier didn't seem to be happy taking our order but the restaurant was empty and she was probably bored. I had the BBQ cheddar number 10 i believe and also ordered meatball sandwich both were great and wheat bun was soft and tasty !! The decor was cool. It kind of made you feel 'vintage firehouse' like. Workers were nice. The subs were tasty and filling, my only complaint was that the bun was a bit on the soggy side, but they are a new establishment here and hoping that, that will change. I'm a big fan of this place. I've been here twice and ordered the Hook and Ladder sandwich and really liked it. Based on the food alone, I'd give them a 4 as it takes a little longer to get food here compared to some other sub shops. The reason I'm giving them 5 stars is because of the owners (Bill and Rose). They are such genuinely wonderful people and solid leaders. I love the way they interact with the staff and with their customers. They've treated my family and my daughters with such kindness both times I've come in. It's obvious that they care a lot and take a great deal of pride in their restaurant. read more

I've been here before. It's s little pricey, but not terrible. Nobody here but me and my son. I was trying to figure out what I wanted. My son ordered, then the guy keeps bugging my about a combo. I didn't even know what I wanted yet. I asked for no onion. Didn't get it. I wanted it cold but evidently they come hot. I wanted it to go, didn't ask. Then I told him one combo and rings up two. My fiance and I went to Firehouse for the first time last night and we will definitely be going back. I had the Sweet 'N Spicy Meatball sub and she had the Steak and Cheese. Both were incredible. I love meatball subs but I rarely get them because they tend to bland and get soggy quickly - not true here. The marinara sauce was incredible and the sub was full of flavor. i was actually disappointed when I gott oo full to finish it. They have an array of hot sauces you can use to add to your sub, as well as many different drinks to choose from. The staff was great and the shop was fun. We will definitely be back. read more

i make a mean sandwich, but nowhere as mean as firehouse subs. i thought my boyfriend was crazy when he tried to tell me that they're the "best sandwiches ever, even better than subway" (i'm a huge meatball marinara fan) but i'll probably never eat subway again or make my own for that matter after coming here. there's a few reasons why this place is great: the food is good (and HUGE), i love what they stand for (full firefighter and future firefighter support), and the hot sauce choices. i'm not sure if you're supposed to try every single one until you find the right combo but we sure do enjoy trying the various hot sauces they have on deck for the customers. my personal preference is a little of their homemade goodness with some "blaze" sauce. so far my favorite sammy is the "hero" but i plan on dipping into the others next time. they have pictures to show you what the sandwiches look like as you're waiting in line which i love because nothing sells my tummy on something more than a delicious visual. the sandwiches are really big, too. normally we split a regular sized sandwich but the last time we went we got a large with the intention of saving half of our halves for the next day. i devoured my entire half in like 7 minutes cause it was too good to put down and wait to finish till the next day. i also would've dipped into the other half, had i had the choice. the only reason i gave this four instead of five stars is because you do have to wait a decent amount of time. i wouldn't suggest coming here for your lunch break unless you like to eat super fast/be late returning to work. read more

I went in there today for the first time and it was awesome! The subs were really good! On top of that, the crew working the night shift were by far the nicest coolest people! I placed an order and it was wrong. But once I told the crew what had happened, though it was close to closing time, Robert and Joshua very nicely took care of the situation and fixed the order without any hesitation and they both nicely handed me the correct order! This is my first time trying this chain. I pretty much got excited about the hook & ladder commercial. Figured its saturday I'd get out for a saturday ride and check the shop out. Its clean,busy for a Saturday afternoon. So i got the N.Y Steamer, and Meatball. Toss them my pack and ride hm. Looking fwd.smashing theses subs after riding the canyons all morning long hard and fast. These will be the things that sliw the day down to relax. Hell yeah Semper Fi Made it home and smashed half of each sub. Like the meatball glad i went light on the sauce and I am glad i did. I don't like when the bread is all soggy do to the sauce. The steamer was really good had onions and blk.olives added that was a good call. Course i would have to agree with some ppl that said the bread could be a bit crustier. Took advantage of the free medium Sub on my hubby's Birthday this past week. Wow, love the food!
