    Turkey Bacon Ranch Combo
    Beverly S.

Over the years the service has gradually gotten worse but is not quite bad (yet) but the sandwiches always hit the spot. I always order the turkey bacon ranch and my better half orders the brisket and cheddar and we trade out half. They have these kettle cooked jalapeño cheddar chips that can't be found anywhere (I've searched high and low) so of course those are my go to. The freestyle always Hi-C orange. So for me that's a perfect lunch combo. The vibe is laid back, most of the time we grab and go but occasionally sit in.

Sammiches! Have you seen how big these are and how fresh these sandwiches are? The bread is toasted to perfection not too crunchy it's just right. It's very soft and flavorful and yes the bread is. The deli meat was soft and tasted delicious. The vegetables were fresh and had flavor as you'd expect. It was as of their garden was right there. Customer service was the area that could use some improvement. At the register it felt very rushed. My order had a request and before I can even say she was already asking me if that was all. It gets awkward when you have to keep saying no. No my requests were not demanding ie: hold the mustard or no onions. Then we waited for about 20 minutes for our meals that were already ready. I finally got up and asked about it, because I noticed other people ahead were getting there's before ours. I didn't even get an apology it was just given to me. For this reason they aren't 5 stars.

New York steamer on gluten free bread

This place is bright with natural light, with lots of seating, and friendly staff. My son got a meatball sub on white. He said it was delicious and ate every bite. I ordered the New York steamer on the gluten free bun. It was warm and delicious, and the bread was soft and fresh. We have never been unhappy with a sandwich from here.

    Italian salad with grilled chicken

Food here is always good. First time having a salad. The Italian one with grilled chicken is delicious. Everything tastes fresh. I used to eat at Firehouse at least once a week years ago. They have the best hot sandwiches! They were one of the first restaurants to have the Freestyle soda machine where you choose a myriad of flavors. Workers here are pleasant. Love it!

This location has improved drastically compared with previous years. We went during lunch so it was a bit busy, but the cashier took peoples order in a timely manner. The wait for our food was about 15 minutes. The cold Italian was amazing and very delicious. Perfect meat to bread ratio and enough sauce. The steak sandwich on the other hand, was dry and hard. The price is a bit much, but I will be coming back!

Bought eight pickle buckets for water delivery. Six from this location and two from another location. Great deal for $3.

This review is only for the pickle buckets. I think it is a great business concept to sale these. It reduces waste and helps a foundation. See my main review located on the Cedar Park Firehouse Subs Yelp page.

    Italian - it was awesome

I came here on a whim, after a nice swim, from the nearby gym, and it ended up being a big win. I gotta say I was really delighted with my recent visit to this Firehouse Subs. Was expecting just another run-of-the-mill sub experience but the quality, taste, and look of my subs were just superb and exceeded expectations. They were doing a "tax day special" - buy 1 sub w/ chips and drink and get 1 sub free. I mapped out the closest Firehouse Subs location from my gym and hit em up. I've never been to this location, it's kinda tucked away from everyone else, but once you know where it is - it's all good. We got the popular Hook & Ladder (ham, turkey, jack cheese), got a free Engineer (turkey, swiss, sauteed mushrooms). Since my friend and I like variety we figured we'd split the subs, and since it was BOGO we decided to stock up for lunch tomorrow and also ordered the Italian Sub w/ extra onions, and got the new Pastrami for free. The manager Stacy made our subs, he was very diligent and thorough with the assembly. He even marked all the boxes w/ sub names. I got enthralled with the plethora of hot sauces and tried several of them before I locked down on 3-4 which I liked and got some to go. At the drink station we tried their iced tea - it was solid. In their fountain drink machine I found "low calorie cherry limeade" - - and that was really good. In fact the iced tea is so good here that other fast foodie competitors even pop over for a drinkage - - a nearby hamburger staffer shared this with me as she bought her iced tea in her burger uniform. Yay! This was just a delight, everything about the subs were great, fresh ingredients, quality meat, soft bread, and it looked aesthetically pleasing. Stacy did an awesome job and we'll definitely be back!

    Tuna Salad Sub
    Courtney B.

Today I ordered a couple of items to go for the family to inculde this tuna salad sub for me. The tuna for the sub was fresh and had a healthy amount of it. All other ingredients included such as the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and onions were all fresh as well.

When we found out, we rushed over for a Father's day meal. The atmosphere was pretty cool, interesting pictures on the walls, someone put a lot of effort, time and thought into the decorating of this establishment. All men running the joint, we told the guy who took our order(who was very nice), it was our first time here. They have been in business for 16 years(not at this location)! So lets get down to the food. My Husband ordered the two dog combo, one a Chicago dog, another a sauerkraut dog, it came with fries. He sad the dogs were amazing, they hit all the marks. The fries were ok, a little room temp(but to be fare we came there 30 minutes before closing). The soda's were really great, not two sirupy, not too carbonated, we enjoyed them. I ordered a pizza with Italian sausage added. They gave us our drinks for free, which was awesome. I didn't know what to expect with the pizza, but I was blown away by it. They should be very proud of the recipe they created. Most places over season/spice their sauces. The flavor of the tomato gets drowned out. This was absolutely not the case the sauce did not sow out the crust whatsoever it held its crisp the whole time. The sausage was wonderful. The cheese was everything you wanted on a pizza. I can say it's the best than crust pizza I think I've ever had. My husband tried it and we fought over who was going to be eating it for lunch tomorrow. It was huge. I wasn't expecting it to be that big. I will be dreaming about that pizza, and craving it. This is my go to place to get good pizza. It blows Nikki's out of the water. If you are craving some good then crust, pizza, or hotdog I suggest you go there. They also have chili fries, cheesesteaks, so much. They have one of those menus, where everything looks good, and it's hard to decide. Just try it. Warning, this pizza is 14 in(seemed bigger), and it being thin crust, and tasting so good, you might find yourself eating the whole thing. Wish we had pics to post, but we did not think of doing it, will do next time(which will probably be later this week, it was that good).

They offer two sizes, and we ordered the smaller regular Americana Cheesesteak, the Cartel, a shared order of fries, and two fountain drinks. Our total came to about $35, which felt like a good value for the amount of food. Service was friendly and they served our food to the table very fast. The fries were your typical frozen fries and came unseasoned, but that wasn't a big deal. We added our own seasoning. One thing to note is that they only serve Pepsi products. That's a big bummer for me because I'm a Dr Pepper girl, but it isn't a complete dealbreaker because they also offer tea. Now let's talk about my sandwich. It was loaded with so much meat that I couldn't even fit it in my mouth! I ended up taking some of the meat out and adding it to the fries, which turned out yummy. The steak was well seasoned, and the lettuce, tomato, and mayo ratio tasted perfect. If you're looking for a hearty cheesesteak that will definitely fill you up, Wise Guys is worth checking out. I'll definitely be back!

John passed away in early 2024, while his family took over the shop in Pflugerville. Now just about a decade after opening shop, Brotherton's is closing down at the end of August. Following John's passing, they've hit a few road bumps from the rising cost of beef that's been plaguing Texas BBQ. Earlier in January they posted on social media how they were struggling, and again last spring. At the start of August, the Brotherton's family announced Brotherton's Black Iron BBQ in Pflugerville was shuttering for good at the end of August. Knowing this would be the last time I would be able to try it, my buddy and I took an extended lunch break on a Friday to give it a shot. Upon arrival at just around 11:50, we noticed that the parking lot was packed with multiple food trucks and other businesses filling the shopping center. We got lucky with a parking spot far away as we marched inside to wait in line. On the door lay plenty of stickers from different BBQ joints from Texas and beyond, with even some coming from overseas. The line moved slowly but surely, and as we got to the front we got our three-meat plate with a bonus slice of turkey for good measure. We ended up getting to Brotherton's at the perfect time because we got the final slices of brisket on that glorious Friday. I'll share my thoughts on everything we tried: Brisket: Though it looked like a great cut that was nicely seasoned, it was pretty fine overall. Nothing remarkable about their brisket while still very fatty. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage: Juicy, cheesy, not really too spicy on the jalapeño side of things, but that might just be from the mildness of jalapeños these days. Pork Ribs: These suckers looked incredible from the pictures I saw online and on social media, but they were kinda disappointing based on how incredible they looked visually. They were good, just not as epic as I was hoping. Turkey: Turkey is underrated in the BBQ scene, and this is no exception. A nice cut of meat! Cornbread Casserole: I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. Green Chili Mac and Cheese: I'll repeat myself. I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. As a whole, I'm very glad I gave them a shot before I would never be able to again. That's the hardest part about Texas barbecue. The best places and the historic spots can drop in a moment's notice when hardships hit or the meat prices skyrocket. Sadly, I can tell that they're already at the end of their rope with certain menu options like the loaded nachos and baked potatoes, which always seem like the sign of the end. And with how the food was simply just decent overall, it's hard to justify the rising prices. I see reviews all over saying their quality has fallen off year after year following JMFB's passing, and it makes sense: he was the heart and the soul of the business. When that vaporizes overnight, it's only a matter of time. I don't wish for the downfall of any spot, but I understand that it's bound to happen to certain ones. RIYL: Paying respects to one of the greats in Texas BBQ
