This was just not good. I ordered while at work for myself and my coworkers. Ordering online was easy and convenient. We had someone pick up the order to bring it back to the office. The packaging of the sandwiches was terrible. A few of us ordered the meatball parm because that's what they are SO famous for! Clearly where ever they became famous no one know's a decent meatball, never mind a good one. The sandwiches were put into the foam container upside down (yes, there is a right side up place a sandwich). The cheese was completely stuck to the wax paper, we had to attempt to peel it off. Pro tip- you are in Jerz, there are real American sub shops and Italian delis around and it's a chain comparable to jersey mikes subs. The bread and meats are more processed than a mom and pop store that's serves boars head etc. Think "fill a hole" type food when stuck in airport.... read more

Place is different then most sub places. They greet you when u come in. Lots of different sub choices but they are pricey for what you get. Quality was ok but don't feel it's worth the price. Might try it again if I am in the area. read more

I love the hot and cold subs from here. I also love the whole fire house theme. Every time I come here I feel very welcomed. The portion sizes are more than enough half a sandwich filled me up pretty good. The salads here are also very good but I would recommend getting the dressing on the side. Order takeout on a sat afternoon and got the battalion sandwich. I asked for no lettuce and of course they put on lettuce. My favorite place to eat when I am at work. I work in the area and this place's food makes my whole day better. Their Captain Sorenson's is delectable to say the least. A key thing they have is a variety of drinks that other establishments don't have. Their hot sauce selection is vast and their service is top notch. I was very excited to see a Firehouse Subs had opened in NJ, even though it's an hour from my house. Anyway, we were in the area and I knew I had to go. The service was excellent there! The employees brought our food to our table and even checked if we needed anything. We wanted to tip them, but were told they can't accept tips. Now onto the food. It was delicious, just as I remembered. The hook and ladder is my favorite. My husband got a meatball sub with pepperoni also very good. 7/5/16 I tried Firehouse Subs for the first time tonight, and came away favorably impressed. I'm a big fan of subs, but had previously only sampled Subway, Blimpie, and Jersey Mike's in the area, so those are my bases of comparison. I particularly liked the bread used for the subs: light, but a bit heavier than the other places, with a nice amount of crispness to the crust. Sort of like a very light French bread. I ordered a large "Battalion Chief" combo, a roast beef based variety of sub. Delicious. This came to about $16, somewhat more expensive than the other sub chains, but not unreasonably so. (Most large subs on the menu are $3-4 less than this for the combo.) It was about a foot long, similar in size and heartiness to a footlong Subway or large (not giant) Jersey Mike's, though smaller than a large Blimpie. A nice touch is the hot sauce bar, a selection of 20 or so different brands of hot sauce, conveniently ranked in hotness by a numbered sticker on each bottle. Another plus, oddly enough, is the soda machine that dispenses the fountain drinks. (I was curious enough to search online, and found it is a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola_Freestyle.) It allows you to choose from something like 100 different drink varieties, arranged in 4 categories. Very neat! You don't have to pay extra for something from the drink case (and forego refills, as well) if you want a beverage other than the half dozen or so basic choices offered by the drink dispensers found in most other places. 8/29/16 I've now tried half a dozen or so different subs of theirs, and all were excellent, so I'm raising my rating from 4 to 5 stars. (Unfortunately, my favorite, the Battalion Chief sub mentioned above, has been discontinued, much to my disappointment.) If you eat here often, sign up for their rewards program online or by smartphone. $100 spent over previous visits earns you a free large sub. The staff is friendly and accommodating. this is the future of American sub restaurant. it's clean and the staff is great. they have a HUGE sauce selection which is a major plus. the have a ok variety of different sandwiches. you can choose hot or cold. one of the cool things they do is bring your food to your table. they also have their own signature cherry drink which is delicious. when you first walk in they greet you right away and make you feel welcomed. Very high quality subs and strong support for the local volunteers, what more could you ask for. The sandwiches are delicious and in the same price range as Subway, JJ, Blimpies etc. If you are near one and thinking about a sub from one of the other chains I can definitely tell you to at least try Firehouse Subs if you are near one. The pictures they put on the menu board are actually pretty close to what they serve you unlike most other fast food places. Clean, friendly, willing to help and nicely made sandwiches. We had 2 subs that had to be cooked and we were served within 5 mins. The manager was sitting at a table which pleased me. I like to see a manager available as opposed to sitting in a office in the back room having no clue what is going on. I dont know how or why someone would call the young men and women working there trash. They were great to me. It is a sandwich place not a restaurant. Our sandwiches were great with plenty of meat. Our bread was fresh and tasty. Cant wait to go back. Things are not always great when a new place opens so if your experience wasnt great the first time, give it a try again. I'm going to be quite frank here. With the exception of Ashley, the location's owner, the employees during each of my visits have a consistent track record of being completely worthless and utterly incompetent - screwing up my order no matter how many times I have them read back the substitutions / customizations to me; in a failed attempt to ensure they get it right for once is what Firehouse Subs does best! Furthermore, when I go back to complain and show them their mess up (after having to drive a few miles just to get there), they usually change from the cheery "Welcome to Firehouse!" to giving me the evil eye, rudely discarding the botched sub by snatching it out of my mother's hand (which I'd normally let my mother have as she's far less picky of an eater - shouldn't that be free since they fucked up?), and then subtly botching the replacement order out of spite (I ask for extra vinegar - instead I'm greeted to a completely dry loaf of bread where I have to add my own! Or I ask for double meat and don't get it) That being said, it's no wonder why I rarely see the same faces for more than a few visits. Speaking of double meat, if you're a fan of an all-meat sub with no filler such as lettuce or tomatoes, and you don't order both a large with double meat, prepare to be disappointed as the subs are ridiculously skimpy otherwise. What makes the experience even more frustrating is they have their counter designed so you can't watch them prepare the sub - meaning I can't correct them as they go and make sure they get it right the first time. I feel like from here on, I have to inspect the subs before I leave - which shouldn't be my job after paying $15! Hell, the fact that they're SO incompetent that I feel the dire need to babysit them as they make my sub alone is enough to make me just go to Quick Chek! Truth be told, if it wasn't for their monopoly on Virginia Honey Ham (best ham I ever had - which no one else seems to carry as other places have either virginia ham, or honey ham, but not one that's both at the same time), I'd never set foot in that god-forsaken place again! That's the ONLY reason why I keep putting up with their crap, otherwise I'd just make my own subs or order from a ma-and-pa deli. read more

I was never interested in trying this place, figuring it was just another average sandwich chain. A buddy insisted I gave it a try, so I caved. I tried the steamer sub at his recommendation, and I must say, I'm very impressed. A very tasty sandwich, with moist, freshly steamed corned beef & pastrami. They also keep a vast array of hot sauces, and have their own signature hot sauce which is a sweet & spicy blend. Also very tasty, so I bought a bottle to keep at the office. Will definitely be coming back here for lunch on multiple occasions.
