The cashier's body language was screaming that he didn't want to be there. He fired questions about toppings at me - did I want lettuce and mayo - with a tone that said it was my job to know what all the options are. They let everyone in front of me leave without once pointing out that trays were available, too. One guy was holding two sandwiches in one hand and a platter of fries in the other. The sandwich bread had no hint of freshness to it, the ratio of bread to fillings was too bread-heavy, and my fries were oily. The Rockaway and Bridgewater Charley's do this formula much better. read more

All come in 3 sizes - small, medium or large - depends on how hungry you are and if you want to share or not. Can also make it a combo to with fries and a drink for a little more. Surprisingly good. I honestly didn't expect much from a chain restaurant food court cheesesteak place, but the Chicken Teriyaki Cheesesteak was quite tasty. Everything is made fresh. You can watch them make your sandwich, and they make adjustments on the fly per request, such as "more sauce" or "more well done". They seem efficient and clean. As for the rest, it's a food court. I'm from philly and every few years I make the mistake of getting a cheesesteak from a random place and then I want to cry. This was one such place. THe meat was essentially steak-ums. The bread was below par. The whiz, which everyone from philly knows is key, was globbed on the meat (rather than the bread) in such quantities so as to give the eater a potential artery blockage. Delightfully tasty Willowbrook Mall Food Court experience. I am a Philly suburbs girl who knows her pizza and cheesesteaks. Been to Pat's at 2 am with friends (and Pat's is just an experience, the small no name shops in Philly and Jersey have the best.) Opted for a $5.99 special: small chicken Philly style and fries. Hmmmmm. Worried a minute when they asked did I want it with fried onions and peppers? Yes. Lettuce, tomato and mayo?????? No. We don't eat cheesesteaks with salad and def no mayo. What I watched getting cooked on the hot grill was good. And it was very good. Fries were a thicker cut: good too though I prefer thinner. Got a coupon: buy one, get one free in 2020. Def doing that. Charley's decided to take a choppy almost rubbery hotdog roll and put chopped steak-um and call it a cheesesteak. The cashier was hard of hearing or just illiterate. I clearly told her I want a plain old cheesesteak with onions and peppers add bacon, what I got was that and lettuce and tomato (sacrilegious) what weirdo does that. I really couldn't complain cuz I found this out at home. Ask for bacon cheese fries and the fries where dumb soggy.. why?!.. this is not a place I recommend or will revisit. On top of the bad service the location is horrible.. it's in the middle of the malls food court. Oh before I for get no one was wearing gloves but where very happy to handle your food as they are talking over you the grill.this place is classless and sleazy. YES, I can make a better cheesesteak! Absolutely delicious Philly cheese steaks here! The cheese is very generous and melty and the regular fries have the perfect amount of crisp and softness to them. Also the lemonades are wonderful too. I'm craving another one now just thinking about it. I haven't tired much else on the menu but I'm sure they won't disappoint. The service is quick and efficient and they ensure your order is the way you customized it. Charlie's is the bomb, especially when you haven't had it in years! The teriyaki chicken is the only thing I've ever gotten here and I don't see myself ever getting anything else. I got the large ($10) today for the first time and, while it was delicious, I think I'll stick to the regular (about $7) going forward. There was something about the amount that took some magic away... like, too much of a good thing, you know? The regular leaves you wanting more, while the large was a bit much. Yesterday, we stop in again unexpectedly as we were in the area. Red orders the regular cheese steak and fries. I learning from my last experience, know I want the LARGE cheese steak and fries. We are greeted by the franchise owner, who apparently remembers us. Not much to say other than the cheese steaks were still great. The fries were freshly made and HOT. The only minor thing is I would prefer a little less ice in my drink, and more soda. I tend to use a lot of drink when I eat. Otherwise, the service is excellent and they pay attention to detail. Over all, we look forward to returning to Charlies of Willowbrook Mall again and again for fresh, hot cheese steaks. Maybe even something else if we can tear ourselves away from the cheese steaks. Hey for a fast food joint they happen to be one of the better ones. You will usually wait on a line which moves quickly. Their sub's, both steak and chicken are good. Their fries work for me. This Charley's is located inside the Food Court in the Willowbrook Mall. Yes, there other plenty food spots in the court but if you want a descent sandwich and fries with a drink this is the place to stop by in. A great intermission while shopping. Your feet and belly will thank you both. So Yelpers make your way there. read more

Food is AMAZING, customer service sucks. They work too fast and don't pay attention to the additional items you want. We told the lady at the front which items we want but because there was a line she said the guy at the end will ask you what you want. When we asked for peppers and onions the guy says you didn't pay for that. We didn't mind paying extra. They are rushing to get the line down they didn't pay attention! read more

I literally just left and I'm thoroughly disappointed. There were 3 guys there, none of whom looked like they wanted to be there. I ordered 2 meals with drinks and fries. My sandwich was fine but the fries were extremely bland and over cooked. On top of that I had drinks and they were so flat it was disgusting. My sprite tasted like seltzer water. I've only visited Charley's about 5 times and I keep coming back every time. The employees almost never seem rude, but they move pretty quickly which is okay with me. I never had problems with service. Now let's get to the food. The food is great. The subs are great. I have tried the chicken teryaki sub and it was delicious! Never tasted anything so good! The fries are good too, as they are not too salty, which is an upside since I can't eat too much salt. The lemonade tastes fresh, just very sweet, but what do you expect from a lemonade? She apparently made a mistake so the manger came to say she did it wrong and helped fixed it but what bothered us is that he seemed annoyed. Co-worker asked me to stop by during my visit to the Livingston Mall to pick up a sandwich (ref code from receipt 5548 S). As soon as I approached the counter, the guy says "go over to Nathan's to order". I looked at him and said, I was not there for Nathan's I wanted to order from his counter. (By the way, Nathan's & Charlie's Philly Steaks at side by side in the Mall). The lady at the Nathan's register proceeds to take my order and I believe she was new so the fumbled the order a bit. The same guy from the Charlie's side shouts over to her "$7.19". He then starts to make the sandwich and grumbled the entire time. I think he was having a majorly bad day as he gets done and hands it off to another guy who was assisting him. They continued a venting session in front of me, neither acknowledging that I was standing there in full ear shot of everything they were saying - talking over the food. The sandwich was thrown in the box and guy #2 didn't look at me but handed me the bag without a thank you or anything. i sometimes frquent this and the location at newport mall. i always get the small combo and it depends on who makes it some they are cheap with the peppers &oniopns---not enough, i once bitint a french fry ant it knocked out my filling !ait was a good thing that the lady was with me knew the heimlich menuver as she had to give it to me . i watch now ever since that happened and if the fries look to done i ask for a new batch i even let them give me a sample one to try i will still come here as i love cheesestakes but im now more cautious .dont worry you wont loose mee as a customer ill still eat here when im at willow brook mall and desire a cheesesteak sandwich . the chicken one is good also read more
