    Chicken pesto sub

So we were driving around and ended up here. It is a winery but does have a limited menu and I am not really sure that they are comfortable serving food. I did ask the person if they serve food. She told us yes, when we are ready we need to order "at the bar." Keep in mind, there was a family of four and us. Actually the food was quite tasty. My husband had the burger and I had the pesto chicken sandwich. Both came with chips. If you are ordering wine, you get nice glasses. Pop or water come in plastic cups. And it is canned pop. The seating is rather uncomfortable. Backless Stools at large round tables (think large cable holders).

Had a great time here. Came here with 8 people and ordered food and wine. Was amazing on both counts. Staff were incredible and accommodating. Would come here again for sure.

We stopped for lunch and a tasting! Everything was amazing!!! We had a chicken pesto sub with tomato soup, garlic knots, and cheese pizza. We also took home half a case of wine. Service was excellent and we will be back!!!

I was in town w for work and wasn't aware of what to do. After a search, I saw the area had several wineries. Since this wasn't expected, I decided to check one out for a tasting. Firelands seems to be one of the larger and older wineries. They did their tastings at a table at their restaurant because of Covid precautions. This made the experience very different than my expectations. It felt more like having a drink at a restaurant as opposed to a tasting where you learn about the wine. You have to choose which flight you want to try, which again made it more like having a drink than a tasting. The staff didn't tell you about the wines because they were more servers. The restaurant seemed like the food would be good, but ultimately I was disappointed in the tasting. If you're looking for lunch/dinner or a place to grab a drink with friends, then this seems like a good place, but it wasn't what I expected when visiting a new winery.

Traveling from Cincinnati, Ohio and staying in Huron for a couple of days for vacation. My Mr and I was looking for a dog friendly Winery. We called many places and this place was it. Decided to try it out and was super impressed. If you want to dine in on the outside patio, you have to walk in the winery and let them know. Plenty of seating that honors that 6 foot rule and staff takes extra precautions to practice safety. Our section of the patio was perfect. Shaded and plenty of room. Our Frenchie was content. We wanted to experience the whole winery. So we decided to get flights. Domestic White $4.00 Barrel Select Chardonnay Pinot Grigio Riesling Traminette Domestic Red $4.00 Pinot Noir Dolcetto Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Added Cabernet Franc and Malbec for 1.00 each. My faves was the Malbec and Cabernet Franc that we ended up getting bottles to take home plus the Sparking Brut. We wanted to stay for awhile and got two glasses. I enjoyed the Malbec and my Mr got the Pinot Noir. We got hungry and wanted to try their Pizzas (they also serve cheese trays and small bites) since it looked so good. We ended up getting the Margherita Pizza drizzled with Balsamic glaze. So delish. For dessert we thought we would get a Sample of Ice Wine tasting 3.75. That just hit the spot! I went inside and explored. They have a wine station and a gift section of TShirts and accessories. My Mr got me a wine tank and coaster. Overall it was a great experience and glad we payed them a visit. Staff very knowledgeable with wines and helpful!

Great place to go if you're in the Sandusky area. In Covid times, the outdoor seating is a great way to be cautious and still enjoy some time out. The indoor area was very clearly marked to ensure appropriate distancing. They often have live music set up and the seating is very comfortable and spaced out. We were seated at the outdoor seating, got a few flights of wine and each had a pizza. The cheese trays looked great as well.

We had a great experience at Firelands Winery last night dining on their spacious patio. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable and the food delicious. We had a flight of wine and an individual glass. The gentleman at the bar gave great advice as to what to order. For dinner we each had a Tuscan Apple Salad and shared a pizza made with house made cherry tomato sauce. It was easily one of the best pizzas we've ever had. We will definitely be back!

Before my lady and I came to Huron, OH, I promised I'd take her to a local winery. After doing a little research, I happened upon this one, a mere 15 minutes away from where we are staying. So we decided to check it out. A promise is a promise, right? And I'm glad we choose this one too! Fantastic experience all around! I called before we left to make sure it was open and that they were dog-friendly. They said they're open until 9pm and that dogs are welcomed on the lower patio. That was cool with us, so we went. The place itself is very open and spacious with the vineyards all around it. All seating is done by a hostess inside, including patio seating, which is understandable in our current climate of COVID-19. After we got our seats, the hostess explained all the menus and how the wine flights worked, which we were definitely up for some wine flights, of which they had a great variety of options. The wine list was pretty impressive and mostly made on site (some were imported from Italy). They also offer cheese trays featuring local cheeses, garlic knots, and pizzas. We opted for their domestic white flight (barrel select Chardonnay, pinot grigio, riesling, and traminette) and domestic red flight (pinot noir, dolcetta, Cabernet Sauvignon, and merlot). We also asked for a taste of their Cabernet franc and malbec. All the wines were very tasty! There wasn't a single one we didn't like. Though after a few tastes, we decided to have a glass of wine each, and a pizza because we were both a little hungry. So my lady ordered a glass of malbec, I ordered a pinot noir (loved the peppery notes on it), and we split a margherita pizza. The pizza was delicious too and paired well with both wines. After we were finished, I was curious about their ice wine, so we asked for a taste. It was definitely rich and sweet but also very good. I think it topped off our experience. We enjoy the wines so much that we scored a few bottles before leaving (a Cabernet franc, a malbec, and a brut champagne). I also got a couple wine coasters (because they look like flip flops) and a tank top for my lady. I could easily see us going back here again. Great place with great wine, delicious food, a very relaxed atmosphere, and excellent staff.

    Great selection of wine.

In April I contacted The Winerie about a Christmas Party on Dec. 5th 2025, at that time I spoke with the Manager who was let go before our party. We received all the menues and contracts. We signed the contract and made the deposit. In October we never heard from anyone to finalize the menu so I reached out to the said Manager and I was told she no longer works there and gave me the "new" managers number. I called and sent numerous texts with no response. We finally called Winerie and spoke with a bartender who stated she would have someone call me back. I did get a text that said when is the best time to call you, I told her anytime before 2:30. A few days later she called back we touched base on what we had planned, she asked if we signed a contract and made a deposit as she has no record of us booking. From that point on I no longer had phone conversations with anyone everything had to be done via text. When I asked if someone could call she stated no she is very busy as she wears many hats. Fast forward to the time of our party!! UGH they had 5 tables reserved with a white tablecloth on them thats it no salt/pepper no water nothing. Okay fine we can overlook that. The food was finally served and they put out a tossed salad that was big enough for 1 person, when we went to ask for more they stated sorry we have no more lettuce in the whole place. We were supposed to get rolls and butter nope they didn't have those either. When we went to the bar for beer they ran out of that as well we had to change what we drank. The roasted carrots where hard the potatoes where spungy. The chicken was DRY as the saraha desert. The lasagna was very good. We ran out of food!!! We had to go to the bar and ask if they had any more they said oh yes we will get someone to bring more. They brought our more lasagna and some cabbage that they called a salad but never brought out any chicken. We had to ask for salt and pepper, and more plates. No one cleaned off the tables after dinner we had to bus our own tables and put them on an empty table. One of our guests bit into a bite of chicken and pulled out a 3" piece of dark hair that had food attached to it. The desert constisted of cheesecakes from Sams Club. No one came to check on us at all during the evening, we had to go ask where we were set up, and had to ask when food was going to be served. When we went up to pay they did take money off the bill because we complained but then turned around and charged us a 20% gratuity. Why, why didn't we get to say what we wanted to pay because we had no service other than the bartenders getting the drinks. I do not recommend this facility RUN!!! The tasting options allowed you to either choose a flight or pay $1.50 per tasting, and we opted for the latter. While their selection of dry reds was limited, the Adonia Berry caught my attention. A medium dry wine, it tasted like biting into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich--absolutely delicious. We couldn't resist walking away with two bottles of the Retriever Red Apple Blend. With our daughter @morganmmiller being a golden retriever lover, we knew she'd appreciate the bottle just as much as we did. Overall, it was a wonderful experience at this winery. Cheers to a great visit!

One sweet, which I don't care for sweet wines, the second, which I chose was lacking flavor. No body to the wine. Very disappointing. My wife tried 2 whites, she didn't care for either. They did not have a chardonnay or anything close. The traditional cheese tray was obviously pre- cubed cheeses, some plain soda crackers and a half a peach. I asked about getting a half order or the "gourmet " cheese tray but the server said they don't offer it because everything is pre-proportioned, which leads me to believe it's from Costco or the like. All in all pretty disappointing. Ww love stopping at wineries but unless friends want to go, ill avoid this one. We have frequented the orchard store for decades but even that has gotten so expensive we have cut back.
