Brian is the BEST!!! I have had 3 other heating companies come to my home for the same issue with my furnace. It's on but there is no heat. 4 Seasons charged me $1300 last March and Brian said the only issue is that I needed to change my filter. It was dirty and clogging the furnace. I called him at day's end 2 days ago and by the same time yesterday, the new furnace (replacing my 25 yr. old one) was installed. Posted on local FB page about getting ripped off by a local company. Someone recommended Fireman Heating and Cooling. They had great reviews everywhere I looked them up. They sent Austen to clean my old furnace which we thought was being taken care of by the 'other guy'. What a mess it was when Austen opened it up. He was here for over an hour. Knew what he was dealing with and cleaned it thoroughly. I mean.... it looks and runs like a brand new antique heating system. I can not say enough kind things about his courtesy, professionalism and his work. I Highly recommend this company without question. If you are considering hiring professionals, look them up on yelp. Brian Wieringa, proprietor of Fireman Heating and Cooling was with Berlack Heating and Cooling for 20 years until it closed in April 2016. He is now starting his own business, so although it is recent, his experience is extensive. I just phoned him for a second opinion after being told I needed to completely replace my air conditioner, both the indoor and outdoor portions, for $3,000!! The recommendation to call him came from a friend. My heart was so low; $3,000 is a great deal of money to need to suddenly drop, unexpectedly. I was hoping he could do the job for a slightly better price. Instead, he discovered that all that was needed was a change of filter!!! Can you imagine my thrilled relief? I am an older woman living alone and, more than once, have been cheated by people in this field. Brian is many cuts above the norm. He is a fireman, a Lieutenant, and so has a history of being a caring person spreading good in the world. I have finally found an HVAC company that I, as a woman alone, can trust not to cheat me. We have known Brian for close to 20 years, going back to when he worked for Berlack's. When Berlack's closed, we were thrilled when Brian stopped by to share the news that he was starting up Fireman Heating and Cooling. It is so reassuring to have a competent and caring individual to count on for regular service and in an emergency. This really became apparent recently when a power surge took our furnace out of commission. Brian quickly arrived on the scene, diagnosed the problem, secured the parts, and got the heat back on.
