    Greek Gyro
    Kayla D.

Great spot for dining at a nice restaurant without feeling like you need to dress to the 9s. Outdoor seating is large on a nice summer day! Service was very accommodating with allergy limitations. The Greek gyro came on a hot stone which I felt was a bit unnecessary and made it difficult to assemble and eat.

Dined on a Thursday, sat around 5pm and dining room half full by 5:30p. Nice sized bar. Happy to see food and drink specials. Expresso Martini was superior to many - slightly sweet, strong Expresso flavor. Perfect! Thursday is the first night of a Prime Rib weekend feature - had to try it. Yes! Amazing! Huge serving. Nice creamy horseradish sauce and due to my allergy they brought me straight, FRESH horseradish. We were both so happy with the Prime Rib, perfectly seasoned. Green Beans very firm, I prefer more soft but my husband loved the snap. Great service, multiple people checked on us. This place is a gem! We'll be back

    Ribeye

The cooking rock intimidated me...I added the blue cheese to my ribeye. I feel the flavor could have been improved if they cooked the cheese into the steak. Overall flavor was nice and I appreciate that. I also had the coconut pie which was ok. The server was absolutely fantastic!

    Live music by Mark!

I've always enjoyed dinner here, but my favorite is on a hot summer night, sitting outside next to the golf course. And tonight there happened to be live music by a friendly gentleman named Mark. I'll come back again, trust me.

This restaurant is so yummy, and sharing this meal with Rob and Lori was such a delight. We all chose a dish that comes on a black rock heated to 500 degrees that we got to cook ourselves the way we wanted it. What was so great about cooking ourselves is that our entire meal was always hot. As a person who eats vegetarian I was super impressed by how many options there was on their menu for me to choose from. Now let me talk about our server Victoria who was absolutely lovely! She was knowledgeable, friendly and gave us great service. If I lived here I would definitely be back and I would request Victoria.

    Crab & Artichoke Dip

We came here with a large group. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and handled the large group like a pro. The food was mediocre at best. We started with the crab artichoke cheese dip. While it was good, it tasted only of cheese and artichoke, we couldn't detect any crab or see any. The crackers it came with were good. I had the gnocchi brisket for an entree. The gnocchi, veggies, and sauce were delicious, but the brisket was bland, dry, and reminiscent of chopped pastrami lunch meat. For the price, I expected more from the seafood and meats in the dishes. I'd give it another try if I was out that way.

Located on a golf course that's open to the public. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant. Food was delicious and the waitress gave excellent suggestions.

Best food we have had in a restaurant in mid-Michigan in many YEARS. Absolutely delicious flavors and kind, professional staff. The bread and butter were so delicious I ordered some to go. Steak was seasoned well and very tender. Highly recommend

    Sangria
    Amanda V.

Stopped here for lunch after a morning of shopping with friends. Very nice atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt. My sangria was very flavorful and not watered down. I did the pick 2 where you get to choose a half sandwich and then soup or salad. I did the pretzel prime rib sandwich. It had great flavor and I loved the horseradish sauce. Gave it a nice bite. The French onion soup was also very good and paired great with the beef sandwich. I would definitely go back!

Service was top notch from start to finish. Plates were cleared between each course, we were checked on often but not too much and felt super taken care of. The tart strawberry mocktail was one of the best I've ever had, refreshing and perfectly balanced. We started with the truffle arancini- it sits on top of a bed of black pepper aioli which was to die for. The gem salad was fresh- loved the addition of crispy prosciutto&mandarins. I had the double waygu burger with fries(highly recommend asking for a side of the black pepper aioli for your fries!!) while my husband had the hanger steak frites. Both were cooked perfectly and SO flavorful. We were stuffed, but had to finish with the tiramisu. It came in a chilled glass- so appreciate the attention to detail. I'll be thinking about this meal until I can come back for more!

Food is fresh, service is excellent and the ambiance is cool too. My waitress was on it with her recs! She helped me find a gin drink to my linking and talked up the scallops. I got them and loved it! Dishes were a bit garlicky, but I like garlic! The bed tartar was wonderful and I enjoyed how they "chunked" the meat instead of making it a mush. My friend got a steak on top of the gnocchi and really enjoyed it! Overall I think this restaurant is worth the hype and canto wait to dine here again! It's important to know that if you want to dine here, plan to reserve a table ahead or plan to wait for a table. They hold 50% of table s for walk ins. Parking DT is always a challenge and once they build the soccer stadium, I imagine it will be craziness. It just takes a bit of planning.

He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and did a great job! No complaints. Food was delicious and portions were generous. I had the pineapple glazed shrimp and it was amazing! The second time, we came for lunch and had quite a different experience. Our waitress was young and seemed to be inexperienced (or not well trained?) It took forever to get our coffee. In the meantime, my soup arrived and it was lukewarm. I had to ask for it to be reheated. Flavor was good at least but it appeared to have been microwaved. Waitress was very inattentive. My order came out well before my mother's. I asked for a "warm up" on my coffee, and the waitress microwaved my coffee (she didn't add fresh hot coffee to the cup). She didn't know that's not normal. The waitress was very nice but didn't know how to be a good server. Aside from temperature issues, the food was very good. PS the bathroom door is so heavy that my elderly mother couldn't open it, and there is an open basket of trash in the bathroom, which was off putting in such a pretty restaurant

Overpriced and underwhelming…read more In any other city, this place would have its lunch eaten by better operations / food. ~$125 per person (before tip) for 2 steaks (ribeyes), 3 sides, and 2 Diet Cokes is a bit much considering the quality of food. Fries and brussels were delicious, but the lobster mac is overrated (bland) and our steaks were mediocre. Both were slightly overcooked (not a dealbreaker, but for $85/each I'd expect better). Add in the fact that they just drown them in butter and salt to hide the poor cooking (somehow, very little sear and barely any grill marks on one of the two steaks). Service was excellent - I'll give it that, but it was a little slow at the end once our meal had concluded to get us packed up / being a check. Atmosphere - it feels upscale, but that's just because of the prices and menu selection / options. Food came out quickly, portions were good for the price. They also validate parking for the lot just behind their building (street parking is tight / limited). Unfortunately, it's unlikely that we'd come back. Good news is, there are lots of other options for special occasions in town so weigh your options before booking here.

We arrived at 4:55pm for a 5pm reservation and had to wait outside in the cold / rain for 5 minutes with several other guests. It would've been a nice gesture to open the door 5 minutes early let us all take a seat in the foyer. Our waiter was a gem.. really friendly, knowledgeable, and made our experience better. The cocktails and refills took QUITE a long time, but once they did arrive we really loved the French75 & the espresso martinis. All appetizers were good: the truffle fries, oysters, and escargot. The biggest bummer of the night was that all three of us ordered filets and all 3 of them were cooked incorrectly. (I've attached a photo of my "medium" steak with bleu cheese crumbles.) We mentioned this to the waiter but nothing was done about it. I ended up scraping the bleu cheese off and trading steaks with my husband to get closer to the temperatures we ordered. They did taste good, and we enjoyed the spinach and au gratin potatoes as well. Overall, I'd choose Ruth's Chris over Bowdies any day. Ruth's steaks are always perfect, their fresh bread is delicious, and they have more options on their menu for the same pricing as Bowdies.
