I had a tire blow up on Sunday, I was able to reach the store at about 4:45/4:50 before closing and the person in the store just told me they were closing (closing time is 5:00pm). I get it. It's Sunday, employees probably aren't paid enough to care, but it's things like this that can build the reputation of a store. Changing -one- tire doesn't take one hour, in a common size takes five minutes at most, ten if you take it easy. Luckily i called a mobile tire installer who showed up and changed my tire. I drove by the day after and I saw they blocked the parking lot, I'm assuming might be pretty embarrassing to have someone stranded with a flat in front of a tire shop and refusing service because it's almost closing time, but not yet. Timing. Firestone is asking to make an appointment for an alignment which is normal. They asked me if i wanted to wait for my car or a drop off. They said it will take an hour, so I chose to stay and walk around the neighborhood, going back and forth to the station. Reality, it took 2 1/2 hours BEFORE they worked on my car! They NEVER called or txt or said they were behind. They just told me when i complained that the vehicle before mine took longer than expected!!!! Great, but couldn't they have told me that. Would have taken a uber and do something better of my time. This has happened before in the same location. I think they are short handed and they should train their front desk people to COMMUNICATE with the client and APOLOGIZE . That's basic in customer service and would have made a huge difference. Because I have an alignment plan, i am stuck using them, but I will look for another location, this one is off my list. read more

I should have looked at the YELP ratings here before taking my car to this place. I ended up not letting these people work on my car. The first call after I left it off came in with a very high estimate. I thought that if it was work that was actually required then I just had to bite the bullet. Within 2 hours I got another call, this time from another guy. Suddenly the work was going to cost more than double the original estimate because it MIGHT be necessary to extend the scope of the work. My sense about this place: they intentionally jack up the repair estimate and if you do not flinch they take you for a ride. It's about bringing in $$$ and you are just a paying customer. On top of everything , when I took the same car with the same problem to a place owned by a local family the diagnosis and repair work did not come close to the estimate in the thousands of dollars that I was given at Firestone. The problem was FIXED. I saved several thousand dollars. When I told my friends about this episode they made negative comments about Firestone. Sad what things have become in this day and age. read more

Of all the Firestone's I have been to in my travels of 18 years of Military Service, this is the most accommodating. Staff is always eager to help you even if it is at the end of the day. I came in at 5:18 pm, and they could have easily said we can't get to it tomorrow. This firestone is filthy. The bathroom, the floors, the counter, ceiling tiles falling down. Took 2 1/2 hours for an oil change with an appointment. The manager left no one in the lobby. Someone one said sorry about the wait but I believe they took cars before me and didn't pay attention to the appointment time. Helpful and friendly staff, and you can't beat their lifetime alignment option for your vehicle! They also have some decent tire package deals and lifetime balance options that not all places have. Been using Firestone a long time and plan to continue to do so. read more

Outstanding service all around! I was blown away by how incredibly fantastic I was treated here,they took care of my Mustang and gave me a great deal on my repairs. Walked in 30minutes till closing with a brake kit that had come loose from a day earlier.(Done elsewhere) They saved me by getting it taking care of it for me as well as taking care of my tie rods,and alignment as well. It was more than fairly priced. They kept me informed and it was done in a days time. The manager here just got sent to this location from Colorado & he was very on top of everything. Very concise & I appreciated his candor. Definitely will be back when I need care care & would recommend this location to others. read more

I would give a zero if it were an option. Took my car in for an oil change and was told that I needed a new battery, a new belt, and an alignment. I declined the service and had a trusted mechanic check everything. Everything was fine!!! Interesting tactics-- they had a woman call to build trust and they pushed for a quick decision. The prices were also inflated. To replace the belt I was quotes $165. The oil change was $111. Stay away from this Firestone. I can't express my distaste and disappointment. read more

The manager (Chester or Chris) at the Firestone Complete Auto Care at 4800 Broadway in Alamo Heights, TX, needs to be fired immediately. If you value your loved ones and their safety, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! This is the worst location to go get any auto service done at. My girlfriend took her car in to get a tire replaced, had to take an Uber back home because she was told it was going to take until the next day to get to it (overnight to replace a tire??). When she went to pick up her car the next day, she was charged $300+ for the tire. Fun fact: THE TIRE WAS NEVER ACTUALLY REPLACED. That's right. They let her leave with the damaged tire still on the car. Not sure what they did, oh wait, yes I do: They did NOTHING. Oh wait, it gets better! When she goes back to the location, the manager starts arguing with her, doesn't apologize and actually says "Well, why did you pay or leave without the tire being replaced?" UMM, SERIOUSLY!?!? I thought tire care was YOUR responsibility, Mr. Manager??! Had something happened to that tire on the freeway my girlfriend could have been seriously injured or worse. Yet, no apology and actually putting the responsibility on the customer for his mistake?? I'm in customer service and this is one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We will be telling all our friends and family to NEVER go to this location for any service. We know many people in Alamo Heights, so this manager just cost his location and Firestone tens of thousands of dollars. It's unbelievable to me how someone can be so flippant and cavalier about a customer's safety, yet still have a job as a manager. The cashier and service itself werent bad. My issue was with the mechanic. I went in for a simple tire patch. Mechanic told me repeatedly he couldnt work on my tire due to the wheel lock despite me not having any wheel locks on my truck. When i said that i would just leave and take my tire to get patched elsewhere he changed his tune. Once the service was complete and it was time to drive the truck out of the shop he floors it and does laps around the building and nearly hits a van that was parked out front, all while i was watching. The absolute disregard for not just my property but somebody elses and the sheer ineptitude is beyond me. By far the worst tire service ive ever received. read more

Don't believe anything they say about timing. When I made the appointment they said it would take an hour. When I arrived it increased to an hour and a half. Now almost 3 hours later I'm still waiting. After 3 hours I was told they don't have the parts necessary for the alignment. Now I will need to take it somewhere else to get this done. read more

I'm literally here right now. They said it would take 15 minutes to fix a hole in my tire. I've been here for an hour and twenty minutes.. and counting. If I could leave a review with zero stars I would. What's worse, forget about me, there was a young lady here before me and she was here for an oil change. When she was finally called to pay, they told her they replaced her break light bulb. I overheard her ask about the oil, they replied with "Oh, we didn't get to that but we can get that started for you after we fix this tire(mine)." It's important to know who you can trust when it comes to your vehicle's condition and safety. I'm very happy to say I have found a place I will ALWAYS be bringing my business to. No crazy upcharge, very transparent with the work that needs to be done and explaining in regular people words what that means for me. 1 hour commitment turned into a 5 hour wait. All I needed was 1 tire to be replaced. The Manager accused me of being late... I had no appt., my tire got there at 2:15pm, I arrived at 2:45. This place is a joke, very unhelpful. Would not change my oil cause the dipstick handle broke off, got it home and took the dipstick out with a pair of pliers in 2 seconds. Will never go or reccomend this establishment. read more

This place is a pain. I've used Firestones in the past, always bought my tires from them etc. I cannot, NOT recommend this location enough! Took my 2010 Prius there for an oil change when I arrived to pick it up they insisted the last place I got my oil changed (the dealer) broke my oil filter cap. Luckily I have a great dealer & they were more then happy to replace it, but when they went in to do so it was quite the opposite and not broken at all, I got to see it for myself. To top it all off Firestone told me because it was 'broken' they wouldn't replace my filter, another lie there was a brand new filter, so someone at firestone did go in a replace it. I have been to this Firestone on multiple occasions and this review will speak to the experience I have had regularly. It if very close to my work and a convenient location to drop off for an extended amount of time if needed. The service has been horrible on every occasion and the price is outrageous for completing any work other than an oil change, which can be a good deal. The reason it is such a great deal is because they take hours if not days to complete said oil change. Also, they use the oil change to try and convince you to do alternate work that does not need to be completed at that time and could probably wait until your next service. If they say they will call you in 30 minutes they mean at least 2 hours. If they say it will be ready by 2:00 pm, be prepared for the work not to be completed until 6:00 pm. Using this Firestone location has been useful due to it's location but a nightmare for costumer service and timeliness. Please, if you can take your needs elsewhere, they do not deserve the multiple second chances I have given them. read more

I had a great experience here when getting my Texas auto inspection. The manager was super helpful and went out of his way to speed up the job, as I was waiting in the store. Took about 20 minutes. Can't speak for actual work done but for inspections, this place beats Midas. read more

If you make an appointment here, do not expect to have them honor it in a timely manner. I made an 8:00am the day before and it took them 45 minutes before get my car into a bay. During that time, I watched as 4 other "walk-ins" simply drove in and had the technicians check their tire pressure. So... what the hell are appointments for? I have been using this location for over 5 years to get my standard oil change and inspection stickers. Each time the service got worse (not resetting my oil change light, leaving dirty marks in my car, etc.). The week before Thanksgiving was the last straw. I took my car in for an oil change. I made an appointment online and had no trouble getting in. They got it done pretty fast considering it was near closing time and that should have been a tip-off. I didn't notice until the next day that they had not done ANY of the extras they promise with the oil change; filling up the fluids, putting air in the tires. They also left the old oil change sticker on my windshield and just slapped a new one on there haphazardly. I called the manager and he was apologetic and told me to come in and they would fix it. However, I needed it done that day so I just had to go and do all those things myself. I was already over them, and this last visit convinced me. I've enjoyed the service at the Goodyear on St. Mary's downtown and they usually have better coupons. read more

I was out an about and parked my car and came back and it wouldn't start. After doing a quick google and seeing it was most likely the battery being dead. Then seeing this was close we got a battery and they drove us back to our car and helped us but the new battery in. The man was so nice and our car started right up. Frequently use Firestone for routine service. Had a problem that occurred suddenly and required immediate attention. While our vehicle is new, being in a strange city dealer service was not an option in that appointments were days away. I went to Firestone and encountered a very friendly and efficient young man by the name of Steve. While initially the problem appeared to be more major it was eventually diagnosed by there very knowledgeable mechanic. The issue was a simple switch issue. During the process internal miscommunication occurred which caused a delay that set us back two days. When Steve became aware of the problem he apologized sincerely and quickly for their error and immediately had the appropriate mechanic on the issue. The sincerity of the apology and quick remediation really shows that this facility is one I can rely on for any auto issue. read more

This place is not a good idea for an oil change. They have too many other jobs they'll put ahead of you. I was super unimpressed by the service as well... I drove up and just sat there waiting to be directed in a certain direction and these two guys are watching me and doing nothing. So, I rolled my window down and kind of hollered at them asking where to drive in. Well, the lazy dude just walks slowly up to my car as if I'm putting him out and I ask how long the wait will be... He goes on to explain they have bigger jobs ahead of me that they're working hard on and it'll be an hr wait. Funny how they were working so hard on these jobs when I was sitting there watching him and his buddy chit chat like there wasn't any worry in the world. I hit the road and tried Volvoline. I was out within 10 minutes and the service was awesome!. Would not recommend these guys at the Broadway Firestone location. read more
