I came here because my car was making noises. I had great customer service from everyone there. The part I needed had to be ordered & they where able to get the part the following day & fix. It took a good portion of the day, but I was able to pick up the same day unlike some places where I would have to leave overnight. I do wish they where a little more detailed in the diagnostic. They just said everything looked good. I also didn't ask for a oil change, but was charged for one. So just double check your bill before you leave. I didn't go back and complain about that because my car did need a oil change. So not angry about that, just would have liked a heads up. Overall I will definitely be back for other maintenance issues. They are quick & have good customer service. read more

These guys are inept. I took it there to diagnose a check engine light. After a week with no call back, they charged me $300 and told me I needed an engine rebuild that they couldn't do. Turns out it was a thermostat. I could have started a campfire with cash kindling instead of wasting a week with these idiots. Steer clear if the wheel works. If it doesn't, plow thru! read more

Horribly overpriced! Took my wife's car in for a brake job and they wanted to do a 100k job for over $2650! For only brakes, they wanted $1200! Took it to an honest mechanic and paid $300! Do not recommend this place!!!! read more

DO NOT TRUST RANDALL OR LEE! They tried to charge me almost $1,000 fir something that was not in need of repair at all. Then changed a perfectly good hose and over charged snd thought it was funny. Then Randall and Lee threatened me for wanting it corrected. Just found out they messed with my brake fluid line and it won't hold brake fluid. AND i bought my own oil filter and premium oil...they pur on their cheap ones and reused oil anx jept my good ones. A frienx took his car there to have his brakes fixed. They kept his car for 2 days, and in his way home it caught on fire!! From their shady work!!! DON'T TRUST THEM!! THEY'LL OVER CHARGE YOU FOR REPAIRS YOU DON'T NEED. The gentlemen here are so very polite, listened to the concerns I had about my car, and without an appointment and had me in and out in a timely manner. The employees were honest with me about what was wrong with my car, in addition to what I said needed fixed, gave me an estimate and offered military discount. The waiting room is comfortable and air conditioned. The employees did not leave my car dirty, and did not charge me an obnoxious amount for parts and labor at all. I'm glad I took time to read reviews, and trusted the ones before me who said Texaco was great and reasonably priced! Would highly recommend! read more

I have never had a bad experience at Ken's Texaco. I always take my car there for routine maintenance, e.g. oil change, inspection, etc. They are friendly and offer reasonable advice about the maintenance of your car. They are fair with their prices. I was weary about finding a reliable mechanic, especially after my car started acting up post-fender bender. This place was semi-close to where I lived so I took a chance and called them up. Since it was nearly un-driveable, they picked up my car for me! And it was fixed in no time. The staff there have always been really courteous. The wait times are kind of long, but that's probably because they have so much business. Great auto repair shop, imo, and I'm so glad I found them. I will never go anywhere else. read more

My car's battery died and I was lucky enough to be a block away from Ken's Texaco. Joseph drove to my car and gave me a jump start so I could make it to the shop. Within 45 minutes they had replaced my battery and I was on my way. The battery came with an 18 month warranty. They didn't charge me for the service call and the total ended up being under $150. Courteous but Dangerous. My wife and I have used Ken's for the several years. We took the family Ford truck for a oil change, and rotation of tires in April 2013. They replaced the front and rear wheel studs and lug nuts. During a trip to Kerrville, on IH-10 the week of the repair, the family heard what sounded like firecrackers. On inspection in Kerrville, some the lug nuts had shot off, an the others where dangerously loose on the studs on all 4 tires. Ken's(Randal) apologized. Again,I presented the truck in December of 2014, for similar maintenance. Two weeks later, returning to San Antonio from the holidays, I felt a ominous truck vibration as I drove the truck on the Interstate. The following day I had a mechanic from Don Williams Transmission Auto & Exhaust, pick up the truck at home. He drove one block before the front right tire completely locked. He texted:" There was only one lug nut holding. Thank God." The lugs were again loose, this time causing damage to the wheel and hub. Also noted by Discount Tire (where I purchased the new wheel) and not mentioned by Ken's was the 'very bad alignment wear" of rear tires in the inside treads. My family and I are very fortunate to be alive. I would suggest that you use Ken's only for simple things,like routine maintenance checks, gas, oil changes. Best wishes read more

I just took my car to Ken's Texaco because it had been occasionally leaking a fluid and I wasn't sure exactly what was leaking. They pulled my car in immediately, and after 20 minutes they figured out it was a very minor issue with no parts needed. They did not try to charge me for something that was not necessary. While I waited (the very brief time) I saw how fast and courteous they were with other customers pulling in for their full service offerings. HIGHLY recommend them. Very rare to find this level of customer service and integrity anymore. Go there, trust me. read more

I went here because my door latch was broken and my door wouldn't open. When I told the mechanic all he did was pull on the door and handle(which wouldn't open of course) and decided that the problem was the motor in the door. He charged me over $200 and made me wait for five hours before they finally called and said that it was the door latch and he needed another $100 dollars. We said forget it and when we picked it up they didn't even clean off the grease marks they made of over the inside of the doors and window. AND MY DOOR STILL DIDN'T OPEN! We called again to have them fix the botched job and they said they were going to charge $50 JUST TO OPEN THE DOOR TO LOOK AT IT! DO NOT go to this place unless you want to be ripped off by half-ass mechanics. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! read more
