I've been here twice, only for an inspection sticker. They have been friendly and quick take care of me both times. I know to ask upfront how long it will take and how much it will be, otherwise it could be more than an hour wait for an inspection sticker. I don't fall for the up sell... they always try. The door jam of my car was very dirty the last time I had my inspection sticker done. Not a huge deal except for that my door jams have material on them. It just looks like the tech drug his greasy foot across the jam. I'm hoping it will come out. This place is close to home and convenient for just needing an inspection sticker... otherwise I'm not sure I'd go back. read more

I brought my vehicle in for a patch. After 3 hours of waiting I called and they said the nail was too close to the sidewall to patch and will require a new tire. Secondly since the car was all wheel drive all 4 tires needed to be replaced or risk damage to the differential. I picked up the car and took it to Discount Tire. Not only was the nail not too close to the sidewall to patch but I also learned that the tires only have a few thousand miles that all 4 would not need to be replaced. I was also informed of the option to shave a replacement tire to match the used tires for future reference. Discount also did not charge for the patch. Needless to say I will not return to Firestone. read more

I don't know why this place gets such a bad rap. I've been here several times and have always had good experiences. The price may be a bit higher than a mom & pop shop, but that's why you have the internet and a cell phone folks. Don't pay full price...look up coupons before you go and bring them in with you. They'll honor them and then their prices become competitive. Every service I've needed I've found a coupon and gotten the price to an acceptable place. Their waiting room is comfortable enough with a TV and magazines and coffee...you will probably have to wait awhile. They've got a lot of workers but a lot of business so I've had to wait a couple of hours each time. No big deal. Don't go get your car serviced if you're in a rush! I've gotten my inspection here. I've gotten my brakes serviced here. I get my oil changed here. I've gotten my battery replaced here. All totally above average services. Talk to Jerry or the other older gentleman at the front...they're both great and super helpful. They were honest with the situation with my tires and I didn't feel pressured into buying all four when I really only needed two. I wish they had towing/jump service because in order to get my car to them this morning I had to call some random tow company for that. I'm fine paying a few bucks extra for the average service because they've got all my service records there at any Firestone I go to...super convenient. read more

Several weeks ago i was unable to start my vehicle so i purchased a batterym. The vehicle started fine on day 1 and on day 2 would not crank. My brother-in-law replaced the starter. That day it cranked well, but next day would not start. We knew at this point that only alternator remained. I was in no hurry to spend several hundered dollars for an alternator repair and with Covid i didnt really need a car. Took my car on Saturday Mayb30, 2020 and we spoke and based on the fact we could jump it and everything else was new we both said "alternator". An hour later the tests indicated it was actually the battery. I went back to autozone and swapped out my 3 week old battery and have had no problems in several days. We all hear the horror stories of unnecessary work and honestly you all could have gotten away with an unnecessary alternator replacement. Thank you for your honesty and professionalism! I would give a one star if I could. These people are so rude and unprofessional. I will never go back here nor recommend it to ANYONE, not even my worst enemy. I don't even know where to begin with this joke of a place. Lets start with how OUT FRONT of their BUILDING it says "free battery check" so, my boyfriend goes in and ask them to check it for him. He was told it would be $30 .... why would it cost when your sign says FREE??? Anyway, he needed it done, so he agreed. These clearly unqualified mechanics come back and tell him he HAS to BUY a new battery, for them to continue to do any checking of his car.... why? He just wanted a scan of his battery... and now he's being told he will have a total of not $0... not $30.. but $200!!!! SHOOK. He tells them he unfortunately cannot afford that at the moment, so he declines and they tell him "okay we will pull your car up", they do, and they leave the key and tell him he's good. So he did what EVERYONE ELSE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND would do, and went to get his car and left. As he is driving, he gets 5 MISSED CALLS. 5. From these unprofessional, disgrace of an autoshop and they are THREATENING him with calling the cops. Saying he has "stolen their parts and committed theft of services, and they have his address and will send the cops to him if he doesn't call back by lunch"... He calls back, speaks to the presumed " manager " and says "Why are you threatening me if you guys didn't even do any services to my car, and pulled it up for me to leave.." the manager says, sarcastically if i may add, "oh.. you know what, you're right.. let's just call it "water under the bridge". THIS HAS TO BE A JOKE. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT AN AUTOSHOP. THEY SHOULD BE REPORTED FOR HARASSMENT AS WELL AS TO THE BBB FOR FALSE ADVERTISING. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE. My wife had a flat tire so she rushed there after 6 pm. Due to the tire life and they were definitely in need of replacement, Brandon recommended new tires. He was able to get 2 tires from another shop with 2 in stock. They stayed late to put the new 4 tires. Firestone was not pushy at all. They strictly had a friendly recommendation that was the correct one. Great friendly service and definitely appreciate the extra time they stayed. read more

I should've read the reviews first. If I had, I would've never gone to this Firestone on 1330 W McDermott (near Alma Dr). My wife needed a tire alignment (or so we thought). $99? no problem. After taking our car in for alignment we were told that we'd need a new tire and that the old tire was causing the problem (not the alignment). When we went to pick up our vehicle they charged us for both the alignment and new tire ($260 total). They also suggested that if the problem persists, then the problem could be mechanical and that we should consider taking our car to our dealership's mechanic. WTF. We should've seen the salami coming with this setup. My wife brought the car home and the next day I drove it to the store and noticed we were having the same problem. Yep, so we took our car to the dealership and they pointed out that the tire had NEVER been replaced (see the picture attached). That's right ladies and gentlemen. These Firestone crooks deceived us and stole from us. Ironically, the manager's name is Christian. During pickup, I argued with this guy once I learned that they were charging us for a new tire AND an alignment. They lied and deflected but what was most deceptive was when they asked if I wanted them to do the work for free (implying that I was trying to take something from them), when all the while, that had already stolen from us. These are Narcissistic predators. Just read their reviews. Don't waste your time and/or money. In this age COVID where small businesses and franchises are falling left and right. I've been taking my car to this shop for over a year. Took my car in for a routine oil change and got a call. Seems my car needed over $1200 in repair. One of the repair items was that the coolant was low. Please add coolant as part of my oil change like all of the other service shops do, I said. We don't do that, they told me. We can only flush and pressure test the coolant system for $260 bucks. Well guess what? I went and bought coolant and added it myself and it has been full ever since. The other suggested repairs were not valid either. I don't know if they have new management or what, but a once trusted shop is no longer honest, in my opinion. read more

I came in for a new tire and oil change, leave, staff was friendly, asked me to take a survey (which was annoying but I did), and everything seemed fine. Brought the car in a few months later for the SECOND time due to a loud squeaking noise and was told that the last time I was there, the techs put the wrong size tire on my car (I have staggered figment. You think an auto/tire shop would know that!), which was causing the loud noise. My 3rd time, today, I came in and asked them to top off my fluid (which I'm pretty sure they DID NOT do when my oil was changed), and they told me they weren't able to do it. Ridiculous. So I went to this store and felt like I was treated differently because I'm a woman. The first time I went to get tires changed in December and I was told they didn't know how to reset my TPMS so I needed to go to a Honda dealership because they needed to do something special. Wrong all they did was calibrate my car which is done on the console. This past week I made an appointment because my TPMS kept going off after airing my tires. I thought why not give them another chance. Big mistake. I ran over something days ago so I had concerns. The gentleman that helped me touched my back two tires and said they were just low. I knew that but why was the reason and I needed to know. He had me thinking I was being paranoid and only needed more air. Wrong. I thought he doesn't want my money so I would try another location. Three days later I went at the Firestone off W 15th street and they actually put my car in the garage. They found both my back tires needed replacement and one had a nail in it. Go to the W.15th Street location in Plano. I will only return to the W.15th Street Plano location and have them do other services to my vehicle for going above and beyond. read more

They told me that I had a nail in the tire to close to the side wall to repair and that I needed to buy a new tire. I told them that since they don't sell Michelins, and I wanted my tires to match, so I would get it somewhere else. So I went to Costco today to get a new tire. This place is awful. I have tried them numerous times because they are so convenient, but they disappoint every time. Their brake jobs are horrific. I've had two vehicles in there where the OEM pads lasted over 50,000. Their crap lasted half that. Sure they "warrant" them for "life" but it's parts only. And they turn the rotors so much that they have to replace those too. Awful customer service. Go down the street to Bumper To Bumper. read more

Came in on a slow afternoon for a routine oil change and mentioned my tires, still under warranty, were looking low. I waited over an hour and a half before he mentioned anything about my tire and simply said, they're fixing it. Last time I came in, they switched me over to high mileage unnecessarily, charging me close to $70. This recent trip, there was a "sale special" going on for $34.99. I was charged over $55 without much explanation as to where the extra $20 went. He also tried to sell me flushes that were on sale saying emphatically that my car was "WAYYYYY PAST DUE!" I did not appreciate this facility disregarding my time and trying to sell me unnecessary items that I know I do not need at this time. I won't be returning to this location. read more

Be aware, especially if you are female, this shop is overcharging for repairs. The staff is rude. I was traveling on business and my wife called - her car window went off track. Having had this happen before I told her it would probably need a replacement window regulator and sent her to this shop to have the work performed. She called me the next day to say they wanted over $600 to do the job. This included over $300 for a $110 part, a $65 diagnostic fee, and $195 for labor. I called Firestone and after a briefing on the costs I challenged the $65 "diagnostic fee". After a brief debate with Jeremy on the validity of the $65 diagnostic fee and inflated part cost he abruptly stated he would halt the job, my wife could come and pick up the vehicle. I called my wife to explain their position and to retrieve her car. Jeremy called back 5 minutes later to state the diagnostic fee must be paid. I told him he would need to wait until I returned to discuss the matter. I inquired about the status of the window and what they would do to protect it from rain in the interim. His response was the window might be up, or down, and not necessarily protected from rain if there was not room to pull the vehicle inside the shop. We debated the $65 fee again....I challenged the validity of this fee, explaining I had already decided what work was to be performed. Jeremy countered with my wife already authorized the fee, and if her signature was not authorized on my behalf he would call the police. Yes, true story. So I'm out $65 for placing my trust in Firestone to take care of my wife. Well, BYE BYE FIRESTONE! Thanks for lightening my wallet along with my trust. Women, don't expect to be cared for....expect to be cheated. UPDATE: My disatisfaction with Firestone's lack of integrity deepens. I returned home and investigated the problem with the window on my wife's Trooper. I discovered the window regulator works perfectly. The clips holding the window glass had failed. I purchased the parts necessary to make the repairs for $18.50. I paid $65.00 for a completely *dishonest* diagnosis that would have resulted in a $600.00+ repair that wasn't necessary. read more

Recently my 16 year old airport truck failed inspection due to a bad tire. I took it to my local firestone store on Stacy in Allen I me John. John reviewed my situation and we discussed moving my unused spare to the ground to allow the truck to pass the inspection. John proceeded with the project and reported to me after removing the tires that the spare was unusable due to age and two of my other tires were close to failing as well (I had one good one which had been replaced due to a flat earlier)! John went about the process to identify replacement tires knowing that I was under money constraints. He was able to locate replacement tires and we proceeded with the replacement of all four tires and moved my good tire to my spare and complete my lifetime alignment. Up on picking up my completed job and paying I left only to observe that John had not only completed the job in spite of my indecision BUT also included additional significant discounts to the price of the repair! My husband was quoted "$451.00 out the door", went back and price changed to $510.00 due to tax. I asked Associate were did he get the $510 and he said it was due to sales tax. I asked him how did he get $510. if the tax rate is 8.25. The associate did not answer my question; however he did say if I don't like it he can take starter out on my car. I told him no because my husband needed to get to work, also I was scare that they would damage my car, in retaliation. I really felt BULLIED by the guy. I had new tires put on and forgot to tell them that I wanted the white lettering facing outward, so I called the next day and spoke to Billy, I asked if there was any way I could be given a discount in order to not have to pay full price again in order to have the tires remounted. I took my Vehicle in for Oil change and inspection. They said i had a Valve cover leak so my wife said fix it. I got my car back drove it and the timing was bad, took it back they had it for 2 more days then called me and told me to come and get it. When i got there it was gong to be $3,000 or more to fix it. They caused the problem and Ruined my engine. my wife said her dad was a mechanic and they caused the problem. The Manager Told me to leave said i was Yelling, "i was not yelling" i was upset for a problem they caused, they called the police. The police had a smile on there face when i told them what happend knowing i didnt yell or Swear. STAY AWAY you might go to jail if you take your car there, FACT. P.S. I had them fix my Brakes they didnt bleed them, i almost hit a Telepole, it was good i knew to pump them fast or i would have hit the pole. read more

This place is really good place to have work done on your car. The only reason I have not given them a 4 or 5 star review is (fortunately) I have yet to need any major repair work done. I find their pricing fair and market competitive compared to surrounding competitors. The folks that work there have always been welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. So far, all work don on my car was done right the first time. If you need any work from an oil change up, I would definitely give them a shot. I think you will not be disappointed. read more

Went in for a simple alignment. Sales associates are very kind. The technicians on the other hand, terrible work. I went in to get my alignment and my car did not pull at all when I went in, they get done and I drove away and it pulls VERY hard now. On the spec sheet only 1 thing is in spec and not a single thing else is. They somehow managed to make my alignment worse. The one thing they got into spec was the toe. Everything else wasn't even touched. I didn't pay full price for an alignment to get a half assed job. Highly recommend staying as far away as possible from this location. read more

We had large amount of services at McKinney location in March 2017, that included 4 tires, rods, alignment, brakes, all fluids. 9-15-17 (6mo later) I had a tire consistently loosing air and made appointment at the location we usually had frequented. When salesman called to discuss car assessment, he stated we needed 2 new tires and they weren't covered because we didn't have car alignment done in March. I told the salesman to patch the tire and I would go elsewhere for new tires because I knew I had payed for the required service and the tires should not be wearing out at 6 mo. As I was stewing over all the new costs involved, I called back and was able to speak with the store manager, Billy. Billy looked farther into our last service and determined the parts we paid for in March were on the car, but the work, like the alignment, was not done or done inadequately. The end result was good that the work that was previously not done, was made right and the two tires and their warranties were replaced for free. read more

The services are always slow whether it's for an oil change, inspection, or tires. Charged $50 to do a diagnostic test to tell me I needed a new thermostat which is what I told them the problem was when I came in. Then tried to charge me $240 to install a new one and $100 to flush and replace my coolant. This is more than 3 times what this service should cost. The part is $15 at auto zone and should take a skilled mechanic less than half an hour to install. I understand paying for convenience, but this is borderline criminal. I am getting my fixed elsewhere for less than $100. So, I wasted $50 and a lot of time. Don't waste yours. read more

I'd like to warn current and future customers about this location and Firestone in general. This branch wasn't even able to perform an oil chance correctly. All the oil from my 4Runner poured out since the oil filter wasn't installed correctly rendering the engine useless. This is pure incompetence. Initially this Firestone branch and corporate office pretended want to help. All lies. I had been a Firestone customer for over five years and they had the audacity of racking up the bill to over $1,700 and didn't step up to admit their mistake and pay for this. Absolutely disgusting and immoral. They stuck me with bill and my 4Runner is now worthless. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY THEY TRULY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. If there was less than a 1 star, that's what I'd give them. I keep telling myself "maybe this was just an off day or a mistake or not normal for them." And I convince myself to go back. And I'm always furious when I leave. I decided to get a second quote when, after a simple oil change, they came back and told me I needed $1400 of work done or my truck would be ruined. I took the truck to a trusted mechanic my dad has gone to for 20 years and they did everything Firestone mentioned plus a few other things for $400!!!! So the next time I went in I did some research for a fog light assembly I needed replaced. The parts totaled $65 so I figured $100 would be a reasonable price. They quoted me $600!!!! These guys are crooks and they will never just do what you asked done, they always come back and say there's all these things wrong. Don't go here. Anywhere else is better. I have a diesel engine that holds 15 quarts of oil. Because the engine is large, and not all the oil drains out, I ask techs to not put more than 13-14 quarts in. That way I can check it and "top it off" if needed. My DH took our vehicle in for an oil change and he took 2- 2 1/2 gallon containers of Rotella T6 for them to use because the store was out of 1 gallon containers. OMG. I panicked when I saw the one container he brought home. It had barely 2 quarts in it!!! So he took with him 20 quarts and brought back 2!! OMG!! They had put something like 17-18 quarts of oil in!!! I told him to not even start it and to get a pan. I took a video of him draining out the oil. Drain--check the dipstick. Drain--check the dipstick. I couldn't believe someone would us so much oil. I called and asked "what were you thinking?!" The manager said my dipstick handle was damaged and therefore made it difficult to know how much to put in. I told him the owner's manual would have been a good starting point if they didn't know the maximum to put in. I did go there again--to drop off all that oil that had to be disposed. read more

My intentions were to get a state inspection for my car. I walked in and there was a gentleman in front of me. Lord knows how long he's been waiting but it took about 15 minutes till someone saw him. There's now one guy behind me. After the gentleman in front of me leaves he asks if anyone is picking up. I told him I needed an inspection and he said I don't know if we have time for that I have to ask the service manager and proceeded with the next customer BEHIND me. After 10 minutes of simply giving the customers keys back which he could've done quicker had he known where they were then he decides to ask the service manager if we can take a car for a state inspection. Immediately the service manager says no. That took what.. All one second??? I basically stood in line for 30 minutes just for a no. It's pretty simple everyone. If they service their customers this careless, what more about your cars when you're not there? This would've been my first time trying out this Firestone down the street, but I'll never be coming back. read more

Went there for a simple starter but it became a nightmare and they tried to overcharge me and the starter they finally put in after 4 days work all of 1 day then they tried to say it's not the starter but my car. I had two separate mechanics look at my car and confirm it was their starter. Since I took it to the dealer my car is great and they in writing state it was Firestone screw up. I have had problems with this location in the past but wanted to give them another shot. That was a mistake! They try to oversell everything and at a huge markup from places like Discount Tire. Today I went to get an oil change and tire rotation (warranty item). I called at 10:50 to check on timeframe. They told me an hour. I dropped my car off at 11. I called at 12:30 and they said probably at least another hour. They called me at 1 to ask where the lock for my wheels were. They were JUST starting work on my car. The glovebox was locked and they only have the valet key. So now I will have to go elsewhere to get the tires rotated because there is no way I will ever go back there regardless of location! read more

NEVER NEVER take your car here for any reason....My sister took her car here for a engine light diagnostic and they told her it was spark plug or maybe spark plug wire. Also they suggested a anti freeze flush. She did all they suggested and when they returned the car the car stopped on her overheated and had to be towed back to them. (How did we go from an engine light for a spark plug to the car being towed and now claiming 3000.00 more cause the car is overheating which all stemmed from a suggested coolant flush.) this place will destroy your car. read more
