Waited in line at another location for 30 plus minutes and nothing moved. Can to another one waiting another 30. Finally got to the bay and they said they had to move me back to let someone else in front who's been there longer. Never go here for a "quick" oil change. 15 min has turned into 2 hours now. read more

Integrity of the store is questionable. Volvoline, Allen, TX My wife went for the state inspection and requested the associate to do the inspection first and do oil change upon completion of inspection. She clearly told them not to do oil change without completing the inspection, because she wanted to make sure that both the works are done in one shot and she does not have to make additional trip to another store. The associate mislead my wife and did the oil change without having done the inspection and asked her to make another appointment for the inspection because the inspection equipment was not working. Looked like the shop was more interested in making money by doing oil and air filter changes instead caring customer convenience and instructions. We have 3 cars and store would probably not get any business from us. read more

My car failed the inspection so I took it to my mechanic he changed a sensor. If I bring my car back within 30 days they would do a inspection no charge. Mind you I have been going back all this month (Dec) they always say the machine is down so today I called before I went told the machine was working I live 7 minutes away by the time I got there Manager came and told me the machine was down talk about pissed off so now I am trying to see if the one in Mckinney will do it for free of charge. Allen valvoline need to get it together!!! I read other people review they had the same problem. Why not just get a new machine? So my advice DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR INSPECTION!!! read more

This is the 2nd year in a row they could not do my vehicle inspection. Last year the excuse was the guy who does it wasn't there for about a week. This year on 5/9/2025 the equipment was down. How can you advertise inspections if you can't do them? It is a waste of time and I have been going there for years to get my vehicle's oil changes done twice a year spending over $100 each time. It is frustrating that I have to go somewhere else or wait at least a week to get the inspection done here if they fix the equipment in the week they said it should be fixed. If you want an oil change, then they are pretty good at that, but inspections, I wouldn't waste my time. read more

I just tried to get an emissions test and an oil change this morning and I'm totally appalled with what I encountered. First, I'm the only customer there and I'm told by the guy that says he's the only one certified that they don't do emission testing until after 1:30. I told him that I would just get the oil change. After someone pounding on the undercarriage of my 2024 Honda CRV for about 15 minutes, they tell me they don't know how to remove the skid in order to access my oil pan and filter. So, let me get this right, they're in the business of doing emission testing and oil changes yet they can't and won't do them. I will certainly be sharing this horrific experience with the world. They suggested I get a transmission oil changed also I took their recommendation what they did not tell me is it would take them an hour to complete everything and it seemed like they were arguing for 20 minutes on what exactly to do for my vehicle while leaving me in my truck to sweat they did not even offer a drink or nothing read more

This place was quick and provided a great service to me. I had my oil changed, car lubed and inspection done. The personalities there are pretty awesome; they have a niche and they are good at it. I like that fact that I can sit in my car while its services and take care of phone calls or whatever I need to do. Because I was getting the inspection, they had to run a cable to the diagnostic portal on the drivers side, so I had to deal with noise for for most of my visit. I had a small issue with oil leaking, or so I thought, it turned out to be spilled oil that leaked on my garage floor. I didn't love that I have a stain on my garage floor now, but it is what it is. It appears when they filled the oil, a little missed... When i called and let them know I had a leak (so i thought), they were quick to reply and seemed concerned. I would recommend them and will be back for my oil changes at this location when needed. Overall I'm happy with the service, the good attitudes and amount of care they showed toward me and my vehicle. read more

Oh my! I came in for an oil change and inspection was told 20 minute turn around. I sat here for 45 minutes. Uneducated staff. They blamed under staffed but 6 men were here. One totally incompetent. I will NEVER return to this location again. Horrible experience. Note: michael was the only employee who was kind and spoke directly to owners of cars. Lame. I went in on a Wednesday afternoon. Two cars in there and about 6 employees. They have two "entrances" that go nowhere. I walked into one and I was standing in the garage. Nobody acknowledged me. I walked around the building and entered the other entrance and it was a small empty room. Nobody helped me so I left. Update after response: Nobody guided me anywhere. So a person standing in the garage doesn't need to be addressed? There are many parking spaces so that's what I did, I parked my car in your parking spaces which there was no information or person to tell me to drive into a queue. read more

Routine oil changed rushed and other checks were overlooked but said to be "Checked-OK." My vehicle had basically no coolant in it... I took the vehicle to a repairman this week to be told there is no crack and no reason for there to be virtually no coolant. Poor, dangerous service. read more

Stay away from them like the plague! They drained the oil from my car and did not replace it. Got down the road and my car started smoking! I've had to file a whole complaint with corporate and now I have to get an attorney all over their incompetence! They can't even do a simple oil change! They destroyed my car. read more

I have been here at Valvoline before to get my car inspected. The guys always are respectful. Rasi did my inspection. Very pleasant to work with. The cost of the inspection is what I expected. I like that I don't have to get out my vehicle when the inspection is done. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I've been coming here for years, and am horribly disappointed with the current staff. I came in 30 minutes before closing (4:30pm) on Sunday and was immediately told before pulling into the bay "We're out of oil filters for Nissans. We get our shipment tomorrow," and they gave me their operating hours for the next day (with very little empathy). I was bummed since I'm extremely busy and this is the only time I had available, but was content to let it go and find another time to come back-- until they proceeded to go back to the rest of the techs and say something, at which they all laughed and glanced over toward me. I'm an extremely patient person, but this made my blood boil. So here we go. First: I'm not an idiot. At no point did they confirm the year or model of my vehicle, and I (coming from a technical background myself) can tell you that even the most astute technician should still double-check to make sure they have the right size/thread for the model of the vehicle they're working with. Since that wasn't done, that means you're either lazy or lying-- both of which are a bit unfitting for your job. Second: If they DID lie (which I strongly suspect is the case), at least be respectful enough to just tell me you don't want to work on a car that close to closing, instead of insulting my intelligence and assuming I wouldn't notice the snide remarks. I'm sick of technicians assuming I don't know anything because I'm a woman, and after combing through the other reviews it doesn't seem like this is the first time it's happened. Its not hard to be respectful. Do better. Finally: after they saw me off, they all promptly moved into the parking lot to smoke, chat, and hit up the smoke shop next door before the bay was closed. Considering they couldn't wait the extra 29 minutes until the store closed to run their personal errands, I assume they don't foster a terribly good work ethic. I have always come to this location for my oil change services, and am sad to say that I will be hard-pressed to return. TL;DR: Came in close to closing, told "no more Nissan filters" without tech confirming year/model, tech likely lied to get out of doing an oil change close to closing time. I can accept it if you just don't want to do this service this late in the day, but don't insult me by lying to my face to get out of doing the work so you can hit up the smoke shop and chat with your buddies until close. read more

Update 9/23/22 - I received a phone call from Don the area manager who contacted me personally today. He apologized and expressed his understanding for my time wasted. I believe an apology goes a long way and am updating my review because of Don reaching out. Thank you Don! Went to get an inspection and oil change. Waited to be helped when told I needed to get my oil change done first then moved from the inspection lane to the oil change lane. Waited to be helped in the oil change lane to be told they can not do my oil change due to not having the oil for my vehicle because the shipment did not come in on Friday. Was told to go park and wait for my inspection. Waited for someone to come do my inspection once they had me turn my headlights on/off, blinkers, and breaks they said they were going to take my truck around the parking lot to test brakes. They did so and pulled it into the inspection bay. After I waited again I was approached to be told my OBD port did not work and therefore was not able to pass inspection. When I took my vehicle to AutoZone to have my codes checked my OBD port did in fact work and was in working condition. I do not recommend wasting your time with this place. read more

Why do I keep going back? The last time I stopped going was because they said they couldn't rotate my tires (on an F150) because their lift wasn't strong enough. This time, I just wanted a vehicle inspection. Pulled up, they said it would be 30 minutes. I figured, NBD, I can wait. They forgot about me. After an hour I left. They watched me leave and didn't give a rat's rear. Oh well, now I remember why I don't go here any more. read more

I like this place. They are very good at what they advertise, which is quick oil changes without unneeded upgrades being recommended. I have 3 cars that I bring here including my 1991 Toyota with 255k miles. They always treat me and my cars well and get me in and out. They did lose a star from me due to the fact that their inspection services are a bit of a joke. I went 4 times before someone was actually there who was able to do an inspection. I'll still use them for my oil changes as they are friendly, quick and get the job done professionally. As for inspections or other services, I'll probably go elsewhere. read more

Stopped to get oil changed in my MB ML-350. Guy told me to pull in behind truck in lane 1. One car was waiting in middle lane and no one was in thired lane. Said it would be about 10 minutes. About 10 minutes later a car pulled into third lane and waited to pull into the shop. About five minutes later the car in the third lane pulled into the shop for their oil change and I'm still waiting in lane 1! Waited couple more minutes and decided to go to Five Minute oil change on Main. No waiting there, but they made up for that with slow service and high prices! Cannot recommend either place! read more

The people at valvoline wee very kind and efficient. I don't usually take my car for oil changes, but they walked me thru and did a very good job. Explained what she get were doing, reset my maintenance lite, changed my interior filter. No upsell or pressure. read more

It's hard for me to write this review because the men here were all nice and friendly. They had exceptional customer service! The only thing was... the service itself wasn't exceptional. Let me explain. I came in on a Saturday a couple of hours before closing. I needed an oil change and had a $15 discount coupon to use. The service was quick and painless. I paid and went on my way. Come Tuesday, my manager calls me after work and ask me if my car was leaking oil. She noticed quite amounts of oil in my parking spot after I left. I had my boyfriend check on it when he got home that night and behold, my car was leaking oil. So the next day, I decided to go back to Valvoline before work in the morning so they can plug or screw whatever it was that was causing my oil to leak. Again, their service was quick and they even topped off my oil after that. No charge for fixing the leak. I guess something wasn't screwed in all the way. I drive off and before making a u-turn I hear the plate or splash guard underneath my car drop. Part of it was hanging at the bottom of my car and would rub off on the road when I drove. So I u-turned back to Valvoline so they can screw the splash guard back in place. They screw it up and an employee explains to me the screws that came with the car wasn't going in all the way but stated I should be fine now. I left and made my way to work. Two miles from the shop and my splash guard underneath falls again. I had to drive 2 miles at 20-30 mph to make sure there would be no further damage. My splash guard was scraping the road the entire time back. It was almost like nails on a chalkboard, well not that high pitched. Anyways, I made it back to Valvoline and asked them to please fix it and make sure it's screwed in all the way. The end result, they zip tied my splash guard to my car and called it a day. I'm sure they HAD to zip tie my guard in place because by now, it was damaged beyond repair to where they can't even screw anything in. I had this new car for 2 months and now my splash guard is damaged. They can't say anything about the screws because my car was fine before and nothing was falling apart when I bought the car. So, I drove it to my dealership, all the while missing work by the way, and they inspect my car. The GM went out there (I know him) to take look. He told me it looked like they didn't know how to unscrew the plate and just kinda tore it off. They gave me an estimate and ordered me a new one. I am now $140 out of pocket. We contacted customer service and the franchise owner himself contacted us and told us we would get our money for the new part reimbursed. I mean, I would hope so considering they couldn't figure out how to screw it back in place. He is still hoping for my business but after that nightmare, I'm done. Never again Valvoline. Any location, never again. That $15 discount coupon was NOT worth it. Also, missing work for over 5 hours was SO not worth it. The franchise manager did inform me they would be under new management so good luck to them. And good luck to anyone who goes here! Went here for a state inspection and had a 40 minute wait. Not a huge deal but when I got the inspection done on my diesel truck they didn't even do a thorough inspection and cover all the points they should have. They didn't look at the reverse lights. Then they had me pull in B3 and I sat there for another 20 minutes while they were scratching their heads realizing they were out of toner ink. They said I would have to come back in a day or two to get my pass paperwork. They took forever to give me my debit card and left it on the counter for all the employees to see if they walked by. I am trying to get my truck title today and I just wasted a ton of time so I ended up having to go down the street and get an inspection done so I can go title my truck today. This place is complete BS and run by amateurs. Definitely would not recommend bringing your vehicles here read more

It's like new! Fresh new and young faces, positive and upbeat. The service was Great, fast and provided friendly customer service, I was able to sit in my car while getting my oil changed. Oil and air filter changed and of course they checked everything they're suppose to; lights, etc. The only down fall is due to COVID they're not allowed to check or replace the cabin filters which means I have to go somewhere else for that but DEFINITELY will return. read more

This review is hyper specific, so please take it with a grain of salt. I tried to get my car inspected on a Saturday morning but was turned away because of "the chance of rain". Now, yes I completely understand that there is a break test included where the tech has to drive up to 30mph and then stop. So I totally get why you can't do that when the ground is soaked. But that wasn't the case here. I arrived around 10:20am and there where're a few drops of rain on my car windshield. That was the indication that rain was coming for this young lady. The radar told me there's a 10% chance of rain, and in about an hour there should be sun. But since there were some rain drops on my windshield, I was turned away. It was a complete lack of customer service, instead of asking me to wait a few minutes, to see if it'll clear up, and then take me in, I was turned away. With, might I add, a pretty smug look on the techs face when I asked "are we sure it's going to rain?" Like I said, this is a one time experience, and I only wanted 1 thing. I have no clue how fast they are, how good the service is on vehicles or anything like that. But they lost a customer by not even trying. I drove down to Midas a few miles down the road, got my car inspected and was treated with respect. The entire time I was there, not a drop of rain. read more

I would avoid this place at all costs, as the people who work here are highly incompetent and persistently give incorrect information. I am in need of a car inspection and called ahead of time to ensure they do inspections at this location and no appointment is needed. The representative confirmed that they do and I could drive by any time. Two hours later at 11am, I arrive, only to be told that the guy who does the inspections is not here today but will be here from 11-7 tomorrow (Saturday). I just arrived at 4:30pm on Saturday and was told the inspection guy left already at 4. I asked to speak with the manager, who confirmed that the inspection guy is gone, and proceeds to not take any responsibility for anything his staff has said, insisting that he wasn't the one who gave me that information. This place is a huge waste of time. If they cannot even get this basic information correctly, I would absolutely not trust them with an oil change either! read more

I have done business with Valvoline here in Allen since they opened but I will not return to get any of my vehicles inspected. The service has declined rapidly. I pulled in today and was asked to wait in the side parking because there was a vehicle in front of me. I was told it would be 15 minutes. I waited 30 minutes and watched the tech walk around the shop and in and out of the bay. I would have waited if he had a come by and said there was a problem and it would be a little longer. There were 3 other vehicles that pulled in after I was asked to wait I. the side parking lot. I left and will not return. There are other places in Allen to get inspections and oil changes. read more

I just moved here from CA (Trump 2020) and service in TX far surpasses service in CA and Valvoline was no exception. As I was pulling in an employee rushed out to greet me and asked how he can help. I told him I needed a vehicle inspection and he directed me to the correct line. There were 2 cars ahead and he informed me it would about a 20 minute wait, which was accurate. The employee who performed our inspection was very friendly, informative and polite. I usually change my own oil but will most likely stop here in the future due the great service. read more
