Made an appointment to have 1 tire replaced... scheduled it for 9am. My wife arrived at 8:48am. Van went up on lift almost immediately. 30 minutes later she was asked for repairs/service to other parts of the vehicle not related to tire replacement. She politely said "no thank you." Car was ready at 10:56am... that is 2 hours!!! And it went up on the lift right away! Maybe next time I should offer to pay an extra couple hundred dollars for service I did not ask for... maybe it would have been faster! To be fair... they are busy, denying walk-ins service today... but I had an appointment, and if they are so busy, why go over my entire car when I came in for a single tire? Probably not going to return here... ever! read more

Leave it to me to try and get an oil change and a tire looked at on Christmas eve. I took it here because it was close by. They didn't want to do the oil change and said the tire had a staple in it which could not be fixed. I am very disappointed with my visit to Firestone. When I came in I had two coupons for car care and air filter. I asked them to check the cord that was hanging behind the front grill and but they refused to do it because somehow "it's a part of a body part" they told me. That's fine I thought and did it myself later that day without even touching any of the body part. After they completed my car care and AC check the total repair came out to almost 2000$. Apparently, they said I need a new A/C compressor. Well I just wish they explained to me the whole situation and my options there before I would have to pay 1700$ for a new compressor. Also they said that I had to get a new tire. Again, options of tire and their prices were not explained to me. I tried to show them that there are all this different coupons on tires and they didn't even look at it. The sales guy said that it's a matter of safety that I get this new tire and then I looked at the mechanic report sheet and it said that new tire is "recommended" but not "urgent" or "required" to get. That made me very suspicious and I decided not to get any service done and just pay for for those check ups and leave. Lastly, I had two coupons that said care pavane and Ac check will be both 10$. When I was signing papers in the beginning the total was almost 70$. I double checked with the customer service guy that he got my two coupons that I printed out. He said yes and the price would change in the end when the service is done and I pay for it. So after the service was done and when I was about to swipe my car, I see that the total is still 70$!!! Immediately I brought it up once again that I have two coupons printed out that I have to them and they did not use it. It turned out that customer service guy forgot to include it (after I told him 2 times). As a conclusion, Firestone has completely lost my trust in their service. I had a credit card with them but I think I am going to go ahead and cancel it because I don't want to ever go through that dramatic experience again. read more

On the spur of the moment without an appointment, I went to this Firestone and asked Jason to check my two rear tires to see if either or both needed replacement. Jason came right out to my vehicle, checked and told me they were half worn and did not need replacement right now. I really really appreciated his honesty and integrity and the fact that he did not attempt to sell me something I didn't immediately need. If only I could rate ZERO stars!! The ZERO would be a rating of their integrity. I cant not believe the kind of people that this place has working for them. My boyfriend took his truck in to get all new tires only to have multiple things stolen out of the truck by their employees. One in which was a PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION. When I called to address the situation, they blew me off saying that they trust their employees and that's why they do not have cameras. OR maybe its so you can make sure there is no proof behind the allegations. I can not believe it!! **Now there will be someone working there that is UNDER THE INFLUENCE of prescription medication while they are working on YOUR car!! ** But hey you sign a paper saying they are not liable for property. So if you are planing on doing service with this location, I would say NOO!! RUN!! or you better make sure you take everything out that could possibly be of any value and hope for the best. I've never personally had any work done here, but my boyfriend took his car in because his brakes were squealing. After a few hours they called saying what all they suggested to be replaced, and quoted it to be about $800. Thankfully, my boyfriend talked with his father about the issue in time to stop any work at Firestone, and was referred to someone up north that fixed what was necessary for under $400. Now, the main reason I'm writing this post is because after looking at the estimate papers from Firestone...what they quoted over the phone was only parts. The paper showed a grand total of over $1600 after service charges and taxes. I don't know if they were going to knock any of that off after the work was done or if that's really what he would have paid (without ever knowing it until everything was complete), but be careful if you get any work done from here and just make sure you know what's going on. read more

First visit, June 2012 They replaced my front brake rotors and pads, did an oil change and a state inspection for $402.71 (and recommended another $1438.91 in services). They broke a caliper, so we had to wait around while they went to get another. When I got home I realized someone had stolen an item out of my car's console. When I called to report it to Jason the service manager and alert him that he has a thief on his staff, he said, "If a pattern develops, I'll look into it." NOT that he'll look into it THIS time, that he'll question the employee who signed the work order, etc. NO apology and basically just a "So what?!" When I was finally able to reach the store manager Dale, he just said UH-HUH a few times, as if this was nothing unusual. Eventually he offered me a $35 credit if have the rear brakes done. Second visit, August 2012 Reluctantly I went to Firestone because I couldn't get an appointment at Klingemann that day. My car was overheating and I found the radiator nearly dry although the overflow reservoir was full. They charged me $28 to pressure-test the car and told me they didn't know why there was fresh coolant on the timing cover. Their written recommendation? "Water pump replacement - Need to tear down and inspect - Labor $420." I called a friend who knows cars, and discussed the symptoms and my observations. He suggested replacing the overflow reservoir cap, which wasn't closing tightly. Parts $5, labor $0. Problem solved. ((I need to mention, I'm a woman. Yes, car repairmen do deal differently with women. I know from a lifetime of experience AND from working in a car repair shop.)) read more

If your one day late they hit you with a $25.00 to $35.00 late fee immediately! No grace period. My payment was due 9-3-14 and I paid it on 9-4-14 and low and behold my payment had a $25 late fee attached to it.So I would consider this fact if you decide to get a firestone card. I went into Firestone because I had a slow leak in one of my tires. After looking at it, the guy told me that the tire couldnt be patched and that I needed a new tire. They didn't carry my brand of tire, and wanted me to pay $160 for some tire I have never heard of. I called my brother who told me that didn't sound right and that I should go to Discount Tire instead. Boy am I glad I did! At discount tire, they took a look at my tire and told me it was patchable and that the tread on my tire was still good and that I wouldnt need new tires for a while! Discount Tire was able to patch my tire that Firestone said was unpatchable. I don't hink bad customer service is unique to this Firestone location as I had a similar bad experience at a location in Houston a few years ago. I went to have my break pads replaced and after I picked up the car, the breaks were squeaking more than ever. When I went back to Firestone the next day to complain about it, they told me that an inferior quality of break pads were used and then they changed them to better ones at no cost. Did they think I wouldn't notice? I would not recommend Firestone to anyone. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is that I was not charged for the labor time of them looking at my tire and putting the spare tire on. read more

I did not have a pleasant experience. The sales associate also kept trying to get me to sign up for a credit card after I said no several times. After I said no one last time, he told me my service would then take longer. I had an appointment and the whole thing took 1.5 hours. I had an appointment at 12 pm for State Inspection and wheel alignment. I have Firestone's life long alignment deal. After an hour they came and told me that my 2017 Highlander failed in the inspection as all tires need replacement. I bought a new Highlander and had 36k miles. They wanted me to take the decision to buy new tires right there. I said, I need to do homework and will get back. Just do tire rotation and alignment. After one and a half hours, my car was ready. The guy said they didn't do inspection due to tires and wheel alignment is of no use without new tires so didn't do it. Come on! I waited there for 2 hr and 30 min (even with a scheduled appointment) just to get tire rotated. This is a pathetic service and misleading on inspection! Super friendly customer service. We had an appointment at 10am. After asking to get an estimate (my mother law was helping us pay) it took until 11:45 to get an estimate. Yes it was busy but what's the point of making an appointment if it's not going to be honored. Also we had been sitting in the reception area (which is nice) for over 30 minutes till we saw them even drive our car around. I'm not sure what to make of my recent visit, but I suspect something may be off. Now that I have seen other reviews of this location, I'm curious to peek around under the hood and see f anything is loose or missing. I made an appointment for after I got off work to do an electrical system check because my battery light was on when I left for work that day. First of all, the dudes working the front desk have absolutely no sense of urgency (long, slow moving line at the desk when I arrived) and their pace was slow-moving to match. *They did say that they were able to see my past visit in their system so I wouldn't be charged for the electrical test (which I wasn't). That was good. I described the issue my car was having to the man behind the desk and he prepared my case for the mechanic, who came out a while later saying she wasn't sure what the issue was with my car before starting work on it because no one had briefed her. I then explained it to her. Sort of disorganized, but It happens. Not a big deal. She was friendly and seemed professional. I liked her immediately. *Brief aside: I had been to a Firestone somewhere else 8 months ago and had a new battery and alternators replaced and I said as much to the person over the phone when I made the appointment and to the mechanic at that point. She disappeared for a while to run the diagnostics (I guess) and was back after a little while and said the battery was corroded and just needed to be cleaned. But, she said she wanted to run the test again just to be sure. I assumed at that point, that all that would be done was a clean-up and perhaps anti-corrosion treatment. The final word came on the estimated repairs from the man at the desk and it said something about $18 for an installation and $12 for the anti-corrosion treatment. I was confused. "But we didn't install anything," I said. All he did was say, and I quote: "I know, but it's for the installation." And kept impatiently pointing to the paper in his hand. Say what now? So he went to get the mechanic and I was like, "So did we put in a new battery?" And she sort of sort of apologetically stammered something about "I guess I didn't explain that right..." Something about her energy had shifted from quiet confidence to something I couldn't put a finger on. The good news was supposed to be that they weren't charging me for the battery--just the installation. I should THINK NOT since it wasn't even a year old and Firestone installed that same battery 8 months ago. And why is my battery corroding after 8 months? This is Austin, not the rainforest. I asked the mechanic how this keeps happening and how to avoid it in the future and she said maybe it has a leak somewhere...something to do with the radio? Instead of recommending that I FIX whatever is the root cause--whatever is supposedly ruining almost new batteries, Her only suggestion was that I should come in frequently to get the anti-corrosion treatment. So...I'm thinking something doesn't add up. And while, I was at least relieved that the repair bill wouldn't be hundreds of dollars, I do think that the social and communication skills of their front desk people and technicians is critically lacking. It seems like they were quite content to go ahead and offer a somewhat short-sighted temporary solution to what they intimated was a larger problem for the entire electrical system (but only revealed this to me at my prodding as to why this is happening and only after the repair was done). It felt like they were eager to charge me for what they could get away with to technically get my car's repair code light to go off but not fully disclose to me an ethical recommendation of a totalizing fix. Maybe I'm wrong. But at best, they don't communicate effectively, and worse case scenario is that they are dishonest. Maybe both. I will concede a point in their favor: my total wait time was only like an hour and a half. Not too terrible. read more

Well the Firestone tire place did it for me again. But let's tell the whole story. We are on the trip from California to Florida to Washington DC and somewhere along Fredericksburg Texas my wife was lucky enough to nail an armadillo. Well the car had a new rattle now and it just kept rattling so well I wasn't too worried, but I figured I better get it looked at so I took it down to the Firestone place and said please put this car up on the rack and take a look and tell me what you find it's rattling down there that we'd like to fix. Well I tell you what this place has about 10 Bays where they fix cars and every one of them was full. And to top that off it's Saturday afternoon late. And I'm wondering will they even be able to do it. Well the gentleman was very nice I think it was the same guy ran into last time I came in here last year. Dale was real nice and real sympathetic to any problems that I had he said it might take a couple hours to get to it wow I thought at least they can get to it. I said no problem I went next door got a soda some some Fritos and sat down and did a few things on my cell phone. I went to the bathroom about an hour later walk by an office where Dale was having dinner or lunch or something anyway he said hey did they get that thing fixed for you I said I don't know I'm just waiting here till you call me. He said let's go take a look he went out and found where the armadillo had struck part of the car and there were some guts around there and a bent aluminum heat shield for the exhaust. Well we remove the heat shield and I begged it to show my son what we did to his car and everything is fine. And that was really nice that they found all that and I really think I should have paid something for all these guys taking a look and putting it on the rack and working late in the afternoon but he said hey I'm not going to charge you anything for that thank you for coming in. These guys seem to be the most honest guys in town they sell tires and if you need tires I'd say go there you're going to get a square deal. I live in the area and originally came in for my inspection on my truck and this location has the most professional, knowledgeable courteous employees of any shop I've been too. Upon inspection they suggested one of their alignment options and I knew that they weren't just trying to up sell me, I purchased these lifetime alignment and thankfully haven't had to use it a lot but I feel safe knowing that my family and I are safe on the road. My brother had purchased a battery from them in December 2014. The battery died recently and it was still under warranty. After arriving at Firestone, they told him due to the old model of his battery, there is a 2-3 day backorder time for the battery to arrive. All they can do is jump his car so he can get home until the battery arrives. Not sure how he was supposed to get back to Firestone for the install. Also what is the point of a warranty if they don't keep the parts in stock. The other option is to buy the "newest" model at $50 and a 2-yr warranty. Also they can't check for any other issues until a new battery is installed. Apparently they can't do checks with a temporary install either because (who knows) the car might drive off with it on it's own. So now he has a new battery with a 2-year warranty. Let's hope the model doesn't change again! Seems like a total scam to me and a great way to rip off people when they have no other option. I work in the service industry and if something like this occured, we would've installed what we had in stock and covered it under warranty. ***UPDATE: after my review, I was contacted by the management team same day. Do not take your vehicle here for any serious issues. They will try to rip you off. I went in to have my air conditioner checked on their $9.99 special yesterday because my air suddenly stopped blowing cold. They told me I needed a new condenser and a new compressor and total cost with labor would be $1700. Luckily my car is still under warranty and I took it to the dealership. The only problem with the vehicle is leaky hose. I would have spent $1700 to have the issue continue just a few months later after their warranty ran out. Just a word of warning... do not take your car to Firestone unless you want to be ripped off. read more

Disappointed. After bringing three cars to this Firestone location for the last 15 plus years -- I brought my new car here a few weeks ago. I left it on Friday morning and did not get it back until Sunday evening despite calling back 3 times. Each time I called they made a lame excuse as to why the work had not yet been done. These guys have always been honest and forthright with me. I get sick of seeing people come on here and complain how they were 'ripped-off" because they paid a bunch of money for car repairs. Guess what, car repair is expensive! I have never been hard-sold on anything here and have never paid one cent more than I needed to. I can't say the same for other garages I have dealt with. Chico (the "Lance Armstrong" guy mentioned in another review) is very helpful and upbeat. He will bend over backwards to help you. Same goes for everyone else I've dealt with there. I brought my 95 Nissan in a few days ago to get a tuneup. I can't say that I have taken the best care of it in the 2 years I've had it, so little to my surprise I got a phone call with a few things (mostly the brakes) that needed repair. Everyone I dealt with was very polite and helpful. My Service Advisor was Manny and he was excellent. Very attentive to my needs and gave me some discounts and coupons I didn't know I could get to soften the blow. Everything is running smoother than ever now. All in all a great experience. The folks are EXCELLENT. They quoted for a job to balance and fill four tires on my Dodge RAM3500 dually. Although they quoted low by $100, they honored it and did the full job. After a couple of weeks I wanted my pressures balanced again as I tow a BIG 5th wheel R.V. They took it in and "Bo" got it perfect. Can't say enough good things about them. Everyone makes mistakes but these guys stand behind their work and they make it right. As an aside they even have a 'gal in the tire bay, great to see diversity! Incidentally, the relationship started when I took in my Dodge and they fixed the Firestone Air Ride for nothing even though they did not sell it. I recommend you avoid this place. Or if you do go, and they tell you that you need expensive repairs, ALWAYS get a second opinion. You could save a ton of money--like I did. I had an AC problem, and the technician--I think his name was Shaun--said the expansion block was leaking and that I also needed a new compressor and AC clutch. Estimated cost: $1200. He added that I should hurry and do it that day since the parts were already available and if I waited it might take longer to get the job done. Ha. Nice try. I took the car to another shop and the guy said the compressor and clutch were absolutely fine. Only the expansion block needed replacing. Total cost of repair: $400. The AC has been working great for months now. So....by taking my car away from this Firestone and to another shop completely, I saved $800. Not bad, huh. I understand that mechanics are human and can misdiagnose, but the fact that the salesman was SO EXPENSIVELY WRONG and the fact that he was urging me to get the repair done RIGHT AWAY--made me more than a little suspicious. read more

I am not a car person. I admit that. I do know that I would expect to wait to get my new tires (which were on hold from the dealership I bought my car with) placed on a Saturday morning. I spoke with Scott the Friday before to see if I could come in and get the new tires placed, but he said it would be better to come in Saturday. I scheduled an appointment for noon, but he told me it would be okay to come in sooner if I was able and they would get them on asap. I arrived at 11a with things to do in tow, prepared to wait. And wait. And wait. Not only did it take them an hour an a half to even get to my car (for which I had the appointment), but it took them another hour to get the tires put on. Due to an error in accounting with the dealership, Firestone says that they cannot complete the job (in other words let me drive off the lot) because there is no billing attached to the account. One member tells the dealer that they had an outstanding balance, the salesman I spoke with, Dale, said that they couldn't bill the tires until the work was completed. When I returned to find this out (it is now 2.5 hours since my arrival) and for them to tell me that is going to be ANOTHER 45 minutes to put my original tires back on. They didn't even call me to let me know the situation. I had to walk in to find this. You have got to be kidding. Dale was very rude, apologizing without any sincerity, and blaming the entirety of the situation on the dealership. I was not impressed with his lack of accountability. I said that I was not impressed with the time frame that this was happening, WITH an appointment. I wanted faster service at this point. He said they can't go any faster, and when I informed him I was not impressed with the facility not taking any accountability for length of time needed to do this, he replies with "I can't take responsibility for the dealer not getting their accounts in order". Horribly rude, long wait time, and no wi-fi to keep you busy for this wait. Not worth it- especially when you can go to Discount Tire down the street and get guaranteed service in 45 min if you make an appointment. Call me old-fashioned, but good customer service makes a difference. read more

Took my wifes car to this Firestone to get an ABS light diagnosed on a Sunday (they are OPEN on Sunday, that was a life saver). They told me what the code read and what I needed to do to get repaired. After I repaired part and did necessary steps to finish repair, the light came back on. So I called and Brandon apologized and offered to rescan the trouble light and give me my money for misdiagnosing my problem. Returned after work on Monday and they rescanned the trouble light. This time a different code came up that read "Trouble with Brake System". (Which is a stupid trouble code that the auto manufacture needs to change, the fact that the ABS light is on tells me there is a trouble with the Brake System). Charles (the Technician) and myself could not figure out what the problem was, due to I had already replaced almost everything for the brake system and the code was so vague. Charles finally decided to try and bleed the brakes. That seemed to work for a little while on test drive, but then he had to bleed brakes a little more. Since then I haven't had a problem with the brakes. Both Charles and Brandon were courteous and went out of their way to solve my problem. They have earned my return business. read more

I took my vehicle to Firestone two days ago for an oil change and state inspection. I dropped the vehicle off at 8:30 and by 4, still had not heard from them. When I called I was told The guy I dropped the vehicle off with had already left. It appeared the inspection had not yet been done, but my vehicle needed almost $5000 in repairs! (I only paid $1200 for the vehicle). Some of the things that needed done (such as changing the brake fluid) had just been done! After they completed the inspection I was called and told it failed. It likely needed a new muffler (which may be between $900-1200), the brake fluid was leaking (just had a full brake job done) and third brake light out, etc. they tried to charge me for the "courtesy check" they did, which I didn't ask for and they charged me $55 for the oil change (they were supposed to be having a sale on oil changes for $40). I didn't realized I got overcharged for that until I got home. I left in tears knowing I didn't have the money to make all these repairs. I decided to try a different mechanic the next day who had great reviews on Yelp. They were amazing! I needed a new cat converter and did NOT have a break fluid leak. They passed my inspection and it only cost me around $300. I will never EVER step foot in a Firestone again. They lost my business! Stay away!!! read more

Would give zero if I could. Called and asked if they could get me in soon for an oil change and slow leak repair. Said we can get you in right now. I show up and they say two hours maybe three but closer to two hours. That was fine. Sat in the waiting room right in front of the counter and saw 5 of their people BSing while they had 4 empty bays and only one car in another bay. After sitting for two hours they still didn't pull my car in. I asked them for an update and they said oh we thought you were dropping it off and we had it schedule to be work led on at 5pm. I was never even asked if I was dropping it off and I was sitting in his view the entire time. I had to pick up my son, so he had to sit in the heat for an extra couple of hours wondering where I was. And they charge 30 bucks for a flat repair that's free at most other tire places. I'm from out of town and told them that, so I had no vehicle and no where to go while waiting. read more

My husband and I have had great experiences with another local Firestone (Northcross) and one from the town we just moved from. However, we did not feel that customer service was up to par here. They fixed my car, but did so out of obligation and not with the intent of ensuring they were building a future relationship with us. When my car experienced another problem (probably related to the first problem) in that same week, they just treated it as another issue and charged us another diagnostic fee ($80). When we argued that, they were more concerned with their employees making money ("well, we have to pay our techs somehow," I believe were their words) instead of meeting us in the middle and owning up to the fact that it could have been an issue caused from the earlier week's issue. Very disappointed from my recent visit. I had relatively better experience at other Firestones and thought these are genuine guys but that didn't prove right. I went in for a Winter Care Car check for my car because it had been a while and I was due to tire rotation anyway.I saw their flier about "Free Wheel Alignment Check" and made the mistake of asking about it. The guy said, if we find that an alignment is *required*, you'll have to take it. I should have stopped right there (because that's not how "free" things are supposed to work really) but I told him ok, let's get the check done. After 3 hours, he came to me with some numbers about the alignment and (guess what!) says an alignment is required, without explaining what the numbers mean, how bad it is, etc. From what I could make out, it seemed like a small misalignment to me, so I declined. Then he just got pissed.. said we told you that if we think it needs alignment, you'll have to take it, or else pay $20 for the check. After a lot of discussion, we settled on going ahead with the $80 alignment with a 20% discount on it (a coupon that I already had from their website). After everything is done, the vehicle inspection report that I get shows that my car has perfect treads (7-7, 9-9, 10-10, 8-8) on all 4 tires. Complete rip-off!!! Surprised at how dishonest they can be. Also, the report has several other recommended repairs amounting to $1000. And the guy did not even explain to me what those are about. Just handed me the report and I am expected to make out the rest on my own and decide whether I want to go for anything or not. After lot of pestering, I was able to get some information on a couple of things, but I really wanted to shout that's not how it's supposed to work. Not going there again. Not recommended! Try other Firestones if you really are a Firestone fan. UPDATE: Firestone contacted me and apologized for the bad handling of my case. They also refunded me the money. They get another star for that.
