I have been going to this Firestone with Brandon and Steve for over 2 years now. I had started only with the annual inspection of the car and worked up to complete exhaust system and tires and brakes. My car has a lot of miles but is working well and hasn't been under warranty with the dealer for some time. I am extremely dubious and cautious with auto mechanic shops, but I have felt respected as a woman and not given the rigmarole of selling me more parts/service when I've come in for one problem. They have done some work "on the house" when it was small and they know that I am a loyal customer. For example, I hit some wood debris on the highway the other day and although I didn't suspect any immediate damage, after having the car sit overnight, I apparently had quite a leak of transmission fluid. I had the car towed to Firestone and they spent a few hours on it looking it over and checking all the possible damage. They found only that the transmission filter was loose and they tightened it. They ran tests and drove the car and no further leaking was found and the car ran well as usual. No charge. Which was a huge relief to me! I had an appointment at 9:30 last week to get an alignment and new tires put on my car. At 10:30 they finally took my car back to the shop and they didn't even start working on my car until 11:30. I was then told it would be another hour until it was done. When I called the man told me to expect to be there an hour to an hour and a half, well I didn't even leave until 12:30. I only gave 2 stars because the man up front was nice but other than that my experience was not great. If you're going to make appointments then honor them! Everyone that came in after me (all walk ins) left before I did. Basically there was no need for me to even make an appointment. I normally go to Discount Tire just out of habit, but it was Sunday and they were closed so I decided to check out Firestone. Tony was very helpful and I got my tire fixed for $20. It took about an hour because they were really busy but that is what I would expect for Sunday afternoon. read more

Would not recommend this place due to slow service and the fact that when I took my car here and paid $354 and my cars alignment has never been worse. And the brakes are making a slapping noise. I have read other reviews with the same problem about the brakes. They still need to be fixed. The first time my boyfriend bought the car in right at 9am (with appointment) they said they would call him in an hour with an estimate. 1.5 hours later he had to call them because they never called. He was told it would take an hour and a half. 3 hours later the job was finally done and both of us were almost late to work. The car wasn't fixed. They were supposed to do an alignment. Started driving my car and it shakes like crazy!!!! The alignment is very off!!! We called and took it back. They told us an hour. 3 hours later the car hadn't even been looked at and we had to leave because we had to work. Every time I drive my wheel is all over the place. You get what you pay for, or not... I've long been a fan of Firestone Tires and Auto Care because of the customer service I receive. Today my tire sensor light lit on my dash, but there was no obvious visible issue with any of my tires. So, instead of going home to check the air, l stopped at Firestone because it was along the way. The tech checked and corrected the inflation in all of my tires and sent me on my way in just a few minutes. NO CHARGE!!! Thanks for being a place I can trust to treat me right. read more

No. Just no. Told me to come in because it wasn't busy. I tried to make an appt and they wouldn't let me. Told me it would be an hour to an hour and 15 mins when I did get here. It's been an hour and 45 mins. They knew I had to be at my SECOND job of the day and my car is still not done. Not ok. Not ok at all. I was greeted promptly and everyone was nice but everything else...no. Everyone else seems to be irritated as well. If everyone here has been waiting forever, what the hell are they doing back there? Very disappointed. I have gone to this location for a while and normally get good service. Saturday I got an oil change. When I was told my vehicle was done I turned it on and realized it hadn't been reset and it still thought it needed the oil change. The service sticker was also still old so I went back in. (There is no way I am going to let that jeep beep at me every time I turn it on). They had the same guy, #14, come out and fix those two things, resetting the oil tracker took forever, and I was finally on my way. Today at work I am talking to a co-worker and she asks what's going on with the front of the jeep. I look and the air filter flap is hanging almost on the ground. So I had to leave work a bit early to go back. This time the gentleman asks me what's wrong and I told him about the flap and told him that now I am worried the young man may have missed other things since it's my second time back. I wait for a while and the young man that originally worked on my vehicle brings me my keys. Says he checked my air, made sure the pin was in and he walked away. No apology and everyone else in that room had left. I told them I was uncomfortable with the work I received and they had the same guy check it for a 3rd time! Then no one was there to offer any sort of apology, refund or even a coupon. I am done going to this location and will be telling everyone to make sure they go a different place. I now have to drive around wondering what else #14 messed up on my jeep. read more

Worst experience I've ever had. Told me last week that they could patch up my back right tire then the low pressure light came on about 2 days after that. They scammed me on my state inspection. I left the car with them at lunch time, then went back to work. I got a call from them 45 minutes later saying my windscreen wipers were torn and needed to be replaced. I know that my wipers were fine. They said they could replace them for $20 or they'd have to fail my inspection. Since a new inspection's more than $20 anyway, I figured I'd just pay and deal with it. But I know my wipers are OK. So I get there, and when I'm paying and about to get my car, I say -- "Can I see the previous torn wipers please?" And the guy gives me a dirty look, then goes outside where 3 or 4 mechanics are sitting around slacking off. I see him reach into a bin of wipers, take out 2 of them, and just before he heads on his way back into the store, I see him pulling back the rubber to tear the ends on both of them several inches down. It was so brazen, I couldn't believe it. I didn't know what to do, so I left. But I have never been back there, and I strongly recommend you don't go to someone who will cheat you. I work right across the street, so with that stupid short-term greediness, they lost a potential customer for several years, plus now I'm posting about them on here. read more

Sorry to hear about so many bad reviews. I had a great experience today. Yesterday I had a flat and called Firestone. Steven, the manager, who was amazing. First thing in the morning he ordered my (very rare) tire. Turns out my tire was repairable, and instead of charging me $130 for a new tire + labor, I was out the door with $20 and my tire repaired. Terrible service!! If I could give zero stars I would! I came at 8:30am for a state inspection and they told me it would be an hour because there was one person ahead of me. I said that was fine and sat in the waiting room with my 4year old. It took THREE HOURS. And then when I tried asking what was going on the employee in the waiting room addressed everyone except me until I asked him if I was invisible! Their excuse was "We tried calling you".... I was in the waiting room the whole time. So long that my phone was dead, but still... I WAS IN THE BUILDING. Then they still had the nerve to ask me if I wanted them to replace things! I dont like taking my cars to the shop. I dont trust anyone. I took my daughters car here for front brake pads and rotors. They gave me a fair price and did it in a couple hours. Prices, deals are competitive. LaRon is a great rep for these guys and a natural seller. That's key in his business. He's also forthcoming and helpful. He will go out of his way to help you out if you are in need, also. He provides good customer service. Every time I've brought my car in - over the last four years - it's been done right, done early or on time. I've had no complaints, other than maybe some fingerprints on my door handle. I see people complain here about upselling. Anyone who comes to a full-service auto repair shop and doesn't get upsold, you're dealing with someone who's not focused on staying in business. Upselling is a way of life in the auto repair business. If you don't upsell, you close. I figure there are at least four other national brand ops in ATX you could do business with if you don't like these guys. I've used three of them and they're all fairly awful. I give Firestone my business because they take good care of me and, to date, they've backed all their work. I don't have to return to talk about missed details. Part of this is on you, general public. When you pick up your car, make sure it meets your expectations. If you think you got a bad deal, ask questions. Ask why. He offered us various options on how to approach the fix and the technicians did a really great job. I went into this Firestone to get a new set of wipers for my truck. It was raining outside and the wipers were not the best. I went inside and told the Tech i needed wipers and they went out and found what type of wiper i needed and went to find them. The tech couldn't find any wiper blades that fit my truck. The manager then came over to the display and couldn't find any in my size. After a few minutes the manager grabbed a pair of blades and told the tech to put them on. I asked the manager what was up and he said the tech wasn't looking in the wrong place. I said ok and got in my truck and drove away. It didn't take me long to realize that the manager had given him a smaller pair to put on my truck. I went back and asked the manager why he did this and he said he didn't think it would matter. I asked him why he didn't ask me before he did it and he replied he was sorry. I told him he flat lied to me.. Been going to this Firestone since it opened many many years ago. I needed two tires and an alignment. I did a ton of research on tires trying to find the highest quality lowest cost tire available, I found a tire on the Firestone website that was inexpensive and had a ton of positive reviews on multiple websites, so I decided on that one obviously! I drove to the Firestone shop near my house and was informed the tires I wanted were out of stock in my size, and IF they could be special ordered it would be another 5 days. I was ready to walk out the door at that point, the next cheapest tire they had in stock was $40 more, I work at a grocery store every dollar counts! The employee ended up discounting the next tire up about $25 each and took $20 off the alignment, so the cost ended up about the same so I ended up with a higher quality tire at a great price. I don't know if this is something they do for everyone or not, but either way it sold me on them as where I'll be buying tires from now on. read more

My car fails inspection because my LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS were apparently NOT WORKING.... okay great... they want to sell me the light for $17 and I need 2 of them. Auto Zone has 2/$9.99 so I go to auto zone. My amazing dad meets me there and helps me change them. I come back to get my passing inspection report and they didn't even CHECK to make sure I changed them. Not to mention- I asked them to air my tires uo because my tire pressure light was on... and surely they would've seen the light when they drove it to complete the inspection. They didnt. Additionally, my driver side window is off track, so I asked that they not roll it down... they rolled it down and I had to get it back up the correct way so that it doesn't make a horrid wind sound while driving... I hate being a girl having to deal with car stuff. read more

I went in explained we are just visiting and the nice man came out even with how busy they were and checked my tires and all were okay. Might b a sensor problem. These people are after your money and will lie to you to get it. I took my car in there on Sunday for a low tire. It had a nail in it. Laron said that it could not be fixed. ( subsequently found out that the tire could have been patched and I did not need a new tire) He did not have my same tire so he gave me a" better tire". On Monday I had a blow out on another tire. The tow truck took me to Costco tires. I had one new tire with a different speed rating from the other 3 tires. Instead of having to replace the one blown out tire,i had to buy three new tires to match the different speed rating of my new tire. I called to get a refund for the life time tire balance because Costco gives you free tire balance and rotation when you buy their tires. The guy who i spoke with on the phone knew instantly what happened and just said that it was the right size...Big help! I went by the Firestone to speak with a manager and ended up speaking with Joaquin his response amounted to "hate to be you." I have called the corporate offices to lodge a complaint. A regional manager is suppose to contact me...we will see. Laron comes off as if he has your best interest at heart, but is only interested in selling you services that you do not need. I maybe out four hundred dollars for the tire and rotation service, plus six hundred for the three new tires. Reality check they are now the big losers! i have been a customer since 2006 with four different vehicles...they are now out thousands upon thousands of dollars. Made an appointment to have my oil changed Saturday morning. We were anxious to get it done, so took first available, 8:30 in the morning. We got there at 8:15, and there was one couple in the waiting area, and two technicians. I told one of the employees I had an appointment and without asking me who I was or what the appointment was for, he told me appointments are all subject to an hour and a half wait. That's it, no explanation as to why they wouldn't attempt to service my car when they said they would. He never even made eye contact with me. So we left, and got it done across the street with no wait. read more

I recently bought Potenzas from here and was having a slow leak in one of them so I brought my car back, that's when the CSR told me that the warranty wouldn't cover it if there is a nail in the tire (OK that's fine) but I proceeded to ask the guy so what does the warranty cover and he said only manufacturing defects, and I told him "A manufactory defect is a manufactory defect and they need to fix it regardless of the warranty, you don't need a warranty for a manufacture defect." so I asked again "So what does the warranty cover, does it cover tread wear?" "He said No, only manufactory defect." So warranty pretty much covers nothing. So I went to Discount tire and they patched my tire FOR FREE! AND I will be buying my next set of tires from Discount Tire because apparently the people over there at Firestone don't want to work. read more

My experience at this location was less than ideal. I scheduled the appointment for 12/17 online to get a tire repaired. I had to call them early that morning to confirm that my appointment was set because I never received a confirmation email. My appointment was confirmed for 3pm. I arrived right after 3, and was told that it would take a few minutes to get my car pulled in, and 1-1.5 hours for the service. At this point, I was confused because I assumed an appointment would ensure that I had fast service. I left the shop around 3:30 and my car still wasn't pulled into the shop. I received a call from Gary at 3:56 and was told that my tire wasn't repairable, and he quoted me $50 (not including tax, labor, etc.) I wasn't sure that this was a good price so I called my brother and he said it sounded fair, so I agreed to this. Gary then gave me the final total of $82.22 for the new tire. My car wasn't ready until 5:30 and, although Gary was very nice, I was frustrated that it took so long. I don't understand the point of scheduling an appointment if it is still going to take 2.5 hours. read more

I made my appointment online yesterday for 4:30 p.m. Today. When I arrived I was told that my appointment was incomplete so they did not know what bulbs to change even though when I filled out the form I put comments of which bulb needed to be changed. That was okay though it only took an extra few minutes to give the technician the information. Once that information was in he was able to give me an estimate for my repairs which was changing 3 bulbs, an oil change, and windshield wiper replacement. He said that my car would be ready at 6 p.m.. I asked in advance what all was included in the oil change because I had no windshield washer fluid and I felt that my tires were low. He stated that all fluid levels would be checked as well as my tire pressure and wear and tear. At 6:30 p.m. I received my first update which was that the bulbs were harder to reach than anticipated. At 7 p.m. My car was finally ready. I paid and signed the ticket. I asked if my tire pressure was low and he confirmed that they were and air was added. He went on to say that all of my fluid levels were checked and were ok. I asked if windshield washer fluid was refilled and he said yes . Needless to say halfway home I realize the washer fluid level light was blinking. So I tried it and of course there was no fluid in it and the store had closed for the day. I guess I'm going to have to go back tomorrow and ask them to do it. It's really too bad that the wait was more than an hour over what was told to me and the form was filled out that all fluid levels were checked and okay when they were not. Makes me wonder what they checked and what they didn't check. I get that its late and they are about to close but they should treat their first customer of the day and their last customer of the day, the same. read more
