This week I experienced exceptional customer service from Jose at the Firestone location on Ramon Rd in Cathedral City. I had a low air alert and couldn't find a gas station with working air! I pulled into Firestone where Jose not only put air in my tire but also he noticed that the tire alert on my cars dashboard was in the wrong location... b/c the previous service station who rotated my tire hadn't updated my computer. He quickly made the update with a smile and sent me on my way. This took all of 10 minutes from start to finish. I unfortunately do not have any pictures to go with this review. Was not thinking of it since I had to get an emergency tire repair. I was driving late afternoon near the Salton Sea, caught a nail in my truck tire. I was able to pull over off the highway and changed the tire with my spare. Called Firestone, I was about 45 minutes away. Asked if I could bring my tire to the before the closed and then come back the next day to have them do the repair. I was staying in a hotel and did not want to leave the tire in the back of the truck overnight. Jack was great and allowed me to bring in the tire, made an appointment for the next day to come back and they would have it repaired and ready to put back on the truck. Came back the following day in the afternoon and they had it repaired and back on my truck, spare replaced all within 30 minutes. Great service, great value and great people at this location. I am currently at Firestone Complete Auto Care. I made an appointment at 11am for rear brake service due to squealing and grinding when I use my brakes. When I arrived, the technician said there was a spike in the sidewall of my rear drivers side tire, and that the tire was almost flat. I confirmed this to be true although I had no issue with this tire when I had pulled up into the business 5 minutes before. So you can imagine my luck that this problem would surface just as I showed up to my appointment, but thank God I was conveniently at a tire replacement shop already for service! I consented to a new tire to replace the aforementioned damaged one, and they said they would inspect my brakes and get back to me with an estimate on rear brake service WITH resurfacing of the rotors and rear brake service WITH REPLACEMENT of the rotors. (I was quoted on the phone prior to coming here that that estimate would be $325 and $548 respectively). It is now more than 2 hours later, and they have not even pulled my car in to be evaluated for service. The shop does not seem busy today, and when I asked about the wait or for an update, I was told that they were working on another car and that the supervisor had to give a lunch to a technician who had worked past his 5th hour. That's it. No apology. He just dismissed the fact that they had made a customer (WITH an appointment) wait over 2 hours while they did nothing in regards to the service that I came to them for. I have worked in customer service for well over 20 years, and I can be a very understanding patron. I understand when a business is short-handed or a service takes a little longer than expected. However, this behavior shows a complete disregard for their customers, and paints this business in a very negative light. I am waiting for them to tell me that I WILL need the rotors replaced (the technician told me earlier that if there is a grinding sound, then they will have to replace the rotors which is not true...you only HAVE to replace the rotors when: The rotor's thickness is at or below the minimum safe limit stamped on its edge. * There are deep gouges (usually from metal-on-metal pad wear). * The rotor is severely warped, structurally cracked, or has hard spots.)) But I am expecting them to deny that and push for replacement. This has been incredibly disappointing, and unfortunate that a shop like this, under the Firestone name, is operating with such shady business practices. Be warned. Hopefully they can redeem themselves, but the odds are certainly not in their favor. I'll post an update after service has been completed. Update: I have been here now 5 hours with no recent update as to when my car's service will be completed. As expected, the manager Jake said I needed new rotors as the old ones were severely damaged (which I doubt) and that it would only be about an hour and a half. That was at 2:15 pm. It is now 3:54pm with no update. And I haven't left the store since I got here. I will say one thing for them. They are consistent in their continued "terrible" customer service. What did I do to them that would warrant such treatment, other than choose to patronize their establishment? read more

The manager was rude and I caught him in 3 different lies! Was having my tires shipped there and when they arrived I made an appointment to have them put on my vehicle. When I arrive from my appointment, I was in told it would be 4 hours! I was livid.. they were rude didn't care, took longer on purpose .. was laughing and talking about me and helped other people that came after me and they were done out before me! I called the executive office and they in turn called them with me on the other line and I heard the manager lie to them and say they had two tires on it already which was false since I was right there and could see that my car had no tires on it ! I bought a car from Drive time and you are a qualified mechanic that they use. If you have trouble with your car within 30 days of purchase I came to your office, and I had a tire light on and I wanted you to check and see if I need new sensors. The technician who seemed very annoyed, came out and checked all the tires with a hand machine and said all the sensors are fine. I could add more tire pressure if you want so the light will go off and I said well if the light will go off that's fine and it continues to go often on but after the 30 days I went to a tire shop and they put it on a computer which he should have done and found out that I indeed had three tire sensors that were bad so now I have to replace all four because there's no reason to replace three had the technician that I went to did his due diligence and with the extra mile I wouldn't have to pay out of my pocket for new tire sensors so you get a horrible review for this and I'm going to also send a message to Drive time to let them know of my experience which I'm sure they don't care because it'll be nothing out of their pocket so it's just really sad that you can't go to a mechanic and get qualified work. You can't trust mechanics and it's really sad. Unless you know the mechanic you don't get great work you get screwed and you get ripped off so thank you for making me realize that that is a true statement. read more

I did a walk in on a Thursday at 7am when they open and had a simple screw in the top of my tire and was told with only 2 cars in their bays out of 6 and no customers around that ir would take FOUR HOURS FOR A TIRE PATCH. We were on vacation in Palms Springs and the plastic underside of my Nissan Altima became dislodged. We serendipitously were able to make a last minute appointment with Jeff who was very helpful. From there, we arrived and were taken care of by Alexis. He went out to see the car and immediately knew what to do to fix it - replace the loosened plastic screws. The entire thing was done in less than ten minutes. What a shining example of fantastic customer service. He didn't have to check us in or do anything fancy, just literally took out our plastic screw and put in a new plastic screw. Problem fixed and he sent us on our way with a smile. We have been going there for about 5 years and being well taken care of by Jeff, who is no longer there. We bought our 4 tires and a battery for about $1100. It was a fair price. We bought them on October 4th. Today is October 9th and I had a road hazard issue on my way to work. I immediately called to see how we can resolve this matter, I was told that if they couldn't fix the tire they would replace it for free. After taking the tire in, they want to charge for mounting and balancing because it's a new tire. It's not about the fee, it's the fact that the tire is only 5 days old and under warranty. Richie at Firestone has advised me on the service of my 2000 Lincoln Towncar for over a year. It has always been accurate, honest advise and the service is top notch. More recently they discovered a worn rear wheel bearing seal which was leaking oil from the axle onto the newly installed brake rotors and pads causing a soft brake pedal. Richie and his mechanics identified and rectified the problem at a reasonable cost and time. Given the age and high miles on the vehicle I am confident about the estimates and repair when I bring the car in for servicing. I had made an appointment to fix my A/C. I went in to drop off my car and they informed me AFTER I got there, that the technician was not there and would not be there until tomorrow. They could have easily respected me as a customer by informing so I wouldn't have had to change my day's schedule and get there. I made an appointment then for the following day. Drop off was 9:30 After two hours, i never got a call about the status so I called them. They said they hadn't yet gotten to it So then why do they have people make an appointment if they will get to it "when they get to it". I told mangr That I spoke to someone who said it was fine to be there before 4pm. Mangr denied he said this. I told him that he could of told me on the phone that it was too late. PLEASE make sure your service is 100% complete before driving off this Firestones parking lot. I came in for a simple oil change and that evening on my way out of town my car signaled that my oil level was below the minimum amount required. I was forced to pull over to find an auto parts store that carried oil for my specific type of vehicle. I wish I could say mistakes happen but in my mind an oil change is the most basic service these garages provide. And for them to empty out my oil and just basically forget to add oil, well it's pretty much inexcusable. Management offered a free oil change for my next visit which on the surface seems fine but could I really trust these guys to do their job the next time around? I wish I could at least say the the customer service was on par but after waiting an hour I was told my vehicle was almost ready, it wasn't til an hour later that my car was actually done... which I'd later find out it wasn't actually done. I can't imagine what these guys were doing during the 2 hours I was waiting for my vehicle... It definitely wasn't a complete oil change. Huge disappointment. read more

This has been the second time I receive horrible service from the "Manager" Daniel. 1st time was over the phone when I scheduled a Saturday appointment online. Austin a employee was doing his best to help us as fast as he could with no help from Alex the (manager)! The tech got in my truck with dirty hands and no seat covers. Alex the manager apologized and tried to justify him not washing his hands and getting in my truck dirty. Really! He also stated that my steering wheel was already dirty! Really! Asked for them to flush and bleed my brakes and do an alignment. quoted $120 for the alignment (non-lifetime one) and 90 or 99 or something for the brake flush. I started pulling out the 230-something he said pay after. ok got picked up from a family member 3 hours later ive been in the shop for the last half hour and they say hey we can't do your alignment, I was like why not? he said o you have no brakes. I'm like I do they have air in the lines I wanted a flush and for you to bleed them. he said o well we can do that then do your alignment, have you out of here in about 3 hours I'm like, what did you think plan A was genius? I started a whole profile with my address and number, you didn't think to call? and the brakes were soft, explained the whole issue to you prior to giving you the keys, you saw it for yourself when you got the miles off the dash. I had soft brakes but obviously i drove here and drove this car 400 miles from where I bought it last week, and I drove it home again after leaving right then and there. waste of my very few days I do get off during tire/alignment shop hours. can't believe I came in for a brake job and alignment just so that 3 hours later I can be told they can't do my alignment cause my brakes... now I definitely don't want y'all working on anything, no communication, no sense, straight waste of my time read more
