I do look at Yelp and Google reviews for a quick overall picture. I dropped my truck off and the technician was nice enough to take the truck and put it inside over a weekend until they could work it. Finished the work pretty quick, I really wish shops would go back to removing diagnostics charges when its not super involved or the customer chooses to move forward with the repairs. In this case they listed a $118 dollar charge for a computerized engine analysis and there was nothing to do with what was worked on. They also told me I needed a coolant flush for $400 and the radiator was replaced less than a year ago and probably has 500 miles on it. That kind of stuff is sad when they do it to people that do not have any mechanical knowledge. I think Firestone needs to take a look at their online reviews and make some changes. read more

I can't relate to the bad reviews. I had an unbelievable experience. Driving home to Tucson, late on a Tuesday night, I had to replace a tire and cross-threaded three lug nuts in a QT parking lot. I don't know how, but I did. Wednesday morning, I started calling shops to get the family van towed for a repair so we could go home. I called six different shops and got quotes from a few--one of which was from Israel at Firestone. I was so impressed by his friendliness on the phone that I decided I'd give my business to this shop. The job turned out to be a nightmare for the techs. They were able to remove two of the lug nuts but the third demanded that they remove the entire wheel assembly and use a die grinder. When it became apparent that this "two hour job" was turning into a full day, they set me up with Enterprise for a rental so my family could return to Tucson. I came up the next day to get the van and Israel worked with me on the labor and parts so that he would honor the original quote. I was absolutely blown away. I was expecting the worst after a couple days of high stress for me and the family (on my birthday, even!). But instead, I was caught off guard by Israel's grace and generosity. What a guy! The kind of service I received from Israel and the techs at Firestone Chandler (4045 S. Arizona Ave) makes me want to drive up to Chandler for my vehicle needs. Would give 0 stars if they could. They quoted me $4000 and couldn't explain what was wrong with car. The guy at the front had no idea what was going on and could not answer any of my questions. So I decided to take it to a different mechanic who said those parts that firestone quoted me for weren't even messed up and the other mechanic was able to tell me what was actually wrong with the car and quoted me $1000. They even showed me pictures to prove that the parts that were originally quoted to me were still in good condition and didn't need to be replaced. DONT EVER DO WHAT FIRESTONE RECOMMENDS. Get a 2nd quote first!!! If you have a honda/acura check out Hon-Man Auto Care. They didn't even charge me a diagnostic fee to tell me what was wrong. We had a check engine light on, which had been diagnosed as an O2 sensor during an oil change. During the oil change, it was suggested we change the air filter. We took the car home, vacuumed and blew out the air filter and all was good. We took the car to Firestone to check the O2 sensor as we had just replaced the catalytic converter. We paid $130 for a COMPLETE engine inspection. They said it was the secondary catalytic converter and quoted us $5000 to $6000. We took it back to the shop that replaced the CC which was under warranty. As it turns out, the engine was running rich and in need of a tune-up. The primary CC blew through the secondary CC. Total mis-diagnosis. Now here is the kicker. Firestone threw out our air filter that I know was there. They also never replaced the engine cover. We went back later and recovered it!. SO, tune-up, complete fuel system clean, replace CC under warranty, replace secondary CC, all under $1k. Ryan (Mgr) and Israel (franchisee?) are completely incompetant, dishonest and fraudulent. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

So disappointed, this has been my place for years. Made an appointment way in advance to get oil changed, tires rotated and air fluids check. This is my only vehicle and had to take time off of work. After $25 worth of lyft rides they had not touched my car after 4 hours and I needed to get back to work so a waste of time. Will NEVER go back. Lost a long time customer. He hung up on me the first time he put me on hold. Said he had only one guy. Terrible experience. First of all... they up charge the oil by 300%. I had a 3pm appointment and had to walk home about half mile. I walked back at 6pm (closing time) to find my car in the same spot. The guy asked if he wanted me to do the oil change while I wait for 30 minutes. This place used to cost $70 in 2020 for a synthetic oil change and is now a whopping $140! The front staff guy seems knowledgeable but I am not too impressed with the results. I brought my minivan in to have all 4 tires changed out. After it was finished, I turned on the engine and my car sensor tells me the rear driver's side tire was low in pressure. I went out of the car to look and indeed that tire looks almost flat. I told the car mechanics about the low pressure (and they all seem to be teens or early 20s workers) and he said "oh just drive it around for some time and it should go back to normal." I told him to come look at the tire visually as it wasn't a sensor issue and he proceeded to pump the tire back up which made the sensor show that the tire is now at normal pressure. Fast forward 6 months later, I end up with an irreparable flat tire with no signs of what could have possibly led to the flat. I ended up buying a tire at Costco which I should have done in the beginning. In summary, service is questionable and quality of products is questionable. read more

I brought a brand new rim to Firestone to replace one on my vehicle that had curb rash. I inspected the new rim which was still in the box before dropping the vehicle off and it was in perfect condition. A few hours later I received a call stating my vehicle was completed and ready for pick up. Upon pulling up I could see the new rim was damaged in multiple spots. I was pretty upset since I had just spent $575 on the rim. The manager on duty at the time was Ryan, he has zero customer service skills and I knew this from past experience. Ryan is rude, unapologetic, unprofessional, and dishonest. Ryan nonchalantly said I would need to wait until Israel, the manager above him came in the next day to see what he was going to do. I was unhappy and did not feel like he was handling the situation appropriately considering my property had just been damaged but I kept my composure. Ryan then attempted to charge me for a second vehicle that had a nail removed and when I said I didn't think I should have to pay for that since he owed me $575 for the damaged rim he said he was not going to release my keys. He and my husband went back and forth for a minute before he handed the keys over and told us to get out. Ryan admitted that the rim was damaged at the shop in front of multiple people and told us Israel would deal with it the next day. Waited until noon and finally called Firestone myself only to be told by Ryan that Israel was at lunch and was super busy so if I wanted to talk to him I would need to keep calling until I got ahold of him. Ryan also stated he now believed that they did not damage my rim and I flat out asked him why he was lying. I also told him we will be going to court then and he said go ahead he didn't care. I waited awhile and finally got Israel on the line. He never asked me our side of the story instead he told us to call corporate and hung up. Fortunately corporate was on the line to experience the unprofessional management themselves. One star, simply because I cannot put zero stars (Hear that enough). I brought the car in for an alignment, and an oil change. Biggest mistake was allowing this store to even lay a finger on my car. My car was had an appointment at 10am, and was not finished until 3:45. The location closes at 4, and I was told that I will need to get here as soon as possible, because they close at 4. I rushed to the location and received my car. Signed the paperwork, that totaled 101 for an oil change itself. I walk out to my car, and there is oil stains on my driver seat, the door, and the center console. My car's interior has light grey cloth. Im warning you, no matter how good the deal sounds- it's NOT worth it. Take your car somewhere reputable. The worst part is I have doubts they even changed the oil. Sincerely disappointed! I walked into a friendly staff that seemed willing to go the extra mile but appears to be nothing more than face value! I originally made an appointment to have my air conditioning fixed because driving without air conditioning in arizona is pure torture!so I was talked into buy 4 new tires which I was willing to pay for and was told I needed a specific part for my a/c to work again. They told me it would only take two days if they ordered it now. I took a minute to think about the price they had quoted me but asked them to put the order in that day. 3 days later I had not heard a peep and called to confirm they had my number correct. They did but seemed to not be able to give me a straight answer what had happened with the order but assured me it would be here by Friday. So I accepted I would be driving to work in 110 degree weather for another 4 days and sucked it up. 5 days had went by it was now Saturday and I had not heard anything. I called them again and this time they claimed they don't know where my part is but they couldn't call the company anyway because now it was the weekend. At this point I was starting to take the hint they DIDN'T want my money or business. The mechanic on the phone assured me he would personally call them on Monday and then call me regardless. I repeated back to him "I will talk to you MONDAY?" He said yes and hung up the phone. So I accepted I would have to waiting the weekend. Well TUESDAY rolls around ( I sat around waiting by phone all day Monday) and nothing! I've been driving around with no a/c for close to 2 weeks which was supposed to be 2 days. So I called a local part store asked if they had the part in stock and got the part myself after being inconvenienced and rolling into work sweaty for almost two weeks. They had it that day and helped me put it in. Today is now Friday I NEVER heard from them and probably never will! Usually I don't write many reviews but all I can think is how terrible it was waiting around for these guys to get it together and how driving around in the heat waiting on their phone call and hope others aren't put in this terrible situation. I checked the tire pressure to see if that was the issue but everything was fine. Just brought it to the dealership for oil change and asked them to check the light. Came in a few days ago to get a coolant leak issue taken care of. I was greeted by the Manager Israel who was very friendly and efficient. I thought the pricing was fair and Israel noted a few things that needed to be taken care of in the near future. He let me know which issues should be taken care of soon and which one could be put off for a while. It is hard to find a good mechanic who I honest and efficient,so when you find one, stick with them. Israel even fixed my broken sun visor and I didn't even mention it to him. I went to this location out of convenience as I live a fair distance away. I loved the Firestone back where I lived the service was great and the work was spot on. This location is the exact opposite. I have given it multiple tries but will now be driving the extra distance to go somewhere else. They take forever even when you make an appointment. I have noticed they lie about being busy, (they're always busy?) even though more often the work is done in far less time than they claim it will take. I have had the manager straight out refuse to take my car because of business. The short chubby pale manager is extremely rude and doesn't hesitate to make comments about not wanting to work. How is this guy a representative of firestone? So if you need to maintenance your car go somewhere else and save yourself the headache of dealing with these people. read more

Scheduled an appt for 11am on a Saturday for brakes and tire rotation/balance. Said we could drop it off earlier than appt time so we were there at 8am, with the hope it would be done earlier. No promises made, just a logical thought. At 3:30, we got a call that they couldn't remove the tires because the lug nut lock wasn't in the car. We asked if they checked the glove compartment, which they replied yes. Frustration set in due to the fact that they had the vehicle for 7 hours already and clearly blew by the 11am appt. Went to pick it up and there the lock was in the glove compartment clearly marked in a bag. Quickly returned to inform them and were met with two different stories. One was apologetic, one was that rules prevent them from opening packaging. Due to the time, they could only rotate/balance tires. Got the vehicle home only to find black dirt/grime all over the passenger leather seat. This shop use to be a Fletcher's but was bought out by Bridgestone Firestone recently. (Apparently all the Fletcher's were bought out) My girlfriend bought a battery here when it was Fletcher's about a year ago. Yesterday her car almost didn't start and this morning I barely got it to turn over so I could go get her battery warrantied out. The first Firestone I went to which was just down the street from me at Baseline and Rural sent me packing saying they couldn't warranty out the battery and to go back to the place it was purchased at and that they would warranty it out. Thank god I left the car running or who knows what would've happened. Thanks for the no customer service whatsoever dude. So I had to take it to the one way out in south BFE Chandler, praying to the car gods all the way there that the car wouldn't die on the way out there or I'd be royally screwed. When I rolled in to this Firestone expecting best case scenario, trying not to think of how maybe it would be company wide not to have to take care of old Fletcher customers anymore, praying again that hopefully someone will help me... At first the gentleman behind the counter pretty much said the same thing the first guy did at the other store. Over $200 for a battery barely a week over one year old and no one was going to warranty it? I almost went apeshit. But as my good luck would have it he called out the manager Antonio who was a former employee of that particular Fletchers to double check to see if there was anything he could do. Now I'm praying to the Goddess of customer service hoping someone here can find it within themselves to help a customer when one needs help. I wasn't disappointed. To get a simple oil change you have to be lucky if you are able to maker an appointment, or if you think that by dropping your car off and wait for it it's going to be faster....absolutely NOT! They are so unorganized, if you show up they will tell you that you need to make an appointment, and if you try making an appointment they will tell you that you actually have to call during the week. I came early on a Saturday around 7:15am, there were 7 cars ahead of me...by 10am still wasn't ready!! I had to wait in their lobby as that's my only car. :( This is just horrible!! In another occasion I dropped my car during the week around 1pm and they said it should be ready by 4pm, we came back and the car wasn't ready. We return before they closed and the car wasn't still ready!! We had to wait another 15 minutes for our car. I'm definitely not coming back to their Arizona ave. location!!!! read more

I share the same frustration as many others in that have posted reviews. I scheduled an appointment, it was delayed and then took needlessly longer time than was necessary due to their actions. I initially went in on Saturday and got a quote for the repair. I was told the repair would take "a little over an hour." They were busy, so I agreed to make an appointment for Monday afternoon. I left work early, and I arrived for my appointment on time. That is when I was told that the part for the repair had not even been ordered, but would only take a short time to arrive. After waiting patiently for 45 minutes, I was asked what vehicle I was waiting for. I told them, and they said they did not realize I was waiting and thought they had the whole next day for the repair. Ugh! Really? This is my primary work vehicle and scheduled my appointment so I could wait while the work was being done. The work was eventually done. But, I was left frustrated after waiting several long hours for what should have taken only "a little over an hour." This auto repair shop desperately needs to improve their scheduling and communication skills internally and with their customers. That issue aside, i have not had any issues with the actual quality of the repair. read more

I was recommended to this shop by and old coworker. I'm so glad I went. The shop manager, Bryon has saved me some serious money over the last year with 2 of my vehicles. He stretched the life of one and it is still running better than it ever has, 6 months later. The other vehicle, he had let me know that his shop wasn't qualified to do the work on it and didn't charge me for the diagnostic or any unnecessary charges. Even just for tires or a simple oil change, I will pay the extra money and go 15 miles out of the way because they give me something most shops can't.
