After my first visit with Sun Devil, I got my car back and the master lock system in the driver door where the window fell was not working and my car would no longer lock. It was locking even after I the window had fallen into the door. I brought my car in a week later and let them know what's going on and asked if maybe the electrical work they did it hit something delicate in my door. I brought my car in at 8am and called right before they closed at 6pm to check in. They let me know that it's the lock actuator and that they weren't able to determine this damage was caused by neither the window falling into the door nor their electrical job in my door, but was "just a coincidence." I felt a bit dejected- the timing seemed a bit uncanny that they just fixed my window in my door and then the door locks break all the sudden. But I'm truly just a girl, and I have to trust that they really didn't cause this damage themselves during the work they did on my previous visit... So I paid another $500 for their services, they ordered a new lock actuator, and had it fixed by the end of the following day. I also had asked them to replace my running light and break light that were out, which they said they did and were working fine... but they are still out. I communicated with Casey and Adam on this and they were both super kind and patient trying to explain what is wrong, and the parts needed/quote. My locks work like normal again. At least I was able to get it fixed, I just really hope they didn't pull a fast one on me... read more

I will try to be as objective and fair, and provide a most honest review as I can however, I am certain that I will not be returning to receive any further services from them due to the incompetent work and lack of respect received on the most recent transaction. We had been taking our vehicle to get regular oil changes and inspections for the past three years and entrusted them to perform a job costing over $1500. 10 days after the job we experienced issues with the car and brought it in again to get it checked out. My one positive attribute of their service was they provided a free Uber from the shop to work. Apart from that, they attempted to blame us on the misfiring of the engine when they had most recently done an inspection and missed the cause of the problem and attempted to fearmonger us into purchasing their services. I highly do not recommend working with Michael at this Sundevil auto location. Due to this transaction we will no longer be recommending nor purchasing any future services with this shop. read more

Called them this morning for an oil change and Russell was able to schedule my appointment for the same day! I found a great coupon online so my full synthetic oil change with a full inspection was only $37. Their waiting room was pleasant. They told me it would take an hour but 25 minutes later, my car was ready! I received a comprehensive overview via text of everything they checked. Turns out, I'm in need of new tires. I brought my E350 in for service b/c I was smelling fuel in the cabin of the car.  Sun Devil diagnosed my car with several issues to say the least including preventative maintenance. I have used sun devil auto for services in the past and have always had a good experience. Today, I accidentally ran over a curb and I could tell something was dragging underneath the vehicle. They are very close to my house which is convenient so I called them an hour before they closed and told them what happened. They told me to bring my car right over so they could look at it . When I arrived, the gentleman at the front was who I spoke with on the phone and he helped me immediately and took my keys to the other shop members. I would say I was there for about ten minutes. There was a plastic covering under the car that had broken off with damaging some of the bolts. They fixed my car and didn't charge me anything. What I thought was going to be a terrible ending to my day actually turned into a very pleasant interaction. They seem to really care about their customers, and will help you in a pinch. On account that I had two of my daughter's take there car here to sun devil auto which they charged one of my daughter's over 2000.00 to take it out after they supposedly fixed it, now it sits in my back yard. The employees are really nice, don't get me wrong, but I've brought my car here twice and each time something else goes wrong with my car. For example, I brought it in to have my brake lights and window motors fixed. My brake light went out again less than a week later and the window they fixed broke again about a month later. Also, the day I got my car back, it started doing this weird shaking thing on the highway that it never ever did before. They quoted me $700 to fix it which is sketchy because that wasn't an issue before. read more

Sent my brand new car to them for collision repair. Once it was finished with them, took it to the body shop. That body shop then informed me that Sun Devil Auto quoted my insurance for thousands in bogus charges. Turns out they left the cradle off the front end of my car, which I'm just now finding out with my little car knowledge, can be very dangerous. You shouldn't even be able to drive without a cradle. I don't like being swindled, even if my insurance is picking up the bill. If you're the same as me, don't go to Sun Devil Auto. Honest shops are a dime a dozen. UPDATE TO REVIEW: After trying to contact the district manager all day yesterday Jeremy the Shop manager decides to reach out, he takes responsibility for all the non existent communication on their end and decides to give me $100 off, while thats all good I tried to explain that I needed them to work with me on the 2 different tires that they put on without consulting me. His response: "NOPE! I have been perfectly kind and have taken a huge hit on this including a sensor that cost $300 that we had to replace that if you I wouldn't have caught you would've driven away and had a check engine light on!" I was super taken aback since previous conversation with Jeremey was pleasant and kind. this version of Jeremy was super rude, abrasive and to be honest VERY unprofessional. First of all, this was the first time I had ever heard of said sensor needing to be replaced because again (no communication) and then he acts like I am supposed to be THANKING him and super grateful he what? did HIS JOB? I also made them take their 2 tires back and I'll be going to discount tire to get the 2 SAME ONES ON...can't wait for better customer service at this point needless to say ill be going to a different auto shop other then sun Devil chandler in the future and telling everyone else to do the same! read more

Took my vehicle to this shop (southwest corner Chandler Blvd & McQueen in Chandler) for the first time this week. I am very discerning when it comes to maintenance on my older used vehicles, and always seek a shop that tries hard to be helpful, gives me the impression they are dealing fairly, and is reasonable in terms of costs. I've been doing this for over 40 years. This shop fit the bill very nicely. James and Daniel were very helpful and attentive. Good communication skills too. Already spoke to the district manager who claimed all he could do for me is give me a free oil change if I'll give them another chance. No thanks. I had to spend $260 on glass that would not have broken had I not taken it to Sun Devil, as well as have my vacation delayed, and he thinks a $70 oil change is a reasonable exchange? What a joke. Wow! I'm so impressed. By far the best automotive shop I have ever been to!! Everyone needs to bring there cars here. Jermey one of the managers was so polite and had all the answers to my questions and help me in every way possible. Don't even get me started with the mechanic there Michael Garmon. I took my car in because my air conditioner was blowing out of all the vents and my tire pressure light kept coming on they fixed the air and changed a sensor four days later the air was blowing in all the vents again I took my car back to them now they said it was something electrical they kept the car for two weeks barely communicating with me about what the problem was I went to pick up my car because they were not trying to fix it when I got it the tire pressure light was coming on again but the air was working fine when I called them back to talk to the manager he refused to refund me for the sensor he claimed the car has five other sensors on it I was a valued customer for a few years however I will never take my car to them again because they just car about getting your money then when you take the car back they will try to say it was something else I think the customer service I received for this incident was horrible read more

On Nov 7, I got the struts/shocks on my Prius replaced here and I was blown away by the customer service I received. You could call 1000 auto repair shops and not find friendlier guys answering the phones. Every time I take my car in, they explain what's needed and seem really kind and nice to people. For instance, I thought I lost my earpods in their parking lot. Instead of just looking around the counter, he took a couple minutes to search for them and reported to me that he checked the entire building/lot. They get it. It's all about customer service. I presented my confirmation and they still didn't honor it. I asked if they could squeeze my car in for service, they replied having 2 more appointments and were unable. I owned an auto repair shop many years ago, managed two over the years and I ran those shops with honesty and integrity. This shop is run the same way. I have been going here for eight years and I drive from Maricopa. I could not be happier. If I have a problem they get the car in and fixed. One time we had an ongoing problem and Jeremy made it right. That alone would have sold me but the good service, friendly staff and their honesty and integrity keep me going back. I tried several other shops before finding this Sun Devil. They were rip off joints. New vehicles are not like the old vehicles. Often one has to trouble shoot a situation until you find a problem. Once the problem is fixed they might find another problem. Usually this is not the fault of the mechanic. More problems might be found as the work progresses. Be glad they are looking for the problem. That is better than being broke down alongside a roadway on a hot day. read more

They give you one price, call back and give another and then try to get you to use their financing. It's crazy how auto shops try to rip people off. I called my insurance to have my front windshield fixed about 3wks ago and they have me a few companies to choose from and the one I chose was Sun Devil. I chose it because I'm aware of the company and some of the people who work for Sun Devil and know what it's all about. Good quality service. Frank came to my work and installed a windshield that already had a chip on the inside of the glass and did not properly seal the cowel. I call Art back who has poor phone etiquette and let him know and he says he can have frank come back out to replace the glass in 2 wks. Which I was fine as long as it gets fixed and done right. I bought my 2012 BMW less then a year ago so I want things put back the way he got it. When he came back the second time to replace the windshield he apologized and I accepted it and he replaced the glass and shows me from the outside that he sealed the cowel in place and then he left and I went back to work. Soooo time for me to go home from work and I get in the car and see the glue coming out from the sides of the windshield from the inside and the Panel on the inside of the car has black dirt/glue marks on it. So once again I'm in disbelief that Frank did such a sloppy job and now I have to call back to complain. I spoke with Art and told him what was going on and he says oh really and then says let me transfer you to someone and comes back and says he will have the person call me and I had to ask who it was I would be speaking to and I had to literally throw out Joel and Tom's name to get fast answers and also reminded him that I know all the calls are recorded and monitored by Dave. So Heather called me back who was very nice and who pleased me by letting me know she ordered the part and it would be replaced and apologized and I accepted. So Frank came back out last week Friday to replace the panel and we were done with each other. Now mind you my car is driven from work and home only. So today my husband who is a service writer and knows cars like the back of his hand (and he also recommended me to go to Sun Devil because he thought highly of the owners) he opens the hood of my car to check the oil because we are going to California and sees parts of my car from the second time the glass was replaced sitting on top of the engine and the spray nozzle front windshield is not attached pointing down I thought with all the apologies we were all good and I was not going to write a bad review because Heather made me happy but now I feel that there was hard feelings with Frank and he did this on purpose because he had to come back out. But, I was greeted nicely by a couple of helpful gentlemen, they told me everything I needed to know and they did tell me they would get it in there as soon as possible. They had a lot of clipboards there so yeah when it came my cars turn they zipped it in there and changed the oil and inspected everything and zipped it back out. They told me everything they done and were super friendly. If you look on their website you might find a coupon, I did!! This is an example of a stereotypical rip-off crooked mechanic establishment. Mind you, I'm not mechanically inclined and my knowledge on fixing cars is limited to changing a tire. Therefore, I require a high level of ethical behavior and trust in my mechanic. This is NOT the shop to go if your situation is even remotely like mine. A couple of months back, I brought my Toyota Highlander in with the primary complaint that the check engine light was on and I needed it fixed in order to pass emissions. $650 later they fixed my power steering (and seemed to do a good job, to which I give them credit) and provided an explanation that the check engine light were off for now, but that the vehicle needed about $1200 of additional work to permanently turn off the check engine light. This didn't make sense to me as the laundry list of alleged issues aren't ones that are typically involved in causing such lights to appear, according to my research and expert opinion from a mechanic friend. Sure enough, the light came on 2 days later, and since the vehicle was returned to me on a Friday, this made a trip to emissions impossible. Fed up, I eventually got smart and went to AutoZone; ironically the one located in the same complex off of McClintock. In less than 5 minutes, a friendly gentleman informed me that that the source of my check engine light appearing was 6 codes..... But, all 6 codes were for the same issue: The gas cap seal! $13.99 later, all codes were cleared and my vehicle was able to pass emissions. In summary, I will NEVER give SunDevil Auto my business again and will proactively inform as many individuals as possible about my experience. I feel that if you go in there as a single female (who happens to not have a prior knowledge of engines) they see a $$$'s over your head and lack the moral conscience to treat you ethically. read more

My first instance with them was for a tail light change. I went to them without prior appointment when the auto shop next to them asked me to leave the car or book an appointment. I went in and an elderly man addressed it. They took about 10min and fixed it and I was about to pay and the man said it's alright and I was surprised that he didn't charge me. I wanted to return the favor and took the car for an oil change and they have the cheapest oil change that I know of. After that the third time was for a bigger job. My car driver window was not working, the wipers were stuck and the backdoor was not opening from inside. For all of this they charged about $1200. When I collected the vehicle and went back the key fob was not working and I had to take it back in again. They reset it but again after a week it stopped working and had to lock the car manually. I was pregnant and couldn't take the car to get it checked. After I had the baby I called them and they asked to bring the car in and said if it's their fault they would do it for free. We took the vehicle and got to know that the switch was the prob, they fixed it for free and did a oil change too as a complimentary. I was definitely giving a one star review for all the trouble and not fixing it right the first time. But I thought through and realized no Other auto services would have done this. They would not have been kind and generous or fixed the prob after good 5 months. My only thing is hope they fix and do a 100%work the first time rather than doing it multiple times. read more

Have spent several thousand dollars with this Sun Devil Auto over the last six months. We recently took it in because the check engine light was on and my wife could smell something burning. Sun Devil auto diagnosed the problem as something that had previously been worked on by the dealership and was under warranty. They had quoted us over a thousand for this fix. We asked the gentlemen at the front desk to call the dealership for us because the dealer wanted to know exactly what part was bad which he did reluctantly. Sun Devil auto charged us $170 for a simple diagnostics. When we took it to the dealership they where helpful and replaced the part under warranty, but also let us know the serpentine belt was what was making the smell. Sun Devil had just over a month ago replaced our water pump that was connected to the serpentine belt. Being charged 170 dollars for a diagnostics and not even noticing this seems lazy and suspicious. We decided to not contact Sun Devil auto and just have the dealership fix the belt. Our trust in Sun Devil has been broken. First the 170 for a supposed free diagnostics and then not noticing conveniently the cause of the burning smell. Picture of what was missed below. Be careful we have spent lots of money to have them miss something that they had worked on recently. They literally had to take this belt off just over a month ago. These guys are great! I've used several repair shops in the east valley recently and this Sun Devil auto location was just awesome. I had some work done elsewhere on my truck that I wasn't comfortable with. I took it to Sun Devil for a full inspection. A repairman who has decades of experience driving trucks including diesels jumped in my truck and took a test drive with me in the passenger's seat. I'm a little new to driving trucks so he put my mind to rest by explaining the ride and handling characteristics, and suggested ways to improve the ride when not towing/hauling. He dropped me off at work, then took my truck back and performed a full diagnostic check. They only found two very small things wrong with my truck, that I honestly haven't looked into more, yet. The parts they needed were no longer available cause my truck is kinda older, so they couldn't offer to do these small repairs. But they still gave me several good ideas on how to locate these parts myself, and said they would install the parts if I could find them. Total cost for all this = $0.00. I'm going to be towing a lot and Sun Devil Auto gave me the assurance I need to tow with confidence. These guys seem really capable and honest - you need to give them a try. -Michael read more
