We are fortunate to have many excellent tire stores in Eureka, but these guys won my business, not only with their great staff, but also with their quality tires and services at a fair price. As a performance car geek, I'm overly anal about tires. I spent dozens of hours visiting many of the tire shops (including Costco) in our area, and researching their products online. Firestone Firehawks emerged as the best value for me. Firestone also offers services that other stores do not, which include alignments for a year, and a very generous 90 day tire guarantee! Well...my busted tire got replaced, which is what I came here for. However, I was left sitting in the waiting room for at least 30 minutes after my car was finished because they were trying to call me at a phone number that the guy checking me in wrote down wrong. At no point did anyone check the waiting room for me. I discovered all this when I finally got up after 90 min to ask how much longer my "less than an hour" tire replacement would be. When I asked why I had been left waiting after the work was finished, the only response I got from the guy scrolling through his phone at the desk was "well I just got back from lunch," without any acknowledgement of the inconvenience (let alone an apology). My low tire pressure gauge came on and it was Sunday. Being 250 miles away from home and 300 from destination, didn't want to risk a flat tire or other issues. Found this shop open. Joe was very kind and had the shop guy Adrian, check my tires. Whew, all OK and reset the gauge. Big shout out to these guys - I know it was busy and yet they helped me out right away. My daughter's car had brake issues and I had her bring it to Firestone the next day for repairs. I made the appointment online and for a Saturday. I spoke with Chris on the phone the next day and confirmed the appointment and let him know what was going on with the car. Chris was very professional and helpful. They were able to handle taking care of all of the issues with her car with no problem and for a very reasonable price. Chris was great about dealing with me regarding the technical issues and approval for costs and coordinating with my daughter about pick up etc. I will definitely go to these folks in the future for all of our vehicle repairs. Been going here for years. Just got reminded how great they are though. Chris always treats you right. Honest quotes. Called the Honda dealership and got a quote so I had it towed to them. Of course once it is there, the charges start racking up. An extra $70 for inspection when I told them what is wrong. Thank you Chris and Firestone. I will not make this mistake again. I was a little bummed out with my last experience. I've had great experiences there over the years dating all the way back to 2005. I've had alignments done, breaks, purchased probably 3 or 4 sets of fairly expensive mud terrain tires for my 2 diesels and wife's FJ as well as a recent 100k tune up on her FJ. All ended with great outcomes and service to where I would go back and support their business. (Besides putting two different colored front calipers on my wife's FJ.... that was kinda weird) My last experience ended a little more somber..... long story short I brought one of my trucks in there for its annual tire rotation, while it was there my wife thought she would surprise me with an oil change. I told her to hold off on that because I was still 2k short of needing to but I wouldn't mind a transmition service. So we went ahead with that at which I would regret. I get a call a little later from them saying my trans pan is missing a bolt and is stripped out and they cant do the job. Respectfully I understand and immediately get a hold of the prior shop who did the trans service to give them the heads up on the situation. Later in the day I go pick up my truck and head back to work. Curious, I crawl under the truck to see what bolt they were talking about. Bam! right front center in my view I can see what bolt is completely missing.... Kinda hard not to see that! which brings me to the final portion of this review. The prior evening I was under my truck wiping down the oil pan,lower transfer case draining my water fuel separator etc. I would have seen that missing bolt, the markings from the bolt head were clearly there, the inside threads were yeah, a little not normal but spotless, not a spec of dust, dirt, oil, nothing.... NOTHING....shiny spotless! I had two mechanics that I work with that have 45 years of experience look at it and they had the same opinion as me. later that evening I had another mechanic that is one of the top in our area come look and he to had the same verdict. This had just happened, that bolt Just came out..... But the mechanic at Firestone insisted he never touched it... impossible. Just tell the truth to your manager. Huge bummer for me righty tighty Lefty loosy don't use an impact gun.... I have lost all faith to bring any of my vehicles there for service work, purchasing tires, wheels etc. Chris seems like a nice guy and manager and has gone above and beyond for me before with tracking down a special lug key the same day, never pushes extra service on you etc but this one just rubs me wrong that a mechanic there would lie to the manger when a mistake is made expecting a customer to be blind on what their vehicle looks like. Moral of the story is its Firestone Tire ***NOT*** Firestone mechanic shop. Just own your mistake and reviews like this would never happen. I didn't want you guys to fix it, I'm going to pay another shop to do that. I just wanted the mechanic and manager to own up to the mistake that was made. I cant even begin to think of the other stuff that has came out of that place.... read more

I have been to this place a few times and finally concluded that they are not to be trusted. They say that they find leaks but over charge to run the chemical through the lines to figure out where it is coming from. I figured out on my own research that I needed new fuel injectors something I would have had to pay several hundred dollars for them to diagnose and then more to fix it. This shop was the only shop in which my car would not start and drove even shittier after it was in! They kept claiming they did not know what was wrong with my car and that certain things their shop would not do! They do not even do tire service justice let alone Advertising as COMPLETE AUTO CARE is absolute bull and false advertising! The final straw was about 6 months after purchasing new tires around 900 dollars and I go in for my warrentied tire rotation they say that my tread was under the warrentied coverage. BS because I checked it before I went in. I told that to the guy and he literally said, "yeah we probably could have done it." WTF?! This place overbooks, disrespects customers and they shirk on caring for your car. They like so many other automotive shops do the least amount of work possible and pull you through the ringer to collect your hard earned money. I'm so sick of repair shops taking advantage of people. just fix the damn car and don't overcharge. im sorry but mechanic shop managers do not deserve to be making so much esp if they can't even do their jobs correctly. We took our truck in to have the all the Spark plugs changed. They were really good in keeping their word on how long it would be. example They said that it would be done in 4 hours, then 4 hours later they gave my husband the call that it was complete. The price was a little high, we actually had the spark plugs in hand, hopefully it would've helped in the price. But because the spark plugs weren't purchased through Firestone we weren't able use them. But that was our doing not their's. At the end they were able to take a look at the whole truck and offered their recommendations on what needed to be fixed, also gave an estimate on how much it would cost if we decided to get it done there. Which again the price wasn't to bad. it was actually reasonable. They provided great customer service and their location is so perfect because it's closed to work and our house. So, it was an awesome experience! read more

Folk are very friendly, BUT their lifetime rotation and balance service takes for ever its a joke. I have about 40k on my present tires which they installed. so i have rotated my tires about 7 times now and It takes anywhere from 2-4 hours for them to rotate your tires. I go to any other tire shop and tires are rotated within 1 hr tops. This is a 15 min service that takes 4 hours at Firestone in Eureka. WHY???? read more

They try to make more money by printing out a report of all the things wrong with your car, but those repairs aren't even necessary and the repairs are totally overpriced. They are not reliable in their knowledge of vehicles. Once they said they found a nail in my tire but when I got it checked elsewhere there was no sign of the nail. The reason I've continued to go here is because of their cheaper special for an oil change, but this last time I made an appointment, the wait time was 1.5 hours and the cheaper price is not worth it for that much of a time commitment as well as the "problems" they say you have with the car. read more

It is never good. While the front desk puts on a good show, the shop is sloppy. Over fills, spills, you end up paying out the wazoo for stuff you really don't need and at an excessive $ amount and still not have the problem fixed. I keep a messy auto but they can at least wipe their greasy handprints off! I've had them leave their tools under my hood! They can't even balance a tire correctly! I loved the fact that they are open on weekends but I just can't trust them with my vehicle anymore for even the simplest of things. So sad! So long! read more

I was in a real bind with a rental car that had a bad tire -- the rental company would not pay for the replacement, though it was a replacement tire needed because the tire was previously repaired incorrectly and dangerously. I was far from home visiting my daughter who had just had a baby. The staff person at Firestone spent quite a bit of time on the phone with both the rental car company and my credit card company, explaining my dilemma and verifying the facts of the situation in order to correctly document that the fault in the tire had existed previous to my rental. He was cheerful, warm, and professional. It got the rental company to pay for the repair and I went through the rest of my day with a grateful heart. read more

Basically I think Firestone has good employees and does good work. For instance, good place to buy tires. However, they have certain policies which should be put on big banners so everyone sees them. Beware: if they are working on part of your cooling system with a problem, and they find anything else wrong with that system, they are "REQUIRED" TO FIX EVERYTHING. So I went in there to have a 27 year-old radiator replaced-quote over phone of around $400. Took car in. An hour later, the quote was up to $2100 (not kidding), because they found leak in water pump, etc. I asked what component I should do first and was told they had to do all or nothing. I chose nothing. And went elsewhere. It was all very stressful, as I didn't have $2100 at that point. Also, car barely running. So just be careful. A friend says he had similar situation. On the plus side, they did a thorough check of entire car, and now I know I need to watch front tires, water pump, thermostat, and brake fluid. read more

Went in to fix a leaky tire, the gauge in my car had come on. I asked them to diagnose and fix the leak as well as rotate the tires. They sprayed soapy water on the tire and said they found a leak in the shoulder that was not repairable. They also evaluated the tread on each tire and said the front tires were worn on the edges and not eligible for rotation. They gave me estimates for 4 tires in two different brands in different price points that sounded reasonable. I picked the car up and went to a different tire shop. They took the tire off and found a nail, repaired the tire and didn't find a problem with the shoulder. They also rotated my tires and said I probably have another 5 to 10k miles to go on them. When asked why they didn't remove my tire and find the nail, Firestone said the company doesn't allow them to go any further when they see bubbles. From that point the problem was diagnosed and a new tire was recommended. I was not a satisfied customer today. read more

I got a great deal on the best set of tires I've ever owned. They have been great about tire rotations and when I got a nail in my beautiful new tire they fixed it at no charge. The counter-persons were personable, knowledgeable and courteous. They stand behind what they sell and their no-frills business model means affordable prices. I brought my 2004 Hyundai in for a tire rotation, and after 30 minutes or so was told that the front ones were too worn to rotate, but--miracle of miracles!--they just happened to have some tires on sale: just $199 for the pair. This was relayed to me by _____, the "Manager of Tires and Sales", according to her business card. I was shocked by such bare-faced "upselling". Does someone driving an eleven-year-old Hyundai have that kind of money? No sale, _____. Go fishing for sales in richer waters. Appalling. read more
