AVOID this Firestone location. They are incompetent and lack integrity. My PREGNANT finance and I drove to Atlanta from Miami over the 4 day christmas weekend. We left on a Friday and returned on the following Monday. On the way north my car started making a noise followed by the engine smoking. I pulled off of the freeway at the next exit. The car NEVER over heated. The dial on the dash indicated a good temperature the entire time. I waited at a gas station for 10 minutes for the smoking to subside and then drove 15 minutes to a shop in Gainesville. They thought I was probably leaking coolant and told me told me to go to this firestone because they had the proper tools to do a pressure test. I got there at 6:40pm. They closed at 7pm. The man that helped me told me I would have to leave my car over night because they closed shortly but assured me they would look at it first thing in the morning when they opened at 7am. I booked a hotel. I called them shortly after 8am the next morning. I was told they were still diagnosing it. No call. We walked to the shop at 9am. They scrambled to give me an update. The car passed the pressure test and a block test. I was told I needed a new thermostat. The work in total would cost $369. Against my better judgment I gave them the okay to do the work. I was doubtful that was the proper fix since the car NEVER overheated. I told them at least twice the car never overheated according to the dial inside the car. I think they were reaching for a solution since they could find nothing wrong with the car. But they know better then me, and its better to be safe then sorry. I was told the work would take 2-3 hours. We walk back to the Hotel. Check out was Noon. We check out. My pregnant finance and I walk back to the shop with our luggage. They had NOT even started the work. The hood was still closed. Unacceptable. They had the car for almost 6 hours and did nothing. We took the car back out of frustration and drove the rest of the way to Atlanta. As soon as we started driving we noticed the AC was not working. We arrived after dark and only had one day to explore Atlanta. We drove back to Miami on the Monday. I took the car to my regular mechanic in Fort Lauderdale. There was no coolant leak and no need for a new thermostat. The AC compressor had cracked causing the noise and smoke I saw. If it were possible for me to give 0 I would. I will never let them touch my car again. I was charged for an alignment that was not completed. I took it to another mechanic to confirm this and stated this car has not been aligned in over a year and I have scans from both shops to prove it. I was told that it would be $14 dollars for a light bulb for my headlight and I was charged 49. Notes have been added to my profile that were not communicated to me. On the evening after the repair (I had rear shocks and the rear passenger wheel bearing replaced) I noticed my emergency break no longer worked and heard a loud clacking coming from the rear passenger wheel area. I took it back to Firestone the next morning where Tony/Jeff told me it was my spare tire being loose making the noise (I never heard the noise until I went to Firestone) and that somehow my emergency break line got stretched. Tony/Jeff offered to quote me a price to repair the emergency break Firestone messed up. He told me it's not a big deal because Florida is flat and I don't even need to use the break. So after having work done there I now have a failed emergency break and a loud clacking and will be going to corporate. I brought my car in and was told there must've been an issue because they don't have my appointment in their system. Instead of having customer service and saying "Don't worry, we'll get that taken care of for you anyways". Fastest car service I ever had! I rolled into the shop a little less than an hour before they closed for a walk in oil change and tire rotation. I expected to get turned away for my long overdue oil change but the staff graciously took my car in. If you love sarcastic and playful humor, seeing front desk staffer, Chris S. is a must! BEWARE!! Store is completely incompetent, wont take responsibility for their mistakes, and ripped me off twice. Shame on me for giving you that opportunity. I had my oil changed here last summer, using a $20 coupon. Ended up costing me $50 due to some "exceptions" to the coupon. Total bait and switch. Strike 1 on them, but for some reason I decided to give them another chance... My son took his 2012 Civic there this week to check out some loud noises and rough running problems. Cost him $800 to fix, and they had to keep it long because they broke something ELSE while trying to fix it. When he picked up the car, it ran smooth, but now the steering wheel that was perfectly fine before the repairs was now crooked. He took it back, and they said it probably happened when repairing the part that THEY broke. But they STILL charged him $60 to fix it because "an alignment check isn't included in the complimentary TOTAL car inspection, and it could have been that way before for all they know." Read that again... That's strike 2, Firestone. You won't get a chance for strike 3, and I will make sure no one else I know gives you their money either. STAY AWAY!! Friendly, nice theyre open on the weekends. Commission based. The garage gm tried to push several repairs on me. After I told him no, he tried to pushed a Firestone credit card on me. He continued to hock the card and repairs until the very end, even after raising my voice saying "NO". 2ndly, repairs they suggested were about 400 (parts and labor + tax). The part itself cost $14 dollars + shipping and the install takes 10 minuets using a 10 mm socket. I just DONT trust them now. read more

Dropped off my car here to have a crap ton of work done. I requested specifically what I wanted (just rattled off a bunch of things I haven't done and know I needed done) but the guy thought it might be too much and said they'll let me know what exactly my car needs. They were excellent with communication, called me throughout the day and did not start any work without my go-ahead and allowed me to decline services I did not want. Had my BF take his car here too and they were just as thorough and minimally pushy. To avoid long waits, just drop it off in the morning and pick it up later, maybe next day. Ever since I got my first car in freshman year, I would go back and forth between certain auto care places because of their prices. Yelp had high reviews of this location, although only a few, but I'm happy to say that they live up to the nearly 5 stars. It is my experience with Firestone and their staff that truly made my want to stay loyal to their business. I've been to this location on multiple occasions because my car is nearing 15 years old and has been needing some expected repairs. They have been really helpful with ensuring that I understand the repairs I need. The staff is to the point, while also super friendly and conversational at the same time. The main thing I appreciate about this location is that they have always stayed true to their estimated price quotes. This has made budgeting so much easier and makes me feel like their services are trustworthy. The only reason I give this location 4 stars is because the recent times I've went in for service, I've had to go back again because they didn't discuss with me the additional repairs I needed. For instance, they told me that my power steering fluid was leaking after I had already paid. And when I went in to repair the leak, I found out the my accelerator need to be replaced as well. I'll admit I may have been overwhelmed by their repair suggestions and may not have had the time to have all the repairs done at once. It just was a bit of a disappointment to find out that they could have fixed it earlier. Nonetheless, I highly recommend the services at Firestone. The staff maintains excellent communication with you in regards to diagnostics and when your vehicle is finished, both through phone and through e-mail. There was so many staff that helped me so far, that I can't name anyone specific (but I did in my surveys they sent me). I went here because I was having problems with a set of new tires that were still under warranty. After making me sit in the waiting area for two hours, listening to the desk jockey try to pitch every other person in the place on services they didn't need, it was my turn. John offered to swap out my defective tires for the generous price of $500! I declined the offer and went over to Tire Plus where they swapped them immediately out for free! Save yourself the hassle. They didn't say anything to me about using synthetic oil (my car always uses standard) and gave me no idea about the price ahead of time. Very long and detailed experience of the worst auto repair service! I had to tow my car late night Saturday and, new to the area, I decided to take my car to this location. Early Sunday morning I walked for about 25 minutes from home and made sure to get the car in line for them to work on it. I was there at 8:15am, they opened at 8:00am. I explained to them that my car just simply would not start and I needed them to fix that issue. There was only two technicians working and only one of them was able able to run a diagnostic. So I was told repeatedly Sunday that "they would get to it." Monday morning I happened to go by and noticed that my car was still siting in the same spot where it was dropped off. I immediately called and asked if there was a reason why my car had not been worked on yet. I was given another excuse and was told that they would do the diagnostic right away. At this moment, I began to get really frustrated with this people. After hanging up, 30 minutes later(literally), they called me back to say why my car wouldn't start. So basically they kept putting my car off for last and it only took them 30 minutes to figure out the problem. After making sure with the technician the exact problem to fix, they proceeded to replace a speed sensor part. Tuesday I get a call and now they're telling me that the car still won't start and they have to put my original part back. The man on the phone proceeded to argue with me to say that I knew there were other possible reasons why my car did not start. Now, I don't know anything about fixing cars but if you're the professional and you're telling me that the speed sensor needs to the replaced, I'm not going to question you. Needless to say, they're now telling me that it needs a timing belt replaced that's going to cost me $1200. After this, I was so furious!! I wanted my car out of there as soon as possible. I don't know why they handled this the way they did. Maybe they are just incompetent. Maybe they were just maybe lazy and not wanting to provide the right procedure to figure out what was wrong and fix it. Anyways, I had my car towed, once again, to a different shop. This new shop was able to properly diagnose and fix my car. And guess what? It wasn't even the timing belt!!!!!!!!! read more

We were promised the truck would be completed by close and it took an extra hour and a half past closing time! The guy was very visibly frustrated trying to balance the tires and kept dropping them. When he got inside the truck he dropped something but we didn't think anything of it until we got in and saw that he had broke our ceramic coaster. Malcolm the technician. He brought me to my car and showed me my oil leak problem and explained why previous mechanics gave me poor (and dangerous) advice. I will never go to that previous shop again. They were only masking the problem I had. Malcolm fixed my oil leak quickly and thoroughly. Please make sure the right supervisor sees this, and please make sure Malcolm gets a decent bonus or raise! It is so difficult, particularly as a young woman, to be treated with respect at a car-establishment. Often, mechanics or front-desk workers say vague statements like "we will take care of it, don't worry". Not Malcolm, he went above and beyond and showed excellence in customer service. He answered all questions and was sensitive to my financial concerns, being a college student. While understanding my concerns, he did not offer a "cheap fix" like other mechanics. Malcolm understands that my car is an investment and it should be taken care of as such. I will likely follow his expertise throughout my time in Gainesville, and I hope that he is a valued team member at Firestone. Thank you, again! I should also mention that EVERYONE in Firestone showed excellence in customer service and were trustworthy to me (I asked many questions, and everyone genuinely cared to address my questions thoroughly), Malcolm was my mechanic that day (1/13/15), so he answered many of my questions this visit.
