Really like Bill at this location. He has always been professional and friendly. Got a state inspection and was charged for a left signal bulb being replaced, which was expected. Was told about other things that probably needed done. Chose to do only one of them. What makes the bill more is labor. We've been taking our vehicles there for years. In one word- SWINDLERS. My usual mechanic doesn't install tires so I researched brands online and found firestone had the best deal and quality that I wanted. They were polite and installed the tires but told me I needed the ball joints fixed ($1000). I told them I'd take it to my mechanic and they told me there is nothing wrong. read more

I brought my Subaru WRX in for an inspection and tire rotation/balancing. It took a day and a half for them to complete this work. They took my car for a really rough joyride. Never bring your car here. 1.) Tires were worn far to the outside edges - more than I had ever worn them personally - and I drive spirited around the bends some times. The had to drift the car around a turn to do what I saw. 2.) Trip odometer had 17.4 miles on it when I dropped it off. I was averaging 27mpg. When I got it back, odometer read over 27 miles and 18.5 mpg. I don't know if they ever let off the throttle the whole time they took it out. 3.) They recorded 5 more miles on the car than it actually had when I dropped it off. Someone falsified paperwork in a really weak attempt to cover this up. 4.) I immediately walked back inside and asked why there were so many miles. At first he said that's not right and produced the false paperwork showing the extra miles. I produced a picture of the odometer that I took when I dropped the car off. He then made up some BS story about how they took it out twice and this was standard procedure. 5.) I was of course super surprised when my clutch started slipping a couple of days later. Those bastards toasted my clutch! Never bring your car here for service. read more

The guy at the desk asks me can you leave it overnight. What?!!! You kidding me. Then i keep waiting right there until its done. DONT DROP YOUR CAR AND GO, unless you need it the next day! read more

I will never EVER take my car here again. Firestone did not deliver the full service I requested, did not deliver the service on time, and gave me the wrong paperwork (for two other cars, no less!). What should have been an hour and a half service ended up taking two full days. Would not recommend. read more

They tried to charge me more than $100 for an oil change. I asked if they can make any discounts. The customer services manager's response was a direct no to me. I have never seen anything like that. I just left as I didn't want to spend all that money and wait for 2-3 hours just like the other customers. read more

I stopped in to get my state inspection. Bill was awesome! He promptly got my car logged into the system and was also able to accommodate an oil change and tire rotation while they did the state inspection. Since I didn't have an appt, I figured I would have a long wait, but I was wrong! Within 40 min I had my car completely serviced and a new state inspection sticker. I had a set of tires put on a couple of months back and have returned on 3-4 occasions for the free tire rotation. I made appointments each time and waited for the car during the rotation. They were prompt in getting me in and out each time. This demonstrates their commitment to "customer service" in my mind as I did not have any other services done. they get a 10 for their efforts. I have been a Firestone customer for over 10 years. I own a local construction company here in Richmond and we have a flee of vehicles. A few months ago I dropped off my personal vehicle, 2010 pontiac G6 to fix an oil leak. They diagnosed it and told me it was the gasket and oil pan, which I approved for them to replace. A week later, I found a large puddle of new fresh oil on my driveway and brought it back. They decide to replace the oil pan and gasket again. Less than a week later, I found another puddle of fresh new oil again...Then brought it back for them to fix. This keeps happening 2 more times before I decided to bring it another mechanic. They refused to fix the oil leak and also recommended me to take it to someone else to look at it. Manager stated that unless it's the gasket and oil pan, they will not be responsible for it. I'm not sure how Firestone can diagnose the repair wrong and won't fix it. That repair costed a lot of money and now I have to pay for them to repair the same leak? read more

I had my car towed to Firestone, thinking I needed a fuel pump or fuel filter as my car would not run. I got my car back in 8 hours with everything running correctly. I simply had a dead battery and a low fuel level and they took care of me and didn't take advantage of the situation. They got my car back up and running and didn't recommend any unnecessary work. My take aways from this location - They are so wrapped up in getting your money and trying to sell you things like add ons and credit cards that they DO NOT LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER. Also, every single part that I have seen the price that the location is charging has been at least 3 times the retail amount you would pay for it at Advance or Autozone. Industry standard is a 30% markup. They have gone above and beyond with their markup. I will not take my car to this location again unless I am in a major bind! My story, I had some issues with noise coming from my left side wheels and my check engine light was on. I advised all the information about what I was experiencing. I told the service person twice, during this visit, that I would be dropping my car off the next morning at 9am and I would be back in 4 days after taking a long weekend vacation. They had 4 days to repair my car. The next morning I received a call asking if I was dropping off the car. This was at 8:40am. I said I was on my way. Then I dropped the car and confirmed that they would check to see why the wheels were making noises. I was told that this would cost me an additional 55 dollars to diagnose. I confirmed it was ok. I leave the city and head to my destination. I get a call from the service person to tell me what they have found. I need new brakes so he tells me that the whole brake system needs to be done, a sensor has probably gone out on the cooling system, and an oil change. Ok, then he tells me it is going to cost 700+ dollars. I asked how much I was paying for the parts. He told me the sensor was 75 dollars, which set me off. This part is at an autoparts store for about 10 dollars. He then gives me the poo about they warranty their repairs for a year. I said well if I am paying 7 times the value of the part then I SHOULD be getting a warranty. I am not a consumer that just says "ok" when I am told some obsurd amount of money. The service person was getting frustrated with me because I couldn't understand why it was going to be so expensive. I told him fix the issues. Then I asked about the additional diagnosis fee that I paid and why he didn't mention it. He told me that the tech "drove my car around the parking lot" but didn't hear anything. This is when I got angry because I told the service person that the car needed to be taken out on Cox Rd. For some reason the wheels made a lot of noise on this road. He told me that Cox Rd was not an authorized route. I told him I was not going to pay 55 dollars for my car to be driven in the parking lot. That was ridiculous. So he said he would get with the technician. During this call I mentioned AGAIN that I was not in town and they had 4 days to fix the car. This ended the first call. I get a second call during my dinner and was told that I should get a ride home because my car is not ready. I told the person again, 3rd time for this particular guy, that I was not in town and they have the car for another 3 days. On the day that I am travelling back, I get a call to tell me it is ready. I was happy to hear this. I arrive at the Firestone, I get my bill, and I start home. The wheel noise was still present and louder then when I dropped it off. This is when I discover there is NO information on the receipt about the additional diagnosis that I requested and the sensor that I was told would need to be replaced was not on the receipt. The two reasons that I came into the place didn't have any info on it. I called as soon as I realized that this info was missing. (Like I didn't need it or something). I spoke to the technician that worked on my car. He was very nice and told me that the sensor was not bad but he replaced without charge (thanks!) and that the reason I was getting the check engine light is because my water temp was not registering within the instrument cluster. He said I needed to get a new cluster and it would stop showing the check engine light. The next day I came back into to telll them that the noise from my wheels was extremely loud now. I was told it would cost 500 more dollars to fix it. I just about lost my %H!T. read more

Overpriced thieves, save yourself the headache and do business elsewhere! Went to this location because I had two flat tires due to a roadside hazard. The tires were under warranty as to be replace at minimal charge ($28) however my back hub assembly was damaged by incorrect lug nuts being used with the spare. They charged $204 for the replacement hub plus 3.5 hours of labor for $385 grand total $657. They took full advantage of the situation plus 5 days to get the part/repair done to the vehicle which resulted in the lost of me as a customer who will never return to any Firestone location and write negative reviews on multiple internet sites available. The quote recieved from a practical mechanic after this turmoil $125 for the part $125 for the labor $250 is what I should have been charged. Perhaps the inflated cost was well worth indefinitely losing my business BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION! read more
