They finally started the repair at 1:15. At 3 the mechanic working on my car went to work on a different car. At 4 I decided to take my car and leave. I came in to get my oil changed & tires rotated.. They discovered 2 tires had a nail & porcupine quills in them & I agreed to buying 4 new tires & a front wheel alignment ,besides original request.. She told me they need d to get 2 of the tires from their Northampton store. I agreed to staying a little longer because..Northampton is only 30 minutes away.. This appointment started at 1pm.. It is now almost 4 pm & no tires..She said they may arrive in another 40 minutes.. I will be lucky if I get out of here at 5 pm.. This is totally unacceptable! My wife took her company car in for an oil change, tire rotation and new wiper blades and the car is a 2024 Chevy Equinox. I was driving the car on I-90 in heavy rain and the wiper blade came flying off into traffic due to improper installation. Firestone also broke the arm off the rear windshield wiper. Very poor wiper blade installation created a safety hazzard for me on the highway and the Manager never even bothered to return my phone call. I had the wheel alignment done for my newly bought 2021 Mazda CX. I bought "Lifetime Wheel Alignment." I have had this deal for my 2007 Kia and it's been very helpful, so I got the deal for my Mazda as well. I like this lifetime wheel alignment very much. I took my 2015 Honda Fit in to the Hadley, MA Firestone store to get an oil change. The vehicle has less than 10K--a gift from my very aging mother. Then, today, as I drove to work, I kept hearing a rubbing, scraping sound--similar to what you might hear if you ran over a tree branch and it was scratching the ground. I stopped and looked under the car and the front under cover engine splash guard was hanging down. I drove to my regular mechanic's place. The guard was hanging down loose and the hardware used to secure it was missing. Not broken. Just missing. There was ZERO evidence of any damage to the guard or underside of the car--like from a pothole or something. The Firestone mechanic had simply failed to replace and secure the splash guard when he changed my oil. NEVER again... read more

Tl:dr: came in with a working part, left with it broken, told it was normal I came in to plug a leaky tire, but I was told the tire was too worn to plug and I needed a replacement. Went ahead and had the tire replaced. In the days leading up to needing the tire replaced, I was filling the tire up frequently. I was aware the tire was low, because my tire sensor was indicating the tire was low. When I would fill the tire, the tire light would go away. After I had my tire replaced, I drove off and the tire light stayed on, indicating the tire was low (which wasn't the case) I scheduled an appointment for them to fix the issue. I came back 3 days later, and was told the tire sensor wasn't working and it needed to be replaced. They charged me $80 dollars for the part, and when I questioned why I was paying for the part that was working when I came into the shop, but broken when I left, they said this was a "common issue" when changing tires. Not so common that any tech would have thought to check the part before I left on Thursday, thus making me come back on Sunday, but common enough that they definitely didn't damage the part during replacement. We all make mistakes, taking 90 minutes out of my day for Firestone to fix their mistake was annoying, but understandable. To be charged to fix the issue they caused, and then told it was normal is less understandable. I won't be coming back to Firestone, and for others, I recommend going to a shop where entering with working parts, and leaving with broken ones isn't a "common issue" read more

They have always been helpful and never tried to sell me more than I asked for. When I didn't have my registration they troubled themselves to go online and print it out for me. Their hours make them super convenient for me who works 2 jobs and has a hard time fitting maintenance in. Waiting space could use some updating (plenty of outlets but no charging stations. I've never seen the tv being used. No courtesy coffee, vending machine or atm) but it's functional and relatively clean. I've never had to wait very long, so... there's that. Pricing has been reasonable. No gouging that I have noted. Highly recommend on weekends for inspections, oil change, tire, breaks, minor repair maintenance items. read more

Attention college students! Stay away. Our college student went in to have the rear brakes checked and after explaining to her that the previous brake job, which was probably 3 years prior, was done wrong. They wanted to fix all of it. Front and back to the tune of over $2K. I Told her to run out. Got a recommendation from a professor and went to a local mom and pop shop. Only needed rear brakes and it was a fraction of the price. Businesses like this that take advantage of young kids should be embarrassed and ashamed. Get a life. read more

I experienced over tightened lug nuts, broken studs and plenty of frustration trying to remove wheels Hadley Firestone put on. They ignored my instructions to use a torque wrench. If you're out of cell range and get a flat, you're screwed. This place is terrible. read more

A simple alignment. It took two days and two visits to be told they couldn't do a simple alignment. Over 2hrs of my time waisted because they could not perform a simple alignment. The dealer aligned my car two weeks ago. I have been traveling since then, but I noticed, while the car tracked straight, the steering wheel was crooked. That's a simple toe adjustment. While toe, camber and castor are interrelated, my castor is fixed (non adjustable), my camber is NOT affected by the toe angle with this front suspension, so only one adjustment was needed to straighten the wheel. The dealer was booked out two weeks, so I contacted Firestone on a Sunday because they were the only shop open. I am an automotive consultant. I work directly with cars (repairing, buying, selling), and dealerships, repair shops, and body shops. I know what my car needed and I told them. In return, I was treated with condescension and I was lied to. There is absolutely no reason Firestone can't do a simple toe alignment to straighten an off center steering wheel. I was told they absolutely could perform this service before I left on a week long trip. First, on Sunday, the alignment machine crashed. I was sent to another location. I had to wait until the next day for the new appointment. I was told it would be an hour for the service to be completed, which is reasonable. I waited. Over an hour. To be told they "could not" perform the alignment. At all. I was told "there are sensors on your car that make it impossible to align." This is false. Alignment is a mechanical process that neither triggers or requires sensors present in/on my vehicle. No electronic adjustments are needed in order to properly align my car. Even on their website, it states they can align this car even if I needed a full 4wheel alignment (pictures included). I have personally used the Laser Aligners they have there. I know the specs are in the data base. I know that the car won't be 100% in spec with camber because they don't weight the body per BMW ride height spec. None of that matters. Toe adjustment is possible without adjusting camber if you're only straightening a wheel on my vehicle. This was a waisted day and my steering wheel still isn't straight. Businesses run off of trust. I will never trust a Firestone again. If you choose to trust them, your mileage may vary. read more

I had gone on line n scheduled a tune up. It had to be rescheduled so I called the store to reschedule my TUNE UP. Went in the day of my appt because over the weekend I found out I needed 2 tires and an alignment. So I went in and mentioned I had a TUNE UP scheduled for noon. Wanted to see about adding tires and an alignment to my appt. I was told they wouldn't sell me 2 tires, they could only sell me 4 ($1100). I told them I would think about it until my appt later that day. Drive back to store for appt, the next guy checking me in says " oh you are getting 4 tires" I said no, just a tune up. This review is after multiple interactions with the Northampton branch. I brought my car in to have a general inspection to have them look over the car and see what's wrong with it. Dropped the car off, spent around three hours walking around downtown taking care of necessities and went back expecting my car to be finished, after three hours you would think vehicle I've been thoroughly looked through. I sat for another hour and 15 minutes for them to let me know what was wrong with my car. That's 4 1/2 hours to look at a vehicle and let me know if somethings wrong with it, I have never, had any shop take that long to diagnose the problem with vehicle. Against my better judgment I went back for a second time because they had a great deal on by four tires get a bit of savings. I brought my car down to have four new tires put on the vehicle that is it, dropped it off around 10 went to the gym for two hours, went grocery shopping and walked back and at 1:20 the car still wasn't finished. I ended up officially leaving around 1:50 PM- my car rims and tires were covered in the white substance that they used to apply new tires with to the rims. It was literally just smeared all over my tires and my rims and the manager there just goes oh I guess that's the paste. And just walks away- I spent much of my life growing up around shops as my father owned one when I was young, I know how long it takes to take a look at a car diagnose the problem put four tires on rims, it doesn't take this long. Why don't you hire some techs who know how to work in a timely fashion and who know how to finish a job without a mess. I will be sharing my experience with anyone who asks about your business. read more

Went for an oil change today, one of the few things I don't do for my vehicle since disposal of oil is a pain. After they pulled my car in, before they started the oil change; they said hey we should talk about your car. Then told me that I needed a tire rotation, and I said I just bought these tires less than a week ago why would I need that?? The guy said "oh I'll have to ask the technician about that." It was an obvious bullshit try at an up sell. I was hoping that they would be better than Jiffy Lube across the street, but they apparently employ the same tactics. Seems like they're just trying to get you to repair things that don't need repairing on your car. I was able to call the crap out because I knew my car, but some people don't and I bet they take a lot of advantage of them. Won't be going there again, I recommend y'all don't go there the first time. read more

They tell you how much it will cost, they will even use strategies to help you save money. They tell you what you just absolutely have to do today, and what can wait, and how much it will cost when you are ready. I would never go anyplace else. read more

Went in to get my car inspected. Was told there were 2 cars in front of me. I asked: "so itll be an hour or 1.5." He said "yes." I went for coffee and came back 1.25 hours later. Car hadn't been looked at yet; and the story changed drastically. "It could be an hour or 3. We don't know." And he refused to even try to find out how long it would be. After returning from a 1,500 mile road trip, I went in for my regular oil change and asked that my front tire be checked. It had gotten a deep gash horizontally across the tread, somewhere on my trip home. They changed my oil and reported that all four tires were fine. I looked at it again and went back to Firestone the next day to have someone else take a look. This person said that he wouldn't drive on it himself and scheduled an appointment for me two days later to have that tire and the other front one replaced and and alignment done. (i have been buying tires there for several years and have their road hazard insurance on the tires). When I arrived for my appointment it was busy and after standing at the counter for more than 20 minutes with no one acknowledging my presence, I asked one of the workers, as he passed by, if they were really busy. He replied which vehicle is yours, looking into the shop. I pointed to my vehicle in the parking lot. I said that I had an appointment for 20 minutes ago to have two new tires installed. He asked my name and looked in the computer and found my appointment, then said, " How were we supposed to know that you were here". I said. that since I had been standing at the counter for 20 minutes, I assumed that they would realize that I needed service. At that point He said they could take my vehicle in to it but I was so exasperated by his attitude that I left. . This was my third visit in four days- maybe they thought that I had started working there! I have made an appointment to have the work done at the Northampton Firestone- not as convenient but hopefully better service! read more

Ordered tires off Tirerack and had sent to this location as one of their "preferred installers" had an appointment for which I arrived early. Over 2 hours to install two tires on my GMC Sierra. They didn't care about the wait when I asked about time to finish the counter guy just shrugged his shoulder said "should be done soon". Definitely won't be back here. read more

This place is awful they tried to swindle me out of my money when I was just trying to get a state inspection they said that for a three lights that were out that it would be an extra 75$ I replaced them myself and it only cost 8$ for all three lights definitely never going here again read more

Went here to have my brakes replaced on my Honda. Was upsold on having parts on the assembly sandblasted clean. Cost me almost $1000 to have the job done. Less than a week later I took my car to get inspected and it failed because the parking and emergency brake were not working. According to the mechanic doing the inspection they never adjusted the new brakes to make sure they were working properly. When I called Firestone they argued with me that it was not their responsibility since it wasn't part of the overly expensive brake job and if I wanted to have it fixed I could make an appointment. I would not give them another dime of my hard earned money. They should have the courtesy to do this for free since it certainly wasn't safe letting the car leave the lot to begin with. I got some basic service done-- oil change, tire rotation, brake job, and they left a bad taste in my mouth. If this place were a restaurant, they'd be loudly advertising "99-CENT PASTRAMI SANDWICHES!!!" But the bill would be for about twelve bucks, and would show extra fees for bread, mustard, lettuce, and a plate, none of which are really optional. I went in for an advertised deal on an oil change, only to find out about an unadvertised "oil disposal" fee on top of the advertised price. (Does anyone bring in a car for an oil change without having to dispose of its old oil? Then why break out the separate fee?) When I saw I needed some rear brakes, I went ahead and got the work done. But the total price, and more importantly, how the job was priced out to make it appear initially cheaper than it really was, in fact, left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Almost a hundred bucks to bleed the brake lines? Again, nothing out of the ordinary for a brake job, so why charge extra unless it's to deceive? I will not be patronizing this place again, because it's fundamentally misleading about costs, even if they may satisfy all legal technicalities. I should have gone to a local repair shop with good reviews, but I let being in a rush influence my decision. You can do better. read more

Friendly but Careless Up until 3 months ago, I used to take my two cars to the Firestone in Hadley, MA. Although most of employee are friendly, but in several occasions I had to return my cars for second time to finish the job. In one incident, my garage floor was a mess after oil change and I was really lucky that my trip to Canada was planned for the afternoon. I was told there would be no charge to fix the problem! No apology no nothing. Also, the break job they did for me cost $150 more than the local competitors and I was charged for break inspection even though they ended up doing the job themselves! Anywhere else waive the inspection fee if they do the repair job. I have cancelled my Firestone card and have taken my business to other places. read more

I went to three famous car repair places in the Amherst-Hadley area who could not give an accurate diagnosis for my car's plethora of issues, had poorly repaired my car, had poorly changed out my tires, and to boot had put an incompatible part into my car. When I arrived, Firestone really stepped up to the plate. They were very professional, friendly, open and honest. I am recently out of grad school, and in June I had just started my first big job when my ancient car needed a lot of things replaced all at once. I drive everywhere to work in peoples' homes for the work that I do. It was devastating because I was also up for inspection. They knew that I didn't have the money or time right away, but they gave me as much help as possible over the span of two weeks. They waived a lot of fees because the cost of my repairs was going to be quite high. In addition they gave me a free (except for insurance) rental car for work when I needed it. Also when I ventured off into Hadley on foot during a 5 hour stretch of repairs, they personally came to pick me up and took me home out of courtesy. Firestone really did me a solid and didn't make me pay for anything unexpected or unreasonable, e.g. they replaced a very expensive part for free because I was already paying a lot and it just so happened that my car was so poorly made/warped that even the pipes ordered from the dealer didn't fit into my car's converter. I feel more comfortable going to these guys than anyone else after that experience and I have been recommending them to people since. My car has been running well since the repairs, and I appreciated the very welcoming and understanding service. read more

Had a flat tire. Was told it would be $20 for tire repair. But it turned out that they weren't able to repair it. Weird thing is that they didn't tell me why it couldn't be repaired, nor did they tell me what caused the flat in the first place. I was in such a bind that I didn't think much about that fact until after I paid $127 for new tire. Other than that, service was professional and customer service was friendly. I never post reviews but I've been in the same chair for over an hour and don't want people having to waste part of their day in a Firestone. Had an oil change for 10:30, showed up and they weren't that busy at all. Was about a half hour before my car was even brought in and it's been around 45 minutes since then, I don't understand how just a normal oil change can take so long. Haven't had a problem at any other car place or fire stones. Not happy with service either, would not recommend this place. read more

Every time they finish checking your oil, they come back at you for some sloppy seconds, telling you all kinds of other stuff that's broken in your car. I get that this is common practice for car places, trying to hustle some hard earned cash out of the unsuspecting citizens of Hadley, but what really prompted me to write this review was some new oil dye they were trying to sell me. They said I had a small oil leak to which I was like uh ok, I've parked on fresh snow and have not seen any leakage, but sure. They're trying to sell me some dye to put in my tank so they can see exactly where the leak is coming from for like $150. If it's really leaking, which it's not, how about I shove my head under my car and use my eyes to see where is leaking from, I don't need some stupid dye. But anyway as I was sitting there waiting for them to finish my car, I heard them try and sell the same thing to everyone else that came through. Is it possible that every single person had a small leak? Sure, but I'm gonna go with they're just trying to sell some new product to everyone, regardless of if they needed it. Anyway, I still give them 3 stars because they do a solid job. read more
