Having just had an oil change the previous week, I came in to have my snow tires put on and a general checkup done. Not only did they not do the checkup, but they gave me another oil change and then tried to convince me that there had been no indication of when it was next due. I was able to refute this and I got a refund, but I'm a little disappointed. I won't be back. read more

When I hit a bad pothole and developed some problems with my car, I was skeptical that this place could be as great as everyone I seemed to talk to said. My experience with the folks at Northampton Tire convinced me that their good reputation is definitely merited. The person I spoke to on the phone to make an appointment was friendly and professional as was Russ when I showed up Saturday morning with my car. Two hours after I left it I knew what was going on and was able to come pick it up. Not only were they up front about what was going on, but I felt good about getting back in my vehicle knowing that they had thoroughly checked things. While I'm certainly not looking for any car trouble, next time something comes up this is where I'll be taking my business! read more

When I brought my car there they said they would call me to let me know what the problem was and cost/ what not, which they never did. I wasn't happy about that as it was more expensive then I expected. Then when I got the car back it immediately had a new knocking sound coming from the front driver side wheel well. I brought it back and he acted like he didn't know what it was (the couple other mechanics I brought it to knew right away what it was). The way he was acting with me and the inability to look me in the eye seemed very shady. I even called him out on screwing with my car and said can you look me in the eye and tell me you didn't mess with my car. He just laughed and walked away. I think they're really shady. What can I NOT say that is great about this place. The staff is always friendly, fair and HONEST. Not only do I bring my personal vehicle but the company I work for now brings all of our fleet vehicles to this location. This is the place to take your car for repair. They know what they're doing and reasonably priced. They get the work done in the time period they say they will. They are helping me keep my old car on the road for another year. I had a problem with my tires loosing air, repeatedly, and had taken the car to two other shops in town without resolution. I've been bringing my car here since moving to town. My in-laws bring both their cars here, as we all love Russ, who works the front desk along with another guy (sorry I don't know his name). Prices are reasonable, Russ always listens carefully, and service is prompt. You can even get a ride somewhere if needed, and when Russ can dash out for a few minutes with you in the car. A funny story: once I went in with a funny smell coming from the fan and a rattling noise under the hood. I told Russ I didn't want to know if it had been a live animal in there. When I went into the office to pick up the car, he said, "Alvin is now missing one of his crew" rather than giving it to me straight, and we laughed for a long time. He didn't charge me for the dead chipmunk removal, either. My father-in-law witnessed the whole thing, and we suspect Russ was paid in laughs. read more

Been here 3 times in the past 6 months. They took very good care of my car and my girlfriends car. First visit was for a screw that ended up in my girlfriends tire and they replaced just one tire since it was on the sidewalk. They also noticed her car (she bought used) had 2 different brands of tires but managed to equalize everything for the time being and we replaced another tire before the winter. Just had them put on new all season from a recommended brand of theirs, they have done amazing in all conditions so far. Very friendly people and they will have repeat business from me as long as I'm in the area! read more

Saturday, for the first time ever, I replaced all 4 tires on my car with brand new tires. Sunday, for the first time ever, I randomly ran over something that blew one of them. I brought the tire back to the place I bought it (Northampton Tire) and, NOT for the first time, Russ and his crew repaired a part of my vehicle at no charge to me less a thank you. If you live in the Northampton, East Hampton, Holyoke, Springfield area and need work done on your car you should go there. That are great, honest, and fairly priced. Go there. read more

Great service, always punctual. I am confident that they balanced my tires and set everything up correctly. They also offer storage during the winter and summer months. We bought some excellent winter tires here and the price seemed about par with everywhere else. So not cheap but not expensive. read more

My husband brought his truck in and told them that he suspected a transmission issue. They said it was the transfer case and repaired that for $650. We were relieved, as a new transmission would probably mean he needed a new car. When the truck had the same issue after that repair they admitted that it was the transmission and one mechanic he spoke to let slip that the transfer case repair may have actually done the damage. Given this information initially we would not have done the repair, but unfortunately Northampton Tire refused to eat the cost of the unnecessary/ineffective transfer case repair, despite the fact that they had misdiagnosed the issue and therefore hadn't resolved the problem for the agreed-upon price. They ended up having his truck for two weeks, cornering him into a repair that probably wasn't financially wise, and the issue he was having with it when he brought it in...IS STILL HAPPENING. We will never bring another vehicle to this untrustworthy shop. You shouldn't either. read more
