My family and I were on a road trip and noticed that one end of a plastic flap toward the back of the card was dragging on the ground. I called and they told me to come by and they'd be happy to take a look. I was there about 5 minutes later. Within 1 minute of arriving, I was greeted, the car inspected, and they told me they'd take care of it for free. About 10 minutes later, I walked out with a fixed card and, true to their word, without having been charged. I'm very grateful...they are awesome and very friendly and professional! If you value your car, stay far, FAR away. I cannot reiterate that enough. So, here is my absolute horror story with Midas. Also, DO NOT let Jason up-sell you ANYTHING without a second opinion. My breaks are beginning to squeak. Not metal on metal grinding yet, just squeaking letting me know my pads need to be done. Cool.To be fair, it was awhile since I had any other work done to the brakes besides a change of pads. No biggie though right? Wrong. Terribly wrong when involving Midas. SO, they inspect the car, quote me, (WATCH the labor charges. They up charge you on this to make more money from you, as well as putting cheap parts from overseas in your vehicle, not OEM.) and I authorize the repair and we're off. I leave and not one week later, what do you know... squeaky brakes. Maybe there is a break in period? Maybe the pads are quietly squeaking to get over that new layer of material? I give them the benefit of the doubt and wait another week. Squeaking gets worse. Not happy and $800+ later... Oh no. I go back to Midas and we cannot duplicate the squeak, & I couldn't tell if the noise was coming from the front or back, but this shop is about a 30 minute drive from my house, out of the way, so why fib? They replace the rear pads. They show me the pads. They weren't worn down so it couldn't of been the culprit of the squeak but I leave and go home. That same night I take multiple videos of my brakes still squeaking and tweet them to Midas. They advise me to contact the shop "As the social media team that handles these accounts is not properly equipped to handle customer service issues." Okay. I go back a 3rd time and now frankly, I'm pissed. I call Midas Corporate, they advise me I'd be getting a call back & shortly after, I talk directly to the district manager, BOB, save his personal number, and find out only NOW they are installing "upgraded" parts on my car. Upgraded to them more than likely means standard anywhere else. I inquire to see the parts they're putting on my car, as the mechanic said the pads were "glazed." Glazed pads means cheap pads that cannot handle the heat your vehicle puts on them, thus creating a 'glazed layer.' In layman's terms, they put pads on my car, that were not rated for my car. It's like trying to stop a Dodge Ram Pickup with the same hardware as a Smart Fortwo. Carquest Wearever "platinum" pads with the "gold" rotors originally. They don't put the "platinum with platinum" to save themselves money in the end. Once that occurred, the conversation with the district manager, no more squeaks. They replaced all 4 pads and rotors with the right parts. Something that should have been down the first time. They replaced ALL 4 pads, rotors, and calipers with new parts and since then I've been fine. BUT it took 3 trips, a conversation with 2 or 3 different Corporate reps and a phone call from the district manager as well as a conversation with the manager to get it right. They have always shown me the reasons why things needed repair and I have learned to trust them. If there are coupons, they apply them readily, even if I don't bring them with me. My wife's SUV was making a rattling sound so she just stopped in on her way to work last week. George (owner) got her right into a bay to take a look. Turned out to only be a heat shield, but instead of melting a credit card for "labor" George smiled and said "have a wonderful day" and sent her on her way. I would recommend this Midas location solely based on the fact that they had the opportunity to take advantage of someone, but did the right thing and fixed something that took 30sec. to find and fix. More business need to be run like this. Midas Hadley might have a national name attached to it (smart guy for buying a franchise) but it's local employees that own and work there. First- get rid of the tall, loud, skinny guy who yells at his coworkers constantly and, frankly, speaks inappropriately to them. He's annoying as hell to listen to when waiting for your oil to get changed. More than once at this location, we've been second in line- but waited two hours for an oil change. With about 6-8 people in the repair bay, you'd think they could pump out more than one oil change every hour. read more

I just wanted to say that these guys are great. Fast, friendly, affordable, high quality, and most of all HONEST. I've been a few times with my aged car, and after doing my own "self diagnosis" through googling, they consistently repair the problem for a lot less than I expected because they know what they're doing (read: if I ask for a new alternator and only actually need a belt, then they just replace the belt and test the alternator just to be sure) They're the only place I call now, and wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone. read more

I am tempted to create a lawsuit against Midas because of this experience. I went in to replace my camshaft position sensor and they performed a diagnostic which detected there was a problem with the radiator as well. My step-father (who is also a mechanic) had the radiator and cap replaced prior to giving me the car just 2 weeks ago. However, he still ordered the parts and the technicians at Midas proceeded to royally screwed up. Because I have a Nissan Altima, the car needs to be bled before a radiator or any liquids can be put in. The techs at Midas didn't do their research and failed to bleed the car which resulted in the car overheating and the right gasket of my engine being blown. I cannot comprehend this level of oversight. I went in for maybe 2 hours worth of work and walked out without a car and about $3,000 worth of damage. This is appalling. The car was towed out of Midas on Monday by a trusted mechanic in the area and he confirmed this is what happened to the car and the Midas techs are basically incompetent. I am now without a car through no fault of my own and almost $5,000 in the hole because of the money I paid to Midas for basically totaling my car and the money I now have to pay a trusted mechanic to fix the damage that was done by this company and these employees. I would like to see some resolution or at the least a refund for the work that I paid Midas to do which was quite literally a joke that resulted in not having a car anymore. I am disgusted by the lack of customer service value or accountability. read more

I was hearing a rubbing noise the past couple of days coming from the front of my car. Every time I hit a bump or I turned my wheel, so I decided I needed to have someone take a look at it. I looked online to see where I could take it in a rush. I noticed the great reviews for Midas, so I headed over there. The place was hopping, and yet the guys there were soooo friendly and helpful. Jason first took my information, then Felix engaged me in conversation. They offered to take a look at my car and then in between helping an older woman with her tire change (with a discount...) and driving a Umass student to school, friendly Felix asked Zach to put my car on the lift and fix it. Which he did. In 5 minutes or less. And no charge. Just a friendly smile and a suggestion that we try their services in the future. I was super impressed with the open and friendly atmosphere and the professionalism they showed. I do plan to return and I will recommend them to others. read more

The owner, George is such a great guy. I drive an old clunker, and he is always willing to help me fix it within whatever price range I can afford at the time. While he's professional and not pushy, he's also a super friendly local who will talk about restaurants and upcoming events with you while you wait for your car. There's a lot of great deals here, from the buy 4 get one free oil change to the Midas credit card, and various warranties. This is definitely the mechanic to visit in the pioneer valley! read more

So My friend and I both brought our cars into Midas for different reasons. Older cars, mine's a 03 Jetta and my friend's is an 05 Chrysler 300. When I brought mine in for diagnostics, they found a whole shopping list worth of problems. They were very concerned that the my car was unsafe to drive, with repairs totaling to roughly 3 grand. I may be college student, but I'm also a skeptical consumer. So, I got more opinons from family owned auto repair shops in the area. Koch's Automotive in Greenfield looked further into the issue and discovered my first cylinder engine coil was bad, which led to misfiring, which led to the code which the Midas "professionals" told me was gonna cost me big. If I had let Midas do the repair (what they said was a bad Cat Converter), i would have spent a ton of money and the cat would have thrown a code as soon as my engine started misfiring again (because of the coil). So by shopping around I saved myself upwards of 2000 dollars, and a whole lot more trouble with these high sales pressuring, opportunistic sleaze balls. On a side note, my friend who brought the Chrysler 300 in had Midas make numerous repairs addressing what they thought the issue with his car was (faulty starter). When they finallly made their repairs, my friends car went right back to having the same problems. I'm sure these guys are qualified to make easy repairs. But they don't posess the know-how nor the motivation to truly help people find the root of the problem. Would never reccomend Midas to anyone unless you need an oil change. Even then they'll probably cause more harm than good. read more

Great experience! I know little about cars but Zach and Felix took the time to walk me through everything. I originally went in for front break pads and rotors because of their sale and because at my oil change at the Toyota dealership they told me they needed to be fixed ASAP(but wanted an arm and a leg.) I ended up getting my front brakes repaired as well as new tires. When Zach took the tires off for a brake inspection he noticed the wear of the tread/lack of thickness, he even took me to my car on the lift to see. These guys do great and honest work! About 2 weeks ago, pulling out of my driveway, the bottom of my car dragged across some hard snow. While it drove ok, it had a strange vibration each time I shifted gears. I stopped at this Midas as it was where my last oil change was done. Jason put my car on the lift and he and another coworker checked it out. I anxiously watched them going back and forth and kept imaginging a bill of several hundred dollars to repair whatever it was I had damaged. Finally Jason came out. He said I had bent a heat shield. I asked what it was going to cost and was so happy and suprised when he told me that not only had they already fixed it, there would be no charge! Totally made my day!! read more

Didn't even get the job done, sent me on the road, car broke down again, had to be towed to the dealer anyway. Manager kept lying to me about the price of the parts being cheaper than the ones from dealership, his attitude changed before taking my money and after. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I've always been skeptical and cautious going to a mechanic, especially a chain branch. Can't speak for every Midas, but this auto shop, by far, is the best auto shop I have ever been to. They didn't force any charges on me like some other places have, they simply informed me of my car's status and let me decide. On top of that, even after finding out I wanted to work on my car myself, they still took the time out of their day to explain to me what tools I would need, a good place to buy them from, and resources I could refer to, to get the job done myself. They weren't upset with me at all, they completely understood and actually seemed happy to help me even though I wasn't going to have my car serviced there. I'm sure we've all seen those YouTube videos or tv shows about mechanics ripping people off, well this place is above those kinds of establishments. They'll take you to you car, show you first hand what they see, and you can even go look things up online to see that they really aren't lying. They just tell it how it is, no BS, and like I said, they don't force you to pay anything more than what you originally agreed on and went there for. If you care about your car, this is a good place to take it. I'll definitely be back for small upgrades when I'm too tired to do it myself. read more

Felix and his men were very professional. They physically showed me exactly what was wrong, why it was happening, and what needed to be done. They offered to drive me back to my place if my car needed to stay through the weekend to be worked on. It was estimated 2.5 hour job and fortunately they got it down in an hour.
