Yes, I'm a fan of Firestone. But not just any Firestone, THIS ONE. My husband & I have tried various other Firestone's...ones closer & more convenient either to work or home - and each time we ask ourselves, "Why mess with a good thing?" The staff at this location are friendly and helpful. They are relatively accurate in telling you how long it will take to get to your car for an oil change, repair, whatever...and also how long the actual labor will take. You can also make an appointment, of course. And sometimes they can give you a courtesy ride back to work if it's nearby or come pick you up when your car is ready - but I don't think this service is always available so be sure to ask. And, like any mechanic, yes, they may find an additional problem or two while working on your car - BUT I can say this doesn't happen every time and they are very good about prioritizing any other issues they find when they explain it to you and let you know what can wait. I love this. Also, if you frequent Firestone, for goodness sake open a Firestone charge card! Here are the benefits: -It's ALWAYS AT LEAST 3 months interest free to pay off your balance and certain services are 6 months interest free! If you respect yourself and your money, you will NOT take your car to Firestone. My car had its check engine light come on, and they told me it would cost $5000 to fix the issue. I went to another auto shop that I trust, and they fixed the issue and charged me $200. Do NOT trust Firestone. They are nice, but they WILL overcharge you. read more

This is one of the worst Firestone's I've ever been too. I brought my 1998 Ford Explorer to them for an alignment and was told it was no issue. I get the call saying it's done and the manager tells me they couldn't adjust the camber or caster. Camber and caster are relatively simple on these and they claim to adjust it on their website. I had an appointment for 7am using the website. This appointment was marked as "confirmed" a week ago. No one showed up for work. I called customer service and they spent a half hour trying to figure out why no one was at work during the set work hours. I went to the Midas down the road. They were super friendly and were able to fit me in. Because I needed to wait due to not having an appointment with them one of the workers drove me 15 minutes to my house. I had an appointment on 10/31 at 8.00 AM (Booked 2 days+ ahead). Shop opening time is 8.00 AM. Open signed of the store lighted up on 7.15 AM, but the door was locked. I was checked in at 8.06 AM. Car was not pulled in until 9.01 AM. Car was sitting in garage until 10.00 AM before I inquired regarding the status on the car. Then I was notify car filter was not on order. They are waiting on filter. I was never notify or inform until I inquire. Car complete service until 10.49 AM. It took 3 hours for "Oil Change". Front desk person comes out for new customer, rest of the time - he will be in the back office. Bad customer service, no apology, no explanation, and bad hygienic for rest room and trash full from opening to I left. read more

This is an excellent store. The service is fantastic. We have had tires, brakes and small engine matters addressed in a timely, reasonably priced fashion. They are polite and honest. Sunday during the cvd19 crisis they provided emergency brake repair to our daughters to fix the work done improperly at a different garage. Five stars read more

Great service. Somehow, I got a nail in my tire and this place didn't have my tire in stock. They were able to put in an order and receive it the following day. I rarely give out such low reviews, but this place deserves one. I came in to simply get my oil changed. An hour later, they contact me and give a me a list of five things that are supposedly wrong with the car. Nothing appeared to be major. Yet each repair appeared to cost hundreds of dollars for a total of nearly $1500. Mostly it appeared this was for labor. But what really ruined the experience was that when I got my car back, it suddenly squeaked like a boat on a trailer. From a silent ride to sounding like a crappy old car. I can only imagine what they did to my car. Did imcompetently lift the car and damage it? Or was it something more insidious? At any rate, I am considering consulting a mechanic on the matter. But there is one thing for sure, there is no way on earth I will ever again let these guys near the car! read more

Effin' terrible! I dropped my car off at 8a came back at 3 p to pick it up. STILL NOT DONE! I didn't get my car back until 9:13p! They close at 7p. I set an appointment a day before and they gave me a time because I work and I got school i managed my time to get my car fixed and i was there early but they told me they can't fix my car because the guy is leaving in 10 minutes and they can reschedule like you don't have anything else to do in life. TOTAL & COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!! Today, this place charged my elderly mother $932 to (supposedly) fix her brakes - just her front brakes. When I questioned the manager about this overly high cost & informed him that i myself just had my front brakes repaired literally across the street from him for less than half that price, he just laughed it off. Further, he spoke to me like I was a 5 year old. I flat out asked if he was talking to me that way & trying to feed me his BS on their pricing because i was a woman & he had no comment. So Henry has "quit" from this location. Chris is now the store manager. He is very professional and made sure that we had an understanding of everything being done. I brought my car here to purchase 4 tires. Before that I called and asked when can they do it, they told me if I bring car right away it will take about an hour. Before i left the car i asked again and he told me 1 to 1.5 max. After 3 hours of waiting I asked and than he told me my car is ready. So I was going to pay when he told me the car is actually not ready and it still needs alignment. So I spent about 4 hours total waiting for my car like an idiot.....never again! Total price about $450. I don't understand, if they busy or overbooked they should tell me to bring the car in different day or time.....I have other things to do, can't waste 4 hours. read more

I purchased life time wheel alignment service for one of my cars and have been doing the alignment every 6 mo, or so. Last time I did the alignment, the guy at the service desk(I believe his name was Phil) told me that he couldn't print out the report that shows before/after measurement because they ran out of paper. But he said the alignment was fine when they checked. I suspected they did not do the job and took my car to another Firestone location at Golf Rd(Woodfield Mall) the following day. They did the service and provided the report, before/after graphics. According to the report, Firestone at Roselle Rd did not perform the service at all. They lied to me. There is no way the alignment can be that much off in one day. I have not even driven the car more than 5 miles between services. I would have been totally fine if they told me to come back some other time in case they were too busy. After all, they don't make any money once I already paid for the service. Instead, they lied. Auto mechanics are notorious for being dishonest. These Firestone guys at Roselle Rd top them all. I would stay away from Firestone at north Roselle Rd. Not sure about other locations, though. Next time you rotate tires, mark your tires before the service and check it out if tires were indeed rotated. I have caught so many mechanics either doing it wrong or not doing at all. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS. I used to be loyal to this store. Since Henry became manager, they are TERRIBLE! They now are misleading and outright lying. Talking to Henry is like trying to get the definition of "is" from Bill Clinton! Brought my car in to check the brakes. Of course they told me I needed new rotors and drums on the front. The back brakes were fine for over 10K miles. Drive home, the brakes are squeaking. That night I see my front driver's side hub cap is missing! Took it back next day. Henry tells me the squeaking is just the new pads being broke in. He also promised he would replace. Two days later, I take it back. Henry tells me they checked the brakes and all is fine. Then replaces only the hub plug, not the cover. Then he plays innocent that I misunderstood him! BS! He told me he would "take care of it" and call me back when the part comes in. Never called me back. Did not return my call. Next oil change (3,300 miles later) I bring it back today. Tell them the brakes are still squeaking. They call back telling me the rear brakes are worn down to the metal! WTF?! The guy tells me "a lot can happen in 3,000 miles". WTF?!! Terrible. Scammers. I will never again go back to this location. Liars! I have caught them red handed once when they charged me extra despite my tires being in warranty. Took it another Firestone and had them look into. Long story short I got my money back. I was stupid to take it back to them to have tires rotated and air filled in the tires. My car was in perfect condition except the tires needed air. Take it back home and realize the car is shaking when stopped. I knew right away these scammers are after my money and screwed something up on purpose. Took it back the next day and was informed that rotating the tires might have caused it but they will look into it. I get a call later saying your breaks and routers are all gone lol. I finally got around to writing this review.. I have been angry for some time because i got cheated by this place. A co- worker recently suggested i post my experience on Yelp. So here goes.. I got new tires (not from Firestone) in Dec 2012 on my old Camry. and this Firestone convinced me that buying a lifetime tire alignment would be a good idea. I paid up and they "did" the job. In March i went to the Firestone near Woodfield mall and asked them to do the alignment again since i got my new tires rotated after 3 months of use. However after keeping the car for an hour, he said the alignment couldn't be done unless i get a tie rod fixed and gave me a quote of about $700. Now i am not a car person. All i know is that the car was running fine as before, I had not had any incidents and the car was not even used for a month while I was out of the country in Jan. so what could have possibly changed in 3 months? After all, tie rods (or any rod for that matter) do not get bent without any reason on a perfectly running car!! So i went back to this Firestone and asked them to align the tires. He keeps it for 2 hours, then tells me something else (not tie rod) is wrong, hence the alignment cannot be done. I asked him If he was able to do the job the 1st time, why not now? He didn't give me a satisfactory answer, instead I now got a quote of almost $1000 to fix the issue. Furious, I took the car to Sears Auto center to get it checked. Indeed the alignment cannot be done, this time i was showed a broken spring. So the only conclusion is that I got ripped off in Dec when this Firestone center first suggested the alignment package. They knew the alignment couldn't be done if the car had so many issues, yet swindled me into getting a lifetime package. What a rip-off!! I know i've lost the money (~$180) but i hope this helps others who have older cars. Do not get the alignment package before getting the car checked by 2-3 mechanics, else they will rob you by neglecting to mention the problems in the car. After you've paid, if you show up to take advantage of the "lifetime" package, they'll give you an atrocious quote to fix stuff needed to get the job done. read more

I have been bringing my car to Firestone on Roselle in Hoffman Estates for several years. They always do a nice job and keep me informed about the progress. This time, I had a $10 off coupon but forgot to give it to them. The next day, I went back with it and they very graciously gave me a $10 credit. Together with the discount that I already had from using my Firestone credit card, I think that I paid less than $25 for both an oil change and an air filter. Thank you, Firestone! read more

Well I reinstalled the fittings to the radiator side trans cooling tank today and refilled the coolant. Just as I thought there were no leaks from the tank they said was 'ruptured'. Outright consumer fraud. Besides that they tossed the fittings on the trans side so I had to spend 32 bucks to replace them as well as the 34 bucks for all the coolant they purposely lost. Could have died due to this place's gross negligence. Had all new tires put on by this place a few weeks ago. Been hearing a really weird noise while driving the last couple weeks. Finally took it to where i Get oil changes and they inspected the car. They found a tire where firestone didn't tighten the lug nuts and my tire was about to fall off. I have a baby that I commute with. This is absolutely unacceptable and scary. Will not be back and will be contacting their leadership to address this matter. read more

Have been going to this location for several years now. Took my daughter's Jeep in yesterday for brakes, oil change and rear axle seals. Knew this all ahead of time. My daughter is in her second year of autos in high school. Was called and told they couldn't get the rear seals done because they need to be sent to a machine shop and the shop was closed for the weekend, ok no problem, just do the brakes and oil change. We can bring the Jeep back during the week. They call and tell me it's ready. Couldn't pick it up until the morning, Mother's Day, go pick it up get bill showing front and rear brakes both with rotors and oil change. In the way home my daughter noticed that they didn't change the window sticker. We get home she goes under and the oil filter hasn't been changed, pops the hood, oil is dark and low. Head back over talk to the store talk to service manager, Lance, tell him the oil was not changed. Kinda funny watching my daughter read him off about what wasn't done. Lance in turn talks to one of the techs, who has that deer in the headlights look, about the oil change he has no answer. Lance offers a refund or leave it for them to complete the work. Can't leave it right away go back and drop it off about an hour later. Lance offers to do a full synthetic oil change as compensation for not getting it done the first time. Haven't picked it up yet, will shortly. I know once we get it back she is checking the oil, oil filter and sticker. Already said she it taking it into shop at school and checking the brakes and rotors. I'll know by Tuesday if the rotors were changed. All the way back to the store and back home she was saying how can you mess up an oil change. Not sure what she might do if the rotors weren't changed. She already has said we need to find somewhere else for the seals. That was the reason we went to Firestone, the school doesn't have the tools for that, figured get everything done at once. This experience has me second guessing all the work I've had done at this location over the last few years. I'll post more once she checks the brakes. Checked the oil, oil filter and window sticker all look good. Hopefully they changed the filter, same color as the last one. I should have marked it so I would know. Visual check of brakes and rotors, all look new. Lance gave us the store managers card, Henry Linares, with a hand written one free oil change and his name on the back. I want to know if Henry has any other Firestone shops so if I decide to try them again I don't visit another of his locations. I know he can't be there all the time and watch everything but if you can't trust your employees to at least get the basics right you have problems.
