Either the store doesn't have enough staff, or the staff working today are moveing really really slow without any care or consideration for their customers time. After 3 hours sitting I was never given any update on the progress nor told what the issue was until I went up and asked. I got an oil change on Monday from a different company and Thursday my car kind of went on the fritz. I went to Firestone because it was so close by and my dad always tells me to go there because they are the best. Well it's COMPLETELY true! I have never walked into an Auto Care place and felt like I was actually taken care of. The manager, Matt, was not only helpful but super kind. Very disappointed. Don't go alone if you're a female they will try to take advantage of you by try to take your money due to have lack of knowledge about cars. I went to get a diagnostic test done and he told me $10 no biggie waited an hour and a half for them to tell me I needed a new alternator, new belts, new tires, a new battery and new breaks. Like seriously I went in there because I had one light on. And keep in mind I just came from discount tire so i know for a fact my tires were good. Anyway when it came time to pay he said $100 I told him I couldn't pay because he did not communicate that with me in beginning. If that was the case I would've went to autozone for same job for free. Then this man came out from the back super rude and was like here just take your keys and leave. My coworker called in and asked how much it would cost to recharge his A/C with refrigerant and the man who answered the phone quoted him $300-$400. After he told me about this conversation I was so shocked I called in just to see if that absurd price was actually legit or if it was someone just trying to take advantage of someone who didn't know better. I called and spoke with confidence about the recharge, and I was quoted $90. Which, is still steep for a 5 minute job that requires no expertise and refrigerant that shouldn't cost more $20 or so. I would strongly recommend everyone avoid this place. They clearly prey upon the vulnerable and the inexperienced. You're surely better off going anywhere else. read more

I've had hit-or-miss experiences with Firestone. But we have an account with them so it makes minor maintenance easy to get done there. This location is the best I've been in. When an appointment is made, my car is always ready on time or early. They always do a full inspection of my tires and other things when I get my oil changed. While this is something that SHOULD be done at every location, I've left others who didn't check pressure in my tires when I was also paying to have them balanced. I will only go back to this location from now on. read more

This firestone location is Full of S***!!! I have been in the fleet service business for over 25 years owning and operating full service automotive and truck repair facilities. My wife had a nail in a tire which was less than a week old and and in the center of the tread in a very accepted location for a patch. I stoped in because i had a little time to kill and figured i would go ahead and get the tire fixed. After over 2 hours i was told that due to the nail being in the tire they could not pull it out and install a patch. Only option was a $450.00 tire. I left without a new tire. I went to Discount Tire across the street and had the tire repaired at no charge!!! Avoid this Firestone location at all cost they are not a reputable repair facility!! read more

Came here because my car was wobbling last weekend. They kept the car for 7 hours was told that it needed a new brush but they couldn't fix the same day and to come back the next day to fix it. I went to this location on Saturday at 5pm and called before I came to check how many cars were ahead of me and was told to bring my car for break replacements as there was only 1 car in line. I got there and was told by Eddie to leave my car overnight or come back the next day. There weren't in cars in the bay and I was irritated because they didn't close until 7pm The next day I got there and Eddie changed the price while quoting me I walked out and will pay to get the service elsewhere. This shop is the worst I've ever dealt with. I went with my girlfriend so we could both get oil changes on our cars, however the mechanics and the guys up front didn't know we were together. Once they finished with my girlfriends car, they told her they need to "flush her brake fluid" because it's "dangerously dirty." I stood up and told the guy that's not possible because her car has less than 50K and brake fluid doesn't just become dangerously dirty unless the line over heats. All the sudden the story changed, he said that it's just a "recommended precaution" and of course he would change the story when realized her boyfriend was present. I asked him to show me the test they did; so I went outside with the dipping stick test and did it myself. The test is color coded and each color hue has a number associated with it. The safe - clean level was numbered at 0-50 and 50-100 for semi clean and still very safe. The color had to read above 200 to even be considered "needing attention" and over 300 to be consider dangerous. Her brake fluid tested at 30, meaning really really clean. The look on the guys face when he saw that color show clean was epic and almost scary because he knew that he was caught. The mechanic working on her oil had then come to the front and then said she had a nail in one of her new tires. Well I waited to write this review until we confirmed with Discount Tire today, NO nail in her tire. One last important thing to share is the "courtesy report" document they gave her. The mechanic had circled 300 on the break fluid test, when it tested under 50. This place is shady, dirty, and should be shut down. I highly recommend never going here, ever! read more

My experience here was horrible. I paid 40 for an oil change and they lost my power steering cap. They said it must have fallen off? I dont think so! The thing screws on like a pill bottle. I went to buy a new one at the dealer for another 40 bucks only to have my next oil change guys find the old cap wedged down in the engine! Thanks firestone! Also, I dropped my car of there at 11. They didn't call me til 4!!!! And THEN, I waited 20 minutes in a line with 2 people in it while the only dummy working the counter changed out paper on his circa 1988 dot matrix printer. OK, as a woman, I dread having to have work done on my car. I have no idea whether I am getting real information that I need or just paying for a bunch of stuff that is unnecessary. I have been taking my car to Firestone for several years and, for the most part, I trust them to be straight with me. Today I took my car in for new tires. Ugh...never fun. However these guys made it as painless as possible. I picked out my tires and made an appointment online. I got to the store a few minutes before they opened and they went ahead and opened up for me. It took about and hour and a half for them to complete the work during which time they came out every half hour to give me and update on their progress and how much longer it would be. I was entitled to a free oil change with my tire purchase that I didn't need, so they gave me a business card to bring back saying that I could get the oil change when I needed it. The manager also reduced the price of my tires by $70 so that I could get the lifetime tire rotation and wheel alignment for free. Like most places now they run the "free" systems check and make recommendations for other work that they think is necessary. The nice thing is that they just hand you a sheet of paper with the recommendations and you are free to bring your car back for the work if you decide to. No pressure. read more

Because I need to get my vehicle inspected before getting it registered, I decided to go to Firestone because I know their reputation. The first Firestone shop that I went to on Westheimer did not have operable equipment to do the inspection. However, the person there had excellent customer service skills and pointed me in the direction of this Firestone. I was able to get my inspection as well as replacement windshield wipers and was on my way in under an hour. I'll be back for an oil change in a month or two. read more

If anyone needs any repairs or work done to your vehicle ask for JP. The nicest employee I have ever encountered when doing business with Firestone. My boyfriend had taken my vehicle to this location to have my headlight repaired. After one week of it working, the bulb burned out again. Upon taking it back is when the sales associate told me it was my fault because they recommended another service in order for it to not burn out in the future. My boyfriend explained to me that there was no communication about an extra part. The sales associate at the front was more worried about up-selling what she recommending me but once I declined there was no use for me anymore. She basically laughed saying that I can have the headlight fixed no extra charge but it's just going to burn out again without this extra part. At that point JP stepped in and took his time to make sure I understood what was wrong with my vehicle and to ensure that he would take care of me. There are many ways to shut down engine light...for 2 days, but they are careless and did it again instead of being honest. Case is in corporate office and BBB. This is a ZERO STAR review (or negative stars, if possible!!!). ***ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE AND NON-EXISTENT HOSPITALITY EVER. This Firestone location SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!! *** Meaghan Goodrich (the "manager") and her front office people are absolutely dishonest and crooked. Please, please, please ***DO NOT EVER GO HERE*** -- I would even service my car myself rather than go to this hellish car place. Heck, I'd even rather be ripped off by the dealership 3x than waste an ENTIRE day AND deal with the TRASHIEST attitude at this place. We dropped off our vehicle to get the brakes serviced at her shop in the morning. She was all smiles and said we would get a call by lunchtime. At 4:30 pm, after being lied to that the car would be ready at 5:30, she lies straight to our face that she tried reaching us 3 times. However, on our cell phone, there was only 1 call at 2 PM. However, we apologized about that and were told that the car would be ready at 6:30 PM, so she'd call us. When we get there AGAIN, at 6:50 PM, the car is up with the mechanics. We never received the call at 6:30, and unlike Meaghan told us, my Dad only received ONE call from them at 2:30 PM about the vehicle. Whereas, she and her henchman, Seth, told us that they tried reaching us 3 times. There is no record of that on our cell phone. Regarding this, an OUTLANDISHLY RUDE Firestone worker at the front named Seth, verbally misbehaved with me and my mother by arguing with us about the "miscommunication" and how it was our fault. He wouldn't let it die, accept anything, or just professionally end the conversation. Then when my father called him on the phone, he again got very angry and argued with him and shut the phone down. DISGUSTING & VERY, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Other customers were going through the same thing with this person, apparently all day. Another customer told us she had tried to get a new battery, and Seth told her that they had tried calling, but they received no record of this. Seth had the mechanics install the battery and try charging them for it, even though these customers were not notified. ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST! The mechanic, Luis, seemed to be a really nice guy, who I offered to tip, but wouldn't accept. I've been a long time Firestone customer and my expectations are ALWAYS exceeded! Most recently I dealt with Matt the store manager. From the moment he greeted me Matt was professional personable and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable dealing with him and I could tell he was genuinely listening to my issues. This was confirmed when I called back later the same day to cancel an appointment for the next morning and told him I found a tire cheaper elsewhere. He wished me luck and even told me to have a safe trip to Austin! He remembered that small detail which was great customer service. Well grass isn't always greener on the other side because the "cheaper" tire at the "other" place turned out to be a fiasco and I ended up coming back to Firestone!! Matt was glad to see me back and wasn't cocky or all I told you so about it LOL! He promptly got my car to the back to get repaired and everything was business as usual! I normally don't write negative reviews - I know that everyone has a bad day and that everyone makes a mistake here or there... but they botched my visit so badly, I felt it was necessary to share my story and warn other would-be patrons of this shop. I was very nice the entire time I was there (3 hours). I spoke clearly and left no ambiguity as to what I wanted. I had a good rapport with everyone I spoke to while I was there and everyone was all smiles. I never came off as grumpy or difficult. Furthermore, I called twice before I arrived to make sure they could do the work - they had my work ticket waiting for me when I arrived. And even after all that planning, communicating, and coddling, they were unable to do the work that I had paid for. I asked them to do three things. Oil change, tire balance (with no rotation), and a State Safety Inspection. Unbelievably, they messed up all three. Oil Change - In my GMC truck, there is an oil life indicator in the dash. For some reason they decided to change the language setting in my truck to something other than English. I spent a few minutes trying to figure out where the language setting was while I was flipping through the settings in a language I didn't understand. It is unclear if they actually changed the oil. State Safety Inspection - When I asked them to do the inspection, I asked them to take great care in making sure the sticker on the windshield was on straight. Not only was the sticker not put on straight, but in removing the old sticker they cut up and marred my registration sticker. This may not be important to most, but I specifically asked to make great care and now I have to drive around with two eye sores in my windshield. Tire spin-balance (and no rotation) - When I took the truck in, I had two new tires on the rear of the vehicle. (New tires always go on and stay on the back to prevent over steer.) I had a vibration problem I was trying to solve with the new tires I had installed, and made it clear that the tires were not to be rotated - only balanced. Upon receiving my truck, the driver side tires were swapped - so they did a 1/2 rotation on my tires. I don't know what they were thinking - were they doing or not doing the rotation? Either way, it was done wrong. Upon asking to them to fix their mistake I was told that "it would take a while" and after waiting 45mins for them to correct their problem I decided to check on the progress - and I found that my truck hadn't even been touched. I promptly asked for my truck back and decided that I'd do it myself. Upon attempting to rotate the tires myself at home, I found that the lug nuts had been tightened to the point where I couldn't get them off with two different wrenches. Clearly, they didn't use a torque-wrench to tighten them to the spec'ed torque settings of 100ft-lbs. Heaven forbid if I were to get a flat and try to change a tire - I would have been left stranded. Ultimately, I had to take my truck to another shop, pay another $50, to correct the 1/2 tire rotation and have them loosen all the nuts and retighten them correctly. Don't be mislead by the slick waiting room and seemly qualified people at the counter - the work is done in the back, and its clear they do not operate in a professional manner nor do they respect their customers time or their vehicles. There are many other shops out there - this is not the one you're looking for. read more

This place is crappy. Went here on a Sunday because nothing else was open and my car was making a very strange noise. Of course they had to run a test ($22) to see what was wrong. Then they called us with a whole list of things that were wrong ($600). Then when we went to pick it up, there was stuff broken! And they blamed it on the fact that it was broken when it came in! This store repaired a wheel/tire issue on a brand new car. A week later, a locking lug nut was missing on one of the wheels they "maintenanced." They suggested the locking lug nut "fell off" after a burnout at the drag strip. Are these guys idiots? A lug nut that is properly torqued doesn't just "fall off." Jose, the manager at this store, said they would replace the locking lug nut. This was the beginning of many excuses on their part as to why they could not track down the proper equipment. I made several trips to the store (on the third one, they put a "replacement" non-locking lug nut on the wheel) and many phone calls over the course of a month before finally driving to an Austin Firestone store where my cousin works. He called and spoke to Jose, without telling Jose we were related, and Jose said that he had told "that guy" they couldn't find the lug nuts. When my cousin told Jose we were related, the incompetent manager's tone changed. I went and picked up the lug nuts from Dodge (funny that one simple phone call solved the issue and got me my lug nuts) and will be refunded my money by the Voss Rd Firestone today. If I don't get my money back for the lug nuts I had to buy, I will be back on Yelp. These guys either don't give a crap or thought I would give up and replace the lug nuts myself. I would not recommend this store to anyone. My cousin said they over-charged me for labor and sold me on crap I didn't need. The best thing they have going for them at the Voss Rd Firestone is the hot blonde who works the counter. read more

"I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business" - Harvey Firestone How unfortunate that this Firestone does not subscribe to that philosophy. My bad experience with them came to a head recently after bringing my Jeep Wrangler to them for a recurring oil leak. The recurring oil leak supposedly had been fixed last fall when they charged my extended warranty company $700+ (plus my $100 deductible) to replace my oil pan and gasket. 6 weeks later, it was leaking oil again. Of course, they fixed it at no charge to me, but it did cost me time and effort to leave the vehicle there for a day and a half for the repair to be made. While there, they diagnosed a water pump leak, which would require a replacement water pump to fix (approx. $300 not covered by warranty, as warranty was barely expired by then). I paid out of pocket and got the new water pump last September (or possibly October). Fast forward to March 2014: I took my Jeep to another location for an oil change. I was told there was only 1.5 quarts of oil in it. It was leaking again. Back to Firestone I went, where I was promptly told their replacement oil pan and gasket was leaking and that I would get a new one, again, no charge. But I also had a leak in the timing cover gasket, which would be my expense ($400+), since it wasn't part of the original repair and hence not covered under their guaranty. Oh, and by the way, the water pump that was installed last fall brand new, is also leaking. So, now I have an oil pan and gasket on its third repair by this Firestone as well as a new water pump installed less than 5,000 miles and six months earlier that is not operating properly. I was told I would need to wait until Monday so that they could get the parts from Jeep directly this time for the replacement. I did. I picked up the vehicle, opting to wait to have the timing chain gasket replaced @ $400+. They gave me a receipt, which included the words "replace oil pan and gasket" and "replace water pump". I then got a second opinion on the timing cover gasket. Why have Firestone attempt to fix it if I would only need to return repeatedly to have it fixed, just as they had to do with the other repairs made? The new mechanic originally advised me that my Timing Cover Gasket was not leaking and that my "new water pump" was not actually new. It was likely the one installed last fall with a new seal job on it. A seal job that failed miserably and was leaking water less than a week later. After a call to the store manager, Danny Soto, and the Corporate Customer Service #, I was able to get Danny and his lead technician to go and take a look at it at the other facility. It was agreed that my (not) new water pump was leaking and they would cover the cost for the other mechanic to replace it: $311.45. My timing cover gasket was, in fact leaking, and would be my responsibility to pay for the repair. Fair enough. Danny promised me that when I brought him the receipt and the old water pump, he would cut me a check for the reimbursement. We all agreed this was an acceptable resolution. This morning, I texted Danny that I would be picking up my jeep and would bring him the Old water pump and receipt. I asked if I would get a check when I arrived with those items. He confirmed, "Yes", since I would now be out $311.45. I was surprised to find that he left the store right after we texted and left no instructions for the asst manager, Yolanda. There I was with my receipt and used water pump, out $311.45 and no check was waiting for me. Yolanda told me that Danny doesn't have checks there. Ok, can I get a refund to my debit card? Nope, computer doesn't work that way. She suggested I leave and try back another time when Danny was there. That wasnt what I had been promised. I texted Danny, who then phoned Yolanda and instructed her to hand me cash from the drawer. All fine and great, except that there was not enough cash on hand in the store to cover my repairs. I then stood there while she counted out $250.00 in one's ($50 worth!), and other small bills. Ghetto much?? I am left still holding the bag for $60.11 in repairs that Firestone owes me for faulty repair work, that essentially looks like fraud to me. When I get a receipt back for work done on March 4 that says "new water pump" and then everyone agrees that it's not a new water pump, more like it was new in September but re-sealed in March, that is a LIE, otherwise known as FRAUD. I went back and forth in my head about writing a bad review on social media. I ultimately decided I would not do it, since Danny agreed to pay for the replacement of the water pump at my new mechanic and the dispute process seemed to run so smoothly. However, when I texted him this morning and he agreed to pay me when I arrived, I trusted him to keep his word. Instead he dodged me. His last text: "the rest you will get in a day or 2". I started going thru Firestone when I first changed my serpentine belt. I later went for a subsequent visit and purchased their lifetime alignment after I purchased new tires. I alternated between this location and the one by Memorial City Mall. I had no issues with the Voss location till I took my car in for state inspection. The moment I got inside my car I noticed a strong chemical odor. I looked down and to my dismay my left passenger trim on the driver side was in worse condition than before. It looked like someone wiped it off and took the finish of my steel carbon trim and also left my panel next to the trim hazy. I just do not recognize the part at all. I spoke to the person working the front desk and made light of the situation that it was wear and tear. But his answer was not satisfactory to me, so he summoned Danny the manager. Danny told me the same thing that it was wear and tear and I just stood out there dumfounded. I knew there was something wrong. He told me to come back 30min later because an employee of his drives the same make and model of Acura TL. So to the entire inspection took from 12:27-1:43PM to be completed and was not able to return at that time due to work. So the next day my boyfriend took me to this location with the similar complained and he saw the manager Danny. They listened to him more than they did with me. We had to take the Acura because I believed that part was not my original part and inquired if that part can be taken out and put back in and the tech told us that that part could be taken out in less than 2 minutes. We went back to Firestone but off course Danny was gone for the day. Another tech came and saw the car and he communicated with Danny over the phone and informed us that they will be replacing that part. Will update on how this unfolds. read more

I like Firestone but not this location, was going to overcharge to replace one headlight ($122) bc you have to go under the wheelwell, supposedly. A proper mechanic would know removing two bolts and a handful of screws would easily give access from under the hood( not $100 worth of labor).
