I gave them my warranty information. 24 hours later I called for a status check. They claimed the repair hadn't been approved. I tried to call warranty office myself but it was closed because on PT. Lo and behold Firestone called back minutes later and said it was approved while the office was closed. Which means they didn't do the repair on a timely basis. I asked when I could pick it up. Only then did they tell me they didn't have the tire in stock. They said they'd get it Monday. This was now Saturday and I had to drive back to Chicago on Sunday. I told them I couldn't wait until Monday. I then proceeded to call every open repair shop in the Kalamazoo area and none had the tire I needed. Some were closed because it was Saturday. I called back Firestone and asked if it was drivable. They said yes it was a slow leak. I picked up my car and drove it back to Chicago on Sunday nervous the whole way and stopping several times to look at the tire. read more

After ordering the wrong part twice, it took them a full 2 weeks to fix my window, and the best part? They never changed my oil and lied to me about it. So I called ahead and asked if they had the equipment to do an alignment on my 2019 Tesla model 3 LR. They asked the manager and told me yes they can do it. So i book an appointment for 11:30am i show up and hand them my key and wait 45 min for them to finally pull my car in at 12:15 only to have the tech come in to ask if my car has autonomous driving. I tell them yes and now the manager is saying they can't do the alignment on it because of the autopilot. Wasted my time I even drove 30min to this place. I definitely wish I would have looked at reviews and ratings prior to choosing to use Firestone for my new tires. The ratings online are 100% accurately reviewed and if I could I would have given zero stars. I went to the W Main location for a new tire appointment. We were there for about 3 hours WITH an appointment which seemed awful excessive as I've owned many vehicles and NEVER waited 3 hours for 4 new tires. But that's not the worst of it!! Fast forward one year. After paying over $1200 for new tires, I thought I was good for a couple of years. Nope, within a year my two front tires were worn to NO TREAD. I was not even at half of the mileage warranty on these tires and both were evenly worn, across the tire, all the way around. NEVER has this happened before. I'm not young, I've owned many vehicles some I didn't even rotate brand new tires on and NEVER have I ever had tires wear like this so quickly and they were not cheap! I made another appointment at this same location and was told to arrive 15min early for an inspection. I arrived at 8:40am. I waited and waited, people came in upset while I was waiting saying they dropped their vehicle off yesterday and why is it outside and not ready (this was around 10am). I watched employee's stand around and talk, it took 3 people standing and staring at the underside of a car talking instead of 1 person fixing it. I knew at that point I was going to be sitting for hours. Around 11:45, Ilario, the same man that put the tires on a year ago came out and told me that there was nothing they could do because my control arms made the tires wear out. I could not believe what I was hearing after sitting for 3 hours waiting for a fix, I get nothing. He then says I have to pay full price for new tires, which a year later are now MORE EXPENSIVE than what I originally paid. He proposed I give them another $2800 to replace the control arms and tires and I need to do it now. NO OTHER OPTIONS, no prorating the tires, nothing.. I requested to have my vehicle back so I could go for a 2nd opinion and he walked away. I then waited until 12:30, ABOUT AN HOUR, when I had to corner another employee as there was no one in the front office area where we were all waiting for at least an hour. I asked this gentleman to please check me out, yes you have that right, after all of this waiting for an inspection and receiving that news, I still had to pay for the inspection, and finally was driving home by 1pm. During the next month I had my vehicle inspected by two different vehicle repair shops and BOTH SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CONTROL ARMS AND THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. No issues under the car, tires were evenly worn all the way across and around. To make this worse, during this timeframe, I went off-roading into a yard while traveling due to hydroplaning during a rain storm. That same day I went and purchased two new tires that were installed in less than an hour at our local repair shop as I was not placing children in the vehicle at that point. Another $480 towards tires. I then decided to call the corporate number because I'd had enough. At some point, isn't Firestone responsible for customer satisfaction? Do they care enough to at least reimburse me for the tread measurement. NOPE! I spent two hours on the phone, the Bridgestone warranty representative was amazing and I should have called sooner. He said there was no way that guy at Firestone shouldn't have replaced those tires. He said they should have contacted the warranty department, and at worst case, prorated for measurements. However, since I already had them replaced due to safety reasons, there was nothing he could do. I then spoke with a customer service representative who was also amazing over the phone. She indicated that the DISTRICT MANAGER would call me back. GUESS WHAT?!?! Guess who called, not the district manager, it was the same guy that I had been dealing with at that W Main location this entire time. AFTER ALL OF THIS - ALL OF THE MONEY THEY TOOK - THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH COMMON COURTESTY TO FOLLOW THROUGH AND HAVE A DISTRICT MANAGER CALL ME BACK!!!!!! I'm done with Firestone. This is ridiculous and I am telling everyone I know about this issue and seriously suggesting they do not go here, no matter the location because it's no longer about money paid, they have no concern for your safety either! read more

We had an emergency tire plug after visiting the city's museum. It was a 20 minute job, tops, but my husband and I were kept there for over 4 1/2 hours. Yes, they were busy and short-staffed, but we also noticed a lot of standing around talking. I saw one guy take nearly an hour to change a battery. Ours was an emergency...we were on the beginning of a 100 mile trip home, and we're senior citizens in need of our medications. [also heavy snow was predicted to start falling]. While Glen was personable, he had no clue as how to prioritize his workers. We could have been slipped in-between other jobs as it was just a plug in the tire. One woman we talked to had been there since 9 AM, and it wasn't until 5 or so they told her they didn't have her part! To prove how super-simple this task was, it was only a $30,96 total! read more

This my second time here. I came here to have a tire replaced, and changing engine oil too. The service took about an hour and it was good. And the cost for those services were around $50. The shop inside was well prepared for social distance and clean. The only issue was the employee at the front desk, he was kind of grumpy. read more

This saddens me to have to write this review but after talking to a worker today I just feel the need. I had a scheduled oil change, brake inspection, and rotation for Friday, dropping my car off around 1240pm, they were extremely busy. Anyways, my car wasn't done in time for me to make it to my evening plans and so I told them I would pick it up Saturday morning. I had a Meijer bag of 3T pjs (that had the sensor tag on it still) for my nephews xmas present in the back seat underneath bags to then go to Meijer after the oil change. I get there this morning and the Meijer bag was missing. I asked one of the workers there about this and he tried to say that someone must've broken into my car. There is no damage to my car and you can't unlock the car from the inside without having to hit the unlock button which is underneath my ignition. I just find it hard to believe someone was able to break into my car. Unless it was parked over night and left unlocked, which is irresponsible on them still. We went there without an appointment, and they were busy, but the staff was very friendly, and the service was excellent. went down to fire stone auto care on West Main, about two months ago to have my ABS/brake inspection checked fire stone technicians checked it out they said that the brakes were new and that there was nothing wrong with the ABS brakes, ABS brakes light was still on, when I pick the vehicle up, two months later brakes went out took it back down to fire stone to see what the problem was on 9/12/22 , Why I don't know I thought after their first mistake they would make it right. Long story short they took another look at it, came back out 20 minutes later and said your frame is rotted out and we can't put it on the hoist, but two months earlier and a cost of 150 bucks they did the brake inspection not mentioning anything about the frame, Took it down to auto brake repair on Drake and got the brake line repaired, no wonder fire stone review is at 2.8 read more

My daughter had a flat driving down Westmain. She pulled into their shop that was open,and they wouldn't help at all. The only way they would help was is she bought a new 200 dollar tire. What had happened was she had run over a large nail and only needed a plug. What a joke this place is. I've had tires plugged there in the past. So they left my daughter and two year old granddaughter standing. WTH is this world coming to. Between my wife ,daughters and I we have 7 cars and most of us drive for a living. I got a flat tire in Coloma Michigan while driving from Chicago to Detroit. To make a long story short I ended up at this Firestone. Even though I would have much rather not gotten a flat tire and ended up here I ended up having a great experience. Apparently my car has an unusual size tire that they did not have in stock. They called around the area and found literally the last tire of its size in the area. They sent Holly to go pick it up (she was beyond nice and friendly.) I got my front brakes replaced (brake pads, calipers, rotors) at this location and they did a full vehicle inspection as well. After I left, there was a grinding noise when I braked at speeds between 20-30mph that was not there before I took it to Firestone. I brought the car back, and they told me a piece of hardware was "misadjusted" and supposedly fixed it. The grinding noise was still occurring after I drove away. I took it to the other Firestone location (on Westnedge) and the man there said that they inspected the car and that nothing was wrong. He also stated that he couldn't hear a grinding noise, even though I had taken a video of the grinding noise that same day. He told me that there was probably residue on the new brake pads and it should go away within 25 miles of driving. However, I drove the car for about 75 more miles and the grinding noise was still occurring. I took the car to a different, clearly more knowledgeable mechanic who found out that Firestone had stripped the lug bolts on the rear wheels when they were doing the full vehicle inspection and that both rear wheels were loose, and the rear brakes needed adjusting. The fact that I brought this car to two different Firestones three separate times without any mechanic noticing or fixing this simple issue just speaks to their lack of quality. I would not go here unless you want to also spend hours bringing your car back just to hear them insist nothing is wrong. read more

I had just got back into town from a long road trip for work the day prior to having my car serviced here. I went to get into my car, started it up, and saw that the tire pressure light was on. I had just purchased tires from firestone at most two months ago so I stopped in at this location to see what was up. The gentleman I dealt with, Mark, was awesome to deal with considering I didn't have an appointment. I explained that I had a long road trip coming up this week for work and he first checked my tires and found that there was one with a nail in it and unfortunately it could not be fixed. Mark made sure to take care of the car himself - going above and beyond in my opinion. I am beyond grateful that he made sure my tire was changed and fixed. I had taken my car to this Firestone on multiple occasions for oil changes, which all seemed to go well. My car then began having more serious issues so I brought it in again. The quote they gave me was for almost $2000 in repairs. My brother is a mechanic but he lives over an hour away, so I decided to get the most pressing issues taken care of. $900 later, the issue was still not even close to resolved. I then brought my car to my brother, who informed me that the parts that had been "replaced" were actually old and most likely original to my car. The next day I proceeded to call Firestone, but they would not work with me at all. I find it very off-putting that not only did they lie about repairs, but they wouldn't even acknowledge the mistake. To say the least, I would not recommend this Firestone to anyone. read more

Unfortunately, I will not be going back to this Firestone and would not recommend it to anyone that has to get more work done than an oil change. I brought my car here yesterday morning due to a loud engine thinking it was my muffler rusting out from this past Michigan winter with salt, sleet, and snow. Around noon, I have a missed call from a Kalamazoo area code with no voicemail so I called back thinking it was Firestone, yet I thought it was weird they didn't leave me a voicemail. Moving forward, they were telling me that there was a hole in my converter along with my muffler and they would basically need replace the whole exhaust system along with the converter. They quoted me for a replacement of the catalytic converter, exhaust pipe, muffler, exhaust clamp, exhaust insulator, spring and bolts, resonator and pipe assembly and what have you. Basically the whole thing. With that being said, the total came out to be $2,162. So of course, I picked my car up to get a second opinion. After taking it to another shop, within 15 minutes, the mechanic comes in and says "Just be glad it's not your converter and just your muffler!" And I proceeded to show him the quote that Firestone gave me. I'm not sure if the employees at Firestone were trying to scam me out of money because I'm a younger girl, but my quote at the other place was $650, and then they brought it down to $250 after I realized that I've had my muffler replaced once before at the same shop back in illinois. I also ended up getting a military discount and the total I paid was $225. Again, it seems like Firestone was just trying to overcharge and scam me out of a lot of money, and for someone who doesn't know a whole lot about cars, these employees have lost my customer trust and I will not be going back here. read more

I wouldn't recommend coming here. I came here for tires. I thought it's a trustful name. Mistakingly had a oil change done. They tightin the filter too tight I had oil coming out all over my engine!!! I have a Audi I had no oil leaks I'm still trying to resolve this issue! Without much luck. The guys were very friendly when our car was towed into their station, and they broke the news that our engine was dead. To our disadvantage, my husband and I know nothing about cars. Instead of trying to explain the situation in layman's terms, (I felt) that they took advantage of the situation. One of the mechanics 'offered' to 'help' us with the disposal of the car. No mention parts might be worth around $500. A more honest approach might be an offer to split the amount. In the end, we had the car picked up by a salvage company and made $550. It's unfortunate that Firestone in Kalamazoo fits the stereotype often associated with mechanics-- read the customer and benefit from their lack of knowledge. read more

I have been to Firestone before, actually the one in Portage, and my experience there was completely different to the one I had the pleasure of having today. Before I even brought my car to the facility, I had placed a call briefly giving an overview of what I was told was causing my check engine light to come on. Whomever I spoke to on the phone was very nice and told me to just as soon as I can bring my vehicle in and they will take a look. After rushing to get their facility I was greeted (using that term VERY loosely) by a man named Mark. He was very rude and not accommodating and barely took the time to here what the scenario was. He gave nothing short of a crap attitude and made me feel as if bring my car without an appointment was such a extreme inconvenience. Mind you, I previously called the same morning. Then when the service was about to be cashed out, I asked if it was truly my spark plugs. Again, with eminence attitude, told me that he doesn't know and that if it wasn't that I will have to take it somewhere else. Honestly, next time I will have go to every extreme possible to avoid coming here. Terrible customer service and crap attitudes from the person at the service desk. Good luck to anyone who comes here. Happy to know that if the problem with my car isn't fixed that I should follow his suggestion and take it elsewhere. This was my first experience with Firestone on West Main in Kalamazoo. I was asked by my son and to assist in a matter with this Firestone Store. Understanding the issue with the car, I offered to drive over there and talk with them. The car had been there two weeks earlier and had over $900.00 of work done. The day after the repairs the coolant drained and the vehicle overheated. Since they did a flush I immediately thought it was something they did. The person I talked to was so rude and continued to make up things as to what the problem was, that I became frustrated and asked that they not touch the vehicle again. In addition, Rob, was the most obnoxious person I have ever dealt with. He would say one thing and then say he did not say it. Not one person there could get the story straight. I felt as if they were making it all up just so they would not take the blame. It was absolutely ridiculous. The funniest part, was as I was talking to him the other employees were nodding in agreement with what I was saying. I do not think Rob was very well respected by his team. I anyone there had the experience in dealing with customer's they would have slowly talked to me, reviewed the account and been nice about. Instead it was confrontational from the beginning. It is too bad that not one person there was skilled enough to deal with the problem. They had no idea of what the problem really was or why. So, now the vehicle will be towed to another mechanic that will determine what is wrong. Would not ever recommend any person ever go to this business. In fact, I was told to leave by Rob. my journey starts on the Firestone complete auto care sore on westnedge. I bought a Battery from them on tuesday january 12. On wednesday january 13 i went back to there store and tried to buy a set of 4 tires from them. they did not have the ones i wanted but said the West Main st. location did. I drove out there and had my the tires i wanted installed. while they were putting them on They gave me their complimentary vehicle inspection. after the inspection they informed me that my battery reading low. I told them I just bought it the day before from the westnedge ave store. A firestone complete auto care store just like them. Instead of taking care of my new battery with a 3 year replacement warranty. they sent me out the door and told me to go back to the other store where i bought it. They could have fixed it but chose not to. OK whatever. next day i went back to the store i bought the battery from and without checking or even looking at the battery they said that the west main store did not know what they were talking about and your battery is fine. Is It?? who knows because firestone won't check it or take care of the problem for me. they got there money so they just don't care. day 5.. Saturday. I have an appointment with the interstate battery store on stadium dr to have my battery replaced. so i have a $160.00 battery that is no good and i am about to spend another $100 to have it replaced..THANKS FIRESTONE!!! read more

Very disappointed with my experience at this Firestone location. I had $1300 worth of work done on my brakes and after they screeched each time I stopped. I then made an appointment to have them checked out, I showed up to the appointment and was told that they were backed up and wouldn't be able to take my car into the shop for four hours. I rescheduled and brought my car back in to have the pads replaced. The screeching stopped, but the next day the brake fluid light was on. I then took my car back in, there wasn't an available mechanic so I asked if I could be called when they could fit me in that evening (I told them I lived very close to the shop and could be there in two minutes). The staff member told me if my car wasn't there when there was an available staff member then I wouldn't be seen. I'm feeling very frustrated with my experience and here and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Went to the Firestone on S Westnedge because the car was making a funny noise. After they checked it, they said it was a normal noise and it was fine. The noise continued to get worse through Saturday, so instead I took it to the Firestone on W Main and I got a call on Sunday. Ken informed me that it was an extremely loose tire. Thank you Ken, Rick and the team at the Firestone on West Main in Kalamazoo. I went here to get new set tires the both wheels in the front were damaged, over-torqued, there was clear evidence of stud damage and you could see in the see shreds metal in the wheel. I took it back there to get fixed the repair was done lazily like the previous job and the customer service was terrible. I would not recommend going here. My experience here was terrible. My rear disc brakes were stuck on full after I had changed the pads on the front brakes. So I was thinking I just needed Firestone to bleed the brakes and open the rears back up. So I brought it up there to have them do an ESTIMATE. I left my vehicle with them. Hours had gone by and I decided to call to see what my estimate was or an ETA on it. The employee who answered the phone said "yep it should be ready in about 20 mins. they're just finishing up the last part" I said WHAT??? installing parts?? "He said yea we repaired the back brakes. your calipers were ceased".. Unbelievable. I had never gave them to the go ahead to do the install. Plus I wasn't 100% convinced their diagnosis was even correct. So now I was stuck paying whatever they decided to charge. It was crazy high too for two disc brakes. I don't even want to mention what it was since its embarrassing what I had to pay this place. At the time I was college student on a very tight budget and the staff was very rude on working with me to come up with the funds to pay it. On top of it they never gave me my old parts back to even check if their diagnosis was true. And they put extremely cheap calipers on that didn't even cover the entire rotor. I was prob getting about half the braking power compared to my originals with their cheap crap. Never AGAIN will I ever go here or to another Firestone. read more
