Granted it took 4 hours to look for the problem with my cooling fan. But it was worth the wait. Technician Ricky explained what he was doing & why it was taking so long. He couldn't find the problem. My cooling fan worked fine. In fact he ran my air conditioning & it was 40 degrees. It never got hot at all. When I called spoke to Advisor Amber she did say upfront it would take couple hours. She also gave me landmarks to look for their location such as Fire station & Times. In fact, they share the parking lot with both places. It was worth the time & it saved me money. Needed to have a tire purchased & installed. Price quoted over the phone was $86. Come time to check in I get a print out quote for $90. Saw a fee for scrap tire recycling fee $4.12. Told guy @ the counter that I wanted the old tire so put it in the trunk. So upon picking up my car the charge was still $90 & the old tire was in the trunk. I was like how can you charge me a disposal recycling fee when I'm taking the old tire with me? Sales person said that's just how it is! What's happening to honest businesses now days? Worst customer service ever!!! Even worst than Lex Brodies. I have a life time alignment that I paid extra for and these guys would not honor their own deal. One of the reps was snapping at my wife bringing her to tears. Then he calls me to tell me I need to buy 3 new tires, than they call back and say we just need 2 new tires. Then finally they tell my wife we need 1 new tire. In they end we wasted our time and money on a lifetime alignment that they did not honor in Kaneohe, and refused to service our car unless we bought their tires. The only reason we were taking it in is because we recently had real mechanics service our car. I just had our inner/outer tie rods replaced and the ball joints. Firestone were not even nice about trying to con us out of money, they were using scare tactics pretty much telling us we will die if we dont buy their tires today using an angry condescending tones. These guys are horrible and refuse to work on cars way too often. Got to real mechanics to get your work done. These guys are over priced and kind of snobby. read more

I got my 2 tires changed for our van and the service was quick except for the part where I had to wait for my tire to be delivered. But that was ok since I was off that day and have time to wait and eat some delicious poke at Times. I wish they had a table in the waiting room and the tv stand is to tall for the tv. Everything else is good, the technicians, service managers and the cashiers are all great workers! People I know y'all get mad waiting for your cars to be fixed and they take so long and it's a waste of your day. But hay if you can do it faster and do multiple cars at once then you better do it yourself. One technician is usually working on multiple cars on a busy day to make every customer happy. So just chill and you will get your car serviced on as fast as possible. I'd recommend technician Jordan or Jon since Jordan is a master tech and Jon is as good and they know what they are doing. So if your car need to do a big job on it if request either of them. Tech Ano is very fast in tires if you request him to do your tires. Tech's Bryce, Cody and Tyson are all good techs and equal in speed. read more

At first I gave these guys 5 stars for fixing a flat on a Friday early evening when no one else could...and having 15" tires when they're hard to find. But upon driving home, my car pulled heavily to the right. After that we had a solid week of very heavy rain and I had not driven. I called and they said to bring it back in but I had to wait two weeks. When I brought it back in, they rotated the tires for me for free as a 'fix'. BUT, the mechanic broke my hood latch and DENIED it. I had JUST checked the fluids that morning and cleaned up the drivers side before bringing it in as it still had the Lex Brodie paper on the seat and floor (I tried there first but they never got to me so I left and went to Firestone who saw me right away). So I KNEW there was no broken hood latch on the floor of the drivers seat! He lied, when all he had to do was say, SORRY, I pulled it too hard and it broke. But he denied it, and the manager made it like I WAS AT FAULT but he, in being such a good business, would pay for the part to repair it (they didn't offer to do the labor). So here I go, driving home unable to open the hood at all now....(still pulls...)got the part and found the cable was broken as well. The mechanic who helped me (on MCBH base self-help) stated it had to have been pulled 'AWFULLY HARD" to break the cable as well as the latch. The parts were $50.00 and the manager was not there to repay me the day he told me to come in and then for 4 (yes, FOUR) more trips. Then finally someone BOTHERED (thanks! Girl with the purple hair!:) to call him at home and get permission to refund the part. WASTED MANY TRIPS, was treated like I was an idiot--AND READING OTHER REVIEWS WHERE OTHERS HAVE HAD THEIR CARS DAMAGED? Never ever again! End of story- when I asked to see the parts after the work, they refused to work on my jeep. "The technician didn't feel comfortable". Sad mechanic shop when they are comfortable to work on a jeep! Sorry for the long story- so I put the ending up top. Brought my jeep in for some brake work and safety check. Brake inspection comes back with new rear brakes / parking brake needs to be replaced. Which I suspected. They quote me, I give the go ahead. Then the next day I get a call that they had not started yet because the brake lines are rusted and need to be replaced. I have no doubt they are rusted, so I asked for a quote to replace the brake lines. - Here's where it goes weird. They could get me a quote until they started the brake job (which I authorised yesterday) and possibly broke a brake line. ... wait... so let me get this straight. You're telling me the brake line is so rusty it will probably break if you work on it - but you can't provide a quote until you've broken it? Yes, that is correct. - Ok. So as a customer, I'm letting you know I would like new brake lines- how much would that cost me? "We can't tell you until we measure your brake lines". Ok, then go measure and let me know. I came in today and was helped by David and Lani and they managed to squeeze me in to one of their last slots to get my tires replaced and aligned. *** Lengthy review but please read!! *** I've never had a problem with any Firestone location except this one. This is by far (& I can't stress this enough) the most unprofessional group, from the techs all the way up to the management. Everything that you wouldn't want to deal with in an auto repair shop happens each time I've received service here. Ridiculously long wait times (4 hours for a SCHEDULED vehicle safety check), inconsistent quotes for work to be done, being haggled with for completely unnecessary work, pushy and often times downright rude staff, etc... The most recent visit, and definitely my last, Bryce completed a safety vehicle inspection. When the job was done I went out to my car I noticed my left headlight was completely out. I asked Bryce about this and he said, word for word, "man that s*** was like that when you dropped it off" Now I wasn't about to argue with someone with a 2nd grade reading level, so I went home and took a look and sure enough the headlight assembly and connecting wires had, for some reason, clearly been tinkered and messed with. Sketchy right? And how he tried to blame it on me like that's how he received my car in the first place was so rude and unprofessional! Bottom line, if you care about your vehicle even in the slightest, avoid this place like the plague! read more

Took my car here for an oil change, tire rotation and alignment. Brought it in at 8:00 AM, got it back after 1 PM. They told me my brake rotors were "rusty" and needed to be changed, and while I'm at it, the pads would need to be changed and the brake lines flushed. (The brake pads were changed last year-though not here-and the rotors didn't need any work.) Then they told me that, due to the mileage on the car, I should have the fuel system flushed (Funny, I thought that's what injector cleaner was for? I've NEVER had to have a fuel system flushed on any car I've ever owned.) The extra work they wanted to do (which I refused) would've cost another $760. If I had a place to change the oil, myself, I could've done it in about twenty minutes. Take what they suggest with a grain of salt--a lot of it is pure bull. I also asked them to check the pressure in the spare tire, since it would be up on the rack, and tell me what the pressure was (because I assumed they wouldn't check it). They didn't check it. They told me it was alright, but that it was a "sealed component" and they weren't able to check it. Gee, how do they know it's "alright" if they didn't check it? And just how stupid do they think I am? I have a tire gauge in the glove box that says they're full of crap. Just because the spare is mounted with the stem facing up, and they're too lazy to take it off and check it, they lie to me? If they're going to lie to me, how am I supposed to be able to trust them with my car? The only thing I'll bring it back for, now, is the lifetime alignment. Friendly staff. Took care of us right away. Waiting area was comfortable with the AC, chairs to sit on and football playing on tv. We came in for an alignment and they said it would take about an hour. That cost us about $100. Their prices were high but it's close to where we live and they were the first to pop into mind when we were thinking of auto shops. Didn't have the greatest experience here after having to wait over the amount of time it would take for them to finish. Then when we say that they were done, no one called us up to let us know if they were actually finished. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon. read more

Best auto service I've had in a while. Wife's car would make a deep rumbling noise when applying brakes, also felt it in the pedal. Got the full vehicle inspection and was told we needed to replace all 4 pads and rotors, which is what we expected anyway. Front rotors were warped, rear were super rusted, all pads very thin. David (GM) took the time to call me regarding a minor issue with the caliper pins he was able to get around without charging extra. Picked up the car within the time promised. David explained what caused the rumbling, pointed everything out using an actual brake caliper, and even brought me into the shop to show me our old rotors vs what they should look like. All this was after 5pm closing time. David went above and beyond with this service, and I could tell he had the respect of his team. Easy 5 stars. read more

Be aware that they will miisdiagnose your car, be very late on its completion and on top of that, charge you to put protective material on the seat and floor autmatically. What? Yes, they charge you a an additional percentage of your repair bill amount for "shrouding the steering wheel and putting down a piece of paper on the car floor". Nice way to bilk more money from their customers. Aint going back here. Went to RNS in kapaa quarry and got the job done. The only thing I can say in their favor is that a represenitive called me back to discuss the problem, and i will assume i will be receiving a some money back from their misdiagnosis I was charged for. read more

I have been with this company for about two years and they have been pretty honest and steadfast on their work. I ordered firestone tires and a lifetime wheel alignment. I usually do my own maintenance on the vehicle, but I go to Firestone for maintenance that I have no knowledge of, or don't have the proper tools for. I have experienced other auto shops which they pressure you on situations, but here, I feel comfortable and they're welcoming. I've declined many recommendations which I can do at home. Always trying to sell me unnecessary stuff! First time I went there I was trying to get my Tired rotated and balanced. They said they couldn't because I had bad ball joints and tried to charge me and arm and a leg. I have a legitimate mechanic (Masakis Auto) who I took my truck to for a second opinion. He saw nothing wrong with them so I returned to Firestone. Again they refused to honor my lifetime warranty by saying because of my "bad ball joints" they couldn't perform the alignment. So I took my truck back to Masakis Auto who had the tires aligned that day. Flash forward a few weeks and I had a screw in my tire. Firestone did fix it, but tried to sell me new lug nuts (@ 9.99/each!) saying my lug nuts were stripped. It's ridiculous look at the picture! Less than a week later I wake up to the same tire with a flat. Shame that they have this quote on their wall, "I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business." My elderly mother brought her 2004 Toyota car in for a brake check and they said her brakes, tires, and a battery were totally gone and it would cost $ 2,000? They told her the back drums were stuck and they would have to replace them completely. the front brakes were all it needed. Then they said you need new tires and a new battery was also old and they could change it for her. The battery was only two years old. At the time they checked under the hood one of the employees grabbed the drivers door handle to open the hood and broke the handle. He said "I'm sorry I broke your door handle". My mom felt as if she was being taken advantaged of because she is a senior citizen, so she went to another garage. They told her back brakes were fine, but yes she needed to replace the pads on the front. He also said her battery was fine and still under warranty. Today my mother went back to Firestone with a new door handle that they broke and asked them to replace it. My mom paid for the handle, and just asked if they would replace it since they broke it? Marty said the guy that supposedly broke the handle was off today and that he thinks my mom was lying. He also told my 83 year old mother to step away from when she talks to him. Very rude and obviously doesn't respect the elderly. She is now at home very upset that Marty treated her so poorly, disrespected her, and basically called her liar. If this Marty thinks for one second he can rip-off little old ladies, treat them with disrespect, call them liars, he's wrong. Nicest service team ever. I've been to this location on several occasions. Most recently my old lady car was having a hard time starting, so I called Firestone and they told me to bring it on down, no appointment necessary. The intermittent problem was hard to detect because my car decided to act like she was perfectly fine when she was at the shop! Any way, they ended up having to run two separate kinds of diagnostic test and ended up waving the cost of the first diagnostic that didn't yield any results. They fixed the problem and I was up and running in no time! From simple maintenance such as oil changes and safety checks to repairs such as having my ignition replaced, their excellent customer care will definitely keep me and my old car coming back! read more

Bad customer service. I took my truck in this past Sunday was the second person there and the cashier guy ask why I was bringing in my Tahoe. I told him well, what did I call in to make the appointment for? Duh! Anyways, they checked my car since everything is free right now for inspection check and my mouth dropped when I found out what the total was $6000 get out of here with that price. I wanted to know why my fronts passenger tire was burning when I drive it. They didn't know why because they didn't properly inspect my vehicle... so the next day I took it to the only Guy I trust here in Kaneohe Auto Ricky he is the best his prices are really reasonable and fair and he is a guy you can TRUST. Trust your car with, Trust his prices everything he is awesome. He really took the time to find out what was really wrong with my Tahoe. I was looking to buy four new tires for my vehicle and looked on Yelp for reviews, after price checking Sears, Costco, CJ and Goodyear I called Firestone who had a tire special which included balancing and mounting for a $120 less then the other places. I scheduled an appointment and although the cashier Marty seems a little stuffy, he actually knew his stuff. The tech Justine was pleasant and quick to mount. I took my car back a month later for an oil change that cost $24.99 with the coupon and I added my transmission to be flushed and changed, Marty stated the wait is about two hours. They were right on the money. Thanks Brennan my car runs great. I already setup my appointment to have my brakes flushed and change my trusty rotors. Took my van in for a brake job. Initially just to get the front pads and rotors replaced. After leaving, there was a loud grinding sound from the front brakes. So we took it back a second time and they told us nothing was wrong. The issue persisted noticeably so we took it back a third time. Finally they realized one of the rotors was bad and replaced them both which did finally resolve the issue. It's been 3 months and the front brakes and pads have the same problem again that we took them in for the first time (vibrating when coming to a stop after driving for a bit when the brakes start to warm up). Not sure if they used cheap parts or what, but I've never had this issue reoccur so soon after replacing the discs and pads (this vehicle isn't even driven daily). To top it off they even put the hub caps back on wrong where it covers the air valve for the tire. Normally not a huge deal but on this particular model you actually have to jack up the car and take off the hub caps to rotate the hub cap. Just sloppy and careless work from what I observed and experienced. read more

The employees who work the front sales counter and do most of the labor are genuinely nice and helpful. Seems to me management is less engaged and less likely to do much work other than answer a couple of phone calls and sit at a computer. Also, train your management to have better social skills. For example, if you're booked for the day with appointments, then just say that. Don't lead people to believe you can help them then leave the customer with the perception that you would rather not help them, and they should take their business elsewhere. Today, I brought my Jeep in for a scheduled safety inspection. After waiting an hour, they finally brought the Jeep into the bay. After another hour, they replaced a rear tire with the spare. Took my car in for alignment. Their guys couldn't align. it. I was told that the reason the car is pulling to the left is because of my weight on that side of the car (I weigh 170)). This Firestone is a total rip off -when an error is made they cover for each other and will not admit to a mistake. I saw the son laugh at one customer. I surely do not trust their diagnostics. Summary: Great for somethings, but not for everything. Day: Wednesday at 1400 Parking: Lots of parking, nothing to worry about there! Service: I was coming here for a walkin safety check for my car while my husbands truck had an appointment an hour later. His car was seen almost 15 minutes after getting there and took about an hour, while mine didn't get finished for 2 1/2 hours since it was a walk in appointment. CRAZY! So if you must, schedule an appointment, don't do a walk in unless you want to sit around for a long time. The man behind the counter was very nice to me, and he moved the safety check process along very quickly. The actual man who inspected my car however was much more detailed and really helped me to understand what I needed done to my car. The safety checks went smoothly and if you are looking for a place to have one done, I would recommend this place to you. However, if you're looking for tires, don't come here. Now, here comes the main reason they are getting 2 instead of maybe 3 or 4 stars. My husband, like most men, takes lots of pride when it comes to his truck, this includes lots of attention to detail and research on products. When asking the man behind the counter to help my husband find new tires for his truck, he was almost as clueless as I am! My husband complained to me that he works at a firestone, he should know SOMETHING about tires, but this man didn't really know much. We then asked for a quote on tries, and asked him to keep the quote because we would be back. The very next day after calling other tire/auto shop places, this firestone gave us the cheapest quote, but upon calling they denied it ever happened, even AFTER speaking to the same man who saved and wrote down our quote. Talk about deceptive customer service! He then quoted us for a very high price, no where near the price he quoted us for the day before. I'm not sure if this man was new...i'm not sure if he is a car guy or not, but the least he could have done for us was apologize and give us better customer service. Though this location is no longer makes any geographical sense for me, I continue to bring my car here for all my regular maintenance needs because I feel like I can trust their service and recommendations. I dropped it off at 2:00pm and was told tho come back at 5 which is when they close. I come back a little before 5 and not only had they not done the alignment they tell me that can't do it because my truck is too heavy. ***RIP OFF****FRAUDULENT WORK****I dropped my car off for a simple oil change, a/c cabin filter change, and engine filter change. I've never had any problems with my car since purchasing it, and the only maintenance it's ever needed was the oil change every 3,000 miles. Over 3+ hours later, the car was ready. Between time to pick up the car, they call and tell me that I have several lights (break, license plate, etc) that are out!! These lights were not out prior to my coming in for the oil change. That should have been the red flag for me at that point. I declined the offer to have the "lights' changed. Once I picked up my car it seemed fine. I only drive 2 days a week, so I didn't realize there was another issue. About a week later, several lights came on in my car, including the oil light. Apparently, the oil was drained from the car, but was never put back in. My car was sputtering on the freeway, and I had to have someone else check the car. How could the oil possibly be empty within a matter of weeks of getting an oil change? I believe that they are causing issues within the cars of customers that they deem either unimportant or may possibly have the means or lack of knowledge to keep returning to their facility. I am more than upset, and will be filing this complaint with the BBB, as well as Firestone Corporation. UPDATE: I took my car into another facility this am. The car was completely empty, as far as oil, because the oil filter had not been put on properly, nor had the necessary parts been tightened and replaced properly. Also, I was promised by firestone to have all the fluids topped off as a courtesy, but all the fluids were empty. Regarding the "break light" issue, there is absolutely no issue whatsoever with my lights. I was advised by that facility that there could be damage to the engine block, or a possible engine fail, as I was driving with NO OIL...due to the negligence of the Firestone Kaneohe facility.
